Re: Sony Fans Bicker Over Ghost of Tsushima PS5 Paywall

@notbrianblessed I 100000% agree with you. The entitlement of people nowadays is beyond ridiculous.

Just because Microsoft does it it doesn’t mean Sony has to follow suit. If you’re really bothered by this, switch to Xbox or vote with your wallets, but bickering like 10 year old kids who didn’t get an extra $10 allowance to spend on such an incredible game that comes only once every so many years is pathetic.

Re: Guerrilla: Cross-Gen Has Not Limited Horizon Forbidden West in Any Way

I don’t see what the fuss is about. Project started on PS4 and was always intended to release on that platform. What do you want, for them to cancel the PS4 version just to please the early adopters?
It’s exactly what Colin Moriarty had said a year ago, before even the announcement. Same for the new God of War.

I am totally okay with this.

Re: Veteran Sony Bend Directors Depart After Decades

Can't blame them, they've been in the studio since the beginning. 20+ years is A LOT by any measure. Sony Bend will be fine, they still have veteran producers who have stayed with the studio plus "new blood" is always good.

Dan Houser left Rockstar Games earlier in the year too and he's also from a writer's standpoint and creative lead - on another level.

I'm looking forward to whatever the studio does next!

Re: Bethesda Games Are Looking Increasingly Unlikely on PS5

@thefourfoldroot Exactly my thought. Basically he's not 100% confirming nor denying the fact. He obviously wants people to convert to Xbox and sign-up for GamePass. Starfield is probably a couple of years away. TES 6 won't come out for another 3-4 years I reckon. Doesn't mean anything now, in 2-3 years time, perhaps.

Re: Gamers Will Happily Pay $70 for PS5 Games, Argues Analyst

@ShogunRok Completely agree here. Listen, since the pandemic hit, I've been earning less, my wife lost her job and has been unemployed for more than half a year. This is significant for me. Paying $70 for a game is A LOT right now, and I'm sure I am not the only one.

I am a huge PlayStation fan since the first console and have owned all of them up until the new PS5. Love the exclusives which frankly are the main draw to the platform but man, Series X and S are really enticing now, combined with GamePass + Bethesda and EA Play all in once low subscription (I found deals for around $10 a month for Ultimate) - Xbox is starting to look really REALLY good right now, especially in today's economy. Hell, I'm honestly considering switching at least for the next few years when the job market recovers and I can just jump back to PS5 and enjoy its exclusives, but as of right now, can't beat that GamePass combo of $10/$15 a month.

Re: Horizon Forbidden West Built from the 'Ground Up' for PS5

slampog

They were numerous rumors that the Horizon: Forbidden West and Miles Morales were planned for PS4 first and then development shifted to PS5 as well. I can definitely see an advantage in the PS5 versions such as instant load times, better textures/resolution/framerates, effects, draw distances, ray tracing, audio and perhaps character models. That’s a lot of advantage to justify an upgrade to the latest hardware although the core gameplay is obviously designed with last gen in mind.

Can’t wait for Digital Foundry analysis of Miles Morales between the PS4 and PS5 versions.

Re: Soapbox: Screw Sony's PS5 Game Pricing, I'll Just Wait for Sales

slampog

I live in Germany and prices have been ridiculous here for years. Normally I’d just buy the games in UK since with the shipping and conversion rate it’s way cheaper than paying full price here. 70€ for a new PS4 standard game release is normal, can’t fathom paying 80€ now considering the economy and all.

I’ll either 1. Buy only Sony AAA on release day for full price and wait for a sale on third party games. Or 2. Just wait for sales altogether like Sammy suggested.
