More time in Paris, trying to knock off a bunch of challenges in Hitman, I am really hooked at the moment. It's so cool, funny, stupid and visceral, all at the same time.
Probably try a little Bayonetta on Switch while the footy is on too , there are some good fixtures this weekend. Have a fabulous weekend everyone!
@NathanUC
It's always fab when that happens, it's really cool that Japanese games are making there way to the west more and more frequently.
For me, it's what makes PlayStation so irresistible, the combination of western developed games, mainstream Japanese games, the more niche Japanese games and exclusive games is unbeatable in my opinion.
@Gamer83
This is US only, and even then, the margins were slim. You have to imagine that in respect of the more important worldwide sales, Sony is still dominating.
Not trying to downplay the Switch here, I love my Switch to bits.
I am really excited to play this game, but I still cannot help but feel disappointed that they didn't re-release Nino Kuni on PS4 before hand.
Still, Nino Kuni 2 looks immense and I have it pre ordered, can any character in this sequel trump my fellow countryman Drippy, is the big question π
@Tasuki
Apologies for using the faeces expletive, it won't happen again.
Looking back through my history I am struggling to spot any instances where I have used coarse language so I am not sure that I have been warned 'several times', I am not sure a public shaming was really required either.
Nonetheless, I apologise to the community for any offense caused. Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone.
I think EA peaked with Fight Night 3 when it comes to sports combat games. I love UFC but there is no way to faithfully recreate the ground game is a fun, dynamic way.
I am very late to the party, but I am about to start Hitman on PS4. I am really excited to play it as I watch a lot of Giantbomb and they played the poo of this game.
I will mix in a little Monster Hunter World too I expect, but I must be honest, I am struggling to make progress in that game. I just feel overwhelmed as I have a terrible need to collect everything when playing video games so I am obsessing about trying to methodically complete every side quest, make every armour set and all the rest.
Well, personally, I am still anticipating the title for now. Codemasters know there stuff where racers are concerned and I am a 'glass half full' kinda guy, mix in some staff from Evolution Studios and I think it has a good chance of being a fun game.
I am personally really interested in this game, but then, I love anything remotely 'souls like' in respect of mechanics. I am also a real sucker for anime art so this game ticks quite a few boxes for me.
Super friendly staff, great range of Commodore 64 and Amiga games. I remember buying my first game with money I earned at my first job at Software+, I felt so grown up. Microprose Soccer on the C64, god I loved that game.
I also remember a summer holiday from school and waiting outside for Software+ to open with my best friend, waiting to buy the first Sensible Soccer game (long before that developed into Sensi World of Soccer). My mate and I had been playing the demo disk for weeks in the run up to release...we were so excited! π
It eventually got bought out if I remember and moved to a more upmarket shop in a better location, but it lost is soul in the process and their prices crept up so I sadly went elsewhere.
Wow, I would be all over this, like white on rice!!!
Disappointed to see negativity around the Crash remakes in this comments section, personally, I felt they were fantastic and that the dev did pretty much a perfect job of remaining faithful to the source material while updating the games for a modern audience.
If Spyro meets the same level of quality as the Crash remaster I will be thrilled to bits.
I always play a goodie two shoes, so it was actually quite refreshing to play as evil on my second play through of ISS. Coincidently, I did my hard play through as evil too, the evil powers were fun to use indiscriminately so I feel evil + hard us the way to go.
Loved Infamous Second Son, a little under appreciated in my opinion, although the main character is a bit irritating (that might be the old git in me thoughπ). It was actually quite a satisfying Platinum trophy as it forced me to do what I never do usually, and be a baddy.
As for real life stuff, I feel your pain, they aught to mention this real life stuff as part of the marriage vows π
Never played a Kingdom Hearts game, the ridiculous way they number their games makes it super confusing as to what games I 'need' to play and what are optional or remixes of the same games.
Even in the PS4 remix release it's unclear if there are multiple versions of the same game or whether you need to play everything in the compilation.
It's a shame as I would like to play what I need too in preparation for KH3 but I have heard the story is ridiculously convoluted and you need to play hand held titles etching to be fully caught up.
I had real fun with this after it was given away with PSN. It's easy to complain about the servers but in reality, I bet nobody is playing the game and as a result, it makes no financial sense to keep the servers running.
@MDHegs That's really cool, my lad doesn't seem to interested unfortunately, but I'd love to play it with him. Looks like solo with a little MP with colleagues.
I had the game pre ordered but it's going to have to sit on the shelf this week as I am 9 chapters into Yakuza 0 at the moment.
It's fascinating just how popular Japanese software has become over the last few years compared to last gen, there really are some fabulous games coming out of that region on PS4....I cannot get enough of them!
I would love a remaster too, it's been donkeys years since I played it, I actually imported my copy because it wasn't announced for the West for ages after it released in Japan.
I have to say though, as much as I love it, Dark Souls is the better game in my opinion. It took Demon Souls and refined it and made a better title.
@MadAussieBloke
Not to be 'that guy', but I found loads of decent titles to play on the Wii......Mario Galaxy 1&2 are still my favourite Mario titles, despite how great Odyssey is.
As for Monster Hunter, I have never played one and I am really excited to give this a go. Do you spec your character build towards a certain weapon, or is it easy enough to change weapons to see which you prefer?
I guess no matter how competent this game turns out to be, it's got an uphill struggle on its hands with gamers due to the general negativity surrounding Konami.
I am not a multiplayer guy at all so my interest in this game is very low anyway, but if Konami make a good game that appeals to me, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
Sorry to be a grumpy guts, but I never really understood why these games were so popular back in the day. I played them on PC so for the time they looked cool, but I thought they played quite poorly.
I just felt they were quite average games I guess.
@Fight_Teza_Fight
I finished Prey last weekend, really under appreciated title in my opinion.
My only gripe with the game was with design of the enemy, I hated them and while it would have been more generic, I would have much preffered a more humanoid kind of enemy.
People, if you liked BioShock or Dishonoured I am sure you would find a lot to like about Prey.
I used to love a game called Ruff n Tumble on my Amiga back in the day, that character looks like he stepped out of that game except he has now turned into a complete douchebag
@AFCC I love me some Captain Price, how can you not with that fabulous facial hair however, Isaac Clarke was also a tremendous character, a believable everyman, a simple engineer thrown into fulfilling the role of saviour of the universe.
Dead Space was an utterly incredible game, I would love a remake in fact.
@Wunters
Agree 100 percent, and that is what was included in the demo. Up until then I had no interest in this kind of game but that demo changed everything for me.
After the GoW3 demo I immediately pre ordered GoW3, I revisited the earlier titles in the series, played Bayonetta and any other 3rd person fighting/action game I could think of and it is now amongst my favourite genres.
Turns out the earlier titles held up fantastically and I also loved Acsension personally, I particularly the elephant-like baddies. I always felt that game got a bad rap. It was never going to live up to 3, but that didn't make it a bad game by any stretch.
I am considering another play through of 3 on my PS4 as I have been listening to the soundtrack a lot lately....what an epic game!
@mookysam I still have Captain Toad to play, its on my WiiU backlog.
I cannot recommend Nier Automata enough, utterly flipping brilliant game, easily the best music I have heard this year in a videogame.
Be warned, I don't think it gives the best 1st impression, it does have the trappings of a fairly old fashioned open word game but push on through and you will be rewarded, it really is as good as the pundits say.
@gingerfrog
Sounds like a plan.....are they old enough for part time work? My youngest has a part time job at McDonald's so the stars often align so that it's just me and my dog, Jack, on a Saturday afternoon (My wife usually does a bit of shopping on a Saturday arvo).
@MadAussieBloke Will you really hop around all of those games over the weekend?
I find it really hard to have more that 2 games on the go at any one time personally. I usually try and have two very different titles on the go, if I am playing a RPG for example, I will balance it out with a shooter or platformer. I might add a third game for short bursts too if the mood grabs me, usually a racer like Wipeout or MarioKart8 Deluxe.
Hoping to wrap up the criminally overlooked Prey this weekend, with a side order of Zelda: BotW to change things up.
If you like Arkane Studios other stuff you will love Prey, fantastic game, not quite up there with Dishonoured 1 and 2, but great nevertheless. The only real gripe is with the enemy design, but the world building, setting and story are all fab.
By the time I earned the Plat I was well and truly burnt out on AC: Origins. Thats not to say I didn't enjoy it, it was an awesome game but I personally feel like Ubisoft still fall into the trap of filling their world's with rinse and repeat side quests, the map was utterly littered with question marks.
Fabulous game, loved the characters, the story and the incredible setting, just a bit too much repetition of the side stuff.

It's crazy how much game you can get for your money with both Witcher 3 and Dark Souls 3.

Unless you intend to play it in hand held form on the Switch, surely it has to be PS4, this game is going to look so much sharper on PS4.
I need to get back to playing the 1st game again on PS4, I finished it twice on PS3 back in the day, what a thoroughly brilliant title.
