Re: PS Store Sales Charts: Sports Outpace The Last of Us PS5 on Both Sides of Pond

@Shad361 JoJo is #10 in North America and not charted in UK. Could be a huge difference between #3 and #10. We don't know unless they report actual sales numbers.
Also, I wouldn't say JoJo is all that niche, it's huge in Asia, specifically Japan. North America has a growing Asian population, hence it charting in North America and not UK. Disney Dreamlight Valley I wouldn't say is niche either. But regardless, what you said about basically every new game charting simply isn't true. I think you're underestimating just how many games are released regularly.

Re: Feature: How Accessibility Options Help Disabled Gamers Beat The Last of Us: Part I

@theheadofabroom that's a fair point. The accessibility options weren't the only upgrade/addition to the remake though. Perhaps they could've just patched in the added accessibility options to the previous versions. But then again, they aren't being compensated for their work that way so that may not be sustainable. You're right, I don't know what the answer to the problem might be.

Re: Where to Pre-Order the God of War Ragnarok PS5 Controller

@nerd7 take into consideration the difference in value of different currencies and the overall economic landscape. $95 CAD is about £64 in the UK. Canada also has higher wages than places like the UK and US. Cost of living is also lower, except in major Canadian cities. So all things said, $95 CAD for a controller is about equal value as everywhere else.

@JGruns all the accessibility and visual upgrades don't just happen with the click of a button. Real people put in real work and get paid real money to make the upgrade a reality. I don't understand why people feel so entitled that they should just get the upgrade for free. The upgrade has meaning and value to a lot of people. If the upgrade serves no purpose to you, then don't buy it. It's completely 100% the consumer's choice wether they want to buy into it.

Sony's got a lot of issues that hurt the consumer, but I don't find charging for optional upgrades to be one of them.

Re: Talking Point: Is a PlayStation Showcase Really Happening This Year?

bpomber

@Jammsbro that's a lot of games that they wouldn't focus a PlayStation Showcase around. PlayStation Showcases have been focused around big-hitting AAA first party games. There's really not many AAA first party PlayStation games expected next year. Maybe Spider-Man 2 or The Last of Us multiplayer. But if they aren't ready to give us a date and gameplay for those games then a PlayStation showcase would be very bare.

Re: Press X for Trophies Is a Sad Indictment of PS5, PS4 Today

They need to just make a section of the PS Store dedicated for these easy trophy games.
I don't have a problem with them existing, if people want to spend their money on those garbage games then that's their choice.
I do have a problem with these games littering the store front and making it hard to find actual good indies.

Re: Sony Faces Lawsuit Over Supposed PS5 Crashing Defect

@D34DL1N3R If you have no interest in it then you wouldn't have commented and accused me of lying in the first place.
Clearly you do have interest in the situation, and that's okay. The entire point of this site and the comment section is to discuss interests. There's just more civil ways you can go about doing it.
Anyway, I have nothing to be mad about today, but I appreciate the concern. It's been a great day. You have a great day as well.

Re: Sony Faces Lawsuit Over Supposed PS5 Crashing Defect

@D34DL1N3R Actually I just made a simple statement about a PS5 having crashing issues. You then told me I'm full of it, implying that for some reason I decided to come on here and lie about the situation. You did not make "a simple statement that it's strange for a person to not file a warranty claim".
When I make public comments on public forums I don't expect people to come out and accuse me of lying about situations that have absolutely no benefit to me to lie about.
Instead of instantly accusing me of lying, you could've just asked me more about the situation, like a well adjusted, level-headed person would do.

Re: Sony Faces Lawsuit Over Supposed PS5 Crashing Defect

@D34DL1N3R I didn't say the issues were from day one. I said he's had a PS5 since day one. Like I said, he can't even run Returnal, which came out months after he got his PS5, so not since day one. As for why he didn't do a warranty claim, I don't know. You'll have to ask him since you seem to care so much about his situation. Maybe he just didn't want to send it away and be without a PS5 for a little while.
