@Medic_Alert I'm waiting until I have a PS5 (another year at least) until I get AC:V. Presumably the super complete edition will be out by then. Or maybe I'll wait for this rumoured 'AC: Infinity' thing.

@Royalblues I think it'll be early 2023, at the absolute earliest before supply is back to normal. I used to think late 2022, but the xmas rush will prevent that. On the plus side, I've almost cleared my PS4 backlog (Only TLOU2 left, with LIS:TC and GOT on my wishlist) and I own plenty of PS4 games that deserve a replay.

Looking good! I hope we have more missions where we support AI-controlled allies, though. That one mission in SE4 where you're supporting the Italian resistance was really fun

@Uncharted2007 Why EA hasn't commissioned a TellTale-style Mass Effect game to tide us over until the next AAA installment, I'll never know.

@Stragen8 Yeah, the gameplay is very fun. Appreciate the accessibility options, too. (Games with mandatory rapid-button tapping are almost unplayable for me, now). Upgrading the weapons is fun, too. However, I HATE how you have to find those books to unlock skill trees, though. Shoots my 'I'm missing something' anxiety through the roof. First World Problems and all, but I'd have much rather all skill trees be unlocked from the start.

@Would_you_kindly If you're talking about TLOU1, that's a remake they're apparently making, not a remaster.

@Stragen8 Agreed to an extent (still playing TLOU2, about 5 hours in). I don't know what the haters were expecting after how TLOU1 ending. Do they realise that TLOU1 didn't have anything close to a happy ending?
That all being said, I'm enjoying TLOU2, but am finding the plot a bit predictable. ('Revenge is pointless and will only hurt the people you care about and corrupt you', got it) I've got a pretty good idea of who will (and won't) die, but hopefully I'm proven wrong.

@Pat_trick Sure, but all games (on average) would pale in comparison to a similar movie, so that's not a fair reason to dig at a video game. For a video game, I'd say TLOU2 does have good writing ('masterpiece' admittedly is going a bit far).

@Bentleyma- Especially bizarre when you consider that TLL was essentially a brand new Uncharted game.

Most importantly, will this system recognise our old PS1-3 games? Digital at least, but preferably physical as well. I understand neither the PS4, nor PS5 can directly play these games, but perhaps they could recognise discs as a sort of physical emulation pass?

@Sam_ATLUS It'll probably take a while to find it's feet, but Sony need to get behind that kind of thing sooner or later. I wonder if it'll be PS5 only or also on PS4? I'm guessing just PS5?

@Richnj Everyone was unhappy Nintendo went that route...in an overly limited, expensive, confusing Nintendo way. Hopefully Sony won't be so stupid.

@Eldritch I'm even more extreme than you. With these events, I skip the event itself and just watch the trailers/announcements from news websites an hour after they end.

@lolwhatno Same here, expect for me I found the story really dull. I need a decent story to carry standard OW gameplay. This may fit the bill, as they seem to be massively improving that area.

@Jayofmaya To me at least, one tweet but one of the Devs seemed to hint that it'll be a sequel to Andromeda and ME3, simultaneously. Maybe you'll have to move between both galaxies?

@Thulsa Who knows how good/bad it'll be. But I really hoped we'd moved on from 'xyz isn't a video game' in current year. If it's an interactive game, on a screen, it's a video game.

@nessisonett It is pretty funny watching the 'everyone is a triggered snowflake' crowd absolutely losing it over a little indie game in the YT comments. TBH, it was one of the more interesting games there, if only because everything else looked dull to me

@Jango-Forest TBH, the Gold edition is exactly that, and it's released before even the DLC.

I'd love a Punisher video game AS LONG AS they make the gameplay interesting (maybe a stealth shooter?). I wouldn't want it to be just like any other FPS

@Juanalf To be fair, the amount of SW video games we've got in the last 5 years has been extremely sparse. I might agree with you in 3 years time when all the D+ stuff kicks off

Hmm, so no director's cut, then? Does TLOU2 run well on the original PS4, without melting it? If so, I may as well get it.

@UltimateOtaku91 Deathloop seems to play totally differently to the Dishonoured games. For better or worse, it looks much more action-oriented and has some kind of time loop (roguelike?) thing going on.

I've still got at least 10 games on my PS4 backlog and ... a very large number on my Steam backlog, so I'm fine until late 2022.

If we get an MGS1 remake, we need remasters of MGS's 2, 3 and 4 as well.

@AhmadSumadi If Sony want the PS5 release to be 100% necessary, they should stop doing the cross gen thing.

@Martijn87 Yeah, but cross gen games weren't as much of a thing then, so the chance to double-dip wasn't really there.

@zebric21 Probably not. Remember the chip shortage will affect the PS4, as well. Sony won't be devoting scarce resources to producing a last-gen console.

@JB_Whiting I really get your frustration as a fellow DS fan, but it's because DS3 ran things into the ground (IMO) that they'll need to reboot. A remake/reimagining of 1 (I'm assuming that's what it is, anyway) followed by a new DS2 and DS3 that make more sense and go in a more horror-themed direction could be really good.

@Icey664 You wouldn't want to waste your money. I'd wait a year, then just pretend each DLC are new shorter AC games.

Christ. The Covid 19/new generation 2 year release-lull is really driving gamers mad, isn't it? If gamers don't have enough games to play, go for a walk or read a book or something, don't do ridiculous crap like this. I hate this console war crap. We should want all the VG companies to be at their best, not their worst. In 10-15 years time, we'll all just be jumping between the PS/Xbox/Nintiendo game streaming services, anyway. .

@HunkyJunk I guess we'll see. This'll definitely be in the 'interested but wait for reviews before getting too excited' category for me. Then again, most games not called 'Resident Evil', 'Red Dead' or 'Deus Ex' are in that category

Yeah, Sony's definitely in arrogant SONY/PS3 or MS/Xbox One mode. They switch like bloody clockwork, don't they?
I'll get the PS4 version of GOT: Gold Edition (on sale) as I never played it at launch, but once I've cleared my PS4 backlog, I'm going to be very much on the fence about whether I get an XSX + GamePass or a PS5. I'll have to see where both companies are in a year or so's time. £70 a game vs £10-ish a month for unlimited games is bloody ridiculous. If MS get Game Pass streaming working on my crummy laptop, I won't need any consoles at all! Sony need to think things through.

'New mechanics inspired by later entries'? Oooh, not sure about that. DS3's mechanics were part of what made it such a poor horror game.

@mucc A SH walking simulator could be really good. When people think of SH, do they really think of the combat?

@2cents TBH, I'm surprised the season pass doesn't include a remaster of FC2. That seemed to be the trend.

@Blacksmith1985 I agree. (Luckily, 9th gen version is free for 8th gen owners). I'm not touching CP 2077 until the fully patched PS5 version with all free and paid DLC is available.

@Xenomorph_79 Even when they were going to do it, you still had the option to redownload games you'd already bought. If the servers were fully deactivated, physical gamers wouldn't be much better off, as you wouldn't be able to download any patches or DLC
