I bought a Switch on Black Friday with Mario Kart and Mario Odyssey, you know, for the family. Going back to Mario is always good. I really like the rumble in the little controllers, the graphics are pretty good for something so small and it doesn’t make a peep of sound, yet...
@Gamer83 Shouldn’t Xbox be making gains on Sony during this time? They have the more powerful console, proven reliability, consumer friendly subscription services that allow access to AAA games... 🤷🏻♂️
Sony just keep on rolling with exclusives and key 3rd party partnerships. Their strategy has been brilliant! They seem to be completely unaffected by the loss of personnel in top positions within the company like Andrew House and Adam Boyes.
This is a solid take, but I’m not fussed. If anything we were probably just duped into believing Sony was our friend back at the PS4’s launch. Self-identifying with a multi-national corporation is always going to be a hazardous pursuit.
E3 appears to be dead. A lot of analysts have been predicting this, but it’s sad to see it happening. Sony will launch the PS5 in it’s own time and space.
@Flurpsel yeah i’m more or less playing like it’s a Fallout game and i’m using VATS, except it’s called Dead Eye. When you unlock the ability to see animals vital organs it’s even more like VATS. Not that I mind, I actually find it very satisfying.
I don’t understand the outrage. Most games I play look like they are running on engines that have be iterated on for the last 10 years or so. Red Dead Redemption 2, Black Ops 4, AC Odyssey...It’s normal.
I’ve been overcoming the shooting by using Dead Eye to mark multiple enemies heads then shooting them all in one go. I don’t know if this is how Rockstart expect people to play, but it makes shootouts quite easy.
Classic N64 would suck balls without Goldeneye and Perfect Dark. As for classic PlayStation, I’d want Worms, Soul Blade, Gran Turismo, Wipeout and Crash Bandicoot of course in there.
@TheArt yeah I get that. But it doesn’t have anything like the nemesis system that is truly groundbreaking, which is a slight disappointment to me. It’s not like they’ve revolutionized the open world genre...
I buckled and bought RDR2. It’s ok, not as groundbreaking as I hoped it would be. Still, i’m a cowboy on a steel horse I ride, i’m wanted dead or alive.
@DLB3 Too far to the left or the right is probably equally bad, but currently, right wing politics is definitely a greater threat to the world, in my opinion. I’m counting the days until Trump is out of office, and praying every day that somehow we manage to get this People’s Vote and turn the tide on Brexit.
@get2sammyb I was just pointing out that Houser was correct when he said ‘Both intense liberal progression and intense conservatism are both very militant, and very angry’. It’s true that it exists on both sides.
@glassmusic with your name you should know that. It means: a musical form with a recurring leading theme, often found in the final movement of a sonata or concerto.
Good decision. Trump and Brexit show that reality is stranger the fiction, so it’s beyond satire. Maybe they could go really dark with it like a modern day Fallout.
Would have been interesting if they had included Back to The Future and Sam and Max to see where they were before The Walking Dead. And wasn’t there a Jurassic Park game as well that no one liked?
I don’t care for myself. The devs always seem to make this stuff easy to ignore in AAA games.
I don’t like these companies preying on it’s customers, but at the same time, in order to make these games, you have to ensure you’re going to make your money back.

Re: October 2018 NPD: Call of Duty, Red Dead Propel PS4 to Record Month
@JJ2 I think the fail rate on the Xbox 360 was a real turn off for a lot of people. Xbones don’t seem to have that problem.

Re: UK Sales Charts: Spyro Roasts Red Dead, Fallout, and Pokémon
Kind of a funky chart. FIFA and COD are slipping, and no Ass Cree or GTAV.
Re: Black Friday 2018: Bargain Bin $199 PS4 Spider-Man Bundle Available Now
If I was buying a PS4 now, i’d want the Pro CUH-7200 model. Can’t quite justify yet,but at some point...

Re: Soapbox: PSVR Has Quietly Had an Outstanding Year
@purplemonkeyspan the only thing they’ve ever shilled is Amazon, and thankfully they do that any longer. You can take the rest at face value.
Re: Soapbox: PSVR Has Quietly Had an Outstanding Year
Before I got VR I would want phone integration so I could see messages and take calls and stuff like that.
Re: THQ Nordic Acquires Bugbear Entertainment, Wreckfest Coming to PS4 Next Year
This is cool. I played quite a bit of Ridge Racer: Unbounded.
Re: Bethesda Will Keep the Same Fundamental Game Engine for The Elder Scrolls VI, Starfield
@ShogunRok I haven’t seen anything of Fallout 76, but Fallout 4 was a quality game. Bethesda are trailblazers when it comes to open world RPGs.

Re: Road Redemption - Road Rash Meets Roguelite for Rough and Ready Action
@Ralizah EA hasn’t done much with its back catalogue for a while, unfortunately.

Re: Poll: Have You Bought Red Dead Redemption 2?
@Gremio108 I think you’ve just sold me on this game.

@DLB3 He’s probably referring to antifa, who do a lot more than complain a lot.

Re: THQ Nordic Won't Release Wreckfest Until It Loves Playing It
100 hour work weeks are illegal in Finland. Stupid nanny state 😡
Re: Dream Daddy Flirts with PS4 on 30th October
@get2sammyb The music is great, but the gameplay is a pain in the ass.
Re: PSN Name Changes Confirmed by Sony, First Is Free, Then You Have to Pay
@lacerz OK, Dad.
Re: Guide: Best PS4 Games You Can Play in a Day
LOL! I was sure this was a new list designed to put Journey number 1. What with it being dethroned from the top of your overall best PS4 game list.
Re: Castlevania Requiem Is Based on the PSP Version of Symphony of the Night
It was the PSP remake of Rondo of Blood that I wanted 😃 . I’m not fussed about SOTN.
Re: Hands On: Devil May Cry 5 Is the Sequel You've Been Waiting For
Better than Bayonetta?
Re: Round Up: Assassin's Creed Odyssey PS4 Reviews Paint an Epic Picture
@ShogunRok The Order: 1886 would have been a huge hit in 2018.
Re: Player Data Paints Damning Picture of Telltale's Efforts
Would have been interesting if they had included Back to The Future and Sam and Max to see where they were before The Walking Dead. And wasn’t there a Jurassic Park game as well that no one liked?
Re: PlayStation Plus October 2018 Games Announced
@ShogunRok just one of those games would have been nice.
Re: Sony Bringing Cross-Console Play Beta to Fortnite Today
@Turismo4GT you think Sony are developing an open world car game? I don’t think they even have a studio for that.
Re: Sony Bringing Cross-Console Play Beta to Fortnite Today
@get2sammyb 😅
Re: Sony Bringing Cross-Console Play Beta to Fortnite Today
@FullbringIchigo yeah it’s a good thing. I could actually see myself playing some Rocket League cross-platform with family members.
Re: Sony Bringing Cross-Console Play Beta to Fortnite Today
@Turismo4GT that’s silly. PlayStation has serveral open world car games.
Re: Sony Bringing Cross-Console Play Beta to Fortnite Today
But I don’t want to play with Xbots and Nintendrones.
Re: Castlevania Requiem Confirmed Exclusively for PS4, Includes Symphony of the Night and Rondo of Blood
One game I wish they would throw in as well is Castlevania Rebirth
Re: Review: NHL 19 (PS4)
@get2sammyb haha yeah. They don’t care about anything more than beating Sweden at Ice Hockey.
Another weird one is Lithuania and basketball...
Re: Review: NHL 19 (PS4)
@get2sammyb yeah the GameStop in Helsinki will have racks of preowned copies of NHL 18 for 5 Euros the day after this is released. It’s bonkers.
Re: UK Sales Charts: Spider-Man PS4 and Tomb Raider Duke it Out for the Top Spot Once Again
@TheArt Sammy thinks Sleeping Dogs is better than GTA5
Re: Red Dead Redemption 2 Details Hunting and Fishing, New Screenshots Released
@ShogunRok i’m here to mindlessly bash a button and watch cool things happen. It’s my favorite kind of gaming, and why MGS4 is the best MGS ever!
Re: Red Dead Redemption 2 Has Around 200 Species of Animal, Says Rockstar
@AFCC and hearing your knife dig into their flesh a million times as you skin the critters.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 238
Final Fantasy 13 is the best Final Fantasy. Lighting, Snow, Vanille and Sazh are the greatest.
Re: Telltale Games Effectively Shuttered After Enormous Layoffs
Wow that’s a shame. I’m sure there must still be a market out there for what they do. I for one loved their Batman games.
Re: Poll: Now That It Offers Game Downloads, Are You Tempted to Subscribe to PS Now?
I think the ability to download PS3 games would be the clincher. Sony are still haunted by the cell.
