Leave aside the personal and professional criticisms, Bobby Kotick knew how to manage game production at one of the biggest game publishers in the world so it served its audience and made the games they wanted - not just one once but for a decade and a half, year after year.

The problem with the recent Call of Duty game is that it a direct sequel to Black Ops 6, the year after, which fans say has affected the anticipation, the excitement and the quality.

This is the direct result of Microsoft’s ownership and can be called ‘milking it’ or ‘milking its audience’ and is the result of Microsoft’s ownership because it didn’t allow a year off from CoD releases in 2024 or 2025 so more time could be spent on game quality.

Hopefully, Microsoft learns that it shouldn’t try and run Activision as a Microsoft studio.

The other story about the PlayStation job listing mentions ‘optimising title profitability.’ I think this could mean, making more money out of an IP by porting it to other platforms.

If Sony does start releasing single player games on other platforms I think The Last of Us might be first.

I'm not one of those people who hate Jim Ryan, but he is responsible for the half-hearted launch. PlayStation was releasing a brand new hardware product and the only thing it did to promote the launch was a blog post! There should have at least been a 30 minute State of Play going through its capabilities and highlighting games. People want to be sold to, and it would've helped create a greater launch momentum. Maybe Sony should wait until the PS7 generation to launch another.

This TV series will go down in history as having the worst miscast character.

@DiscoStuUK Yep. The last episode was so rushed it lost the emotional weight of the game’s ending. Not enough infected in every episode. I get that the game was taken to another level by the quiet moments, but quiet moments without enough action or danger diminishes them.
