not sure how I feel. I REALLY enjoy pixel based games (Children of Morta kinda stuff) and this feels... different. The original was a lot of fun, I really dug the idea. Yeah, I see the same elements but it has a different taste and all. Don't know how to put my finger on it.
So fun! I love all the fun mechanics and hidden gems. I wish the boss was a little tougher, though! And I'm a sucker for the Astro Bot Rescue Mission in VR... I keep thinking that they can release a VR level or a few in VR for this game... some of the mechanics feel very similar to the Rescue Mission...
This is indeed BS. I contacted Thomas Hegarty, president of Roll7 and said I was sorry his studio got shut down. (I used to write for a PS Vita website and he was a contact WAY back then when OlliOlli was first released for the Vita!) He was really nice about it, but it was clear they were getting shut down.
@Mostik i pcked up a set of Plats on sale once. 3d sound is super cool. On Tsushima you can hear all sorts of sounds around you, like when you call your horse you can tell which side he's riding up on. Not a big deal, but it's the little touches.
@Daleaf hah yeah, I remember that's why I bought Little Big Planet, too. I was going to create the best games! Same with Dreams. Reality: How do you rotate the item to make a stupid shape? Throws controller. Goes into the community to see what they've made.
9. I've only spent 15 or so hours, but I love it. I went a path that I wasn't quite ready for (I'm playing on hard... it's tough), and now I'm backtracking to get bow and armor and to build up more skills. I feel rewarded for exploring every inch of the island, if not for material things, but for the beauty of the island and the care/love in which the team did in making the game.
Dead Space 2, I think that was the one. I can't remember, but you couldn't die or use something or whatever, I just gave up trying for that trophy.
edit: I just looked it up:
"Hardcore" is basically Normal difficulty, with a twist - you can only save 3 times, no more than that.
on the guide it says: This setting is not for those with faint of heart and lacking dedication. Enemies are moderately tough and ammo is a somewhat limited resource. In addition you will need to be able to play for long hours as the game has 15 Chapters. You-will-be-dying-and-restarting, alot. Your first ideal save point should be somewhere in Chapter 6 or 7. Your second save point should be somewhere in Chapter 9 or 11. And your last save point at the end of Chapter 13 or end of Chapter 14 if you can make it that far."
I remember trying to get through it, but died early on and didn't want to have to restart it.
8. Tough! But man, when Silent Bomber showed up I didn't even have to look at the options. That hit me. I never finished that game... I got stuck at the stupid chess game.
You know I'm really happy with the PS4 right now. Come on, Last of Us, Cyberpunk, Tsushima... and the games in my backlog... phew. I'm going to be busy with my ps4 for a while. I don't need the PS5 for a few years.
@lacerz hah! that's how I feel too. I threw the money at them at first and now I haven't gone back in after trying to make a simple model of something. I want to make music in there, but I can't just get around the controls.
This was fantastic. I really felt like it was a Jedi kind of adventure, set in feudal Japan. Deflecting arrows. One hit kills. I really liked the vibe. Now, knowing SuckerPunch, I'll have to play the game twice... once on the honorable side, the other as the Ghost.
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi once you try the bow you'll never do anything else. I struggle to find a way to melee or even spell cast. archery is pretty rewarding to play! fun and effective.
I'm torn between 1 and 2 on your list. My daughter as a young young child would watch the intro to Snake Eater over and over. I especially liked how you could change stuff on that opening song, too. But yes, MGS redefined gaming for me. It came out when Tenchu did, so those two stealth games were my jam.
This is the truth. I can't believe how fun it is. And not sickness inducing. Don't know how they did that. Usually racing games on VR make me vomit in a second. I picked this game up months ago on sale hoping the VR update would be this awesome. Not disappointed. Might actually pull me away from Monster Hunter...
