Re: Poll: One Year Later, How Would You Rate Marvel's Spider-Man 2 on PS5?

LordFunkalot

I didn’t like the bits with MJ or the deaf girl where you were forced to play as them. Would have been better if those characters were developed better, their missions were optional/side objectives and gameplay in a better context. Also although the wing suit was cool took away from the Spider-Man ness of it all. It was still enjoyable but could have been so much more, I’d give it a 7/8 out of 10

@Blaze215 I’m of the exact same opinion, I totally recommend space marine 2, I’ve not played a game like this in years. No message or politics. Has a single player, co-op PvE mode and a decent PvP multiplayer. A deep unlock system and the artwork/graphics are awesome. Gory and violent. It’s like playing a game from 2005-2010 but in the best possible way. I feel like I’m playing Gears Of War for the first time again, totally worth a look. I’ve never been interested in Warhammer before either

Re: Days Gone PS5 Remaster Rumours Start to Snowball

LordFunkalot

@nomither6 I’m not going to get into a never ending argument lol (my preference being PSOne lol) but suffice to say PlayStation was pumping out some pure classics in the past. Absolute goldmine that they are sitting on now, they just need to get back there

Re: Days Gone PS5 Remaster Rumours Start to Snowball

LordFunkalot

Ridiculous, they’re sitting on a gold mine of unused IPs and they remaster games I can already play that run great!! Put down whatever you’re smoking Sony.

We don’t want remakes of the last of us, zero dawn, days gone, Spider-Man 2, Returnal, God Of War Ragnarok and GT7 lol

What about Twisted metal, Jumping Flash, Warhawk, Jet Moto, Wipeout, Killzone, Resistance, SOCOM, Sly Cooper, Syphon Filter, The Puppeteer, Coolboarders, Motorstorm, Bloodborn. Where are these, these would sell like crazy and be fresh and fun as you’ve left them to rot for so long. Pull your finger out, wake up out of your corporate day dream and get back to greatness.

Your youthful edgyness is gone and you’re a boring middle aged corporate shill. Turn it around, PlayStation used to have so much energy.

If 90s PlayStation could see todays PlayStation they’d be making commercials ripping on it calling it boring and lame

Re: Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster (PS5) - Capcom Classic Still Shines 18 Years Later

LordFunkalot

@Troubbble I agree it’s best to leave things in their original state. With these remakes/remasters I think they should either stay true to the original or if they feel so strongly then have the option to play the ‘new version’ but always retain the original. Personally I don’t like the way they take things out, it’s like they are sort of erasing history.

The ruined the star wars movies with this and now it’s difficult to normally access and watch the originals.

Back to gaming recent examples also include in the new Marvel vs Capcom fighting collection they removed the Twin Towers in the punisher game. They were in a background of a 16bit cutscene and now they’ve been erased from the game completely it’s like they don’t want to make reference or don’t want you to remember they previously existed. Street fighter 2 has been censored too over the years.

I get people are more sensitive these days but all these examples are how things were at the time and rightly or wrongly what you think of them, I don’t think they should be erased and forgotten, preservation is key.

Re: Filming on Ubisoft's Watch Dogs Movie Has Wrapped

LordFunkalot

Another specular game to movie endeavour. The Mario movie was great, uncharted, MK and sonic ok but more often than not they are duds. I can’t imagine this will be good, but could be wrong I’ll have to wait and see. Can’t be as bad as the Minecraft one coming, it looks horrendous lol

Re: Mini Review: TimeSplitters (PS2) - A Fantastic Foundation with Flaws

LordFunkalot

@BecauseBecause The level layouts are terrible lol, you’re not wrong there I didn’t remember it being that bad. Like the reviewer, I completed it on rerelease on normal under an hour and thought really was that it!?! (I had to YouTube one of the exits TBF lol). I remembered it being much bigger and easier to navigate the levels, I guess that’s how we played back then trial and error with multiple runs until you know maps inside out.

I also found it strange that most of the levels you have to get back to the start with the artefact and then the last few levels the exit is in a different place nowhere near the start making it much harder, awful idea lol

Definitely one of those games when you go back to it, it’s not as good as you remembered

Still I’m very nostalgic for this and love its roughness and shortcomings. Being objective it has aged terribly you’re right.

I think at the time they rushed it out for the PS2 launch. Playing it now, it’s like it’s missing the story. I think a big thing for them at the time was it running fast and smooth in multiplayer, that’s why I think the graphics are a bit basic.

Half life was awesome, groundbreaking at the time, I was just thinking about it the other day funnily enough. I played it on PC back in the day, my mate got the PS2 version. Good times

Re: Mini Review: TimeSplitters (PS2) - A Fantastic Foundation with Flaws

LordFunkalot

No way, this is like an easy 9. Whilst I respect the reviewer he has clearly went mad giving this a 5 lol
Whilst 2 is the objectively better game, I always found 3 a bit soulless but Timesplitters 1 is a stone cold classic, one of the best early PS2 games. I picked it up on release a played it non stop for months. Not that I’m nostalgic about it or anything…

Re: Concord Pre-Load Available Now on PS5, Post-Launch Roadmap Revealed

LordFunkalot

I love the fact this is a 1st party, exclusive PS5 FPS. I would have preferred a kill zone/Socom/resistance however I still think it looks interesting and I liked the general gameplay on the beta.

It’s not the greatest game or anything but I liked it, thought it was fun enough for £35 and was interested in picking it up, smashing out a few trophies maybe the platinum and leaving it there when the next game comes along or playing it longer if it’s really decent.

The lack of interest in the beta, low numbers of players and reading the comments on sites like this puts me off and makes me cautious as I’d hate to pick it up and struggle to find games.

I hate all constant internet negativity games get nowadays. Sure it’s not perfect and it’s rough around the edges but not every game needs to be the next greatest thing or next massive tent pole game.

There’s a place for average to good games out there, they’re the sort of games that become cult classics.

Not saying concord will be a cult classic and it could be a load of rubbish (like redfall- but it’s definitely much better than that) , but the beta which I played for about 6hrs with my mate seemed ok and nowhere near as bad as the many comments and YouTube videos would have you believe.

I’ll have to wait and see I guess. It would have probably been different if there was a single player campaign mode.

Re: Training Modes, No Battle Pass, More Details Confirmed for Concord in Post-Beta Q&A

LordFunkalot

@Korgon I’ve just posted what could have been a reply to your post lol. I’m exactly of the same opinion.

Definitely have a point re the community. I don’t mind the price as I enjoyed it much more than I thought. It’s the idea of no one else playing it not long after launch that puts me off.

It’s not great that it’s getting the bad press/such negative numbers either as that’ll push people away too. I really do think there’s people out there that see the bad press/numbers and are turned off immediately without playing it. I nearly was but thought what is there to loose and had a go and enjoyed it more than I imagined.

Re: Training Modes, No Battle Pass, More Details Confirmed for Concord in Post-Beta Q&A

LordFunkalot

I was expecting to hate the beta, but I actually kinda liked it. It’s nothing special but I thought it had some things going for it and liked the really chill vibe of the game and colourful retro art style. I liked the quick round times and it gave me that one more game feeling. Characters were a but cringe but I ended up putting 7hrs into the beta and felt a bit gutted when it went down.

At present it’s a 6/7 at best but I liked it’s an exclusive Sony FPS and new IP (that may be rose tinting my outlook). Wish it did better than it did player wise, if the price point was FTP or £15/20 then I think it wouldn’t be getting as much hate. I’ll be interested to see how it does but I imagine how it’ll play out.

Really wanted a kill zone or resistance reboot/new entry or a modern SOCOM. Sony is sitting on a gold mine of perfect FPS/TPS IPs for a game like this and it’s like they don’t even know it. Looks like they’ll take an L with concord which is a shame.
