Re: Sony Battling The Last of Us 2 Spoiler Videos As Major Plot Points Leak Online

slampog

Sadly I’ve been already spoiled by some a-holes on Twitter. They posted screenshots from major plot points. It’s unavoidable I guess, unless you honestly disconnect from social media until whenever Sony decides to release it.

Huge bummer since it was my most wanted game this generation. Still have my physical preorder at GameStop and all.

Heck, I’ll double dip if they release a digital one at the end of the month.

Re: The Elder Scrolls Online Patch 2.00 Requires 67GB Download, Makes Huge Overall Improvements

slampog

@djape The patch is not a "fix" sorta speak. It's a whole system file overhaul. It reduces the install size of the game by around 30GB (down from 100GB+ prior to the patch). Also, it improves zone loading times, textures and other QoL improvements. The game prior ran well and I had zero issues with it. Been playing since Morrowind expansion.

From the official website: "Once this update is complete, you will see major improvements to the game’s load time and the speed at which assets are loaded into the world.

Most notably, this change dramatically reduces the patch sizes for all future updates, and it results in a major reduction of space taken up by the client on your machine’s hard drive. Our console players will feel this improvement most strongly, and PC/Mac players also benefit from this change."

Re: Not Every PS4 Exclusive Guaranteed for PC Release, Says PlayStation Boss

slampog

It's literally 3 years later after launch, I honestly don't see the big deal. It doesn't take away from your experience whatsoever nor does it mean that every PlayStation exclusive will release on PC at some point. It is more of a marketing for the platform holder, get PC gamers onboard. Cause we all know where you're going to be able to play HZD2, and that's a PS5 and PS5 only. Even if it comes out on PC some years later, those who really wanted to play it, already did. If you're fine waiting 3+ years for games to come out on your platform, then hats off, you're the most patient person in the world or had no interest in it to begin with.

Re: Spider-Man Movie Dispute Raises Video Game Concerns

slampog

@get2sammyb Well, I agree, but considering The Amazing Spider-Man 2 made them around 800 million in the box office without any Marvel involvement, they can definitely earn enough with the franchise by themselves moving forward. Will it be a critical hit with the fans? That remains to be seen.

And I don't think it should affect Marvel Games relationship with SIE on future Spider-Man games. I'm pretty sure a contract was already signed for at least another game if not two.

Re: Reaction: Sony Swagger on Display with Insomniac Games Acquisition

"...it didn’t confirm the news live on stage, smiling smugly like Xbox chief Phil Spencer, while hordes of brainless corporate cheerleaders hooted and hollered" This ^, 100%. Subtle, cavalier move by Sony that is just as effective, if not more that standing on stage and bragging about we acquired 10 studios, yay us.

Re: Poll: Are You Hyped for Gamescom 2019?

slampog

I’m attending this year with a friend, we both live in Cologne so that’s a no brainer. Mainly looking forward to try Borderlands 3, MediEvil and Concrete Genie and just buy a bunch of game soundtracks on vinyl. Normally I’m not a huge fan of Gamescom since it’s overcrowded as hell and the queues can last anywhere from 3-6 hours depending on the game.

Re: Rumour: Death Stranding Is a Timed PS4 Exclusive, Coming to PC

slampog

Sony still owns the Death Stranding I.P. (just like Detroit, Heavy Rain and Journey) so whether it comes out on PC in a year or two after doesn't make a difference - just extra cash for them. Like others have mentioned, the bulk of the sales will be on PS4 anyways.

And again, I thought that was kinda common knowledge that it would be PS4/PC release from the announcement.

Re: Soapbox: Days Gone Is the Biggest 180 I've Ever Done on a Video Game

slampog

Agreed. The game also 'started' for me when I reached the lost lake camp and Iron Mike. Anything that came before felt like a prologue, especially Tucker's camp. The thing is, Lost Lake gives you the best options in terms weapons and bike upgrades up until that point in the game so it's worth doing the mission to not only enjoy the story but gain access to bike upgrades and guns. This is also a point where Deacon turns into a super developed and dare I say, likeable character. Without spoiling anything, wait until you reach the next camps, that is where it becomes even more interesting.
