Hate to agree with the article but they don’t have much on the horizon the next several months. Granted people play non VR games too, but still
What bothers me is the lack of app support. YouTube VR is gone, there’s seemingly nothing non game wise you’d think they’d have at least a few apps ready to take advantage of it.
@Zuljaras though I don’t wish bad upon them, the always online thing was news to me. Haven’t been following the production of this game at all, but it’s weighing on my decision to get it. Overall loved the beta and agree with a lot of what the article mentions. Diablo 3 gave me hours upon hours of fun.
Plenty of other games to play anyway if this doesn’t end up on my machine.
@nathanSF i waited a year before playing Cyberpunk on PS5
Only ran into a couple gameplay bugs. Several graphical hitches (which I’d honestly expect from a game of this size).
Overall I got miles out of this game and completely enjoyed it.
It should’ve never been released in the state it was. Reminds me of another great game Deliverance Kingdom Come. That game was great, but another example of releasing a game too early.
Maybe devs can stop making deals with their investors that force these games out before their ready.
Has a game ever come out before an announced release date? That would be something.
@NeonPizza it’s a great game in VR. Not even a fan of the RE series, but after enjoying RE7 on psvr it was the first thing I picked up for PSVR2. Honestly I don’t know how I could ever play one of those games not in VR now.
Haven’t had time for much else but those have been great.
Might be a strange request but I do hope some games start offering a dualsense controller option vs the psvr2 sense controllers
I’m probably in the minority here, but I move my arms all day and don’t feel like drawing a virtual bow back or virtual climbing hundreds of times in the evening.
@Boucho11 mass effect 1, still a great game, has aged a little bit, but ME 2 has got to be one of my favorites of all time. The beginning is just so epic too…
Fantastic games
Played through the legendary edition earlier this year.
As a fan of both consoles… I don’t mind MS getting Activision. This whole time they’ve been needing something more than Gears n Halo. Now that they are making those moves they get crapped on. Personally I never cared for either IP. Them owning Bethesda and games like Starfield Fallout and ES6 might actually get me to purchase their console.
Sonys knocked it out of the park with their exclusives timed or not. Time for MS to get a few more wins in the game column
I’ve worked with crews from some big time films… always contracted however. Didn’t end up in any credits. Was never a big deal to me personally. Definitely not to the point of bringing it up in public. I was just stoked it’s all resume food and to have the jobs I had.
That being said sounds like it was a pretty significant portion she was involved in. Yes if they can credit random play testers then someone working on the music should surely be credited. Curious if she brought it up in house before publicly speaking about it.
@ROTTIEMAN16 I do wish Sony would push it more as well. So META isn’t the only one. Don’t think they’ll break out until they make an untethered one however.
I know folks want AAA made for VR new games but I had a blast in Skyrim even if it was ported for VR. I wouldn’t mind more backlog stuff being ported over in the time being while they work on those larger AAA items. Just so there’s more content.
By the end of the day I just want to couch it anyway. Don’t need all VRs bells and whistles functional.
@ROTTIEMAN16 that and everyone always complains the workers in the game industry get pushed too hard or don’t make enough. $$ gotta come from somewhere.
@ROTTIEMAN16 right there with ya old timer!!!! VR was the first “wow moment” tech I used since first holding an iPhone. My dad used to know folks at Atari in Sunnyvale CA in the 80s and would take me to their HQ game room. Things have come a long way.
@Dezzy70 Though I think Forbidden West is a solid beautiful game with fun gameplay, the story(ies) feel soulless to me. And the acting was garbage.
Elden Ring was something I couldn’t put down. Forbidden West was something I paused on many a time. I like them both for different reasons, but more reasons belonged to Elden Ring.
Tomatoe Tomato I suppose. Though I’m excited to play Ragnorak this years crown so far belongs to Elden Ring for me.
Definitely can depend on the game. The only things that got me a little squirrely were some cheap luge demo game that had a lot of fast and jagged up and down movement.
The other was surprisingly some option on RE7 that made the graphics even smoother. Which one would think would be better, but my eyes started feeling wonky. I still had smooth motion on and switched back the option (forgot what setting it was).
Takes some folks a while to get VR legs Something that helped a couple of my friends was acting out the movement slightly. Ie looking left in VR actually turning your neck a little bit with your eyes. Could get into the science behind that (physiology/kinesiology background) but I’ll stop there.
@xx_PharsydeChemist_x that’s literally the only reason I’d want it on PS… but I also like that MS finally got an exclusive dev that Id actually want an Xbox for…
@AverageGamer nope not expecting no account just not into sharing my info with Meta Oculus or anything Zuck touches. Clearly companies thrive off data collected nowadays, but the span of FBs influence, the data they collect, and how they decide what’s ethical in use of that data I feel they’ve become too big for their own good. Flat out, I don’t trust them anymore. That’s my personal opinion.
Plus I’d like it to be more open hardware (which I know is a pipe dream) and not be influenced to, required or compromised to access its storefront because of the company that now governs Oculus.
I should add however I do feel Meta is good for the future of VR in the sense of pushing the industry. Perhaps not it’s industry practices.
@Uncharted2007 seriously… all this talk about not having to have a Facebook account and then they go and require a Meta account. Medias been relatively silent on this.
@Flaming_Kaiser it took me forever to beat… I was only able to play it at night and could only handle so much. Not the type of game to play before you need to sleep haha
@AnnetteM my first time will be in VR. Sole reason I haven’t picked it up. RE7 was great in VR and a brutal way to introduce newbs to VR. Had some good laughs and almost a broken headset more than once.
One of the reasons I switched to PS was because of the exclusives and I already own a PC. So an Xbox didn’t make any sense anymore. I’ve been rooting for Microsoft to nab some exclusive options and now when they do they get a bunch of flak.
I think they deserve to tip the scales a bit. Granted these bigwigs like Sony and MS own too much already like most big tech, but in all fairness MS has needed some of this.
Admittedly I don’t know enough of the details about this particular deal however.
@TrickyDicky99 ok fair enough but not really my point. For instance. When you upgrade a graphics card on a pc you’re getting less overall features than what a VRHMD would bring for way more of a cost. Just pointing out that it simply isn’t just a VR display, but a display that allows you to play VR or regular while the TV is freed up. Worth the $$ to me
@sword_9mm I agree… it’s still a niche market. Glad it’s survived long enough to warrant improvements. I still consider all HMDs working through kinks of what works and what doesn’t.
Everyone might have their own justification. Mentioned it before in a post but you’re getting a 4K display… frees up your tv & it has VR features. Makes sense to me if it’s more than $500 and worth the money if you have it.

Re: Poll: We Need You to Rate More of Your Fave PS5 Games
@CallMeDuraSouka I justify my unnecessary backlog purchases by thinking “well at least I’m putting food on some developer/employees plate somewhere”
Re: Soapbox: PSVR2 Already Feels Like It's on Course for Failure
@ArcticSin spot on Arctic. If they made it compatible with PC they’d get a giant slice of pie real quick.

They came out of the gates with strength

Re: Preview: Diablo 4's PS5 Beta Was Impressive, But It's Raised Some Concerns
@Athrum didn’t even think of the idea of aspects of this game only beatable if teaming up. Don’t care for forced multi player bummer

Re: Cyberpunk 2077's Working Metro System Rumour Shot Down as Fans Await the Big Update
Who’s anyone kidding
People will be lining up to buy Witcher 4 when it comes out.
Be glad they made this mistake with Cyberpunk as a lesson for Witcher 4

Re: Ubisoft Helps Out Its Writers by Implementing AI Tech to Do Their Job for Them
@Gaia093 soulless is unfortunately the perfect way to describe most of their writing.
Solid games, but the writing is probably one of the consistently worst parts about their games. Maybe this will help
Re: Poll: We Want You to Rate Your Favourite PSVR2 Games
Resident Evil 8
Horizon CotM
Haven’t had time for much else but those have been great.

They could be dropping rumors just to get Microsoft and Nintendo to make moves…
Re: Question Your Senses in Bone Chilling PSVR2 Horror Afterlife VR
Not even a fan of the horror genre
But after RE7 and Phasmophobia I’ll play it
Perfect fit for VR
Re: Gran Turismo 7 on PSVR2 Is the Full Game, Except for Split-Screen Play
@Titntin bummer T! Though for some people it seems inevitable
Things you can try if you haven’t
Seasickness bracket - lightly stimulates a pressure point on the wrist known for sea sickness
Make sure the HMD is fitted well (when I first demoed VR in retrospect it was clear the person assisting me had no idea what they were doing)
Various settings within certain games can be adjusted for smoothness, turning etc
Sometimes smooth isn’t always better!
Get massage on a muscle called sternocleidomastoid (associated with muscle he ear, jaw, headaches & equilibrium issues if tight)
Don’t play poorly developed games
Move your head with your eyes
Just a few things for you or anyone to try and mitigate nausea!
As stated before
Might just be one of those things
Cheers
Re: Poll: Share Your First Thoughts on The Last of Us TV Series
Loved it
The way they built a connection between Joel and his daughter so quickly was impressive. Aside from that some good production value already too
Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give The Witcher 3 PS5 Version?
Solid upgrade… and same for several folks here… the combats the weak point but not horrible.
I have not run into a single big or glitch so I suppose I’m lucky.
It’s aged amazingly well. I’d give it a solid 9. Still probably the best side quest game I’ve ever played.

@Dr_Luigi I hear ya… definitely not for everyone.
Re: Hogwarts Legacy Looks Like Another Magical PS5, PS4 Open World
@Dr_Luigi let me know if it works. If not may I suggest What Remains of Edith Finch
It’s basically a walking simulator, but the story was great.
Re: Talking Point: What Are Your Thoughts on Protagonists Discussing Puzzles?
@man_what lol something about “ Kratos would never walk around picking up every twig...and he definitely wouldn't have time for "puzzles".”
Just made me laugh. Ya damn right!!!! He’d likely get some dwarf lackey to do it for him.
Re: Talking Point: What Are Your Thoughts on Protagonists Discussing Puzzles?
It’s a little overwhelming, but sometimes appreciated in a game like Forbidden West
So an option would be nice.
In the meantime tone down her octopus hair animations and maybe we could hit 60fps in 4K mode.
Re: Poll: Will You Pay the PSVR2 Launch Price?
@thefourfoldroot1 I would’ve never played resident evil on a flat screen. VR was an amazing experience and I don’t even like that genre.

@Dr_Luigi was debating on steam deck as well… then I found out steam deck 2 is in the works. So psvr 2 for now it is!

I’m sure they’ll just send him the code for MW
A bad screw up would’ve been a box filled with kitty litter

Luckily I’m more of a SP game I can pause gamer
Re: Rumour: That Long Awaited Silent Hill Reveal May Be Coming Sooner Rather Than Later
Make it VR capable and launch it with PSVR2! I don’t even like the horror genre but RE7 in VR is still top of my list for VR games.
Re: Developers Should Have an Easier Time Porting Their Games to PSVR2
@LimitedPower the move controllers and tracking are my biggest hurdles with the current headset. They are just atrocious.
And currently using a ps5 having to switch the cable because the little connector box doesn’t use hdr pass through or something like that is a pain
