Re: PS5's Astro Bot Doesn't Support PSVR2 Because It Was Never Designed to Do So

Bluetrain7

I get that people wanted a PSVR2 version, but it does make sense from the developer wanting to reach a wider audience to shoot for just a PS5 version. Everyone has their preferred platform, but more people are able to play Astro Bot this way and for that I'm happy. The bitter anger shown directed at the development team by some commenters is unfortunate. It seems like there was no winning for them in this case. They're just trying to make a fun game.

@RicebinBernacky IGN may be the "give everything a 7" publication, but PushSquare consistently ranks among the lowest scores on any recent game according to Metacritic. Not trying to single them out as suspect, but it is pretty interesting how low their review scores come down. I've come to take their reviews with more than a grain of salt.

Re: Reaction: The Problem with PlayStation Right Now

Bluetrain7

@Lonejester Yeah, there's a reason this is a games website and not an economics forecasting one, which is made clear here. That sentence raised my eyebrows too, but so much of the public goes on "feeling" rather than stats. Things in many places are looking up and the overall forecast is slow growth plus continued disinflation. The games industry is a portion of the economy, but the tech industry in general is really a different beast. https://www.imf.org/en/Publications/WEO/Issues/2024/01/30/world-economic-outlook-update-january-2024

Re: The Last of Us 2 Dates Its Grounded Documentary for 2nd February

@themightyant March 2020 was when remote work started for a lot of companies (not sure when ND employees went home). So we should have interviews from the first announcement in 2016 until likely March 2020 (only a few months before launch). So hopefully we get a good sense of the overall development. But you’re right that we may miss some of the in-the-moment reaction to the leaks and launch. Having a retrospective analysis of that may be really interesting though as it can put that time into context. Regardless, I’m excited for this doc.

God of War Ragnarök: Valhalla is such an amazing gift from Sony Santa Monica. I hadn’t played the base game since January, but the controls came right back to me and it has been a blast. I’m really thankful that we got an epilogue to the Norse saga. I haven’t finished the story part yet but I’m loving the allusions to his past.

Re: God of War Ragnarok: Valhalla Announced, Free DLC Out Next Week on PS5, PS4

Bluetrain7

Genuinely excited for this FREE dlc. I’m not generally a rougelike fan, but I trust Sony Santa Monica to make this mode fun. And with five difficulty modes, I’m not afraid that I’ll be banging my head against a wall as a newbie to the genre. It being an epilogue and having some story elements is a nice bonus. I still think they’re cooking up a stopgap dlc or shorter game to bridge to the next full entry. Any additional GoW is good news for me. And to get it next week is just fantastic.

Re: Reaction: Has Sony Put Together the Worst PS Plus Month Ever?

Bluetrain7

I'm in agreement that the price hike is ridiculous and this slate of games is not great. But I feel like PushSquare plays a constant game of "poke the bear". The discontent is there but this site seems to enjoy stoking the fire. I get it that the articles get clicks, but it creates a toxic environment.

Re: Konami Forced to Clarify MGS Master Collection Is 1080p, Up to 60FPS on PS5, PS4

Bluetrain7

I truly don’t understand why these companies don’t get out in front of these issues before they become rumors. When you announce the game then you should announce the specs. The new Red Dead Redemption port runs at 4K on PS5. We didn’t find this out until reviewers got their hands on it but people were upset at announcement because Rockstar gave the vague “PS4 Pro enhancements”. Then Konami puts the Switch version in front of media outlets and everyone assumes 720p/30 fps is the target when now they clarify it’s 1080p/60 fps on all other consoles. Just say it from the start companies, please!

Edit: And gamers could just try to chill too including me. The pitchforks come out quickly. Just saying it would be easier for the companies not to have to answer questions later if they gave info up front and less confusing for customers.

Re: Soapbox: I'm Sorry, But Your Cute Cat Game Isn't That Great

Bluetrain7

Of course this was written by Liam. The only writer more miserable than Sammy on the staff. These articles don't seem to offer actual meaty analysis but rather to stir the pot. See the now deleted "What's wrong with Naughty Dog" article. I come here less and less because of this type of writing. There are other Playstation sites that are more worthy of my time.

Re: Reaction: PS Plus' PS5, PS4 Restart Is Welcome and Smart

Bluetrain7

I love it. My only quibble is the lack of a "favorites" list. PS Now had a Netflix-style favorites queue/list. It was helpful to save games that you were interested in playing later. It's frustrating to only have Stream or Download as the options especially when it is a simple feature that was already on PS Now. Still very satisfied with the expanded PS Plus and can't wait to see where it goes from here.

Re: PS Plus Extra, PS Plus Premium Now Live Across the USA

Bluetrain7

how is there not an ability to make a list/queue like on Netflix? I see that you can add to Wishlist but I'd like a separate list just for PS Plus service games. Especially for streaming PS3 titles, it would be nice to have a list since they cannot be downloaded.

Re: Annapurna Interactive Showcase Returns This July

Love the variety that this studio allows in the indie space. Picked up Telling Lies, Gorogoa, and A Memoir Blue in the Days of Play sale. They have published some of my favorite indie games (Kentucky Route Zero, The Unfinished Swan, What Remains of Edith Finch, Donut Country) and I can't wait for Stray. Still need to pick up Twelve Minutes too. Excited to try The Artful Escape and Outer Wilds on the new PS Plus as well.

Re: Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One Can Turn Combat Off, But Here's What You Miss

Bluetrain7

This will be the first game in the series that I pass on. I appreciate the fact that you can turn off the combat, but its inclusion in the first place is just confusing and troubling. And the overall "hipster" Sherlock direction of the art style and characters is disappointing in general. The series had its bugs and hiccups, but the style and deduction work was what make it special for me. I want to solve mysteries, not play a third-person shooter.

Re: Talking Point: Did PlayStation Showcase 2021 Deliver on the Hype?

Bluetrain7

Wolverine, GT7, Uncharted Remastered, Spider-Man 2, Alan Wake, KotOR, Project Eve, and closing with GoW2. There were some duds, but if you were disappointed then I don't know what to tell you. I'm sure Sammy and the gang will find a million things to complain about so don't worry about having miserable fans on your side.

Re: Sony Fans Bicker Over Ghost of Tsushima PS5 Paywall

Bluetrain7

I'm signing out and taking a break from PushSquare. Removing my browser bookmark too. You may not care about one person when your clickbait articles attract 100s of comments, but I find the state of this site to be really sad nowadays. Your articles no longer accurately reflect the mood of players in general. You strive to stir up and "enliven" debates that don't exist beyond an extreme circle of fanboys. I'm really disappointed, Sammy. I'll find a different site that actually gives PlayStation news rather than exaggerated Soapbox articles that stoke console war philosophies and discontent. I do love many members of the community here, but the content providers have sullied a good thing and I would rather be in a place that lifts up the conversation than play in the dirt.

Re: Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut Gets Age Rating for PS5, PS4

Bluetrain7

I put 124 hours into this game (single and multiplayer) and got the platinum. I would absolutely do it all again in a native PS5 version with DLC. I'd plunk down a full $70 for it too. Truly one of my all-time favorite games. It was a dream to play a game version of my favorite samurai films.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 380

Been playing Rift Apart since it unlocked on Thursday night. I’m not trying to rush it, but already at 41% completion. It’s just filled with so much creativity and humor that it’s easy for the hours to pass quickly. The weapons are a blast and the platforming is responsive. I’m loving it to the point that when I finally went for a walk outside, I’m had the soundtrack streaming on Spotify though my headphones as I enjoyed the sunshine. Only wish I had hoverboots.

Re: Beware This Trophy in PS5 Stunner Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart

Bluetrain7

@VerumRex__ Thank you for the video just in case I run into the issue. Also, @get2sammyb, PowerPyx (trophy guide) says this now:
“Note: Even though there are 30 Blizon Crystals, only 29 are needed to pop the trophy since patch v1.001.002 (prior to this all 30 were needed). So you are allowed to miss one of them if you’ve updated your game.”
