Re: Marvel's Spider-Man 2 (PS5) - A Familiar But Fantastic Superhero Sequel

Diowine

@trev666 think it could make sense for a sequel to be better than the original and still not score as good as the first.
Just recently that happened to TOTK for example.
That is because years have passed and you expect more and better from a sequel. If the new one is exactly as good in story, graphics, gameplay, size etc.. as the original, you would be disappointed and would rank it lower than the original right?
So if it is just slightly better, by today's standards and expectations it can rank lower.
If not, all ports should be scored exactly the same as their original.
But that is just my subjective opinion.

Re: Resident Evil 4: Separate Ways (PS5) - Ada Wong Fronts More Sublime RE Action

Diowine

@wiiware I totally agree with your 2 hours long game comparison and both @naruball and @Dange 's comments too.
For example What Remains of Edith Finch . As good as the game is and in spite of all the 10/10 reviews it has earned, including Pushsquare's, if the game was ever at a full $60 there is no way that it could remain a 10/10 at an average 2 hours to complete, unless the reviewer had absolutely no sense of value for money. Reviewers should factor price into consideration.

Re: PlayStation's 2024 Release Schedule Is Already a Joke

Diowine

@BaldBelper78 not in that list, but Sony could wait 2/3 years without releasing any more PS exclusives and still would have more and better exclusives than Xbox Series', at least until Bethesda's exclusives start coming, which don't seem to be happening soon enough.

Re: PlayStation's 2024 Release Schedule Is Already a Joke

Diowine

@Bamila, yes it is selling a lot as expected. FIFA, Madden, NBA 2k and COD are always among the best selling games every year, but they are far from the game of the year discussion. Hogwarts is considered game of the year by whom? I get that it is selling well, but definitively not game of the year. There is no way it will beat Baldur's Gate 3, Tears of the Kingdom, Starfield, FFXVI or even RE4 this year, and we still don't know about Spidey 2 with all the hype behind.
Hey it was a great game, did better than I expected, just saying that it is not at the level of the GOTY winners in the last decade, other than maybe It Takes Two.

Re: PlayStation's 2024 Release Schedule Is Already a Joke

Diowine

A nice pack of games, but no huuge stars at sight. Maybe FF Rebirth? But nothing else with the hype levels of GOW, an RDR/GTA, Spiderman nor something from Naughty Dog or From Software (A DLC does not count) as in the past few years.
Star Wars could be very good or very bad game, but expecting at most a Hogwarts Legacy level of reception, not much more

Re: State of Play Livestream Revealed for Thursday, a Focus on Indie and Third-Party Games

Diowine

@Cashews Well, same day as Nintendo's Direct, both announced the same day and this one only being focused on indies and third party games? !
More than anger, I think there could be interesting Indie/ third party games that they want both to announce the same day hitting both consoles. Yes, even if it is a meme by now, I believe Silksong is coming in between the announcements on both presentations.

Re: 20 PS Plus Extra, Premium Games Coming Next Week

Diowine

@Deoxyr1bose exactly. Not a bad lineup at all, but not as good as expected being the month after the increase. Was even expecting some Resident Evil and/or Last of Us remakes being present.
I am honestly curious of why would someone still to this day continue paying for the Premium service when Extra is clearly the best option available in comparison. Too much money to spend? Something I am missing?
Anyways, happy finally dipping into 13 Sentinels

Re: Poll: Did You Buy Baldur's Gate 3?

Diowine

@Reptilio don't worry happened to me too. TOTK was a blast from start to finish.
P5R on the other hand is an amazing game too, but everything after the Casino felt eternal. Most relationships were already maxed out and Palaces just felt more of the same.
I know it is not clever to criticize such a popular game, which again I really liked in general, but the last couple of months felt like a chore. That's why I need shorter to the point games before the next big one.

Re: Poll: Did You Buy Baldur's Gate 3?

Diowine

I am now really interested to try it out. But from what I heard it consumes your life and is kind of long, which is not bad, but just recently having beaten TOTK and P5R , I am now getting into shorter games at least for some time, like Metroid Dread, Humanity, Uncharted Lost Legacy and Miles Morales. Maybe this will be my next 'long' game when I have the energy and time to invest again.

Re: Sea of Stars Now at 250K Sales, Beats First Year Targets

Diowine

Well, interesting to see how much has the Switch version sold in comparison.
For me, this kind of games are much better suited for a handheld such as the Switch. I even waited years for Persona 5 Royal to launch there to finally play it because long JRPGs feel more comfortable there. Exactly the opposite that happens for FPS, Sports or other RPGs such as Soulsbornes, which I feel must be played in my PS5 instead.
That is why even if I have it included on my PS Plus Extra Subs, I may prefer to get it in the Switch after a sale eventually

Re: Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon (PS5) - Great Mecha Action at Times Feels Stunted

Diowine

@DennisReynolds @Gooseman42 yes both of you are right. I am also looking at Metacritic and some of the reviewers that usually align with my personal taste, such as that of Gamespot, which also stands on the lower end with an 8 right now, with similar negative points as this one, like the forgettable story.
Hey maybe it is still a great game, just not the universal GOTY acclaim that somehow I was expecting. A sale in the future sounds good probably.

Re: The Last of Us 3 Rumours Are Doing the Rounds Again

Diowine

@PixelDragon I agree too.
Great first party exclusive games from both companies. But as you mention, for both companies, among others, most of these games' titles end up with a number in recent times:
Spidey 2, TLOU 2/3, GOW2, BOTW 2 (TOTK), Pikmin4, Xenoblade3, etc, etc... And we could go on forever.
All great sequels apparently, but would love to also see new IPs from all too.

Re: The Last of Us 3 Rumours Are Doing the Rounds Again

Diowine

@Shad361 No need to praise. From my side, related to my PS5 console, I probably will only be buying Armored Core this year, which is not even an exclusive, and playing PS Plus Extra Games that I missed when originally launched. Is it for me personally a weak year too? Yes.
But that is not the point, this is a Playstation site and if you only come here to constantly criticize the company in front of people that care for it and enjoy their games, it becomes really tiring.
If you want to be a specific console hater, go to a multiplatform page such as IGN and bash them there. If you are not a hater and just like Nintendo better, go to NintendoLife. But let people be happy with their games here.
With love

Re: The Last of Us 3 Rumours Are Doing the Rounds Again

Diowine

Ok forget my last comment, I didn't see the full picture here... I was just bored and got into his last 30ish comments and as @naruball mentioned, he seems to only come here to bash Sony and praise Nintendo in every post he can.
Yes, it is tiring.
And that comes from someone who owns both Switch and PS5 and has a slight preference for the former's first party games.

Re: The Last of Us 3 Rumours Are Doing the Rounds Again

Diowine

I agree with @PixelDragon and even if I love first party Nintendo games, I cannot agree with @Shad361 because Sony's exclusive games are amazing, even if we only get one per year sometimes.
With that said, he did not disrespect anyone and just explained himself answering to other replies, not completely off topic. No need to remove his comments just like that

Re: Poll: What Did You Think of The Last of Us - Episode 8?

Diowine

Week after week I've been coming here commenting how great the show is. But this chapter felt much better in the game. David trying so hard to convince Ellie to join them made no sense in the series, they should have found other reason to get her captive. Felt the same about Joel's miraculous recovery from being almost dead to a vicious killer in a minute. Personally, this was the weakest episode of a great show.

Re: New Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi Game Announced

Diowine

Best dragon ball games ever. So many memories playing the third one. I bought a couple db games since and regretted immediately, but if this is close to Budokai Tenkaichi 3 then I am all in.
Yes, characters were closer to their true level, but with such a gigantic roster it was cool creating 5 on 5 battles of the same power levels against a friend.

Re: Poll: What Did You Think of The Last of Us - Episode 7?

Diowine

A picture of Ellie and Riley and the title of the Episode, that's the big spoiler so many are complaining about?? If you played the game you knew that Left Behind was coming now, and if you didn't then the picture is even less of a spoiler. Also, they showed it last week in the trailer.
Big spoiler for you now: Next week we have the Lakeside Resort part and Troy Baker is going to appear. Now you can save yourself from complaining about it again next week

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Octopath Traveler 2?

Diowine

Not sure yet, if the Audience Score is good too and the story is better than the first one, then probably later on sale. But in any case that would be on my Switch because as @EquiinoxGII mentioned, this kind of JRPGs are better as portables when available.

Re: TV Show Review: The Last of Us (HBO) Episode 4 - A Heart-Warming Breather

Diowine

@tallythwack Well, if the reason you didn't like the episode was because it was too slow for you, or you were really expecting the school scene or a bit of action in the end, I can understand. I liked the episode, but in that sense it is a matter of subjective taste and I understand you.
But if the underlying reason someone didn't like the episode was because of the gay scenes, saying it was too woke and not related to the game, which in fact was just developing Bill's arc and giving him a happier ending, then yes, those are just haters.

Re: Poll: How Good Was The Last of Us - Episode 4?

Diowine

@PegasusActual93 can't agree more with your comment. So many people complaining about the lack of action, infected and how vulnerable the 3rd episode made them feel about their manhood. But we will have our dose of action on Friday so everyone will be happy.
The only thing I am worried about is that they will have to rush or cut entire game chapters in the last 4 episodes. Suburbs, University and Bus Depot? All out I think. We will have Left Behind and Firefly lab for sure according to trailers, and I imagine some different shorter version of Tommy's Dam and then Lakeside Resort, which was my favorite chapter.

Re: TV Show Review: The Last of Us (HBO) Episode 4 - A Heart-Warming Breather

Diowine

Great episode, as always, they are doing amazing. The next one is going to be really action packed for the haters that only wanted infected and bullets, and felt vulnerable with last weeks' episode.
@kyleforrester87 not yet, sadly there are only 9 total episodes, so my best guess is...
-Stop reading if you didn't play the game-
5th episode is Kansas City, 6th is Tommy's Dam, 7th and 8th I would guess Lakeside Resort + Left Behind in between. 9th episode is the firefly lab

Re: TV Show Review: The Last Of Us (HBO) Episode 3 - Television At Its Finest

Diowine

  • @kryptozoologist well in today's day and age, great series don't get to 7 seasons sorry. Not the current and all time most successful series, specially HBO's. Only comedies and doctor's soap operas reach that with the exception of GOT nowadays. Specially considering the limited source material.
  • Mazin already said that he is planning on the second game, maybe making 2 seasons out of it next.
  • Ellie is 19 in the second game, same age that Bella is today. No need to recast, easy to make her look a little older and accept it.
  • Yes Pedro Pascal is too popular, but his fate is critical for the second Part, and HBO is already familiar with doing this to a beloved main character in their series adaptations, if not ask Ned Stark.
I prefer series to stay focused to their source material and don't overstay their welcome, because they can start drifting.

Re: HBO Renews The Last of Us TV Series for a Second Season

Diowine

Craig Mazing said that Part II is much bigger and could take 2 seasons instead. The game is also much longer than Part I. But... I feel like it is a much shorter story, even suitable for movie. Part I takes place during a whole year + Left Behind, while Part II without the epilogue and prologue takes only 3 days. Most of what happens in between is just action. I love both games equally, but I am surprised that it could take 2 seasons. Well... The more the better right?

Re: TV Show Review: The Last of Us (HBO) Episode 2 - Establishing a New Lore

Diowine

@PegasusActual93 well good for you beating it faster than average, I can't remember how long it took to me but according to howlongtobeat the game takes on average 15hours, not counting Left Behind, which is mostly cinematic. They have done an amazing job so far so I trust them, but have only covered 3 out of 17 chapters that the game has (I know that left behind's are much shorter). So that is why I am worried that they will rush certain sections which are more memorable than Bill's for example
