Re: Just 1.3GB of PS5 Data Is on The Outer Worlds 2 Physical Disc

Templedoom

Hi All, - Just playing Devil's Advocate to a few of the Comments regarding re-selling or purchasing used Games - The Down-side here is the the Developers see nothing back on a re-sold Game.
So we end up with a situation where a Group of People have all paid to play a Game, but the Developer has only seen a single Payment. - Yet we all clamour for Better / Bigger Games. - Is this why we get DLC offered, where many claim it should have been part of the Original Release. As most DLC is Digital this at least puts Money Back with the Developer.

Re: Site News: Where's Our MindsEye PS5 Review?

Templedoom

In a similar vein to Callisto Protocol, where the creator seems to take the Job Title to the God Level. - Although you would have thought, that the Striking Distance Studio Experience would act as a Lesson Learnt for all new Releases from fledgling Companies - Obviously not....!

We need to offer constructive criticism on the release, as we require Studios to remain Open and Jobs Secure. -

Nice to see someone offer a Game not part of an IP Franchise or Sequel.

CyberPunk turn-arounds will not happen every day, but CD Keys done a superb job despite the appalling release copies.

Re: PSN Downtime Raises Fresh Questions About PS5's Future Functionality

Templedoom

@GirlVersusGame - Hi, thanks for reply - I did mean Skynet from the Terminator Films, where the Machines Take-over - I realise not a direct reference to the Servers Being shut-down, as with Skynet the AI becomes so advanced it controls everything. - Not sure whether shutting down your PS 4 / 5 / 6 etc would be high on their list of World Domination.

Re: Rocksteady Lining Up New Single Player Batman Game After Suicide Squad Disaster, It's Claimed

Templedoom

Hi All, - What do we want in a New Batman Game ...? - Well, I would love that Wow factor that hit us when Asylum was released and Double Wow Factor when City Landed - How you create that same feeling of hard to put down Game Play and Narrative is a challenge - Who to Voice Batman ..? Not sure - But more Mark Hamill as Joker Please. - With the recent Penguin HBO, then another centre stage Character. - Batman not only the best Comic Book Character, but also a good depth of Villians

Re: Fans Are Buying Fewer Boxed Video Games Than Ever in the US

Templedoom

Hi All, - As I see it, each time a Game has a Digital Sale a small amount is given to the Developer - whereas, once a Physical Copy is Sold, any Resale, no matter how many times, sees No Monetary Return for the Developer. - Yes, I realise a Pre-owned Game may generate Digital Sales via DLC. However, with continual News of Studios Cutting back Workforce or Closing Down, surely every little helps (Sorry Tesco)

Re: The Thing: Remastered Is Out Now on PS5, PS4

Templedoom

@Northern_munkey - Hi Sir, sorry to correct, but John Carpenters The Thing was a remake of The Thing from another World which in turn was based on a 1951 Book. - However, in total agreement, if you are going to watch The Thing, make sure it is the John Carpenter / Kurt Russell Film - One Film that never needed a Remake - When will they learn....?

Re: Subscribers Start Receiving Their Final Copies of PLAY Magazine

Templedoom

@Teldoestofu - Hi there, you were saying you were surprised WH Smith didn't kick you out..? - Well if you look anything like your Avatar I think there-in lays the answer. - Full Credit to any Magazine still able to output in this digital age, gone are the days of a rolled up copy being kicked around the Tea Room

Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Essential Games for April 2024?

Templedoom

A Good Selection, Immortals is the type of game a lot of people have looked at but shied away from, whether due to cost or a Backlog of Games - Now we have a Game as part of our Subscription that we may never have played, let alone owned. We need to encourage Developers to launch New Ideas, rather than follow the Sequel or next years iteration path.
Hopefully, whatever Sony Pays the Developer of Immortal to put his on Essential helps keep the Studio looking into new ideas.

Re: Exclusivity Is the Achilles' Heel of Huge Blockbusters, Says Former PlayStation Exec

Templedoom

Hi All, - The Cost of Risk & Reward Software tends to indicate we are going to see a massive reduction in Original Ideas for A+ Games, as the sequels or known IP's rule the roost. - We are expecting more from our Games, but then baulk at the Higher Cost. - Rather than pay for New DLC, some of wait for a GOTY edition. - So, where do we go - .....? - You can see the Rental Market being put into Place - for example a small fee to rent the 1st few levels for a set time (2 weeks) - if you like, then that Price is deducted from the Final Cost. - I realise a lot of us like the Physical Copy, but if the Trial Rental Fee is low enough, there is no reason you can't then buy the Physical Copy. - As for Exclusivity providing a better experience, I am not a Software Engineer, but if the PS5 Code was then given to Microsoft, how difficult is it for them to make adjustments so it is performs better on their Console - Just an Idea ...?

Re: Colossal PS Store Sale Plunges Thousands of PS5, PS4 Prices

Templedoom

Hi All, I know we all look at e-bay, CEX, Game etc, - But you have to consider that purchasing 2nd-Hand / Used means no of your Cash is going back to the developer - admittingly you may Purchase DLC via the Store - Surely, (Yeah I know Stop calling me Surely..!) if there is a small difference in PS Store Sale over the 2nd-Hand / Used Market then we are better off putting our Money back with the Developer - we all want more games, so we need to assist, those who strive to bring us New Releases.

Re: Sorry Physical Fans! The New Like a Dragon May Be Digital Only on PS5, PS4

Templedoom

Hi All, - Just to play Devil's Advocate - A Physical Copy only puts Money in the Developers Pocket on on its initial Sale - Once sold on they may be recompense from the New Owner if there is DLC available. And Yes some Season Passes are not far from the Retail Game Price, therefore if all Main Copies Sold are Digital, would this reduce the cost of DLC ....?

  • Yes, I love Collectors Editions, but this Merchandise can exist outside of being packaged with the Game

Re: LEGO 2K Drive (PS5) - A Creative All-Ages Kart Racer with Irksome Microtransactions

Templedoom

Hi All, - As far as Microtransactions are concerned, I feel Game Releases should have a Clear Marking on the Game Case as per the advised Age Rating. (something like - we will attempt to fleece you, or Hope you have Deep Pockets if you want to progress or Cough Up, or others will leave you behind -

  • Lego and Microtransactions in the same sentence should never have been allowed - I hope any backlash will be listened to and more importantly acted upon to put things right.

Re: PSA: PS Plus Extra, Premium Games Removed from Service Aren't Yours to Keep Forever

Templedoom

@Leighdegree - Hi Leigh, totally agree, there are a stack of games on the 2x higher tiers that make you think even if I play just a couple of AAA Releases (ie Spiderman & Ghosts of Tsushima) then I have Value for Money. - However, the fear of a partially completed game disappearing from the catalogue tends to make you think - by the time I get round to playing Spiderman or Ghosts of Tsushima I could buy in a Sony Sale or elsewhere for a reduced rate, but it is mine. - plus, if you have played a game that then releases DLC, but the Main Game is no longer in the Catalogue where do you stand ....? - at least if you own a Physical or Digital Copy there is No Problem - At the moment I shall stick with my Basic PS Plus, as I already have a Back-log of decent games to venture into

Re: PS Plus Memberships: All Three Tiers Explained

Templedoom

Hi, Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere, but is there a time limit as to the availability of any particular game, before it is taken away from PS Plus Extra ....? - I already have a back-log but some of the PS5 / PS4 Games listed make it a No-Brainer, some of the top tier Games (even from Used / Exchange Stores) are more than the additional cost of upgrading from Essential to Extra

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 (PS5) - Dark Future RPG Is Finally Ready to Rock

Templedoom

@ShogunRok - Hi, I would encourage re-reviews or should we say updates if an initial release has been slated due to Bugs, Glitches etc. - I often check reviews before purchasing games, but seeing a 2020 review detailing Bugs, Glitches, Crashes etc - I have no way of knowing whether this had been patched. - Or is there a site detailing patches that have been released for Game Titles ....?

Re: Poll: Are You Happy With Your PS Plus Games for February 2022?

Templedoom

No Complaints, the January Selection has re-paid my Year Subscription, so anything now on in is a Bonus - Not forgetting the PS+ extra Discount, Cloud Storage - I would not have purchased Planet Coaster, but then I said the same about Horizon Zero Dawn and since given away Free in Summer have just clocked 100Hrs. - A few more Indie titles would be appreciated, there are no doubt some Hidden Gems waiting to be discovered.

Re: Talking Point: What Do You Realistically Expect from PS5, PS4's Game Pass Inspired PS Plus Reboot?

Templedoom

Is it possible that Triple A Games will now hold back Levels already developed, to be offered as DLC - which re-opens the argument of how long a Game should be - for a Non-Open World
FPS then I am happy to purchase DLC if I have got a good solid 15hrs Gameplay. -

I suppose the Game Pass Format would mean Developers would get Paid for every user of the Game, rather than just the Initial Purchase, where-after Games are passed on to other Users via Trade-in Stores

Re: Talking Point: How Would You Improve PS Plus?

Templedoom

Hi, - When I look at the Yearly Subscription and what I have in return then I am happy with the situation - I get to play a lot of Games I would never have dreamed of buying. - Might not always like them, but there is always the odd gem. - A few more PSVR Games would be nice, but not sure of what the % of PSVR Owners are subscribers to PS Plus.

Re: PS Plus August 2021 PS5, PS4 Games Leaked by Sony

Templedoom

@Col_McCafferty - finally, someone not complaining, who has taken into account the vast amount of quality titles on PS Plus over the past year - Your Subscription Cost has easily been met many times over. - Vampyr - Zombie Army 4 - Uncharted - Bioshock - Battlefied - Days Gone etc - Plus I am stocking up my PS5 Library in anticipation of actually seeing a PS5 - Yes, not every Month is perfect, either Not Interested, already Own, already Played etc - but overall, I have played a lot of Games I would not have given the time and thoroughly enjoyed - Life is Strange, and I always imagined Ratchet & Clank as a Kids Sonic knock-off (How wrong was I ...!)

Re: June 2020 PS Plus Game Is Available to Download Now on PS4

Templedoom

Hi All,- Seems a daft question, but with COD WWII DLC also on offer - are the War Mode Missions Single Player ….?
and are the Zombie Packs Single Player ….?
At the Price on Offer, I do not mind having Multi-player Maps that I will never use, but need to know if some content is Single Player
Thanks - Kevin

Re: Mafia III Story DLC Is Now Free for Everyone

Templedoom

Another Freebie - to add to a game, that had some great set pieces,

  • Railyard and Construction Yard Scenario's are Top Notch -

So a Big Thank You for those Parties responsible to Issuing the
DLC as Free to All - Appreciated

If they listen to feedback from Mafia III the Mafia 4 could be one of the best of its Genre -

Re: Guide: All Free EA Access Games on PS4

Templedoom

Seriously Guys - Do we still want to be putting Money in EA's
Pockets - ….? - No doubt they will introduce microtransactions as time passes - so £3.99 / Month £19.99 / Year will only be the Start of it - Kevin

Re: Talking Point: What Free March 2020 PlayStation Plus Games Do You Want?

Templedoom

I know it is easy to criticise being given games that majority seem to have played - Uncharted Trilogy and Bioshock Trilogy - but think of a New PS4 Owner from Xmas 2019 and you have been given a collection of truly outstanding games, with a compelling narrative -

Last Months PSVR Game was a top title, so would be happy with a Top Title every other Month, rather than a So-So Title every Month.

As for AAA Titles, I would never have purchased Titanfall 2 as do not get on with Big Robot Style Games where the Controls seem more suited to Flight Simulators - But WOW - What a Game - Great Combat, Good Weighty Feel to Powerful Weapons and Top level Designs - Shame about the Wall Running

Re: Talking Point: What Free February 2020 PS Plus Games Are You Hoping For?

Templedoom

Hi All, While I realise the majority have already Played the Uncharted Series, there are a lot of New Users who were given a PS4 by Santa -
So it is difficult to gauge - if a Game is that good, then the majority have already purchased or played -

As for the Gems being prequels to forthcoming releases, I tend to find if I have just played and enjoyed Watch Dogs, then I prefer to play a few differing titles before loading up Watch Dogs 2.

I think Sony should be looking at a range of PSVR Games as giveaways over the coming year, and vary the theme - 1x PSVR every other Month based on a different genre -

That's it - Kevin

Re: PS4 Firmware Update 6.51 Released, But It's Nothing Fancy

Templedoom

@RedMan33 - I have this on a PS4 Pro, but assumed it was because the System was running through the VR Box, as I do not
recall it happening when VR Box By-passed …? - I got fed up with Plugging / Unplugging HDMI Leads and without a suitable 4K UHD Splitter I accepted a toned down display for the VR to be ready as and when required -

Re: Feature: Why You Shouldn't Worry About PS5 Backwards Compatibility

Templedoom

I have such a back catalogue of PS4 Games - Mainly due to PSN
Subscription, that if my PS4 fails while the PS5 is the current Console, it would be nice to be able to wade through the Back Catalogue of PS4 Games on my new PS5

Also, when a new Console is released it is rare to find a Shed Load of Games released at the same time -

Can you Honestly see the VR Games being ditched as Last Gen Console …?

Re: Review: Firewall Zero Hour (PS4)

Templedoom

@get2sammyb - Hi Sammy, I think when People see a Six, they perceive a just above Average Game, where a Seven begins to edge towards a good game - Instead of having to comment - "It was a Good Six" would be better with a % Score, where a Good Six would be 66% or above -

No doubt this has been discussed before, but thought it worth a mention
