The last of us part 2 was sold by the first game. People waited for it because of the first game. Had this been a stand alone game I would not have bothered with it at all. You will judge the success of lou2 when an eventual third part comes out.

I'm still playing last of us part 2, starting to get close to the end. Every single reviewer, this one included, who gave this game a 10/10 has some explaining to do on their bias.

I have never seen a more confusing story. So far its just endless wandering, characters dying before you even learn their name by heart and some of the poorest dialogue I have ever seen. The gameplay is sublime, as are certain bits of it. But the story on the whole? Revolting.

How can this be better than RDR?

I'm finally playing the game. Thank god I borrowed it.

to be honest, i dont care about the price. im not rich, but because at the end it will go down or i will sacrifice and buy it.
i dont care about the size, because it will still sit in the same place i intended for it and it changes nothing.

Im mildly interested about the features it will have and the VR evolution, because it will affect my experience.

What i am really interested is, what will it bring to the table in terms of quality? and what games will come out? With all this talk of prices going up, i have no intention to buy spend 500 euros on a console that will boast a rehash of a title released 2 generations ago.

I am not clutching at anything. I am simply pointing out that media reports what its convenient for it to report. Unfortunately. As you said in your reply to Dodoo, proof of purchase would be a great idea. That should happen in PSN. Just because the PSN rating system has no real use to you, it does not mean it does not have value to others.

When you say review bombing scandal, do you mean the 2500+ 5* ratings last of us 2 receive on the playstation store back in May? Or does journalism only report what it's comfortable of reporting?

Yes, but only after i have seen a review of the game that really says whether I should buy it or not.

And when I say review game, i mean a fair and impartial one, not one aimed at pleasing the developer of the game in an attempt to look good.

I just started this game but i was a bit underwhelmed. All i did was swipe on my phone for 10 minutes.

I don't plan to buy the ps5 any time soon. im going to wait for that killer game to win me over, otherwise i'll wait for mid cycle. But I will buy the version with a disc.

What is the point you are trying to make? Are you aware that back in early May, way before it was released to anyone (even reviewers), it already had 2500 5 star ratings?

I am against review bombing of all forms and i do believe the petition achieves nothing.

i saw a clip on twitter on this. the game design is amazing. From a story telling aspect, it might be non-replayable (i still have to see for myself).

But there's no denying that if it is re-mastered for ps5, it will definitely have to be revisited.

Its funny how there is no mention about Sony being on the receiving end of legal notices after it was abusing the rule against small youtubers. Why was this never picked up by anyone?

I think the pics are too low qual to judge and maybe its not the final design either.

I would like to point out to you that you should not listen to the excuse that the game hasn't been available for long enough. The game was released on the 19th. I personally have 2 friends who got it on the 17th through a common shop. Please don't fall for this.

Yes I believe the review on this site, as many others, is biased. You simply cannot say that it is a 10/10. It's impossible.
Is 0/10 impossible? Of course! The game isn't just about the story. (Read above). The game is a masterpiece I really want to witness (in terms of graphics)

Indeed, and I will play it. which is why i do not have a rating for the game just yet. I simply will not give Naughty dog my money because of reasons I will happily explain when you finish I don't want to spoil your experience.

Isn't it a bit irresponsible to encourage users not to seek a different opinion?
Many reviews there are probably biased. But then again, so is Push Square's Review. I ask again, How can a game get 10/10 when the backlash received is clear, when folks like IGN Japan clearly illustrated faults with the story?

As Journalists you have the responsibility in being impartial in your writing.

As a massive fan of last of us 2, im still waiting on whether to buy it or not, but:

If the only ''''issue'''' about this game would have been a lesbian or a transexual, I would have cared the equivalent of 0. But it isn't.

How can a game that has received so much backlash, with some reviewers even going as far as saying that the story itself was 'bleak' receive a 10/10?

Before anyone tells me to go and play the game. How can a review be impartial when it was indirectly pre-announced that this game would have been a 10?

Where is the non-bias?

I would like to see a review that covers every aspect of the game, including development and run up to the delivery of the game.
It would be nice to see proper journalism that asks these questions

I have no doubt that if you judge the game solely on the map design and mechanics, its a solid 9. But what about the story and what gave us that story. I hope to see a truly unbiased review.

I only wonder if this was a good idea because an actual announcement would have generated some sort of hype that would have contributed to calming the people down a little.
Nevertheless i understand that this is not a question of tension, but to focusing on what is really the priority at this time.

State of play footage is nothing but absolutely impressive. Still, I will wait for reviews of the game.

Considering how ND and Sony attempted to illegally bully small youtubers into submission for even TALKING about the leaks (which i believe was not picked by the bigger media houses). I am very much disinclined to make a day 0 new purchase. I'd rather get second hand.

I decided to wait before purchasing the game, for obvious reasons. I just hope reviews provide a clear and impartial reviews of the game.
