@kyleforrester87 Like I said, going loud is a lot of fun in MGSV. The firefights are great with the arsenal at your disposal. I agree that it's better than Far Cry. Probably it's the best action stealth open world game out there.
@kyleforrester87 Good tip. I took the first sniper rife I could because I could see how useful it would be on the map. The enemies move slowly and aren't great at getting behind cover, so headshots are easy to come by. Far Cry 4 was also way too easy for the same reason. This is basically Japanese Far Cry.
Metal Gear Solid V. Holy moly it's a good stealth action game. You have to sit through a lot of nonsense to get to where you want to be, but once you're out there taking on the enemies, it's fantastic. Unlike previous MGS games, getting caught is one of the best parts because then you can bring out the big guns, grenades, C4, attack helicopters... and just go to war. I'm very impressed by this game.
I skipped Destiny 2. I'm sure it's a fun coop shooter, but all the stuff around the edges is bollocks. You can't even hang out on the Moon in Destiny 2.
I would like to know if they've put together a more impressive world to explore. The last game was great, but it was a bit too baron and brown for my liking.
I heard you had to do side missions in this game to level up so you could do the main missions. I might just put it on easy then because I'm so sick of AC side missions. When I played Unity I completely mainlined it and had a good time. The trick is to ignore the vomit of side missions on the map.
@Splints even if you pay for the games you should probably still write "own". Why do you want to pay for a digital license that you already have anyway?
I notice that people don't float anymore from one AAA game to the next. It's more like continually playing one or two service based games and picking up the odd outstanding AAA game like Horizon Zero Dawn then going back to Dota/ CS Go / Destiny / League etc.
@AFCC risky business betting on Arsenal, especially in the league cup where Arsene experiments. I might get FIFA, but the thing I don't like about UT is how long you spend in menus.
I had a feeling MGSV would come to Plus sooner or later. The ending of Ground Zeroes was so gross it kind of put me off getting five, but now I am ready.
I've gone back and forth on the Switch, but in the end I don't think I'm gonna get one. I've actually been having a lot more luck with remote play on my Vita. I think they've gradually been improving that service. What I really would like is a new Vita with that thing getting on for 6 years old now... That doesn't appear to be in their plans. I wonder what they're going to do for that Asia/Japan market though...
@AFCC I haven't enjoyed PES for two generations. That's after buying and loving 2,3,4, and 5 on PS2. Nothing could touch those games at the time. Now I can't get into PES or FIFA. It might also have a bit to do with not having a great Arsenal team to play with anymore...
I'm surprised at how much hype there is for more Destiny. I guess a lot of people are anxious to see if it is a suitable jumping on point after Destiny's stock rose somewhat after The Taken King.
I watched this being played, and I gotta say that running around with lines coming out of you automatically to attack enemies doesn't look too involving for the player.
@banacheck I personally think the conference had too many similar AAA action adventure titles shown closely together. Dreams was promising a completely different flavour of game, so I think it would have been welcomed for that reason.
@get2sammyb Cool. I also think it was wise for Sony to do a more measured conference with truly solid games that will absolutely come out and be high quality. No Man's Sky under delivering, Dreams disappearing, the negative rumours circling about FF7, the lack of information on Shenmue, Rime being dropped, all reflect poorly on Sony.
@get2sammyb I don't think they did that for VR. The VR section was weak and poorly presented IMO. Maybe they should have had Jim Ryan up there instead of Sean Layden because the VR segment didn't stand out at all in that way.
@get2sammyb I enjoyed the longer press conferences because it gave guys like Sean Murray and Alex Williams the time to sell us on a vision. By blending indies with AAA games in press conferences, I think they successfully legitimized indies to the mainstream gamer and told a story about the PS4 with more diversity and imagination. God of War, Spider-Man, and Days Gone all look like 10/10 games, but they also feel like a bit of known quantity, to me.
I disagree. The conference needed exactly the type of variety indies bring to the table. Having all those narrative driven AAA games back-to-back made them all feel less special. They should have stayed more true to the concepts they launched the PS4 with.
@FATPC I should watch those, though I find questions like 'how will this game make use of the Pro's features' kind of boring. I guess I'm more thinking of the guy from No Man's Sky and the Media Molecule guy that gave Sony's previous conferences soul and character.

Re: Assassin's Creed Origins Will Let You Change the Difficulty
@munkholt I think AC Black Flag is clearly the 2nd best AC after Two.

Re: Poll: Do You Want Another Portable PlayStation?
I want both. An all-out PS5 home console, and a PlayStation Switch, or Vita 2 with a similar concept.

Shame that they don't bring it to Vita. That's where I played the first one.
Re: God of War PS4 Will Be the Most Brutal Entry Yet
This is good to hear. Many a games journalist complains about Kratos, but I like how angry and violent he is.

@Bad-MuthaAdebisi Especially when I think he was talking about the Gran Turismo games at the time.
Re: Oh Boy! Now Quantic Dream Said Something Silly
Hmm... Detroit or Forza series? Until GT Sport comes out Sony shouldn't be bragging too much about exclusives.

@get2sammyb Weird question, but how do you fire in this game? Do you have to press the trigger like Aliennation, or is it automatic like Resogun?
