Re: Mini Review: Pentiment (PS5) - A Slow-Burning 16th-Century Murder Mystery

@Impossibilium again, I saw that. I'm questioning why it's worth mentioning for this game and not any other?

For example, in the NHL 24 review why not say:
"It's trite to say that a game isn't for everyone in a review since that could broadly be said about any video game, but it's worth mentioning that if you're not a fan of hockey then perhaps this isn't a game for you."

Re: Xbox Set to Announce Multi-Platform Plans Next Week

@OldGamer999 Xbox will probably market all their games by saying an Xbox console is still the best way to play. So they can hope to at least maintain decent hardware sales with this marketing strategy. Plus they know that there will always be the hardcore Xbox fans, like many of the PureXbox users, who will buy Xbox no matter what.

Re: It's Utter Domination for PS5 in Europe as Xbox Continues to Lose Significant Ground

@Nem I would say Nintendo isn't really direct competition with PlayStation. I don't think someone owning a Switch would stop them from owning a PS5. People buy Nintendo for Pokemon, Mario, Zelda, etc. The general gaming audience who mostly just plays CoD and other FPS games and sports games play on PlayStation, PC, or Xbox. Eliminating one of those three just creates less competition.

Re: Exoprimal (PS5) - One of the Most Promising Online Co-Op Shooters in Eons

@KaijuKaiser Well for the most part, reviews are subjective*. Just because one reviewer dislikes it, doesn't mean that another reviewer will too, and vice versa. Review scores mean very little to me for this reason.
This is why I would never make a purchasing decision based off review scores.
There's plenty of games that review well that I don't like, and plenty of games that review poorly that I love.

*I say "for the most part" because sometimes games are almost unanimously disliked because they are objectively bad due to being broken or having dated gameplay, like Redfall and Gollum.

Re: PlayStation Showcase Completely Divided Fan Opinion

bpomber

Most gamers, who are not the niche market on sites like this, who watched the showcase, or will watch clips of it on YouTube, will associate these games with PlayStation now.
Xbox will also show off some third-party games at their showcase. It will have the same effect for the general gaming audience, but in Xbox's favour.
Showing off third party games is not a bad thing!

Re: Google Stadia's Biggest Exclusive GYLT Is Coming to PS5, PS4

@get2sammyb @NEStalgia So what were the games streamed on? Did Google have it's own device that exclusively streamed Stadia games?

I sure hope that streaming isn't the future of video games. I don't like having to rely on internet connectivity and using bandwidth to play a game. Not to mention the decreased performance of a streamed game versus a downloaded game.
