Might as well just print "NOT on Xbox..lol" on each PS5 box.
It's also particularly annoying when PC ports get all the bells and whistles but the PS version is left behind. I recently replayed God of War on PS5 and it still looks really good but it could look and play even better, if they could be bothered to update it.
PC owners are treated with more respect and importance than PS gamers. It's sad but true.
On the final stretch of The Last of Us Part II, despite what some PC reviewers think this is THE best PS4 title.
😉
Could talk about this game for hours but won't on here as don't wish to spoil it for anyone that still hasn't played it. I think it would've been a poorer experience if it had just been a copy of the brilliant first game, but I know plenty of other people think different.
After I'm done with Ellie and co, I think I'll start something which is very different in tone. Kena or GotG, leaning towards Kena at present.
@Spyroescape just stating my opinion. Sucks that Sony are no longer in the exclusive business but that's their decision.
Can't say I'm happy for PC games, they made their choice so they should live with it. Unfortunately that's the modern generation, very self-entitled and expect everything to be available to them.
@get2sammyb The idea the money will go into making games is very cute!
It's a stupid decision, ruins the image of PlayStation and will just lead to more PCMR weirdos on this site. If you need they traffic, just print another Naughty Dog story
😉
I hope the game crashes on PC or corrupts their drive.
@mucc no offence but ***** other players. I doubt Nintendo fans are clamouring for BotW to be released on other platforms, I strongly suspect that Xbox owners aren't up in arms over TES 6 not coming to PlayStation.
Exclusives are important, without these what's the incentive to try and entice people to your platform? Without exclusives the future will just be sports games, shooters and GTA clones.
Sony will make a few extra pennies but the money won't go on making games and better games, just end up in some executives pockets.
@get2sammyb Hmm, I suspect PC gamers won't have to wait that long before Ragnarok is released on their preferred platform.
2 years. Tops.
It's a strange move putting their 'exclusives' onto a different platform. They're not going to sell that many copies on PC, I don't think HZD sold in huge numbers especially not compared to sales on PS4.
Overall I think it devalues the PlayStation brand and key IP. Makes sense for MS to want to reach PC gamers, not sure about Sony.
Do Sony really need competition to be great? Apparently they blitzed the last gen but still managed to put out a number of banging titles, they didn't seem to be resting on their laurels at all.
I still think if you value AAA single player games over everything else, PS is the best place to play. Unless you like cutesy stuff in which case Nintendo is for you.
Halo had something like a 10-15 hour campaign, as a SP gaming fan I think that's ridiculous. Imagine if HFW or God of War had the same, we'd be outraged. I know Halo also has MP and that's what a lot of people are interested in, but right now I still don't think MS are capable of putting out SP games equivalent to a God of War or TLoU.
I generally don't often find myself complaining about a game's length, most that I play seem not to outstay their welcome.
I get that some people don't have as much time as others but rather than expect the developers to compromise their vision, maybe they should do their own homework and be more selective in what they choose to play. There's enough variety out there to suit all tastes.
Depends on the game but if we're talking AAA games than 30-40 hours but can be shorter or longer depending on how many side quests you do or collectibles you look for, or how many times you die!
Playing TLoU 2 at present, God of War recently. I'd hate for either game to be done within 20 hours. Would feel like such a waste of effort on the part of the developers.
Open world games have to be at least 60 hours long to be worthwhile with the very best (RDR2 and The Witcher 3) being closer to 100 hours at least.
Some want to play as many games as possible within as short a timeframe as possible. Can't be missing out on what's Hot and In!
I'm not one of those, happy to take my time with a game especially one that I really enjoy.
Indie games don't need to be that long, ideal length 10-15 hours.
We live in the FOMO Age though, some just gotta keep up with what's trending even if what is turns out to be rubbish.
I put over 800 hours into Star Wars Battlefront 2 but that was over 2 1/2 years!
I've played RDR2 twice and that's over 500 hours.
Football Manager back in the day? 5,000 hours most likely!
All the extra content is optional, nobody's forcing you to buy it let alone play it for that duration. Some on here might think shorter games are better but depends on the game. Every great game I've finished, I've bee glad when I did but also still left wanting more.
Some people seem to just want to play as many games as they can, probably to just keep up with what's trending or seen as the latest IN thing. One day they'll grow up and just want to play what they want, when they want/can and for however long it takes.
In the 'controversial' second half of The Last of Us Part II and looking forward (NOT looking forward) to the challenges that await. They're not bad people, rather they're simply capable of doing bad deeds just like a certain Mr Miller.
It's an outstanding technical achievement and a really well made game. Playing on Hard+ so resources are very scarce but at least knowing what happens means I can prepare myself!
@Flaming_Kaiser Just my opinion and you know that I'm not one of those that are quick to attack Sony.
Lots of contradictory info out there, some saying it didn't sell enough, others saying that sales were good. Others focusing on the bad reviews and saying these were a barrier to a sequel being made, others that these weren't a factor.
It's definitely a bit of a mess and then there was talk that Bend were going to be forced to make an Uncharted game. It just leaves me to feel that Bend aren't treated with as much respect as they deserve, certainly not compared to a ND or Insomniac.
@Orpheus79V @JJ2 when the news first broke that there wouldn't be a sequel, the reason given was bad reviews and it not being seen as a GOTY contender unlike most of their other 'exclusives'. It did sell enough to warrant a sequel.
Either way, it does suck that there won't be a follow-up. I hope Bend's next game is given more respect.
@munstre and there are millions of people that really enjoyed the game and were hoping for a sequel.
I have played worse games than this, a lot of which earned multiple sequels let alone just one.
Days Gone sold enough to merit a sequel that the studio were keen to make. Sure, they can make a new IP but that's not easy as we saw with Days Gone. I understand why they and the fans are a bit pissed off with Sony.
Maybe their new game will also sell well, be popular with enough people that played it and be clearly set up for a sequel only for Sony to pull the plug again, just because it's Metacritic score wasn't high enough. ***** Metacritic, make up your own minds.
@Dezzy70 I don't think it should have been released when it was and it needed a few months to help iron out the kinks. I guess this didn't make sense to Sony as they had Death Stranding on the way and even TLoU 2 was still scheduled for 2019 at the time.
I can understand why there is resentment from some at Bend regarding how them and their game was treated.
I agree that it's a bit slow at the start but once I reached Iron Mike's camp, the story really ramped up and I had some memorable encounters and journey's throughout my time with the game.
Days Gone was treated like ***** by Sony, it did sell enough to merit a sequel but it was the reviews that put Sony off in making one.
This was what was said last year or maybe 2020 when they officially announced there wouldn't be a Days Gone 2.
I enjoyed it as much as I did GoT, maybe it wasn't as polished a game on a technical level but taking on the freakers and other animal variants was more fun than fighting the Mongols.
@Fyz306903 Is that fair though? Should we give in to toxic trolls?
We're all fans of games on here, maybe not the same games but so be it. Variety is the spice of life and all that.

How long will it take before a ND article doesn't attract lots of bitter comments and borderline nutjobs?
2 years? 3? Never?!
Being called a 'beta' just for liking Part II or having to deal with posters that use ethnic slurs within their username, it's getting real tiresome now. These people need to let it go.
As someone who has not that long ago replayed the first game (and is currently replaying the second), I'm not sure about this news.
Maybe they feel some people new to PS would be put off playing an 'old' game or more the case that they're just looking for some easy money. I'll keep an open mind but right now I don't think I'll be buying the remake.
Factions sort of interests me but I'm more of a SP gamer and for me The Last of Us Part II is fine as it is, don't see a need for a Director's Cut. Added DLC for one of the characters mentioned by letter or some sort of flashback sequence, then I'd be up for that.
@Would_you_kindly Talking about the quality of their games, people don't like the conditions then they can leave. Crunch happens at lots of companies and some are guilty of far far worse.
@DarthNigerKiller Wow, that's some name. Cuckmann? Oh dear, your agenda is obvious..
The Last of Us Part II is a fantastic game, I genuinely feel sorry for anyone that didn't enjoy it.
Naughty Dog are head and shoulders above all other developers, Rockstar were once the best but they've become fat and lazy and no longer have the fire. As long as ND ignore the incels and alt-right crazies and continue to make what they want to make, they'll do alright by me and millions of other mature gamers.
I'm currently replaying The Last of Us Part II at present and still blown away by it. Naughty Dog truly are the masters of their craft, ignore the boorish haters out there.
As for their future projects...all about the new SP games, would love a Part III but wouldn't be against something new. Whatever they do, I'm sure it will be worth the wait.
@Texan_Survivor They made and sold enough to warrant a DLC and sequel, as well as it receiving generally favourable reviews. That's the most important thing.
As a Days Gone fan, I regret that this game didn't achieve the same and a sequel was cancelled. Not every new IP is a hit and 8m isn't to be sniffed at. Switch owners want to play Switch exclusives, it's why they bought it not to play third party games. PS and Xbox are more attractive options to the 'casuals' out there, some of which may also pick up the odd exclusive game here or there like Spider-Man and God of War.
I voted for R&C but it was the only brand new release I played.
😉
Other votes included ME LE and Final Fantasy VII remake on PS5. I do have both Kena and GotG in my backlog so look forward to playing them at some point, Resi Village I'll most likely play later on in the year. Not much else interests me, Returnal might one day but not until it's £20 or under.

6 months after it's PS release? 12 months? Place your bets!
Re: PlayStation Reiterates God of War Ragnarok 2022 Release Date
I'm hopeful it will be out this year, Sep/Oct release would be perfect.
GotY talk when were barely into 2022 is a tad boring, it's what is your personal GotY that truly matters.

Of course it will, as will every other game made by Sony Studios.
They're not in the 'exclusives' business anymore, console exclusive will suffice for them. Same with Xbox of course.
Nintendo have the right idea, for once.

Nintendo seem to do just fine selling their games only on their systems, Sony seem to want to follow MS's lead though and that's exactly what MS want.
"Hey, don't buy a PS buy a PC. Then you get Game Pass and all Sony's 'exclusives'!"

@TheRedComet Wow. So Sony will go under if they don't sell a million copies of God of War on PC?
No, of course they won't and that's not even mentioning the amount they earn through PS Plus
It's a stupid move, one that probably has MS laughing their heads off at how dumb Sony are.
Want to play a PS game, buy a bloody PS. At least that's how it used to be.
One day they'll release a game Day One on both PS & PC. That won't change my preference for console gaming but it might do for others.

Xbox have two skus though, be interesting to see the breakdown of S over X.
Game Pass, Game Pass, Game Pass, it's all they've got really.
😉
Maybe one day I'll get one once TES 6 is launched but nothing else appeals.
Re: Rejected Days Gone Sequel Would Have Swimming, Better Animals
Days Gone is a good game that would've been a classic if it'd been an Xbox exclusive.
It's compared with heavyweights like God of War, TLoU 1 & 2 and Horizon Zero Dawn so merely good isn't good enough.
There are worse games than Days Gone out there , may of which earn sequel after sequel after sequel.
It still sucks that part 2 wasn't greenlit, it's pretty obvious from the ending that the sequel could've went to some interesting and strange places.
