They're useful to me to give me something to focus on other than news and politics. I probably spend more time on gaming news than actually playing, which is fine. Focusing on some positive distraction part of the day is part of an overall healthy lifestyle.
Looks like something for everybody here. I already have Little Nightmares and the other 2 aren't my cup of tea, but can't complain. That's an excellent lineup.
I like it. I extended my psnow sub just in time, and I'm happy with some of the big recent first party titles on there. Also Uncharted lost legacy. I never really wanted to buy it, just play through it at some point. Well here we go.
It seems to be a game made for enthusiasts by enthusiasts and completely leaves out people who just want to have some rad futuristic fun. Still hoping for a sequel to Fast RMX.
@LP09 Yeah it feels like early Netflix. Where it's really impressive the first few years, but then it's more enjoyable to focus on just the best of what you want which often aren't on whatever subscriptions you have currently.
I have a year of psnow stacked, so I'll be giving Premium a good try. Honestly though, I'm probably better off just being really picky about the games I buy. I've only got so much time and drive for gaming. And the indies I'm really interested in rarely show up on things like psnow or plus so I end up having to buy those anyway.
I'm all in favor of refinement. This looks good. Windbound didn't do it for me, I don't care for procedurally generated worlds, too much crafting, and not so great combat. So hopefully this fills that Wind Waker shaped hole in my heart.
I've played this a bit on my RetroPie. Impressive for the hardware at the time. I would've liked it if I had it back then. But not really worth buying or playing today. As with most retro re releases, it's for sitting on a shelf and burning money.
@Mauzuri funny you should mention that. I thought DQ11 was alright. Not impressive, but playable, but with baaad music. But I agree there seems to be a "JRPG pass" when it comes to criticism of new entries into beloved old franchises.
I don't understand all the love for this game. I got it due to all the hype and, idk man... stiff animation, mediocre gameplay and everything else. Terrible dialogue. Very repetitive. It's not outright bad, but I just don't get it. Everything about it feels "bargain bin".
Well shucks. My ps+ already expired and now I'm just waiting for the remainder of my psnow to get converted to ps+ premium in June. I'll miss out on a few. This is one I'd actually have played instead of most ps+ games the past year.
These services are a good deal for someone who doesn't already have a backlog. And for retro stuff, as usual you're better off just putting together a good emulation setup yourself.
@Ken_Kaniff yeah it's kind of a disappointment. I don't have time for a bunch of "okay" big games, and the indies that show up are either meh, old, or available for a very short time.
I'm leaning away from game subscriptions. 9 times out of 10 they're games I have zero interest in anyway. Better off just being more careful about what I buy.
I bet the Avengers flop did hurt it. Also it wasn't released while any Guardians of the Galaxy movie was in theaters, so they didn't get that promotional bump. Or maybe they just have too high of expectations.
Hopefully Death Squared is fun. I did get PSNow on quite the sale last year, so I can't complain. But for people who are not into GTA, this is not impressive in the slightest.
@Twixmix42 to me, the idea of a mini-game isn't a bad thing. As if I have time for more big stuff. But I've got no interest in Borderlands anything and Tina is an annoying character to begin with.
One of my first and one of my favorite ps4 games. Some serious frustrations here and there, but it's uniqueness outweighs them. A lock on function would have fixed combat.

Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Extra, Premium Games for July 2022?
Crash 4 and Stray made this a great month.
Re: Feature: Your Most Anticipated PS5, PS4 Games for the Rest of 2022
Hmm, nothing really. I'm just poking through my backlog these days.
Re: Rumour: PS Plus Extra, Premium Games for July 2022 Possibly Leaked
Stray makes it all worth it. I wonder if FF7 Intermission works on PS4?
Re: PS Plus Essential Monthly Games for July Are Available Now on PS5, PS4
@bindiana Yeah. Arcadedeggon isn't showing up at all. Usually I wait a few days or even a week til it gets sorted out because glitchiness is the norm.
Re: PS Plus Essential PS5, PS4 Games for July 2022 Announced
Awesome month! Both Crash and Stray.
Re: Reaction: PS Plus' PS5, PS4 Restart Is Welcome and Smart

Re: Sony Is Still Gaming's Second Biggest Money Maker, But Looks Set to Be Overtaken
Eh, it's like Disney pouring enormous amounts of money into things that aren't interesting anymore.
Re: Zenless Zone Zero Is a Super Stylish Action RPG from Genshin Impact Dev miHoYo
@NinjaWaddleDee same. I assume it's going to be a style over substance grindfest like Genshin Impact since that's their business model.
Re: Nintendo Switch Has Now Outsold PS4 in USA
@Cyrus29 and here I thought I was the only one. Already played BOTW on the Wii U so I'm not in a rush either.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 426
Still working on that Kaze and the Wild Masks world 4 boss. Frustrating as all heck.
Re: Video: Is It Time to Leave Last-Gen Behind?
They're still making Sega Genesis cartridges, so my PS4 should be safe for a while.
Re: Sony Is Predicting Improved PS5 Stock Availability
I'll still wait for a slim.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 425
Kaze and the Wild Masks. Great precise control and the level design is on point.
Re: Horizon Forbidden West Patch 1.13 Out Now, Here Are All Patch Notes
Now would have been a good release time, far enough away from Elden Ring. Just in time for summer questing.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 424
Kaze and Ni No Kuni II are my main games this weekend. Looks like lots of rain so time for something colorful!

Re: Poll: What Do You Expect from Retro PlayStation Games on PS5, PS4?
@Milktastrophe I'm an old fart and I need save states to get more than 5 feet in old games.
Re: It Takes Two Movie Officially Underway at Amazon, and The Rock Is Involved Too
Is there really any demand for all these games to be turned into movies?
Re: Test Your PlayStation General Knowledge - Issue 7
I did best at the ones I guessed at.

@Mauzuri funny you should mention that. I thought DQ11 was alright. Not impressive, but playable, but with baaad music. But I agree there seems to be a "JRPG pass" when it comes to criticism of new entries into beloved old franchises.
Re: PS Now Members Get Four More PS4 Games This Month
I was too apprehensive to buy Wilds, so I'm glad to see this. Savage Planet was good fun til I got stuck and stopped caring.
Re: SpongeBob Remaster Already Free to Download Through PS Plus
@eM1x029 the middle tier.

@Johnnycide yeah, Wattam was quite the let down.

Re: The Outbound Ghost Is a Scarily Cute 2.5D RPG Haunting PlayStation Soon
@TowaHerschel7 this looks like the game for me. I'm all about ghouls and milk steak.
Re: Did Xbox Game Pass Execs Just Out PS5, PS4's Rumoured PS Plus Reboot?
@Grimwood Netflix has a few gems, though. Worth having for 2 months a year, I'd say.
Re: Celebrate Journey’s 10th Anniversary with Traveler: A Journey Symphony, a Re-Imagining of the Soundtrack
10 years? Wow! Played through it multiple times and enjoyed it every time.
Re: PS Now Subscribers Score Four New PS4 Games in March 2022
@Ken_Kaniff yeah it's kind of a disappointment. I don't have time for a bunch of "okay" big games, and the indies that show up are either meh, old, or available for a very short time.
Re: Permanent PS Now Games Leaving the Service without Much Notice
I'm leaning away from game subscriptions. 9 times out of 10 they're games I have zero interest in anyway. Better off just being more careful about what I buy.

Re: Sackboy Joins Aloy in the Forbidden West with Free Horizon Costumes
Neat! There's a number of free costumes on the store I wasn't aware of. Cute.
Re: Could PS3, PS Vita Closures Be on the Cards After Wii U, 3DS Announcements?
I'm fine with it. They supported the PS3 a long time and I got lots of use and fun out of it. Old purchases are still downloadable.
Re: PS Now's Four New Games Available to Stream and Download on PS5, PS4
Hopefully Death Squared is fun. I did get PSNow on quite the sale last year, so I can't complain. But for people who are not into GTA, this is not impressive in the slightest.
Re: Horizon Forbidden West's 656-Page PS5, PS4 Strategy Guide Confirms Over 40 Machines
@nessisonett yeah, that's the main reason to have one. They're just cool.
Re: Hands On: They Made Destruction AllStars on PS5 Good
Hopefully people are still playing it when I do eventually get a PS5.
Re: Poll: Are You Happy With Your PS Plus Games for February 2022?
@Twixmix42 to me, the idea of a mini-game isn't a bad thing. As if I have time for more big stuff. But I've got no interest in Borderlands anything and Tina is an annoying character to begin with.
So yeah, a crappy month as a PS4 owner.

Re: Reaction: Activision Blizzard Buyout Is Devastating for PS5, PS4
Semi - monopolies everywhere in our economy. Ah well. It's out of my control. Not like i need games to live.
Re: Marble It Up!
Saw a speedrun of this on pc. Looks good but they may have abandoned the ps4 port.
Re: Poll: How Would You Rate PS Plus in 2021?
As Ps4 player, only FF7R and Concrete Genie were enjoyable to me. And maybe I'll give Control another shot. Most was just not my cup of tea.
Re: You Can Create Quests for Resources in Horizon Forbidden West on PS5, PS4
That sounds good. I like streamlined guides in games rather than having to look up guides and help on my phone.
