My eyes glaze over and my brain goes numb for 90% of spoken dialogue, even if I try. Even worse for text. My subconscious knows it's mostly poorly written filler.
When I first got a PS3 and a trophy notification showed up, I'm like "what the hell is this nonsense? a pretend trophy for playing a part of a game? How silly!" I thought it was a fad that would disappear, like those Wii and Xbox 360 avatars.
It's quite the strategy. They had to pay an enormous amount of money for some (potentially) good exclusives, for them to put it on a subscription service that probably won't turn a profit for quite a while. I mean, it's got me interested in potentially getting an Xbox console for the first time since the first one, so that's something. I'd wait til after ES6 is released though.
I've been wanting something like Splatoon to play, where you can easily jump in and play a couple rounds and isn't strictly a shooter. But this feels like a beta. Kinda empty and soulless in spite of the color. Also I only get bots so far.
I've been playing this for Halloween vibes this month. It's been good fun. The controls are simple enough that you can jump in for a little bit each day after work. I recommend it.
I'll probably have some fun goofing around with MKX. It's not the sort of game I buy, but for some tomfoolery when a friend is over is ok. A cartoony golf game I would have liked, but not PGA. So overall a "disposable" month. If you get ps+ when it's on a good sale, mostly crappy months is fine.
I'd like to see ps+ and psnow just combined. They're mostly ok individually. But 2 different subscriptions on one platform from one company is just kinda silly. Except I guess now can play on pc, barely.
I noticed a lot of these are PS3 games, and I've gotta say nothing I've played on the ps4 so far has been as good of an experience as Skyrim and Mass Effect. Although HZD was fantastic I'd consider it more action adventure with rpg elements, and Dragons Crown was almost entirely a beat em up.
@Robocod yeah, some of those indies only go on sale during a certain time period and then never again. Don't know why. It would certainly push me to buy more of them.
I mean, mobile would be a good platform with an attached controller. Most smartphones have impressive specs to an old timer like me. There's just rarely any worthwhile games on it.
I have 2 ps3s with mechanical issues and I'm done sticking money into those obsolete things. Buying an emulator that works well would be more sensible. Still would like to play through Puppeteer.
Hmm, i own most of these, still happy with the list, though! I thought the demo of paper beast was really intriguing, looking forward to the whole experience
Yeah, after this i guess I'll just let psnow expire. It's great for someone just getting a ps4, but a lot of the best games on there have already been on sale for super cheap in the past. The big sony titles are usually $20 or less after a year anyway, and the indies are lacking.
Past couple days I've been playing a lot of old Genesis games I had either missed out on or never finished. Crusader of Centy, Wonder Boy, etc. Save states make these old games playable again, as I just don't have the patience to replay whole sections of games multiple times.

Re: Mini Review: Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon (PS4) - A Puzzlingly Great Spin-Off
@Americansamurai1 this is a game a demo may push me to get it but as is, I'll be waiting for at least 50% sale.
Re: Redout 2 Fills the WipEout Hole in Our Hearts on PS5, PS4 Next Year
@Saucymonk same here. Started kinda cool, but got old and un-fun really quick. More frustration than excitement.

I see Shantae SS and Pathless are on sale. Usually I wait til at least 50% off but I don't think I can resist this one! So that may be my weekend.
Re: Best PS4 Exclusive Games
I didn't realize "no particular order" actually means "very specific order". Thanks, comment section!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 397
A bit of Yakuza 0, and a SMW rom hack. Peach's Adventure or something.
Re: Sony Introduces Game Trials, Try PS5 Games for a Limited Time
Bringing back demos would be better.

Re: PS5 Has Reached 1 Million UK Sales Faster Than Any Other PlayStation Console
@sanderson72 what? Why would anyone pay more for a PS4 pro when PS5 is backward compatible?

Re: LittleBigPlanet PS3, Vita Servers Shut Down to Combat Hacker Issues
So the PS4 LBP3 servers are back up? Sweet! I just started playing it a little while ago thanks to psnow before this whole kerfuffle happened.
Re: Ren & Stimpy Join the Roster of Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl on PS5, PS4
@Blackjay It's definitely not for most. And kind of a "you had to be there" sort of thing.
Re: Tinykin Is a Pikmin-Inspired Puzzle Platformer Coming to PS5, PS4 Next Year
We may never see a pikmin 4 so this will do, if executed well. I hope it has zany humor in it.
Re: Mini Review: Hoa (PS5) - Good Vibes Only for Pretty Platformer
Looks perfect for me. When it hits a good sale, I'm in!
Re: Rumour: PS Plus September 2021 PS5, PS4 Games Leaked Ahead of Official Reveal
Dang. I have Overcooked on ps4 and it's more stressful than fun. The other 2 are the standard dreary ps+ filler titles. Bleh.
Re: Two New PS Store Sales Contain Over 1,500 PS5, PS4 Game Deals
So many good indies on sale! Iconoclasts is super cheap. One of my faves.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 388
Some New Super Lucky's Tale for some platform action and a few rounds of Rocket League.
Re: FuturLab Working on a Spiritual Successor to the Velocity Series
Never could beat 2x but loved it anyway. Here's to hoping the next game has an easy mode!
Re: PS Store Golden Week Sale Features Over 700 PS5, PS4 Deals
@Robocod yeah, some of those indies only go on sale during a certain time period and then never again. Don't know why. It would certainly push me to buy more of them.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 373
Still doing side quests in Crosscode, then maybe I'll have a chance at beating that whale!
Re: Biomutant Provides Atmospheric Look at Its Open World
Been looking forward to this since before i had a ps4!

Re: Sony to Continue Investing in Dreams Developer Media Molecule
I love Dreams, glad to hear it's being supported.
Re: Nine Free PS4 Games Are Available to Download Now
Was impressed with the Paper Beast demo. This is great!
Re: Talking Point: Would You Buy a PS1, PS2, or PS3 Emulator for PS5?
I have 2 ps3s with mechanical issues and I'm done sticking money into those obsolete things. Buying an emulator that works well would be more sensible. Still would like to play through Puppeteer.
Re: A Hat in Time Doffs Its Cap at 60 Frames-Per-Second PS5 Update
Ooh! Finnaly, this is my only day 1 full price dlc purchase! Love this game.
Re: Outriders Is Going to Be a Commercial Crater on PS5, PS4
I mean, it's ANOTHER shooter. Unless it's absolutely phenomenal, I'd be reluctant to download it even with gamepass.
Re: All Free PS4 Games, Offers Included in Play At Home Initiative 2021
Hmm, i own most of these, still happy with the list, though! I thought the demo of paper beast was really intriguing, looking forward to the whole experience
Re: Future Bethesda Games Will Ship 'Where Game Pass Exists'
@LiamCroft my son did! Honestly it played just fine to me. shrug
Re: Worry No Longer, Kena: Bridge of Spirits Is a $40 Game
I like a good short and sweet game. I'll be getting it on sale at some point.
Re: PS Plus March 2021 PS5, PS4 Games Announced
Wow, did not expect FF7R to be a freebie for years!
Re: Cyber Shadow (PS5) - A Stylish, Challenging Action Platformer
@JapaneseSonic same here. These style indies almost universally crank the split second timing requirement up to 11. It's overdone.
Re: It Finally Happened: BioMutant Just Got a PS4 Release Date
Looking forward to this before i even had a ps4.
Re: New PS Store Sale Sends Retro PS4 Games to the Bargain Bin
Interested in SoR4, but $17 is still to high for a beat em up for me, no matter how cool it is.
Re: Balan Wonderworld Gets a Demo Next Week on PS5, PS4
I love platformers! Will definitely be downloading this.
Re: Returnal Gets Brand New PS5 Gameplay Trailer, Details on Combat
I like the look of it but roguelikes aren't my thing.
Re: Fall Guys Goes to Hell in Crossover with DOOM
@BrainHacker it's worth firing up. New courses every now and then make it a quick bit of fun.

Re: PS Plus Free January 2021 PS5, PS4 Games Announced
@thefourfoldroot yeah, I agree. Even if it is cheap, it sucks the fun out of many monthly new game announcements to have this much overlap.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 357
@Ryall I still haven't gotten past that final area. Let us know what you think of it! Tricky lasers...

Shadow is really good for those that haven't played it yet. Greedfall wasn't my cup of tea. I wonder what January's Now games will be.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 354
Got back into Bowsers Inside Story (ds) a bit this weekend, while sitting by my Netflix fire. But mostly i played CrossCode on my ps4.
