@nomither6 Bo Jackson is an absolute legend. Super humble. Makes his own arrows now, loves archery and stays out of the limelight. One of those “league of their own” players that has mythical stories about him.
@Bleachedsmiles pretty sure Sony sees MS strength in service and has to at least keep a foot in the door.
That being said. I never cared for MMOs or service games. Games that basically have no ending. Personally I have too much variance in my gaming.
Always thought of Live and PSN as a free bundle of games every year + online optional play for the price of a couple cheap games. Usually get my hours out of one or two of those freebies every year to make it more than worth it even if 75% of it is trash I’ll never play.
@Perturbator I hope they are already working on PSVR2 ports now. So we have some games to play at launch. I didn’t mind Skyrim being ported for VR. Was great.
Would wet the bed if they ever ported GTA, RDR2, and RE8 for psvr 2 at launch. Throw in some Half Life Alyx to top it off. They would probably double their PSVR2 sales just with these titles alone.
@Steel76 I showed some car crashes to a coworker with those realism mods.
She had no idea it was a game. Pretty amazing what mods can do. Not sure why they don’t just hire, supervise, and have some of these off company talents brush up their games across systems so they can have their regular crew focus on new games.
@Ralizah the soulsborne games brutalized me at first. My dexterity isn’t that great for them. Not sure what it was for you, but what finally changed things for me was Bloodborne.
I found that I had to level up a bit more to somewhere overpower my character for the next area I’d go into. Initially I had always just tried to progress through the games to fast.
This allowed me to make a mistake from time to time and not die right away. Granted they were still hard but after I figured that out with Bloodborne I was able to go back and tackle the other Souls games and Sekiro more easily.
My two cents… for money you might not be asking for
Ghost of Tsushima Directors Cut on PS5. Yes would’ve been nice having the upgrade for free, but don’t mind paying a small chunk of change for such a great game
From another perspective however… the problems at Activision have a ton of light shining on them right now. Which is great. I’d say enough to give them a black eye and inspire drastic change. Perhaps those (and said families) who aren’t toxic in that place still stand to benefit in having their hard work promoted.
Just my two cents. Getting Battlefield anyway. Was never great at the run n gun in CoD.
@FinneasGH those were phenomenal. I don’t remember which one it was but our goal was always to make the other person bleed by throwing them into the turnbuckle. If you made your opponent bleed even if you lost the match you saved some face haha.
I’ll play madden again when they allow a franchise mode to retire players and still view all their stats. So my current players can be compared to something. I could care less about MP.
Also I’ve wished for the ability to add players during and or at the end of the season for franchise mode.
Don’t think that’s been an option for a while from what I’ve gathered.
You know where you gun down a couple enemies, tank shoots down the building you are in, after somehow managing to survive falling to the ground, a grenade goes off near you dropping you down to a sliver of health while you run disorientated through a bunch of smoke deafened by gunfire and explosions
After making it through all that breath a sigh of relief and wonder how you survived only to turn and have some pilotless plane fall out of the sky and crash down into you.
@R1spam No way it’s the same thing! It’s Ubisoft! They never recycle or repeat their work! [sarcasm font]
Looking forward to seeing how this plays out. A good story and or at the least good characters would be a nice change coupled with their games generally solid gameplay.
@Xenomorph_79 I don’t think the exclusivity thing is any one companies fault...
As a mainly PS/PC player I’m stoked MS is getting a broader range of exclusives for their console whether they are timed or outright exclusive. Personally didn’t find last gens handful appealing enough. Looking forward to a series X on the shelf at some point and it’ll be the exclusives that bring me to that point.
@Jeremiah_Thor didn’t even think about that. As much as I want new VR content I really don’t mind remade older content in VR. I personally loved Skyrim in VR even though it was probably the 4th time getting it.
@nessisonett that’s the thing that bums me out.. when I see reseller pics of several stacked consoles going for 3x as much... and other don’t have one.
Doubt it’ll go down either until after the holidays. Then back up again if a big game releases or they stick to online only ordering.
Though I’m not super bummed to not get a system right away I only hope they aren’t going to be locked up behind some bot/reseller wall for a year.
By not offering direct cues or abundance Sony and MS are missing out on a lot of drunk holiday sales buys. Still don’t understand why they couldn’t just accept a bunch of direct orders and give a “your console will be shipped on date x an email will be sent to confirm payment” etc
Would seem like a great way to not over produce, save on shipping, appease some of the masses.
Sucks to see all those consoles locked up on eBay and Seller sites for 3x as much, especially when tons of people are tied for cash, stuck at home, or looking forward to some holiday fun.
@Kopite I’m pretty sure I saw an article a while back that the devs intentionally increased the load times because people were not able to read the tooltips.
@TVRFLY I don’t know each companies financial details, but something tells me MS has a lot more $$$ than Sony overall. I’d be more surprised at Sony pulling off a purchase like that than MS buying Bethesda.
As a gamer who’s loved both pc and ps4 titles .... not worried
Honestly I’m stoked MS finally got some big name studios under its belt. It’s the reason I skipped last gen for Xbox.
Sony’s exclusives are flat out what got me to get a PS4. Though I have a PC I’d probably get an Xbox if the next Bethesda powerhouse games were even 6 month or year exclusives for XboxSX and or PC.
With gamepass and these big studios it’s hard to deny they’ve finally leveled the reasons to get one.
Ps5 will still be on the shelf however. Now that I’ve played games like GoW, Horizon, Persona 5, Bloodborne etc I couldn’t see myself skipping them in this upcoming gen.
@Absymbel I must’ve added an XBoX Series X to my cart 20 times this morning only to see errors with my shopping cart. The last few wishful attempts were met with the “no more available” message.
I was spam clicking from 7:59am too. Was such a tease seeing the buttons clickable over and over and still ending up empty handed.
@B_Lindz honest question... is it really a huge deal? I’m usually around 800gb. Worst case scenario I delete a game, install and use the bathroom or make myself some food. It’s just never been some game changing issue for me so I’m genuinely curious why it seems to be a big deal to some

Been wanting PS5 Mortal Shell for a while now
All comes down to whether that upgrade is available at or at least cheap for PS5

@General_Spiller seriously! Though it’s not just gaming… it’s society in general.
Re: PS4 Games That Need a PS5 Patch
@Perturbator did you play RE7 in VR? Still one of the better VR games I’ve played. I own a PC HMD as well and it still stands up to PCVR.
Just took me a year to get through it. Because I could only play at night and not the kind of game that should be played before trying to sleep. Haha

@andy24king if milking GTA V means rockstars employees are having jobs longer. I’m all for it
Sucks but those workers deserve money for the grind they must endure.
Assuming it actually helps them and or keeps them employed of course.

Re: Naughty Dog's Multiplayer Game Described as Cinematic Experience Between Players
@UrbanPlaystation I agree
Unfortunately multiple companies have buried their records trying to go the route of MMOs
Depends what they want to get out of it I suppose. That and how revolutionary it ends up being

@Telekill I thought TLOUs mp was great
I just couldn’t get any of my friends to play it with me
Re: GTA 5: All PS5 vs PS4 Differences
How about a Hot Coffee mod snuck into the update
Bet that would drive some serious sales

@mcdreamer agreed. Not having a map just adds to the playful anxiety. Never bugged me and forced my brain to work a bit harder.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 390
Ghost of Tsushima Directors Cut on PS5. Yes would’ve been nice having the upgrade for free, but don’t mind paying a small chunk of change for such a great game
Re: Poll: Did You Buy Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut?
Got it, same reason I bought Skyrim 8 billion times across multiple platforms and version.
Great game, will totally play some upgrade dlc and want to see what they can do next so here’s some money.
As long as they don’t pull a Cyberpunk with their next project

VR will only get better. Hopefully I’ll be alive to see it reach matrix levels of immersion

Looks great on the specs
As long as it has better tracking.
Hoping for a future stand-alone to compete with the quest though so I don’t have to deal with Overseer Zuckerberg

Re: Soapbox: Sony Needs to Bang Down Valve's Door to Get Half-Life: Alyx on PS5's PSVR

Re: PS5 Teardown Video Proves Immensely Popular with Huge View Count
Looks like it was built with care and a nice artistic touch. The outer design reminds me of several
International airports I’ve seen.
Would love to see some video animation representing the flow of air through and around the console.
Re: Talking Point: Are You Worried About the Future of Western RPGs on PS5?
@Oscarjpc I’d be blown away if MS tried to choke out 100 million PS4 users of Bethesda games.
Then again
It’s probably payback time and I wouldn’t put it past MS to not play nice if they catch up to Sony in the console market.
