Re: The Last of Us 2: Full Story Recap

Crimson_Ridley

@Scollurio
I would be disappointed, sure, but their chilli isn't the only chilli I could eat, as great as it was before. There's plenty more chilli to seek out, and though I'd definitely miss my favourite chilli, in time I'm sure I'd find another that I like.

I couldn't demand the restaurant make the chilli that I want if the restaurant wanted to take their chilli in a different direction. I could review their new chilli or not buy the chilli to show them that I'm displeased with the new direction, in the hopes that in the future, it may make an impact, but it's still their chilli to make.

Side note, all this chilli talk has made me very hungry. 😂

Re: Play Has No Limits Is the PS5's Official Slogan

@nessisonett
Definitely, and I hope they keep it up with this generation. There's always that little bit of doubt that now they're on top again, like with the PS2, they'll make similar mistakes.

Though, I think Sony have learned a lot with the PS3 and success of the PS4 that they'll not allow themselves that mistake again.

Re: Guide: The Last of Us - Full Story Recap

@MightyDemon82

I always think this. It's ND's story to tell, they owe us nothing. People always go on about having your own opinions, but try and stifle creativity and demand changes when it doesn't match up to their own ideas.

If you don't like the direction a story is taken, or if your favourite band has changed their sound, don't follow them anymore, and let new fans appreciate it. I'll make my own judgements on the story at the end of the game, and if I find that I didn't like it, I'll respect ND for their approach and move on.

Re: Poll: How Much Do You Think the PS5 Will Cost?

Crimson_Ridley

PS5 - £549
PS5DE - £449-£479

Those are my predictions. I don't think the DE will be too much cheaper, but then as Fuzzymonkeyfunk mentioned, they may be willing to take a large loss on the system with the intentions of making it back through digital sales.

Also, Pushsquare, embrace your country and give us the UK prices. Let the Americans do currency conversion for once. 😂

Re: PS5's Media Remote Is Super Slick, Includes a Microphone

Crimson_Ridley

@Shinobi1Kenoby
You said everybody wants dark consoles, and white consoles always yellow. I was the contrarion that is saying that not everybody wants a dark console, and white consoles don't always yellow. I'm certainly not the only outlier to this fact either.
You can have your opinion, but generalising just looks bad on you.

Re: PS5's Media Remote Is Super Slick, Includes a Microphone

Crimson_Ridley

@Shinobi1Kenoby "Everybody". I'm afraid you're looking at the one person that loves white consoles, and will happily sell an ugly horrible black console towards a white one when it's released.

Never had any issue with yellowing either. I even have a Super Nintendo that hasn't yellowed that's been in the family since 1992.

Also, not a mormon. Generalising is great, isn't it?

Re: Can PS5 Go On Its Side?

Crimson_Ridley

The design looks even better on its side. I always have my consoles on their side, so this is awesome!

I would have loved if the Playstation logo on the top could be turned, the same as the PS2 so you can orient it depening on how you have the console.

Re: Feature: Predict Sony's PS5 Event with This Yes or No Quiz

Crimson_Ridley

My responses:
No, No, No, Yes, Yes, No, No, No, Yes, Yes, No, Yes, No, Yes, No, Yes, No, Yes, Yes, No

In particular, I answered No to seeing the PS5, because I think this is going to be more about the games, and not the actual console, I reckon that will be shown at another time. I'd like to think Horizon 2 would be shown, but at the same time I'd like for it to be a couple of years in to the console when they're really digging in to its capabilties.

Re: Poll: Predict The Last of Us 2 Review Scores

Crimson_Ridley

I think the Metacritic rating will fall somewhere between 93-95%, but if many of the users of Push Square are given the opportunity to review it, about 30%. In all the years I've been a member of this community, I haven't seen vitriol like has been bred in these past few months.

We all have a common interest, but yet insist on putting others down for what they like to play. That says more about your own insecurities than anyone else can possibly hope to accomplish.

Play games to enjoy the time you have, not to question the time of others.

I can see a few 8's being given, especially if like the first game, there's a few repetitive areas, or some weaker moments. I can see plenty of 9's, mainly from reviewers that enjoy a story-driven single player experience. I can even see some 7's as the game doesn't look like it's going to be something that shifts the gaming landscape, and won't do something that games haven't already done, but will merely be a next step for its own franchise. That's a fair assessment, but won't detract from a fan of the frachise's enjoyment.

Re: PS5 Reveal Event Confirmed for This Week

Crimson_Ridley

@JJ2
If it looks good in 1080p, it'll look even better in 4K. Less stressful production process in a time when they don't have the manpower, and when everything is back to normal, they can reupload in a much higher resolution. That's more than reasonable.

I remember getting so excited for the 360 when I only had a tiny CRT TV, and couldn't read a damn word on Dead Rising. Didn't mean anything to me, I just wanted a new console!

Re: PS5 Reveal Event Confirmed for This Week

Crimson_Ridley

@JJ2 Oh, you can guarantee now there will be people commenting on how "bad" everything looks when it goes up...

EDIT: People commenting "Racism over", please tell me you're joking. They delayed the stream during the fever pitch as people were solely concentrated on that. They stood back, as did every company, out of respect (and more so out of business sense) while this was all new and raw. This will be an ongoing thing for a long time (and has been already for years and years), but businesses need to run, and other aspects of the world we live in need to continue. Coronavirus has already had a devestating impact on the economy, so businesses need to get back to normality sooner rather than later. As sad as it may sound, money has the final say.

Re: The Hardest PS4 Platinum Trophies

Crimson_Ridley

FFIX isn't as hard to Platinum as people think, even without the workarounds. It took me a solid 20 minutes of learning the rhythm to the jumping to get the trophy. I suppose I do come from a background of Guitar Hero/Rock Band full completions, and so rhythmic sections in games don't trouble me too much, but once you learn that after 300 jumps, the speed remains consistent for the last 700, it's not that bad.

Don't watch the screen, learn when you need to change pace and watch out for the double-tap section that happens part-way through, and it's not that bad.

Re: PS5 Reveal Event Scheduled for Thursday Has Been Postponed

Crimson_Ridley

From a political and ethical standpoint, this makes sense. A lot of other companies are showing their support, and for one as big as Sony to not follow suit, it would bring a lot of negative attention from people that are very angry right now, and looking for a fight. Though we may question what this has to do with gaming, politics run through everything in our lives, and sometimes we are forced to partake in them.

My views on the matter are that all lives should matter, and if this was the other way around, with a white person being killed by another ethnicity, it wouldn't elicit the same response, but it's a tragedy nonetheless and should not have happened. However, I feel strongly for the black community, as (especially prevalent in the US) they are sterotyped far too often, and to dangerous effect.

I fear that this movement will only strengthen the hate for white people, even though I don't believe that the intentions of the movement is to do that, unfortunately "fight fire with fire" tends to be the result.

We need to think logically as to why Sony have made this decision, and I imagine there was a lot of deliberation before they did. Like a 2 minute silence for those lost during the wars, it's a mark of respect for something that is happening right now. I don't think this will hurt Sony if they need to wait a week or two, but it would have damaged their integrity if they hadn't stood alongside other companies.

Re: All PS Plus June 2020 PS4 Games Officially Announced

Crimson_Ridley

@RogerRoger

You know, I was all ready to slam the selection this month, but from what you're describing, it sounds like the game has turned a corner, so I might actually give it a go.

As for the genre of the two games, they should offer different selections, so that the liklihood of someone not owning one of the games already is lower, and to give more variety for subscribers. I already own WWII (granted, I've played it for about 20 minutes in the years I've owned it) and other than RogerRoger's post, I wasn't interested in BW2 before.

Re: The Last of Us 2 Has Everyone Talking About PS Vita

Crimson_Ridley

@matdub It's more the battery that perplexes me. They have a shelf life, and they certainly shouldn't last over 20 years, especially if it's not been played for an extended period of time. Even if it has had regular play, the battery should only last about 500 charges, so it would still be dead.

The question then is did she have to hunt for replacement parts from a service centre? She's kept it in mint condition, so she must love the device, which means she's probably not above braving the clickers to keep it running. Then Ellie killed her... Stupid Ellie!

Re: The Last of Us 2 Has Everyone Talking About PS Vita

Crimson_Ridley

@Baz12345
Once again, you have missed the point.

It. Was. A. Joke.

I'm not knocking the game in any way, shape, or form. I'm not complaining about anything at all. It was a joke about the PS Vita in the game. Literally everyone that has liked my comment understood, and I'm pretty sure everyone else did too, except you...
