My thinking is:
Rockstar announce Remasters for current consoles and will be deleting old remasters from digital stores - new customers buy old remasters as they want the original experience.
Price leaks for new remasters pushing people on the fence to purchase the old remasters thinking it's a bargain, as not much will change in gameplay and graphics.
Rockstar release new remasters and not much has changed. Those few people thinking Rockstar would do an amazing update to each game are disappointed and wait for a sale.

I feel like we just go round in circles with this rumoured silent hill game. I think we all will end up disappointed

Amazing how the bluepoint rumour about them remaking Metal Gear Solid gets shut down in one day of them announcing they are working on an original IP, that this new rumour of an MGS THREE remake is on the cards at another studio and the remasters are in progress. I'll take that bag of salt to go.
Silent Hill rumours still ongoing...

I really don't want to see anymore right now. We have Midnight Suns, Spider-Man 2, Wolverine, Guardians of the Galaxy and the ongoing Avengers. Unless they can come up with some fitting gameplay and story ideas, they are wasting development on an original IP or even highlighting one of Sony's own franchises. I would hate for Naughty Dog to turn around and say they are spearheading an X-Men game, for example, as I would see that as a waste of their potential with their own original storytelling.

I am happy about this as it meant the "playstation hits Nioh" icon became "Nioh Remastered" like it supposed to be.

I really don't want to play collectibles -the video game again on PS5. I will platinum the ps4 versions on ps5 and be done with them. Imagine that the first big announcement of Naughty Dog's involvement on the PS5 is a repackaged remaster, and Insomniac already have their third and fourth title already lined up...

@Juanalf same! Happy to know when the character is coming but glad the showcase is more focused on other games. I don't need any ongoing game updates in the showcase.

If we're remastering a PS3 era collection then I would love a Resistance Trilogy. One franchise that passed me by and I think would do well again.

YES YES YES!!! I have always wanted to play this game in full since getting a wee play of it on Xbox. Day one for me!

Jaffe's opinions swing only to the extremes so I am taking this with a pinch of salt. I would love to see some God of War Ragnarok and if Capcom have the next Resident Evil to show off or Dino Crisis remake.

Yeah, I'm sick of rumours, possibilities, job listings leading to make believe what if games and just general maybes. I am so tired of Sony's silence and they need to change that pronto.

Hades is phenomenal and so addictive right now. I love it. Prefer it over Returnal and Dead Cells right now, but those are my games just now haha I must hate myself.

They delayed a TEASER two months and then only noticed a graphical glitch within 12 minutes of said teaser launching. (estimating 12 minutes as that is when they tweeted "Are you ready?") Turns out they weren't. But I don't understand how they could work on it for 2 months and not have it ready....A TEASER! This isn't even a full trailer, this isn't even a full gameplay video, this is a teaser!

Does that mean Crunchyroll will stop offering three months of game pass for free if you sign up to crunchyroll?

If it's confirmed, that's fine. Doesn't bother me waiting a little more time, and still got games to finish in the mean time.

Considering the install base, Returnal's sales are very good for a Roguelike.

Last of Us Part 2 is inevitable for a "directors cut" but it's a silly name for them. Last of Us Part 2 will have the factions add on but I doubt anything else in the main story. I would love to see more from the scars faction though.

All you had to do EA was release a remastered trilogy and take out the microtransactions of the third game. I am not so interested in a remake.

That's great, I was worried the yearly release would abruptly cease to be and the world would end.

We all want one but inevitably they won't do one. I wish they would because we hardly know anything beyond a couple of titles for 2022 and that's only cause they got delayed. A blog isn't a place to get all the info on new releases or announcements. State of Plays featuring more than one game is the step in the right direction. But I want a big show and multiple deep dives and trailers.

Moss Book 2 peaked my interest. Loved Death Stranding and looking forward to the directors cut. The State of Play was fine, they did what they said they would and I just hope there's another one sooner rather than later.

August 6th is next rumoured date. Popped up even before this July 8th State of Play was rumoured. Hopefully more first party reveals and not just updates. Kinda want to see what 2022 is looking like.

You don't need to show me anything more, and what else more needs to be shown really? Indie showcase - but I heard Sony hates indies? 🤣 I hope this one video states there will be a state of play each month for the rest of the year, cause I am so disappointed at the sound of that line up. Guess I need to hope 21 minutes is enough to change my mind

Great that it has been announced! Surprised it's an expansion rather than standalone. This has pretty much dashed my hopes for a new State of Play for the announcements, but I guess this was one that was leaked awhile ago so it might still happen without this one. That upgrade and price path is god awful though.

@Reeneman Yeah it's absolutely great that they are improving things and it isn't just done at the shipping date.

Luckily I haven't started it yet and can start fresh on PS5!

@Areus Yes! I think as Xbox have their own dedicated team that Playstation should have theirs, helping devs release the PS5 upgrade quicker.

Very excited to see what they will do with Spider-Man 2. Commendable that they keep updating and improving their released games, but I guess it is a testing ground for what will come next for them.

P.S. Sunset Overdrive Remastered if you can, please!

Seriously though, being self employed, I am multiple jobs in one, including promotion. So yes, Sony's "demands" don't seem too much as you should be doing all that anyway. Write a blog and make platform specific trailers because you need to. Sony isn't going to do all that for you, even if they like you.

I like Bloober's stuff, and if anything - this confirms one rumour that was floating around, and in part might confirm another - that Konami are working with a prominent Japanese developer to reboot the Silent Hill franchise. Fingers crossed this is leading to an announcement from Sony. Saw one website say 8th July for their rumoured showcase. With Housemarque, Ghost of Ikishima, Bloober's Silent Hill, Kojima's Death Stranding Director's Cut and other leaks coming out, I think we are in for a really great show from Sony.
