Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty?

K1LLEGAL

This is hilarious seeing people trying to compare the 2 services when it depends on your taste in games… and what you have or haven’t played yet already. Xbox offering Day 1 release is great and if Playstation started doing it i’m sure it would be enjoyed by people here. Also no need to bring Xbox’s profits or whatever into it when gamers can enjoy it at the moment so who cares? That’s up to Xbox and doesn’t make the service any worse. Literally just a dumb argument.

As for Wo Long; I have it downloaded on my Series X at the moment but haven’t had a chance to check it out yet. I’m not so great at Soulslike games so not sure how far I would even get in this. I love Romance of the Three Kingdoms though so hell yea can’t wait to try it at least.

Re: Sony Wants to Make PlayStation the Best Place to Play Third-Party Games

K1LLEGAL

@LiamCroft it’s annoying me that people are questioning you liking the stat tracking to be accurate because I 100% do too. Just like I used to hate Xbox 360 achievements that I accidently unlocked “offline” and so missed their date stamp. If the time is inaccurate it’s really annoying. I also have my Switch games ordered by time played on the menu. 3DS is still the best console by a mile when it comes to recording playtime. Xbox is good but could be better. But my PS5 tracker has been broken from day 1 unfortunately.

Re: Microsoft Admits Xbox Game Pass Is Harming Software Sales After All

K1LLEGAL

@RobN thats one way of looking at it; but the other side is… a lot of these games I wouldn’t have ever paid for in the first place; but now have played through Gamepass and they are getting paid by Xbox.

It’s obviously hard to know but as an indie developer you would have the decision of upfront cash from Xbox or gambling it on sales of the game. Which could go viral and make millions or could fall flat on it’s face. So yes there will be some devs/publishers that come out better than others, and they may not even know it. It’s a case of not knowing how it would have sold for sure.

I do wonder about Vampire Survivors since they had the viral money from Steam so not sure why they went for Gamepass; but there is a lot of background we don’t know.

Re: Microsoft Admits Xbox Game Pass Is Harming Software Sales After All

K1LLEGAL

@thedevilsjester yes but they get paid to go on Gamepass which negates the lower sales. Thats the negotiation the publishers will come to with Xbox. So the profit is ideally the same or more or less who knows but the idea is for maximum profit because of course it is. You are acting like they put it on Gamepass for free.

They even get the payment upfront (I think?) which means they can get to work quicker on their next game.

Re: Microsoft Admits Xbox Game Pass Is Harming Software Sales After All

K1LLEGAL

If the devs get paid for making the games, the publishers get paid for the game going on gamepass, and Xbox get paid through the gamepass subs… then what do the sales matter?

So much hate for Gamepass here but it has saved me a lot of money and allowed me to try loads of random games. Obviously it’s all been said before; but these comment threads just get really dumb with random hate thrown out for no reason (though PS Essential is celebrated).

I would argue it has convinced more devs to come to Xbox too since they know they might be in with a chance of making it on Gamepass; especially indies.

Re: UK Determines Xbox's $69 Billion Activision Buyout Could Harm Gamers

K1LLEGAL

This whole thing really annoys me because it’s, firstly, hypocritical (watch Sony breeze through their SE acquisition). But secondly, I feel like the people making these decisions have no idea about the gaming industry. Literally no idea. In fact outside of UK game developers, I feel like barely anyone in the UK has knowledge of the video game industry. It seems like such an afterthought here. Hence why you see the chav games dominating the charts all the time. Not saying theres anything wrong with the Cod/Fifa/Gta holy trinity necessarily but it’s literally all the time. Because that’s all the casuals know about.

Re: Microsoft Summons Sony to FTC's Activision Blizzard Court Hearing

K1LLEGAL

This comments section is pretty much a copy & paste of all the other ones regarding this. I hope both companies are preparing for game dev post this whole acquisition; whether it goes through or not.

This should really have flagged Sony’s exclusive practices and I really hope it does. Funny how even Forspoken gets released slap bang in the middle of all this with 2 year console exclusivity. Surely that should be a core talking point?

I don’t want Xbox buying up the market and thinking thats how they can get ahead; but I think the thing I hate most is Sony’s hypocrisy regarding game parity and keeping games away from gamers. I mean that might be the thing I dislike most about this industry. Hate giving PS my money for FFXVI but pretty much have to.

Re: Poll: Did You Buy the Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden Remasters?

K1LLEGAL

@Casco very well said.

@ShogunRok would it be dreadful if people on PureXbox said they were playing a game on PS Plus instead of forking out however much for the full price release? 🤔

Even if you love your PS that much, can always play it on Gamepass now and then buy it on PS when it’s on sale down the line. I saw somone one PureXbox say they bought it on PS instead of playing on Gamepass because they want to “own” it. But nothing is stopping them from playing on Gamepass now and then buying it to own later when it’s on sale, saving money all around. Except they clearly just wanted to play on PS that much; i’m guessing for the trophies. I made that mistake with Dark Pictures 1&2 where they were on PS plus but I still bought them on Xbox (on deep sale tbf) and enjoyed them, but like… what was the point? May as well have saved money and played on the sub service.

Re: 22 New PS5, PS4 Games Coming to PS Plus Extra, Premium Next Week

K1LLEGAL

Hoped for Kena. Otherwise this is all stuff I played on Xbox unfortunately for me. Obviously great games though so enjoy. Like A Dragon is one of my favourite games of the last few years. 6 is incredible too. Got all the achievements on both of those. Judgment was a bit more of a slog tbh but still solid and I may have been burnt out.

It would be nice if they announced these earlier in the month though. Kind of annoying when games come and go on sale.

Re: Check Your Gaming Stats with PlayStation Wrap-Up 2022, Available Now

157 hours with the order being:

1. Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut (Plat)
2. God of war (2018) (Plat)
3. Horizon Zero Dawn
4. Marvel’s Spider-man Miles Morales (Plat)
5. Uncharted 3 Remastered

I’m mainly on Xbox but interesting that my 157 hours was up 152 on last year! Ragnarok will likely be number 3 on that list realistically by the end of the year. I have 10 platinum trophies since 2008(!) and 4 of them were this year with the 3 above plus Astro’s Playroom.

Re: All The Game Awards 2022 Winners

K1LLEGAL

2 hours into Ragnarok and really enjoying it. So obviously can see the praise. But Horizon only gets praise because its first party. The Horizon games are polished but otherwise they are the most 7 out of 10 games that ever 7 out of 10’d. They are also basically glorified Ubisoft games.

Re: The Last of Us: Part I on PC Costs $20 Less Than PS5 Version

K1LLEGAL

So I got this at £40 over black friday. I have played about an hour (I know thats not enough time) and I just… presentation as always is incredible but the gameplay is just so ***** right now. I did the same thing with the PS4 version. I hope it gets better. On the other hand I just played through God of War 2018 for the first time and that is actually a great game.

Re: Microsoft Invites Sony to Sign Its Own 10-Year Call of Duty Deal

K1LLEGAL

@Korgon it’s checkmate in the sense that Sony has cried about COD needing to remain multiplatform. And a deal between Xbox, Nintendo and Steam ensures that Microsoft has accomplished just that. The regulators would be satisfied to an extent, and it potentially allows the deal to go through while Sony gets left in the dust. If the regulators allow it without Sony signing up, Microsoft have no obligation to offer the deal or ANY deal to Sony once that happens. So Sony is backed into a corner and needs to make a decision.

Re: All PS Plus Memberships Are on Sale Now, Save 25%

K1LLEGAL

Really want to downgrade to Extra but can’t find a way. So yet more punishment for signing up to premium. Why is everything so complicated with Sony. I feel like there has to be a way for me to buy a year of Extra…

Edit: Just realised this offer expires on 28th; and my sub expires on 27th. So there might be a chance!

Re: As Long As There's PlayStation, Call of Duty Will Release on It

K1LLEGAL

@dschons yea I think most agree, we just want this to be over with now. It’s bound to go through so just go through already. Hopefully this is the thing that tips it over the line.

Also to add as a benefit to this deal; COD ends up on at least one subscription service (Gamepass) where now it isn’t due to Sony paying to stop just that.

Re: Square Enix Sends Babylon's Fall to the Grave in February 2023

K1LLEGAL

I don’t know much about the game other than it having very few players and being £10 physical for some time now… but can’t they tweak it so it just runs offline in single-player? Even if it loses a lot of the balance along the way? Never seen a single video of it though so not sure how the game actually works. Shame for those who paid a lot for it.

@Rob_230 I hope people weren’t excited just because it was exclusive. Hope they had other reasons!

Re: PlayStation Bites Back At 'Inadequate' Call of Duty Offer from Microsoft

K1LLEGAL

@Sakisa haven’t read through all the comments but from what i’ve read of yours I agree. I would love more JRPGs on Xbox.

Sony cries more than my 10 month old. They should be embarrassed at this point. The amount of exclusive content they get, be it permanent, timed or in-game like Spiderman in Avengers… they really should just let this one go.

Or you know cry until the deal doesn’t go through and then wonder why Xbox has 70 billion big ones to throw at other willing publishers… like Square Enix. Good job Sony clap clap.

Re: Microsoft, Sony Signed Agreement to Keep Call of Duty on PlayStation for 'Several More Years' Beyond Current Contract

K1LLEGAL

I wonder what Microsoft got in return for this…? Since it wasn’t that Sony wouldn’t fight the acquisition. Maybe the whole Bungie remaining independent thing was part of it? But probably not; Xbox always seems to get the short end of the deals they make!

Crazy how Sony seems to get it’s cake and eat it too. I don’t understand what Xbox gets out of all of this. If they want to keep it multi-platform because it makes financial sense then sure go ahead but why the need to sign an agreement when Sony is going to cry about it anyway?

Re: UK Government Investigating Xbox's Activision Buyout Further

K1LLEGAL

@Beerheadgamer82 didn’t slip my mind as everyone loves going back to the Rise of the Tomb Raider example. It’s brought up on like a weekly basis here. And yea so what? I’m not on about general exclusivity deals; we could do that all day regarding Square Enix or even Deathloop/Ghostwire etc. I’m just saying, regarding COD. Sony basically sounds like a big baby (the best way I know how to put it). HOWEVER; maybe they are acting up on purpose to try and dramatically stop the acquisition as a last ditch attempt. Doesn’t stop it being the case though.

Jeez guys, if all these games ended up on Gamepass don’t you think it would make Playstation have to step up and make their service better? E.g. healthy competition?

Re: UK Government Investigating Xbox's Activision Buyout Further

K1LLEGAL

COD will arguably be better value on Xbox. Avengers was arguably better value on Playstation. Or another example, COD on Playstation has had it’s exclusive modes. But now everyone in the comments wants parity and equal value across the consoles lol.

You can watch Thor or Dr Strange on Disney plus as part of your sub; or you can pay £13.99 on another service and watch it there. Choice is good.

@AdamNovice comment #8 yea it’s a bad value proposition but there are games on PS Plus that aren’t on Gamepass at the moment; so you can buy them on Xbox or save money and get them as part of your subscription on Playstation. And vice versa. So…. What is the issue?

Re: July 2022 NPD: Free-to-Play MultiVersus Tops Charts, PS5 Out in Front

K1LLEGAL

@zebric21 it’s fine it just feels so slow after Astro’s Playroom. Also it starts out extremely simple. I was playing by myself though - any game can be fun in co-op so don’t let me stop you. Just the shift of going from one innovative fast-paced platformer straight into another more slower one with a static camera etc probably dampened the experience a bit. I will give it more time for sure.
