Re: New Marvel Game Reveal Incoming, Rumoured to Be a 6v6 Hero-Based Shooter

LordFunkalot

Yay, I’m looking forward to this. They’ve done such great stuff with the MCU recently. Im hoping for a AAAA $80 6v6 constantly online action shooter, with broken servers, limited modes at launch. They can drip feed the modes and patches. There should be an in game store where you pay to win and can buy new cosmetics between $15-$40. I have no doubt this will be a great success. . .

@DennisReynolds I’m in my 40s and hate MTX and live service style games with a passion or so I thought. I’m also not one to make in game purchases and never really have done unless it’s for extra content (levels/story content etc)

But like you say they are low cost and don’t seem aggressive. I also feel like the games being supported really well, at least so far.

Hopefully it continues and they don’t change tact

@StrickenBiged definitely agree. I’ve platinumed it and still want to keep playing. I love the war backdrop and the in game store isn’t as intrusive in other games of this nature.

I think they just got the balance right. Fun game, good price, simple game play loop, action si-fi violence and the right amount of straight faced humour.

I like that medals are used to unlock the main battle pass not the super credits and you can earn the super credits in game and also at each tier through the pass. Also helps that if you did want to pay to unlock a premium battle pass the credits don’t cost a fortune.

It’s cool that the samples also unlock items and you can find them in the maps. I can’t remember the last time I had so much fun with an online game.

Re: Sony Allegedly Pausing PSVR2 Production Due to Surplus of Unsold Stock

LordFunkalot

My best friend got psvr day one as he’s a big VR enthusiast. It is awesome to play, rez hd, Tetris, horizon and GT. But that’s about it.

At the time it came out I said that if Sony were to put something like an exclusive kill zone, motorstorm or something like an exclusive RE 1 remake (the mansion with VR it would be awesome) it would make me jump in.

But there’s no real games for it never mind any epic exclusives experiences. Sadly they just don’t seem to care about it. That coupled with the high high price and it’s just a big no.

Re: Warner Bros' Reaction to Suicide Squad Flop Will Make You Question Your Sanity

@nomither6 a remaster, literally modern graphics on the same game of the original MK, with the original 7 fighters and original stages. Just new graphics in the modern engine, no online or store etc. But polished and totally faithful to the original. Sell it for $30/£30 and it would sell like hotcakes. Forget the live service and go back to the roots.

Personally I think they’d save a fortune with no online and people would happily pay that. It would sell well at the price point, hook in the nostalgia and with no store or E shop silliness people would be receptive to it.

It would have been much better than the new MK1 and where the series is heading.

The corporate playbook is closing another company and there’s more layoffs coming for them and Ubisoft. Gutted for the talented employees. Massive cracks in the games industry this year.

Just have to remain positive and look towards AA and indie games now. Helldiver 2 and palworld have shown gaming is not dying and bangers can still be put out on a smaller budget. Dave the Diver and No rest for the wicked look cool. The AAA game may be quickly becoming extinct and closing their studios but AA and indies will rise up from the ashes.

The industry will dramatically change this year. It’s literally happening right now in front of us.

Re: Big PS5, PS4 Games Are Cheap as Hell with PS Plus This Weekend

LordFunkalot

@get2sammyb I’ve played all the Arkham games and I really wouldn’t recommend it. It’s just slow and I found it boring, stopped playing it about 1/3 the way through. There’s much better games to play. It’s a 5/10. Even if you have a in interest in Batman i would still echo these comments. It’s on gamepass and I was looking forward to it too.

Re: Poll: Will You Pay the PSVR2 Launch Price?

LordFunkalot

I’m not a fan of VR already and although I think this is cool, the price is too high for me to take the plunge to see if it’s my thing.

I agree with most of the comments about there being no awesome killer software and it seeming a bit gimmicky. If there was an exclusive killzone game or something that might have perked my interest.

The price is expensive but there is a lot of tech in there. It’s too expensive in my opinion as owning a PS5 you could choose to get this or spend the same money and get a Nintendo switch and Xbox series S and your menu of potential games expands massively. With the psvr2 being new the game’s selection pales in comparison. If you’re really into VR tho I can imagine it would be worth the money.

Not for me, don’t think I’ll ever change my mind unless there is a major price drop or several killer must play games then I’ll maybe give it a go. Wish it all the best tho and curious to see how it does long term - could be the VR game changer or just another pricey bit of hardware, only time will tell.

Re: So, Apparently Sony Demanded Changes to Salt and Sacrifice's Price on Other Platforms

LordFunkalot

Sadly Not a good look for Sony, lots of little things chipping away at Sony this generation. To name a few; rise in price of their games, no game pass style system, pro backward compatibility (although they look like they may be coming), having to pay for PS5 game upgrades, the terrible way they handled GT7s launch - trophies locked behind micro transactions or serious grind and online only - sad times. Not the Sony of the past like the PSOne which was new, exciting, dynamic and edgy Sony. They used to be out there to turn heads and pull gamers into the power of PlayStation. Sony of today is totally different to how it used to be

Re: Gran Turismo 7 PS5, PS4 Review Bombed After Challenging Week

LordFunkalot

It’s almost like games should get 2 reviews now; one for launch day and one, following launch after patches - the way GT7 has been handled is dishonest and disrespectful to fans. Not like they were up front with this, literally imagine this was on the back of the box or in the state of play - but they just slip it in on the sly. I was so close to picking it up as it looks awesome but I’m thankful I didn’t and I’m voting with my wallet to try and end this shameful practice.

Re: Soapbox: It's Okay to Enjoy Elden Ring and Horizon Forbidden West

LordFunkalot

I get only wanting to play one at a time as I only wanted to get one at a time as GT7 is incoming so I waited for Elden ring and am very much enjoying it pushing me. When I’m finished with it I’ll definitely be picking up Forbidden West. Just so many good games dropping at once, it feels like a good years November, not February lol
