When I eventually play I'll most likely be a warrior. Since I'm not a big fan of how the Qunari look in Veilguard (loved them in Inquisition), human it is.
@MrPeanutbutterz Fortunately, we are long past those "early days". Trophy hunting has expanded and ain't necessarily just about "challenge" anymore. I'm 37 and don't really have time or patience to platinum challenging games.
@GreatAuk It doesn't matter which game it is--Forspoken, AC: Shadows, Banishers, Death Loop, Dustborn, South of Midnight, etc--if there's a black protagonist, its the same vitriolic response. "Woke, DEI, forced diversity". "Go woke go broke". Which is the thinly veiled racists way of saying," too many blacks in my games".
So not baseless at all. If it walks like a racist, quacks like a duck, it's a racist duck.
@CrashBandicoat "99% of forced diversity is only in one direction, hence 99% of complaints are in one direction."Citation needed. This whole "forced diversity" is a baseless assumption on your part. What "strawman"? Where's the "nuance" in the comment I replied to? They saw a black protagonists and called it "forced diversity".
@KillerBoy Then why do we only hear about "forced diversity" (or woke and dei) whenever there's a non-white protagonist? It's thinly veiled racism, and apparently Pushsquare is becoming a cesspool of thinly veiled racists.
@BrettAwesome Two black protagonists in two games in 8 years. Well black-guy quota meant then? But THREE within 10 years?!!! Three is too many and is "forced durr and wokey durr", or something.
@Fartingale That's been my experience as well. If I filter out the ones raging about "woke" or "DEI" nonsense, I notice people actually enjoyed Outlaws and that it's a good game, but offered constructive criticism on parts that fell short of "good".
No sympathy. Sony literally states "a PlayStation network account required", so if any consumer reads that, chooses to disregard it, and buys God of War anyway, that's on you! Just make a PSN account, Jesus. You'll live.
I don't really like isometric games very much but I love vampires and gothic settings so I'm pretty sure I'll pick this up. However, I think I'll wait til they iron out the finicky bits.
@thefourfoldroot1 Or maybe they just have a different opinion about what "pretty" is. Or maybe female characters don't always need to be eye-candy. But you know, politics or whatever.
I never actually "finished" FO4 and I've always wanted to Platinum it. Since its pretty cheap on the PS Store and with this upgrade, seems like a perfect time to hop back in.
@NinjaNicky I'm not sure what one has to do with other. I don't like the modern Spider-Man movies but that didn't stop me from enjoying Insomniac's Spidey games. Same with Guardians of the Galaxy. Didn't much care for the movies but enjoyed the game.
@NinjaNicky The "or something" is how much we enjoy a game. The Platinum, or trophy hunting in general, is an integral part of the entire gaming experience for many trophy hunters, like gameplay, story, genre, etc. That's what people who "laugh" at others fail to understand. It's all about being entertained and satisfied with my purchase. That kinda is the point. It brings a slightly psychotic smile to my face whenever I get one. That is far from "useless" and very valuable.
It was definitely on my radar, has been since it first released on PC. Can't wait to play it. I'm not even a fan of top-down games, but I love gothic/vampire settings so much, I'm willing to look past the camera angle.
Great news! Let this be the beginning of the end of exclusives. Also, I really hope State of Decay 1 and 2 make the leap to PlayStation, I've always wanted to play them.
@Hellaween Yeah, it could be worse. I have to assume Rocksteady showed their best at the preview event but the response has been pretty unflattering. Add to that the unimpressive gameplay footage released today.
Hard pass. With it's vast resources, R* could have made this into something special, something worth 50 bucks. Instead, we quite possibly got the laziest cash-grab they could squirt out.
@Kidfried Oh, definitely. Just read the YouTube comments. They see a character with brown skin and assume he's African (Because apparently no Middle-Eastener has ever had brown skin), and pull out their "Prince of Wakanda" tripe.
@ATaco Oh, I didn't say YOUR criticism was about race or gender. You're not "fool enough" to talk about it. But let's be honest, the reason people "default" to that is for good reason. All you need do is head to the comment section of any game with a non-male or non-white protagonist and cast and you'll see. Whether that's the Last of Us 2, Forspoken, Saints Row, etc.
And sales doesn't mean that audience isn't buying those games, it could be that audience isn't as big... Yet.
@ATaco When I read your comment, I knew it was something offensive. It's the same type of tripe I see in YouTube comment sections. And I'm sure it's a total coincidence, but I tend to see such remarks whenever the protagonist and main cast are non-male and non-white. "Who are the devs trying to appeal to? That target audience doesn't even play games". So on and so forth...
Unless digital download sales are eventually taking into account, then it's meaningless to about sales figures, because we're not getting the full picture. And to call Forspoken a "flop" without having all the sales numbers is, respectfully, dumb.
I generally like weapon degradation, but it can either be a fun addition or a headache. If the degradation mechanic is similar to what Dying Light has, I'd be pretty happy about it.

Re: Dragon Age: The Veilguard Reveals Players' Most Popular Class, Race, and Faction

Re: Sony Boss Says It's 'Learned a Lot' from PC Player Pushback
These PC players still throwing tantrums about having to make a PSN account? Jesus Christ! Make one and play games or don't and move on.
Re: Dragon Age: The Veilguard Trophies Want You to Do Everything on PS5
@MrPeanutbutterz Not a "cop out", just reality. We're different people with different lives. (I can't believe I have to explain that) Nuff said.

Re: Dragon Age: The Veilguard Trophies Want You to Do Everything on PS5
@BIG3 Exactly! I'm not sure why it's so difficult for people to understand that hunting trophies IS us enjoying the game.
Re: Random: Internet Trolls Tried to Downgrade Our Silent Hill 2 PS5 Review Score
@Optimus They're definitely entertaining, especially the ones with Stage 4 anti-woke virus.

Re: Insider Report Adds Context to Assassin's Creed Shadows' Big Delay
@wiiware You heard? When was the last time a "usual" Assassin's Creed game had a nameless protagonist?
Re: Insider Report Adds Context to Assassin's Creed Shadows' Big Delay
@BrettAwesome Two black protagonists in two games in 8 years. Well black-guy quota meant then? But THREE within 10 years?!!! Three is too many and is "forced durr and wokey durr", or something.

Re: Don't Give Up on Jin Just Yet, More Ghost of Tsushima Spin-Offs Planned
@Deoxyr1bose Fully agree.
Re: God of War Ragnarok PC Mod Removes PSN Login Requirement
PC gamers trying to protect their "data" like its their virginity. And they'll only let that one special Corporation (Steam) have it.

Re: Dragon Age: Inquisition Massively Oversold Projections, Remains BioWare's Biggest Game
@AhmadSumadi Ha! Mine was Cassandra, Sera and Dorian. Mostly because I loved their banter.
Re: Dragon Age: Inquisition Massively Oversold Projections, Remains BioWare's Biggest Game
@AhmadSumadi Agreed. I love Inquisition and enjoyed exploring every inch of it. Cassandra was a permanent member in my squad. Irreplaceable.
Re: Ubisoft Investor Calls for Company to Go Private, and CEO Yves Guillemot to Be Replaced
@EchoRange Yep, sure is. Whenever someone mentions "DEI" or "woke", I just roll my eyes.
Re: Ubisoft Investor Calls for Company to Go Private, and CEO Yves Guillemot to Be Replaced
@Vaako007 Why? As if DEI is the problem with Ubisoft.
Re: LEGO Harry Potter Collection Will Be Re-Released for a Third Time on PS5
Wouldn't mind if Lego Marvel's Superheroes gets ported to PS5, would love to play it (and get the platinum) again.

Re: Preview: Star Wars Outlaws on PS5 Has a World of Possibilities, But Is Let Down by a Rough Demo
Man, devs must think that we are just incapable of solving puzzles, because so many games just blurt out the solution seconds after coming upon one.
Re: Dragon Age: The Veilguard Is Very 'Mission-Based', Not Unlike Mass Effect
Unfortunate. I was hoping it would go more "open world", but it seems the opposite is true.
Re: Dragon Age: The Veilguard Finally Ventures to PS5 Later This Year, Trailer Gives First Look
Unfortunately I have to agree with a lot of the comments. That art-style, though I don't hate it, I'm just not feeling it for Dragon Age.

That's too bad, hopefully this doesn't lead to layoffs. I actually like their games, especially Elex. But of course, I don't mind "eurojank".

Re: Apparently Some People Hate the New PS5, PS4 Prince of Persia Game
@RBD Can Persians reverse time? Is that "magicwashing" other cultures?
Re: Apparently Some People Hate the New PS5, PS4 Prince of Persia Game
@RBD How? Because any brown skin character must be African? This is the same nonsense I saw on Twitter.

Re: Weapons in Dead Island 2 Will Degrade with Use, But Dev Explains 'We’re Generous with It'
