Have my niece staying over and she is all about Undertale and Deltarune at the moment π€·π»ββοΈ. Must be watching folk streaming it or something.
As for myself I'll be finishing off Hyperion today, amazing book so far. I picked up Nier Automata: short story long. Looking forward to reading that and replaying both Nier games at some point. Otherwise I can't really be bothered with gaming just now!
Must be entering a new era of gaming. No DLC or MTX for a WB game, EA putting out lots of new single player games and live service ones dying off every other week!
I had started Elden Ring late last Saturday, but I'm hooked on reading just now. Current book is Hyperion by Dan Simmons, So I'll mostly be reading that later tonight. First though I'm off out to football thing the 90 minutes of footie will be a snoozefest but I'll persevere for the free grub and booze.
I never really got the Potter hype, grateful to Rowling for getting generations of kids to read though. I have seen all the movies but wasn't that impressed, Especially the way it ended. Will probably give the game a miss!
If Malazan ever gets a game though, I'll be first In line to play it.
Not sure If I'll play anything. PS5 has barely been on in the last couple of weeks. Really enjoying reading at the moment, current book is Ten survival skills for a world in flux by Tom Fletcher (not the one from McFly)!
I'll probably not bother with the show as to much other stuff to watch. Love the games though, lt will be interesting to see where they would go with a part 3!
Been mostly reading this week finished the book on Norse mythology, The Cat who saved books and halfway through The Rise and Fall of the Dinosaurs. Hopefully read more of that today.
As for gaming trophy hunting in Tales of Arise and indoctrinating my friends and family in Cult of the Lamb, like I used to blow them up in worms with sheep back in the day π
The switch is a nice little machine, but I rarely touch it. Got some games for it in the sales so I can give it some love. PS5 reigns supreme though, got plenty to play and 2023 is full of potential bangers that I have my eye on and probably some I don't!
@Beerheadgamer82 I'm lucky as my dad has fantastic taste in music so I grew up listening to stuff from the 60's and 70's and then 80's stuff was always on in the background before I started discovering my own bands. Got to see Oasis live twice, once in Aberdeen and the other at T in the Park. Those were the days π
I never pay attention to metacritic I go by pedigree of the studio and gameplay videos if it's from an unknown quantity, a short trailer is usually enough!
@Beerheadgamer82 love the profile pic. That was my first album I bought!
I loved them all and want Santa Monica to make the next game an autorunner, as Traversal was so satisfying in Ragnarok. I could endlessly jump back and fourth gaps using the Blades as it was so fun.
@somnambulance My first was Bloodborne and I loved it, setting was right up my street. Enjoyed Demon Souls also and I have the Dark Souls trilogy but only put about 40 hours into the first one. Bought Elden Ring in the summer but moved house so it ended up in the backlog along with the souls trilogy.
Basically I'm a fan of Fromsoftware's output but at the same time also enjoy Sony's first party games and couldn't care less where they place on a list. Forbidden West and Ragnarok are also special and I look forward to discovering the world of Elden Ring, to see how great it is!
The more people I see crying about Elden Ring not being #1 the more I want to play it. Definitely will have to keep my expectations in check though as the hype machine can be a bit OTT, I loved Ragnarok and Horizon Forbidden west. Looking forward to more great games in 2023. It helps to play a variety of genres and Indies as well as AAA to keep things fresh!
@JudgeDredd Sorry I fell asleep after I sent that comment. Good list of games there, only played Assassin's Creed origins and just heading to Rena in Talea of Arise (great game but just let me playπ)!
Happy new year and all the best to all at PS towers and the amazing community. Always great source of gaming news and plenty awesome folks in the community that are amazing to talk to!
@ShogunRok We all know that #1 is Babylon's Fall or some obscure JRPG. Whilst GT7 and Ragnarok are forgotten π
I haven't played Elden Ring yet, but looking forward to getting stuck in. The number 2 spot is certainly nothing to sniff at. Certainly doesn't make it a bad game!
Not yet played it. Have beaten Bloodborne and Demon Souls and about 40 hours of Dark souls remastered. Too many games and other things going on but I do plan on getting through them all, Downloaded Elden Ring onto the PS5 in preparation once the mood takes me!
@Cyberpsycho @bozz I'm not saying it's a bad thing but you shouldn't really judge a game wholly on it's visuals. Comics for example can have great stories but sub par art and vice versa, books can have fun stories but have horrible prose. You can still enjoy the overall product. Things like plot, characters gameplay mechanics can shine without top tier visuals.
Don't get me wrong, when everything comes together it's fantastic but not a total disaster if it isn't!
@RareFan At least Sonics getting plenty love. Tell Microsoft to hurry it up with New Banjo, Conker, JFG, Blast Corp, Viva Pinata. I'll even take a new Grabbed by the Ghoulies and Kameo follow up!
@nomither6 @Flora2122 I had fun with the game sure it has it's problems, mainly Chaos island being horrible to navigate. Story wasn't a draw for me but it was serviceable. Would have liked tougher enemies to utilize Sonics new move set as he's to OP by the end game.
Running around as Sonic was fun. I went for the platinum so it definitely wasn't a terrible game for me!
I've finally downloaded Elden Ring to finally experience this much talked about game. Only once I've finished Tales of Arise though, Cult of the Lamb I'm tempted to pick it up in the sale. Horizon is a superb game I can't wait for the Burning Shores, Got the plat for that and Ragnarok.
Will play the Last of Us remake once it is heavily discounted love the remaster and part 2.
No Thank you SSM for making a superb game, So much fun I spent just under a 100 hours playing this and did a replay of 2018 right before Ragnarok released and both games back to back were simply phenomenal!
@Max_the_German everything about it is better than the first game, I enjoyed the story but it's 50/50 whether you'll like it or not. it suffers from being the middle part of a story!
@Majk_SVK I loved the game but I think we could have spent more time with the Far Zenith crew to get to know them better they were pretty one dimensional.
Saying that though I love the series and can't wait for Burning Shores and Horizon 3π
@residentsteven that's fair enough with GOW and Horizon. Not every game is for every gamer but I wouldn't call it a terrible list if I didn't know the games I'd look into them more and maybe discover a hidden gem/classic!
@residentsteven You can't really call it a terrible list if you haven't played any of the games. Streets of Rage 4 is great though I'll give you that, need to jump back into it myself!
Great list, I need to play The Stanley Parable and Cult of the Lamb. Have no real interest in GT7 as I hardly touched GT Sport (prefer arcade/kart racers) but the top 2 are both phenomenal games in my opinion and either of them could take the top spot!

Great game. My biggest issue with it was by the end Sonic was way over powered and machines were no challenge, next time I'd love tougher enemies.
Re: Push Square's PlayStation Quiz of the Year 2022
16 out of 20. Not bad.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Xmas 2022 Edition

@Sevenifity Ender Lillies is fantastic, I got the platinum in no time at all it was so enjoyable.
Picked up Sword of the Vagrant for Β£8 on switch enjoying it so far but combat is pretty bare bones to begin with.

I'm staying at my in-laws this weekend, but if I get time on Sunday I'll be finishing up Sonic Frontiers for the platinum. Just 3 trophies left to go!

@Hindenburg I'm 40 and the Persona games are excellent. I'm not into Harry Potter but I have relatives in their 60's who are daft for it.
