Sony might be opting to open up PSVR2 to platforms developments.

If they cant support it through their own IPs then perhaps the move to pc was the first indicator of opening it to support from other platforms.

Seems like a decent strategy to not entirely give up on it.

No physical drive built in is the deal breaker for me.

I’d be open to get an external but only if the console was closer to $500

Would be nice to have an Xbox that has that capability natively however.

No disc drive is a major deal breaker for me in addition to price. Was all for it until those tid bits of news

If I knew they had several PSVR2 AAA 40+hr games in the pipeline that were going to somehow benefit then maybe if there was a disc drive in it too

@nessisonett maybe I missed it but I’d assume there’s a way/mode to keep leaders true to their cultures etc. like how there were ways to start a game on an earth map with civilizations in relative starting areas

@RubyCarbuncle it definitely needs a patch or two. I’ve got it up and running, but have tried two different Bluetooth set ups and the controllers are not agreeing with much even though one of the Bluetooth links I’m using is a supposedly approved by Sony one.

Super clear and beautiful image, but navigation is a bit wonky.

Managed to play some Subnautica, and Red Dead 2 (w Luke Ross Mod) last night. Red Dead is awesome in VR. It’s an absolute shame we likely would never get an official version.

I could see that leading to a slower adoption as well.

The pandemic still feels like this weird hole in time but it’s ripples haven’t stopped rolling.

@jruasap for me Bloodborne taught me how to play these games. I’m not as dexterous as some of these folks so I’d need all the help I can get. The game changer for me was don’t be greedy, not rushing and over leveling a bit before the next area.

@GKT yes but will we be able to hunt down 10,000 lbs of meat and only carry back 60lbs of it is the real question

@Jaz007 I barely played the RE games… don’t care for the genre… that is… until it came out in VR.

RE7,8&4 were great. Hopefully they continue the trend.

Great game. Not too stressful, just don’t get too greedy collecting items when your O2 is low. Good story, fun gameplay, and quirky anime like presentation. Can’t recommend this game enough. I probably have 70hrs across steam and switch.

Loved how calculated the combat was. Couldn’t just rush in and go crazy.

Dave the Diver is a phenomenal game

Great progression, decent story, quirky in all the right ways.

For most single player games I think there is a purist bunch that wants things initially untouched. No data mined info, no major exploits, no micro transactions.

Then there’s those players that would like to play a game but don’t have the time to grind for things. Though I’m against most mtxs other than cosmetics that don’t effect gameplay, I would be less opposed to mtx saayyyy 3-6 months after a game launched.

I get these devs need to make $$ as the price of a game hasn’t gone up to cover the cost of production and cost of living nowadays.

@Jaz007 I’d prefer most of the PSVR2 games to support regular controller use. Don’t feel like waving my arms around at the end of my day. Mostly care about visual immersion more than anything

Even PSVR/PSVR2, when they came out, it was simply me investing in a second screen that freed up the tv and could do cool things. At the very least

So $400-$600 or so for either isn’t out of the question. I certainly spend less than upgrading my pc overall. Granted a pc can do a lot more.

Maybe they could just make a 60fps or locked 30fps a microtransaction [sarcasm font]

The frame rate is pretty bad. Still enjoying it however. My only other gripe is some really bad pathing. Spent minutes waiting for some npcs I was following to get around a dead ogre.

MTX wasn’t even noticeable and not in your face. Though I don’t like that it’s an option I think the reaction is overblown.

Biggest gripe is the frame rate which is pretty bad in my opinion. Mess with your eyes bad.

@Voltan agreed… though I go through spurts. Where I’ll play it every day for a game… then I just don’t want to be waving my arms around and switch to something else.

Wish devs would always support regular controller input. Sometimes I just want the visual immersion at the end of the day.

That being said I wish there was a bit more in the pipeline as well as a solid media player at this point.

People seem to forget its niche and the pandemic. That and there’s plenty of regular games to play. Never expected VR to replace regular gaming. Just be an addition.

@maybemaybemaybe the first one on pcvr was amazing. Brought the nervousness of the ocean to a whole other level. Hopefully they consider it. I think Below Zero was a little too beefed up to consider for VR at the time, but perhaps they would consider this new one for PSVR2

Honestly none before Bethesda was bought out. That’s why I have a pc and a PS5

That being said. I absolutely would get behind a MS Flight Simulator PSVR2 port or any Bethesda VR port

Really a shame… I’m very happy with PSVR2 thus far, but feel like they shot themselves in the foot having it tethered.

Makes sense why Quest sold better. Everywhere I’d go I’d see stacks of it on the wall, it’s a standalone, cheaper investment for people, and a more thriving ecosystem.

Maybe Sonys next iteration will be portable/untethered and allow for game streaming. I know they had patents for the tech

Agree they are creatively bankrupt. Props for solid games, but their writing is atrocious and everything else is just playing it safe

Granted I can’t entirely blame them. They’ve found a mold that works until it doesn’t. People are getting paid. Just wish they’d take a real risk

This is straight up criminal. Blockchain tech is available to correct this and prove digital ownership across mediums. Class action lawsuit against all involved in a few years.

Seems worthwhile to some I suppose, but can anyone tell me how it’s any different/advantageous than just streaming to a tablet and using a controller?

Always figured digital sales should be cheaper and it never really amounted to that.

That being said

Spending $10-20 at an arcade in the 80’s wasn’t a big deal and nowadays you get days upon days of entertainment from a $60 purchase. Plus devs/employees deserve the money.

@Kevw2006 I thought I had read something at some point but couldn’t find it. Seemingly no actual versatile and supported browser. I vaguely remember something opening up when viewing an EULA but couldn’t navigate back to it.

Wonder if anyone’s tried accessing game pass through it?

Id be more for digital media if there was some universal blockchain record of it. So companies wouldn’t be able to just end your access to it. Across the board. Maybe one day

@Mad001 curious if it’s happened to you or anyone else… if I add something that’s free on Prime to my watchlist and come back to it later it’s often now requiring money. Almost as if they go “oh you’re interested in that? Well watch it right away or you’re going to pay!”

Agreed. That and I always get the feeling VRs success is measured by it somehow replacing regular gaming. Which it won’t. Nor do I personally have time to play it to that extent between pc and regular games on the ps5.
