@Major_Player absolutely. It remains a mystery why Sony shut down the studio that made the biggest financial disaster in entertainment since... forever? Someone needs to be paid to look into it.
Apart from the farming element of the game, the rest is definitely my cup of tea. I'm intrigued. Let's see if it turns out good. To this day I consider Ni No Kuni the best Pokemon alternative.
@Elodin absolutely. I just think that in video games, things are quite different.
We've seen that if gamers are dissatisfied with gaming, they won't just buy a different console. They may stop gaming altogether and opt for Netflix or something completely different. As opposed to essential things like mobile phones, operating systems for PCs/laptops, etc. There, monopolies can be a pretty big deal.
So, essentially, if you release a product that people are not interested it, they won't just buy it because they have no other option. Even if Nintendo and Sony were to cease to exist, MS wouldn't be able to sell anywhere near as much as Nintendo and Sony did.
Sony has every reason to keep customers satisfied, because even with no competition, there is no guarantee anyone will buy their products.
@MikeOrator Ι think the issue is that the game is locked at 30fps. A remaster could drastically change the way it feels to play it. For some people, 30fps makes a game "unplayable".
@Bez87 even if it is a trend, we can just ignore them if we don't feel like playing a slightly (in most cases) improved version of a game we've already played.
@Carnage it's always nice to see the voice of reason in a see of emotional responses. We've seen time and time again that great games fail. That never stops people from posting "make a good game and people will buy it" whenever a game sells well. Same with the opposite.
@Lavishturtle yes, how dare they speak their mind. The deserve the ultimate punishment, unlike all the other developers who never use Twitter to speak their mind.
@kyleforrester87 yup. And even if some of them were great at what they did, it must be quite difficult to land a job after of the biggest bombs in the industry. So, if they can afford it, they totally should take a break and come back when the situation improves.
@Elodin did competition from Nintendo in Japan bring prices down? Even after sales of ps5 consoles took a massive hit, Sony didn't change their mind about lowering the increased price of Ps5 in Japan. Competition doesn't work the way a lot people think.
@NEStalgia I fully understand what you mean. But it still doesn't matter, imho. At the end of the day Sony first and foremost wants their games to make a profit. And that's exactly what this game managed to do. So, it was somewhat of a failure as a live service game, but overall a huge success.
@NEStalgia yes, ideally a company may want their game to sell 100m copies. But that doesn't happen, now does it? The fact that Helldivers sold so much makes it a huge success no matter how you cut it.
Had it not been a multiplayer game, it wouldn't have sold as much as it did, hence why it outperformed every single first party game ever released.
@Bigmanfan I'd argue they're good for indie developers who struggle financially and may run out of funds before the game is complete. Other than that, I wish all companies would use their funds for new games, not to block other games from experiencing a third party game.
@Overmind Yeah, I thought so. I just wanted to take my sweet time with it, never look up anything and be surprised every time I got something right by accident.
@Overmind dear God. That's what I call dedication! I've been playing it ever since it came out and I'm nowhere near close to getting everything, though I've been busy so according to the ps app, I've played for about 60hrs so far.
@KingPev when it's a bunch of people, it's opinions. This goes beyond that and it's a consensus. But, yes it goes without saying that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Even if that opinion has been influenced by others without realizing it.
@Fishnpeas absolutely. Every single review is just an advertisement. Seems like Sony paid more for Astrobot than anything else. They must have had a lot of faith in it.
If only companies would advertise more and get great scores for their games, too. They simply haven't cracked the code, it seems.
And let's not forget the userscores on metacritic and pushsquare users voting for it. Just imagine how many accounts Sony had to create to make it happen.
@KingPev then how did a "bland and dull with lame characters" game get a 90 on metacritic (an 88 userscore) and was voted by most pushsquare users Game of the year?
@UltimateOtaku91 exactly! I just think that, in addition to some haters, most people don't hate it, but there more they read that it's a mediocre/terrible game, the more they start to believe it and they recall everything they didn't like about it as opposed to the entire (very positive) experience they had playing it. Now, obviously they either don't realize it or don't want to admit it, but there are entire studies in psychology on it.
Reading most of the comments here is pure entertainment. So, the game that was up for several game of the year awards, was voted best of the year by this very community, has a freaking 90 on metacritic is supposed to be mediocre? Sure, sure.
I firmly believe that people are influenced by others more than they realize or care to admit. The complaints arose when people realized that Peter Parker would be replaced by Miles Morales. Just like they hate when a white character in a tv series/movie is replaced by a black actor ("we will not be replaced" and all that jazz) .

Is sense in the room with us?
Re: Dragon Age: The Veilguard Comes Out Swinging, Already EA's Biggest Single Player Game on Steam
@Blaze215 yup. Compare it to the biggest success of the year to see if it did well. Seems fair.
Re: PS5 Pro Not Compatible with PS5 Slim Face Plates, Sony to Release New Covers for More Powerful Console
@JokerBoy322 it's been the case for quite a while now. At least on push square anyway.

@JokerBoy322 nope. That would be Nintendo or Apple. Just read the comments here, just like everywhere else. It's 99% negative.

@MikeOrator not even close.

Re: Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered (PS5) - A Sublime Remaster of a Modern PlayStation Classic
@Batesy125s yup. That's why I think it should be neither a pro nor a con.
Re: Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered (PS5) - A Sublime Remaster of a Modern PlayStation Classic
"Trophies don't transfer". This is also a pro for some people.
Re: Random: Forward-Thinking PlayStation Gamer Spends $2,000 on 24 Years of PS Plus
@chucksneed you do that.
Re: Go Go Pre-Order the Sublime Power Rangers: Rita's Rewind for PS5, PS4 Now
Way too expensive. I love Power Rangers as much as the next guy, but it'll have to wait.

Sad for the developers. Some of the comments here don't surprise me. Certain people completely lack empathy.

@Alps_Stranger yes, because they've been doing so well in Japan where they raised the price of the ps5. If only they had some competition.

I have a UK and it's completely gone for me (using ios, if that makes a difference).

Re: PlayStation, Bungie Still Going Ahead with Internal Live Service Team
@LifeGirl it was most certainly successful. The initial sales alone made it a huge a success.
Re: Sony's Guerrilla Sounds Completely Done with the Killzone Series
Ι don't blame them. Killzone games didn't sell particularly well, despite being well made.

Re: Poll: One Year Later, How Would You Rate Marvel's Spider-Man 2 on PS5?
@buggysdad hm... Wouldn't that be the case for other games, tough? Like BG3, for example?

@AverageGamer good point. It's a handheld game at heart.

@AverageGamer didn't they have Pokemon when they released WiiU?
