@get2sammyb I see that quite a few reviews berate the camera control and the fact that inside building views can be blocked. Have you experienced anything like this and is it really that bad, or just slightly annoying?
All the games listed at the top of this article have no appeal to me whatsoever. These days I'm just looking to play games that entertain me. I played the demo of Outlast 2 the other day and I thought "I'm just finding this too stressful and not enjoyable"!! I finished Ratchet and Clank the other day and the entire experience just made me feel like I did when playing R&C on my PS2, just bloody good fun.
For me, this generation's games that I've enjoyed are:
Elder Scrolls on-Line
Everybody's gone to the rapture
The Last of Us
Ratchet & Clank
At the moment I'm only really looking forward to The Last Guardian to be honest. If it can capture any of the joy I got from playing Ico then I'll be one happy b4stard!!
If there is anything that would put me off getting a game, it's a game that aligns itself with pillow tongued, **** wangler Jamie Oliver. The blokes a leaky **** moron!!!!
Way to go with mocking mental health and senile dementia! Lets all sit back and point and laugh at mental health issues like a bunch of inbred victorians at a freak show!
I suppose with Inside there was never a huge amount of 'stuff' going on all at once on screen. Bar the amazing lighting effects and being chased by dogs and guards, most of the time you we're alone.
With regards to the ending......What the absolute Feck was that all about?!?!?!? Amazing game though
Daft question, but, can you do anything with PSVR without having a PS4 Camera? Seems a bit daft not to include the camera for an extra £30 if the headset is useless without it.
@Drawfull you need to 'discover' the creature first by pressing L2 and analyze the creature. Once you've done that you can press the Options button and then move the icon over the creature you've just discovered. There is then an option to Rename and Upload. You can do this with trees and plants as well.
I've only just realised that you can find abandoned ship, which you can then fix-up and use!!! I've just broken into an abandoned plant of some sort by blowing the doors off and then finding some blueprints. Even with this early release of the game there is far more to do than I though there'd be. It's simply brilliant.
Oh, and I fed my first creature today and when you do that, said creature get's a Smiley icon over it
I'm loving this game so far. I've played for a couple of hours now and to be honest simply roaming around a planet, finding aliens to speak with, visiting a space station and discovering flora and fauna is brilliant. You make loads of units by simply discovering new creatures and areas and uploading them.
If the entire game is randomly/procedurally generated then will each playthrough be different? And if it's randomly generated then how will each player see the same planets and animals?
Blood Curse was one of my favourite games on the PS3. It was as mad as a bucket of frogs, creepy as fook and boat loads of fun. An upgraded PS4 version would be excellent. Maybe not the episodic drip-feed that we got with the PS3 version though.
I loved the Dark Brotherhood quests in Skyrim and can't wait for the DLC to some to ESO. I've only just started playing ESO again after a break of about 6 months and now I'm up to Lvl 38 there are loads of quests again and I'm thoroughly enjoying it
Who here remembers Captain Blood on ST, Amiga and Speccy? NMS sounds like it's going to be the bastard child of Elite and Captain Blood!!!! To me, that could make NMS one of THE gaming leaps that gaming really really needs. I just can't wait!!!!
@get2sammyb Thanks for the heads-up, I'll give this a miss then unless it ends up being free on PSN. EGTTR is now one of my all time favourite games and an absolute gem when it comes to story and emotions.
Hhmm, just had a quick play on this. You're basically a Russian child who's survived some sort of global 'failed experiment' and society has to be built again from scratch. You have to mine for minerals and help build things, get assigned tasks by the Ministry of Labour and build stuff. You're basically a slave. It's not really my cup of tea and the whole Communist Russia setting seems really oppressive to me and a bit miserable (not that Communist Russia was renowned for being hive of humour and entertainment). Think Terraria, Minecraft with dark Communist Russia undertones.
Can't wait for the Dark Brotherhood update!!! The whole Dark Brotherhood quests in Skyrim were simply amazing. The only thing I'd have an issue with is the fact that you may need to kill somebody stealthily in their bed and you're there skulking about being all quiet and some armour clad player comes in jumping about or stand there dancing. It would kill the atmosphere somewhat
@FullbringIchigo yep that's all I'm after to be honest. Maybe some different fonts. Out of my entire library of games I only realistically play 3-4 over a week and it's no real hardship to go to the library and add it to the XMB.
This is a message I sent to Chinese Room. I felt I had to as it was just an amazing experience.... Email Address: [email protected]
Message: Hi,
I just wanted to drop you a message to give everybody involved in EGTTR a massive 'Well Done & Thank You'!!! I finished the game last night and once the credits had rolled I just sat looking at my Vita (I had to play it on Remote Play as my missus was watching The Only Way is Essex!!!!).
At the tender age of 42 I can quite honestly say that no other game has ever affected me in the way that EGTTR did. Since playing games on my Speccy back in 1984 I've never taken such an emotional hit as I did last night. At several points I completely forgot that I was playing a game. I became so immersed in what was happening that I simply had to know what was going to happen to these poor people. I cared/disliked (delete as applicable) every single one of the characters I came across. The 3 stand-out points for me were 1-where the young woman was sat on the stage singing to her baby, 2 - Where Frank was up by the Windmill talking to Mary and 3 - where Lizzie was talking to Stephen on the phone at the station and said 'Oh there's some planes flying over.....'. Each one was just unbelievably powerful....
As you can see I was a kid in the 80's living in a small village in Staffordshire and your attention to detail was just superb. From the electronic Simon game, the rubix cube, the phones, the BT phone boxes, the commodore 64s (spit, terrible machines!!), the cars (Granadas, Fiestas, Transit vans, Cortinas) through to the brilliant BMX's, the bulky mobile phones, the TV's, the 80's decor in the houses and to the brilliant view of the BMX lying next to a jump made from a piece of wood and some bricks!!! It's almost as if you'd downloaded my memories from 1980 through to 1987!!
Finally (it's all getting a bit creepy now isn't it?) I'd like to say how amazing the sound and music was during the entire game. The bird sounds just reminded me of walking through fields whilst on holiday in Tenby in Wales. The choral music and effects matched to each and every section of the game and made it even more of an emotional trip.
Thanks you to everybody involved, it was one hell of a trip
Cheers,
Stu..

@get2sammyb I had I am Alive on Ps3 and initially thought it was brilliant, but, the total lack of direction of where you were supposed to go just got too much for me and I gave up. It could have quite easily been something akin to TLOU but it just lacked that special 'something'. The toxic smoke/dust was a good idea, but, when you just stumble around aimlessly walking into walls and then dying as you run out of oxygen just made it too hard for me.
@TheMightyPunram Thanks, just going to download it now . Having just finished Metro Redux (both 2033 and Last Light) and spent far too many hours playing Elder Scroll On-Line I really fancy something a bit more esoteric.
On a side note, if you like Myst type games I'd highly recommend playing Everybody's gone to the Rapture. I finished it last week and I absolutely loved it.
@Neolit PS4 is cabled into my router and I've just enabled Direct Connection and had a quick blast on Tearaway Unfolded which seemed to run pretty damn smoothly. Looks like you've sorted it. Cheers mate
I'm always using Remote Play on my Vita whilst my missus watches 'The only way is Essex' or the horrendous 'Come dine with me'!! The major issues I have is that the wi-fi is awful on the Vita and I almost have to be sat on top of my Wi-Fi AP for it work well. I've turned off 'Wifi powersave mode' and it's still pretty poor. The games I've played that work well are 'Everybody's Gone to the Rapture', 'FFXIX' and 'DriveClub'. Even with poor wifi I think it's a fantastic addition to a great machine.
Sorry to sound stupid, but, is this purely a multi-player game? I agree with @SonyInfinity that I'd love to play a single player RPG based in the Star Wars world with all the characters.
I'd like to see how the contagion started, the effect it had on society and it's eventual downfall. It'd be great to be given the option to either play as a government 'goon' trying to keep order and keep society going or as an anarchic rebellious type trying to destroy society so it can start afresh.
@glassmusic Yep, with you 100% there. i think it's a great service and a damn site more reliable that Virgin! For what we are charged I think the level of service is excellent. In relative terms we're getting a Gold/Platinum service for basically the cost of a Bronze level. Some businesses I work with would love the same level of reliability from their ISP.
To be honest I tend to spend hardly any time in the actual menu. I fire up the pS4 and either go into NetFlix/Amazon/BBC or play a game. And that's pretty much it. I'm probably the only person in the entire universe who actually like the location of the new PS Store icon. Since it's moved it works every time, whereas before it would sometimes fail to connect and I'd have to stop/start my PS4's internet connection.

I'm not saying it'll be boring, because how can being able to tour the entire universe be boring, it just might starting feeling somewhat lonely without speaking to another being for light-years at a time!!!
@gingerfrog Yeah I'm going to get a 64gb card. I've got a 4gb card (!!!) which means I keep having to remove stuff to install new stuff . Where did you get yours from and how much?
