When I think about what changed in gaming between the PS3 and PS4 it's this game. Never have I been that engaged in a game on a day-to-day basis as I was in Destiny. After a while I got disenfranchised with it, and I stopped playing and also didn't take any interest in other "games as a service" offerings, but fair play to them, they really got their hooks into me for a good while. Playing the raids with PushSquare members is my best experience playing cooperatively with others online. You have to work together to win. And for that I applaud Destiny.
@themcnoisy Is any of the action really fun in Death Stranding, and if so what is it? The walking, the driving, the climbing, the balancing of items, the shooting? Or is all the fun in the story, strategy, inventory management and that kind of stuff. I personally found MGS5 a great action game weighted down by a load of boring stuff that you have to wade through to get to the fun stuff. As far as I can tell, in Death Stranding it's all the boring stuff without the fun action.
I chose to get an N64 myself just because I loved Goldeneye that much. I have very fond memories of playing the PS1 at my friends’ houses though. Most of all, epic Worms matches, the crazyness of Twisted Metal, Tekken 3 owning house parties, Crash Bandicoot, lots of This Is Footballl, and marveling at Gran Turismo. Great days!
I don't like Titanfall. It's the same like COD except you have to use mechs, which aren't fun to use. I would rather just play COD. Not that it isn't well made and everything, but it's kind of pointless.
@KALofKRYPTON Yeah the autolog is great. I love trying to beat my mates' times. But what I mean is that, as long as you're playing online, there are other players in the world, and every time you start a race it asks you if you want invite them to race with you, but no one ever joins. It's kind of pointless.
I actually liked the online in The Run with traditional playlists and stuff like that.
@ankehuber I agree. People go crazy about microtrasactions even when they are completely superfluous and without any impact on the game. Personally, I wasn’t crazy about the FMV in Need For Speed, but I played both Rivals and Payback till completion and had a great time. The only problem really is the online racing, which not many people really use, and from what i’ve read, Heat didn’t change much in that regard. You still invite randoms and nobody joins...
@NeoTokyo404 ahh I thought you were talking about 2012 PS3 release from Criterion, which was pretty bland and no where near as good as their Burnout Paradise or NFS Hot Pursuit games.
@NeoTokyo404 That really isn’t true. I don’t know why some reviewers hate NFS games on PS4 so much, but they are all significantly better than Most Wanted.
I had a great time with Fallout 4. I am very tempted by Outer Worlds, but am not sure it will be as good without the total open world and manipulation of objects. Fallout 76 was never on my radar.
By and large, Sony knows when to hold them, and when to fold them. They push some smaller games very well like Journey, Rocket League, No Man’s Sky, The Witness, Black Swan etc. But sorry, the games you are evangelizing are just not worth Sony investing much into IMHO.
@Chris0160 I never had a problem with the speed cards either. And you can download and customize skins to your heart’s content. People go absolutely mental about any in game currency that you can pay for with real money, but there is absolutely no need to pay. The game is easy!!!
Looks less interesting than Payback in my opinion. Reminds more of the previous NFS with the FMV.
I don’t know why people didn’t like Payback. The racing, police pursuit, Off-Road, and drag racing were all good and were blended in well with a good story and interesting characters. This new one looks too bland like the NFS before, which was always dark as well.
I doubt i’ll get this day 1. Though the PS4 was a lot of fun to pick up at launch. All those drunk heads with robots flying around their heads was priceless. And the guys that left it on to broadcast their lazy girlfriends watching daytime TV was also brilliant. Who knows what the PS5 will bring to the table...
Super Mario Maker 2. I have a lot of ideas for levels, but don’t find the time to make them. Most of he time I play the most popular levels and sometimes they are really good. I wish Nintendo would allow makers to make a series of levels that play one after the other, so that the makers could make complete games. That would be amazing.
What annoyed me recently was that Sony sent me a survey to do on PlayStation Plus (I had been a member since they were giving out one half-decent game, dlc, PS1 games and other crap from the PS Store). Halfway through the survey they said we don’t need your input because you are no longer a Plus subscriber ( I cancelled last month). What the actual feck? My opinion is absolutely relevant, you cretins. Like why I canceled after 5 solid years... idiots.
@fabisputza00 I had to take a break from Odyssey as well. It's too formulaic. Also the levelling up system sucks. I was under-leveled for my next story mission so I went around and did some stuff, maybe killed a few too many mercenaries or whatever. Go back to the story mission; just a bunch of exposition and a little bit of busy work, but a tonne of XP, and boom now I'm over-levelled and the game is boring because it's too easy. It's annoying. I've always found this kind of stuff annoying about RPGs. They should just be challenging all the time like Bloodborne.
@Luna-Harmony Yes, I agree the Switch and its games are overpriced. I put my Switch in a case then put it in my backpack, which is exactly what I did with my Vita. Not much of difference in portability for me. The playing experience is significantly better on the Switch thanks to ergonomics, better button layout, 4 shoulder buttons, rumble, and of course the screen size and its power to run more up-to-date games. The Switch succeeds in giving you a home console experience on the go. That was exactly the marketing of the Vita, but it did not quite achieve that IMO.
@thefirst nah. People took a huge dump on it at E3 because it was all bombastic action and no survival horror. Hence, a lot of the hype got killed before it came out.
@kyleforrester87 would be fine if you could put her in a box like Ashley, but she is just annoying. Take away all her weapons and get her to carry your ammo is the only way to play.
@Dodoo my PS2, PS3, Vita and PS4 all lasted the course, but as for Nintendo, the disc drive in my Wii died and my launch 3DS got annoying marks on the screen thanks to a design flaw. I think they fixed that problem in later models...
No. The lucky dip of PS Plus just isn’t working out for me anymore. The games they are giving away are less appealing and there are less of them. Some months used to be bad with the PS4 games, but would have a decent Vita game (usually playable on PS4) that would pick up the slack. I’m truly disappointed that they took away the Vita and PS3 games at the same time as making the PS4 giveaways worse as well. Plus is all about online now.
