@KingPev
I think I must have a high tolerance for repetitive tasks in open world games as I never tire of Ubisoft games and I never quite burnt out on Tsushima either, but I can totally see why many would find it super repetitive.

I am kinda sad I did everything now though, as I'd love a reason to jump back in on PS5. Have a belting weekend too me old china.

Re: Soapbox: PS5 Is Pushing Me Ever Closer to All-Digital

Lovespuds

Always helps that people 'in the industry' get most of their digital games gratis via a publisher of course.

Until the publishers stop charging full RRP on digital titles, dispite having no manufacturing costs, I will be sticking with physical. Even when titles eventually go on sale (digital titles are usually many months behind price drops for physical) they still cost more than the physical price.

Without the competition of different retailers, there is no way in hell publishers would offer a decent sale. The day we have a digital only industry you can get used to full price all day every day.

Re: UK Sales Charts: Spider-Man Is PS5's Hero While Call of Duty Shoots to Number One

Lovespuds

I think the Sony published games are too expensive and that will hurt the sales to some degree however, I don't think you can compare sales of Demon Souls on a platform with a relatively small userbase with cheaper AAA games which are available on multiple platforms.

Even if Demons Souls was more affordable I still think you would see it fall down the list which contains multiplatform titles or titles on Switch which has a huge userbase.

For my part, in the pursuit of a platinum trophy in Miles Morales, I got 23 hours of fantastic entertainment so I don't feel shortchanged per se, however, I would love to hear Sony defend the selling of the game at £50 when you can buy it for $40 in the US. I am now playing Demon Souls and whilst the price was unpalatable (I paid £66), I am confident I will more than get my monies worth from the title. Going forward though, I dont see me spending that kind of cash when I can wait a few months and get it at a more reasonable cost.

I dont think there is any way of avoiding scalpers exploiting the release of consumer electronics

In fact, I think the way the console pre orders happened probably prevented most scalpers from capitalising and organising. Had it been more organised the demand would still have outstripped availability.

Really sorry to hear that dude, I haven't had any shenanigans yet thankfully. Had an email saying the order has left the warehouse and is with the courier and will be delivered on time next week.

Hope you get your system without any hitches dude, hopefully just some administrative cock up that will be easy to address

Re: Alien Isolation Fans, This Is the Documentary For You

NoClip must be the most important game channel there is in my opinion, really well produced documentaries which give a real insight into the industry. Love Danny O'Dwyer and what he is doing at NoClip, I was always disappointed when he didn't move to GiantBomb, but it turns out NoClip was the right call, I hope he is making a good living from it.

Re: Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales Won't Have Any Playable Side Characters

I am with Bow Ties here, the critism of those sections were way overblown in my opinion. I got through them in 15 minutes flat, they were such a small part of the game and moreover, I found it quite cool to watch Spidey do his stuff from the perspective of a bystander.

Don't get me wrong, I don't have any thoughts on the subject of this news item, I am happy to play the game that the devs choose to create for me to enjoy.

Re: Bloodborne Fan Makes 60 Frames-Per-Second Patch, Hopes Sony Releases PS5 Update

Lovespuds

Don't get me wrong, I'd be all about a 60fps version of Bloodborne, but I do honestly feel too much is made of the way it ran on PS4. I played through Bloodborne many times on my way to getting the platinum and never really encountered any issues around its performance, at least, none that stick in my mind as something that detracted from how fab the game was.

Personally, I would be more excited for a PS5 version of the game which gives me another trophy list to work through, I'd be more than happy to cough up for that.

Love Darkest Dungeon, what an underrated game.

I was planning on waiting for Hades to come to PS4 but I caved in last night and bought it for my Switch. Believe the hype folks, it is staggeringly good.

May dip into Nioh 2 on PS4 and continue my progress through this fantastic title.

Re: Japanese Preview Image Shows an Actual PS5, Makes It Look a Lot Smaller

Lovespuds

Honestly looks like a pretty typical thumbnail used for YouTube, but it is a slow news day I suppose and there is a good chance this story will get some traction on N4G as another opportunity to bash Sony, you can already see the comments here claiming Sony are being intentionally deceptive etc.

It is a flipping thumbnail for a video, nothing more. The negativity around the PS5 is really wearing thin for me now. If this were an advert in a magazine and they had deliberately photoshopped the image I could understand it being highlighted, but this is desperate in my opinion.

Pretty much aligned with me then squire, I am more interested in Xbox now than I have been for 10 years or more, but it has nowt to do with BC, if they make exciting exclusives I may jump in in a few years time. But I am very much waiting to see if Xbox deliver on all their talk of exclusive games that they have done recently.

Re: This Is What a Bloodborne PS5 Remaster Could Look Like

@InsertUsername
Also, Sony are on record as saying your PS4 version of Bloodborne will work as is, so it's not like they are forcing anyone to buy this hypothetical remaster.

I will say, Digital Foundry's video this afternoon showing Series X' backwards compatibility did look very impressive, but then, it's not a deal breaker for me, new games are my priority.

Re: Second Wave of PS5 UK Pre-Orders Are Quick to Sell Out

Lovespuds

I had registered an interest for a pre order from Shopto in May, assuming that put me in the queue and I confirmed my pre order as soon as the option became available last week.

Unfortunately, Shopto still haven't confirmed if they can fulfill my pre order so, despite registering an interest 6 months ago, I now don't know if I have a console. Worse still, having assumed Shopto would prioritise people who registered months and months ago, I didn't even bother looking elsewhere. I am starting to get a little worried by Shopto's complete radio silence.

Re: Sony Considered Xbox Series S-Style PS5, Doesn't Think Lower Spec Models Have Had Success

Lovespuds

A console's success is all about hype, buzz and mindshare and in my opinion, it will be the full fat consoles that all of the focus will be on at launch, these will be the consoles demonstrating what next gen is capable of. Every website out there will focus on the main consoles and how fabulous the games will look, the S will be relegated to a 'by they way, this game is also available on S'.

Price will limit some to settling for the Series S, but I just dont see anyone who has the means choosing the series S over the true next gen consoles.

I see this arguement 'tempting for parents' bandied about as if it is still the 1980's and gaming is a still a kids pastime. Parents aren't blindly buying consoles anymore, the average gamer is in their mid 30s and are buying their own consoles. These buyers are going to go for the full fat experience if they can.

Even in respect of kids, they are pretty clued up themselves these days, they are pretty much educated consumers by the time they are 10 or 11 and they will be pretty explicit about what they want and again, I just dont see them settling for anything but the machines everyone is hyped for.

I moved to gaming on PC because of 1 game, Commandos, I could not get enough of the series and later on, the Desperados games, so I am quite comfortable with these games. I simply adore them, though nothing comes close to my first play through of Commandos 25 years ago.

I am surprised by how good the controls are on PS4 to be honest, very playable indeed.

Stick with it dude, hopefully it will click for you.

Dood, you have some great taste in videogames👍👍👍

Darkest Dungeon and Deadcells are fantastic games, I just started Desperados an hour ago and already love it, but I loved Shadow Tactics too so knew what to expect.

Are you aware of Commandos 2 coming to PS4 soon too?

I plan to play the crap out of Desperados 3, it's awesome.

Re: PGA Tour 2K21 - Sim Will Suit Golf Fans to a Tee

Lovespuds

I know you can only do so much to a golf game, but this does seem really soulless and sterile, and I think it looks quite poor graphically.

If you contrast the attention to detail in something like MLB The Show with this, it seems clear that the devs have just done what was needed rather that push the genre forward in any way.

I very nearly jumped back into TLOU2 to add those new trophies to my Platinum but have decided to show restraint and earn them on PS5, just on the off chance the game gets an update for PS5.

Excited to hear its tough, I loved grounded mode in the first game. Have a tip top weekend chief.

Its easy to forget just how awesome the PS3 was, it really is a fantastic console. Congrats on the Platinum, that's a good effort, are you going to do it again for the remaster? 😁

I have been looking at giving The Puppeteer another playthrough personally and really want to give Tokyo Jungle a look as it was a game I always fancied but never got around to playing.

Have an awesome weekend.
