Re: Soapbox: The Real Problem with Sony's State of Play Livestreams

I'd rather have a bit of info than nowt. My expectations were pretty low going into both this and the nintendo direct. I'm not sure what people expect to be honest. I think software development will be hit pretty hard by remote working for at least the rest of this year and might be 2023 before things catch up. It's hardly essential work is it?! No way God of war drops this year and wouldn't surprise me if horizon gets delayed too.

Re: PS Plus March 2021 PS5, PS4 Games Have Leaked

The situation with versions of games getting upgraded or not is ridiculous! So a digital plus version of ff7r won't but a digital store bought will?? A physical xbox tony hawk won't but you can on a digital for a price?? Never, ever has there been more incentive to be a patient gamer and to buy second hand down the line

Re: Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 Confirmed for PS5

@Hyperluminal yeah I bought for xbox as it did checkerboard 4k at 60fps. To be honest, game looks pretty awesome already. The only thing that might tempt me to switch versions is whether haptic feedback for ps5 is good

Re: We May Learn What the Future Holds for Bethesda Next Month

@Max2574 I'm not sure, microsoft seems to make plenty cash from gaming at present and given Google have effectively given up with stadia, gaming pass ultimate streaming with 5g might be the way to attract larger number of subs. No overhead console price for casual players, tie in with ea for madden and fifa and transition from mobile to big screen gaming. 50 million subs would be around the 6 billion dollars mark annually, seems like it might be sustainable

Re: Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart Is Another £70 / $70 PS5 Game from Sony

The secret answer is wait 18 months and it will either be on plus or 20 note at cex. Sony will be doing the metrics on this but every chance you make less money by charging more and just taking yourself out the impulse purchase price range. Dont underestimate the difference 20-25 quid makes on whether someone throws a game in their trolley at a supermarket.

San andreas remake please!! I'm actually at the stage where I don't know what a gta6 should look like. How do you parody the world today, real life is too nuts! Is an open world driving game with basic cover shooting and movie moment cameos/parodies even viable? My favourite game series of all time but I actually don't know what they should do with modern gta

More forza horizon 4, the top gear/stuntman/exibit races are brilliant! More witcher 2, those who complain about combat in 3 should not play this. I also tried about 30 mins of inside on switch. Already think its great, here was me thinking limbo was dark. But most importantly, revelling in a great result at Twickenham! Absolutely deserved, Scotland very much the better side today 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Re: Mass Effect Legendary Edition Is Quite the Upgrade in Shepard Comparison Shots

I hope to play this down the road but I only played the original for the first time in 2019, including some dlc for all three games. As good as 2 and 3 are (and yes, 3 is good if you have only played the extended cut and citadel dlc ending), 1 is by far my favourite. The end sequences for that game and the dialogue throughout are brilliant and will be worth the ride again.

I've been to see him live years ago, like 2010, when 10,000 folk could be in the same place at the same time, incredibly compelling! Either half the crowd were plants or a significant percentage of the population are susceptible to straightforward psychological manipulation. Wonder which one it is.........

Re: PS Now Competitor Google Stadia Ceases Internal Game Development

R1spam

This thing is dead, Google completely screwed this one up. Every time there is some good news, like there is a free demo for fenyx rising or cyberpunk performing better than base consoles and lower end pc's, it gets lost with news about features not getting delivered or games getting cancelled. If they pack in the buy your game bit and swap it for a gamepass model, they might still have something. Amazon luna with the ubisoft channel might be more of a psnow competitor

Got the platinum trophy in astrobot playroom today and just went and watched my daughter play round in the levels. Amazing game. Played some maneater last night. The combat didn't grab me but swimming underwater with the intent of being a bad ass shark definitely has something too it. Also witcher 2, feel like I've got a big choice to make about which faction I help comin.

Re: PS Plus February 2021 PS5, PS4 Games Announced

What a banging month!! Was going to try control on game pass but after playing alan wake recently I was already interested in the dlc. Now ill wait for Ray tracing too. I can't wait to play destruction allstars either, looks like loads of fun. Played concrete genie, its decent. Art style is great but hdr would have taken it to a new level

Re: Poll: Do You Have a PS5?

R1spam

Under no illusions as to how lucky I am. Got one at launch but put it back to retailer after repeated issues with multiple games and sony support not committing to it being a hardware issue. Got one from currys last week after checking the app before going to work at the absolute right time by sheer fluke. Sorry but think it will be rough all year, 2021 Christmas will be savage, 2022 before it becomes widely available in UK I think.

Re: The Last of Us 2 Surpasses The Witcher 3 as the Most Awarded Game in History

R1spam

Both great games that I've enjoyed, both have their flaws, one of which is story pacing! TLOU2 is too long for what it is and witcher 3 has people shouting at me to go save Ciri now, even though we all now im going to bugger about and build witcher armour. Anyway ill see my way out before this comments section inevitably ends up in flames.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 360

Played some more forza 4 horizon this morning, might be the most fun I have had with a single player racing game since GT 2! Its my first open world driving game and man does this game look great too on series x. loving tearing about in my scooby impreza. "If in doubt, flat out"! Hopefully some more astrobot as well, must be pretty close to the platinum. I can't believe sony gave this away, might be my favourite 3D platformer ever. Have a great weekend people

Re: PS5 Stock Demand Overwhelms Another Online Retailer

I managed to get Currys, got lucky and checked the app at ten to 8 before I got out the car to work. Tried to go back in for my mate 5 mins later and app and website had melted! Feels like scalpers must start to lose out soon in UK. No Christmas to drive urgency, no more exclusives on horizon (pun intended) to drive urgency. Hope they lose out on huge amount of cash!

Re: Game of the Year: #1 - The Last of Us: Part II

R1spam

Clearly devicive for some but its a fantastic game and would be my number 1 this year(though the joy astros playroom brought me in a very tough year makes it close). Couple of narrative threads didn't quite land but compared to the Saturday morning cartoon plots many aaa games has, it still stands out.
@kyleforrester87 pretty much agree with the Netflix show with decent/good 3rd person shooter woven in analogy but its so my thing! Such a sucker for naughty dog and rockstar games for that reason.

Re: Game of the Year: #5 - Astro's Playroom

R1spam

@Dan_ozzzy189 they are in ui when you are on a game and press down on the d-pad (where trophy stuff is on ps4). I think they are great! Hope we get to the stage you only see an initial menu screen in a game once then you can jump in from the cards. They also tell you how long a mission might take, so if you only have 10 mins to play you can judge whether you can finish a quick side quest or not. It will be down to devs how they handle that stuff but potentially great quality of life feature

Re: Random: This Guy Has Five PS5s

Haha quite funny! I was proud owner of one briefly but sent back to very due to constant crashes on ps5 games. Would dearly love to buy another but can't see one anywhere. I have never tried so hard to spend 500 quid in my life!

Re: Ubisoft Shoves XP Boosting Microtransaction into Assassin's Creed Valhalla a Month After Launch

R1spam

A lot of people saying why should you care about mtx's in a single player game that aren't necessarily to enjoy main quests etc. My take, because it affects world design. Instead of building more carefully crafted and curated experiences, ubisoft build giant copy paste worlds to keep players in that environment to increase the chances they buy this crap. Its why ubisoft games ultimately get tarred with the genericly written giant iconathon bulls@#t tag rather than them make something special
