Graphically it looks whatever. The textures on the models is really poor. Not to mention the hair work on Gollum, doesn’t look next gen at all. Considering they are focusing only on next gen I somewhat wonder why it looks current gen or even in parts like @mergatro1d have mentioned, a PS3 game.
Sadly I’ve been already spoiled by some a-holes on Twitter. They posted screenshots from major plot points. It’s unavoidable I guess, unless you honestly disconnect from social media until whenever Sony decides to release it.
Huge bummer since it was my most wanted game this generation. Still have my physical preorder at GameStop and all.
Heck, I’ll double dip if they release a digital one at the end of the month.
@GADG3Tx87 Go to web archive website and paste the address of the actual page, rewind it to 2018 September for example and you'll see that it never had it to begin with.
@djape The patch is not a "fix" sorta speak. It's a whole system file overhaul. It reduces the install size of the game by around 30GB (down from 100GB+ prior to the patch). Also, it improves zone loading times, textures and other QoL improvements. The game prior ran well and I had zero issues with it. Been playing since Morrowind expansion.
From the official website: "Once this update is complete, you will see major improvements to the game’s load time and the speed at which assets are loaded into the world.
Most notably, this change dramatically reduces the patch sizes for all future updates, and it results in a major reduction of space taken up by the client on your machine’s hard drive. Our console players will feel this improvement most strongly, and PC/Mac players also benefit from this change."
It's literally 3 years later after launch, I honestly don't see the big deal. It doesn't take away from your experience whatsoever nor does it mean that every PlayStation exclusive will release on PC at some point. It is more of a marketing for the platform holder, get PC gamers onboard. Cause we all know where you're going to be able to play HZD2, and that's a PS5 and PS5 only. Even if it comes out on PC some years later, those who really wanted to play it, already did. If you're fine waiting 3+ years for games to come out on your platform, then hats off, you're the most patient person in the world or had no interest in it to begin with.
Pre-ordered but I wish I didn't. Online play is dead which is ironic since the game relies on it a lot. I don't have anyone on my friends list who owns the game so it's just money wasted. Concept looks cool and the gameplay seems fun from the offline mode that they have, but otherwise it's dead.
Performance mode with HDR enabled is the way to go on the Pro. Barely any noticeable difference between the two unless you're sitting super close to the TV.
@get2sammyb Well, I agree, but considering The Amazing Spider-Man 2 made them around 800 million in the box office without any Marvel involvement, they can definitely earn enough with the franchise by themselves moving forward. Will it be a critical hit with the fans? That remains to be seen.
And I don't think it should affect Marvel Games relationship with SIE on future Spider-Man games. I'm pretty sure a contract was already signed for at least another game if not two.
"...it didn’t confirm the news live on stage, smiling smugly like Xbox chief Phil Spencer, while hordes of brainless corporate cheerleaders hooted and hollered" This ^, 100%. Subtle, cavalier move by Sony that is just as effective, if not more that standing on stage and bragging about we acquired 10 studios, yay us.
I’m attending this year with a friend, we both live in Cologne so that’s a no brainer. Mainly looking forward to try Borderlands 3, MediEvil and Concrete Genie and just buy a bunch of game soundtracks on vinyl. Normally I’m not a huge fan of Gamescom since it’s overcrowded as hell and the queues can last anywhere from 3-6 hours depending on the game.
Sony still owns the Death Stranding I.P. (just like Detroit, Heavy Rain and Journey) so whether it comes out on PC in a year or two after doesn't make a difference - just extra cash for them. Like others have mentioned, the bulk of the sales will be on PS4 anyways.
And again, I thought that was kinda common knowledge that it would be PS4/PC release from the announcement.
Agreed. The game also 'started' for me when I reached the lost lake camp and Iron Mike. Anything that came before felt like a prologue, especially Tucker's camp. The thing is, Lost Lake gives you the best options in terms weapons and bike upgrades up until that point in the game so it's worth doing the mission to not only enjoy the story but gain access to bike upgrades and guns. This is also a point where Deacon turns into a super developed and dare I say, likeable character. Without spoiling anything, wait until you reach the next camps, that is where it becomes even more interesting.
I started playing on 1.04 and I have yet to encounter any major bugs. Pop-ins sure, even some slow texture loading, but nothing major at all that would ruin the experience.
I honestly don't get the accusations against Bend Studio or CD Projekt RED for cutting content then presenting it on a silver platter for free to earn goodwill with consumers. Gamers these days, everything has to be a conspiracy theory. It's free content, just be happy for once. Jesus Christ.

Re: Skull & Bones Practically Walks the Plank as Game Skips Next Fiscal Year
I would like to see it come out on next gen consoles around 2022/23, but I don't hold my breath.

Will need to see more.

Well, fingers crossed we'll see it on PS5 at some point.
Re: Rumour: Assassin's Creed PS5 Reveal Is Just Around the Corner
@Dodoo Origins and Odyssey are a must imho. Quite a departure from the classic AC games but that's a good thing.
Re: Poll: Did You Buy Final Fantasy VII Remake?
Got my Deluxe Edition 3 days early. Still playing it and loving every minute of it.

Re: Rumour: God of War PC Port Speculation Fuelled by Missing Label
It was debunked. It never had “Only on PlayStation” logo on the page. Even back in 2018 when it launched.
Re: God of War: Fallen God Is a New Comic Series Covering the Time Between Greek and Norse Eras
Can’t wait. I really liked the prequel comic to God of War (PS4) that launched a couple of years ago.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 316
DOOM Eternal obviously!
Re: Twitter Isn't Too Happy About This Clip of The Last of Us 2 Gameplay
Nitpicking, Twitter edition.
Re: Rumour: Tales from the Borderlands 2 Teased, Redux Version of Original Game Planned
I’ll buy it in an instant if true! Tales from the Borderlands is by far the best Telltale game ever released.

100GB for a Battle Royale? You gotta be joking.
Re: Ghost of Tsushima Pre-Order Info and Various Editions Detailed
Went with Special Edition like I do with every single Sony first party unless it's Uncharted or TLOU which I aim for a collector's edition.

Re: Classic PlayStation Podcast PS I Love You XOXO Returns Next Week
@Shigurui 100% agree.
Re: Xbox Series X Has a Share Button, Hellblade Sequel
I feel this whole thing was slapped at the last moment just so they can beat Sony to it and not repeat the same mistake from last gen’s unveiling.

FL4K as my main for sure (Master Skill Tree) and Amara as an alt. Level 17 with FL4K already and he’s kicking some serious butt.

@kohiba99 a PS3 title graphically? Am I missing something here? It looks current gen considering the art direction.
