I’m using the 40 fps mode and I don’t think the graphics take a hit especially a “noticeable” hit. You said it’s grainy did you make sure to go into options and turn off film grain because you can and I promise the picture is clear and smooth as day after that and not at all blurry
I understand the author is trying to remain positive but this just doesn’t look good it has metacritic score of 60’s written all over it. I do hope Im wrong though and even if I’m not I hope it sells and finds an audience
@awp69 lol right it’s because half of its Ubisoft so it’s automatically crap to the haters and the other half is the chuds who can’t stand the main character and the way she looks so they have hated on it since it’s announcement
@ATaco oh I know I can thanks for the unsolicited advice maybe the perpetually miserable people could use some of that advice so they don’t feel so sad all the time that they get enjoyment out of hating on games and developers they have no knowledge about
@puddinggirl shows you haven’t even done the bare minimum research on the game because you don’t ever get a lightsaber you’re playing a smuggler. Seriously if you’re going to ***** on a game because you’re a terminally online person who doesn’t touch grass at least have a little basic knowledge on the subject you’re going to hate on
@Altaria_97 it’s why review discourse on the internet is absolutely broken and stupid. It’s got a 77 like you said with most of the reviews being between 7 and 9 and quite a few of those reviews are also saying it’s not the typical Ubisoft open world but comments here repeating it’s the same old Ubisoft open world shows they didn’t read ***** . You have trolls or haters rushing to come in just to see the number and rush to the comment section to post the hottest take they can it’s pathetic.
@Kraven I love Wolfenstein but just no with regards to it’s combat being better than the newer UC games lol. It doesn’t control, feel or play as tight or smooth as uncharted and it doesn’t provide nowhere near the options in combat. New colossus especially had mediocre gunplay with rote level design and it was only saved because of how fantastic the story and characters were.
@Almost_Ghostly oh no I should have clarified I didn’t even finish Blair Witch which isn’t even a long game so that should tell you something lol. It was the most boring, blandest game I’ve played in awhile though i will say I liked the dog and the graphics were pretty good
@Titntin nah I was noticing it I just thought it was a built in delay for certain moves or to use the healing flask or powers until I seen someone that watched the DF say to use quality or balanced because of input lag of performance. I’ve been on quality since and after getting used to the ropey frame rate I’m loving the game.
@Tchunga my guy lmao that isn’t even remotely true and now makes it seem like you didn’t even play it. Chapter 2 and 3 are nothing like FF 13 corridors and even saying that is just straight up lying. Go visit the resetera ot where people are loving how much there is to explore and others wishing there was a map because they’re afraid of missing things or getting lost but no you’re right it’s FF 13 like and there’s no exploration or level design smh
I got to wonder how much reviewers like this one missed sidequests and whole hidden areas and bosses because no sidequests aren’t usually completed just down the road. Chapter 2 for example has sidequests that span the whole huge chapter with two leading to whole hidden areas and bosses. There’s so many branching paths in chapter 2 and 3 which I just reached which yes are worth exploring because contrary to what this review will tell you almost always has a new gourd, bosses, soaks, crafting materials, mind cores to improve character stats, new transformations or important items needed to access hidden bosses in either that chapter or previous ones you’ve already completed. It seriously blows my mind how a lot of reviews for this game just straight up have misinformation because they don’t fully engage with the game. I would liken the games world to the new GOW games or old fromsoft souls games when it comes to exploration and unlocking shortcuts that loop back around to previous areas with plenty to explore off the beaten path while keeping it somewhat linear
Doesn’t bother me I get the majority of my points from game purchases or doing the little quests and since I only subscribe a month at a time to premium I was getting only 193 points which is jack all so it is what it is.
I’m there day one and so damn excited. People give Bloober crap all the time but I’ve always had faith in them since I like their games especially Observer which I loved and wish they would do a psvr 2 version of. Blair Witch was the only one I didn’t truly get on with it was just ok but the rest I really enjoyed. I would rank the ones I played in order of 1.Observer 2.The Medium 3. Layers of Fear remake for ps5 and then Blair Witch dead last but Silent Hill 2 remake might take over that number one spot or at least the second spot.
@Yagami maybe because the characters are unique and the game plays extremely well and doesn’t rely on T&A and mediocre gameplay like First descendant . Valorant has great gameplay too but it’s characters aren’t unique anymore than Concords that really is only Overwatchs thing but that find an audience.
@LifeGirl tbh there’s plenty of papers and articles out there that talk about how social media and smartphones have kind of ruined education and made kids not as prepared/knowledgeable. I don’t know if kids aren’t as smart today as when I grew up but it is a field of study that has a lot of interest right now from academics and signs that maybe there is something to that being somewhat truthful
I freaking loved Broken Sword 5 on ps4 it was so beautiful and fun even got the plat so I’m here day one for this even though I’ll be playing like 4 other new releases and won’t be able to start it right away. I hope we get a release date soon for Broken Sword 6 and hopefully they have plans for 2,3 and 4 so we can have the whole series on PlayStation
@Yagami how am I bias im not even getting the game I just checked out the beta is all. The looter shooter genre is way more over saturated it’s not even close like theres Overwatch,Marvel Rivals which is another game that’s going to be big even though it’s gameplay is mediocre as hell just because it has marvel heroes and that’s about all I can think of.
He’s dumb and said it in the dumbest way possible but he’s not I think entirely wrong. Console is very weird and finicky about what is a hit or blows up compared to board games or mobile both which are cheaper to tank failures compared to gaming. To use an example the first descendant is the most painfully generic, average looter shooter I’ve seen in years with a downright terrible world and variety in a super saturated genre that somehow is a hit but Concord which has pretty cool lore and very good to amazing gameplay in a genre that’s not as saturated as the looter shooter couldn’t get no traction. I think that’s maybe what he meant by volatile but maybe that’s too generous a reading lol .
@Tatarimokke yes there’s other enemies to fight and plenty of pretty well hidden areas to find and explore and you can fast travel back to previous shrines in previous areas
@PaperAlien really I don’t think so and that’s what I’m playing on. It’s weird because balanced at least on my tv took the biggest hit and looked like smeary sh*t,quality looked amazing but the frame rate was ropey as hell and performance with vrr runs extremely well and only takes a slight hit to graphics compared to quality which I usually stick with in games but since the difference was negligible to my eyes. I don’t feel like I’m missing out and the responsiveness is more important anyway
Deserved i put in four hours so far and it’s amazing. The reviews that said it was a boss rush like are so off base it makes me question if they played it or even know the meaning of that term because just in chapter 1 alone there’s plenty of optional and pretty well hidden areas to explore and bosses to fight
@DennisReynolds once again this isn’t a remaster it’s a remake did you expect tlou part 1 remake to have an upgrade? We don’t know how much the GOW Valhalla add on cost to make but considering it’s rogue like and reused a lot of assets I would bet not much same with tlou part 2 no return mode and I loved both of those and it was cool they were free and 10. This being rebuilt from the ground up in unreal engine 5 on top of everything they’ve added which I’ve already stated makes it more than worth charging 60 for. You disagree that’s fine but I’m not going to belittle the devs work and say it should be free or 10 dollars and that’s my point I’m not defending a billion dollar corporation which I couldn’t give two ***** about im just willing to pay the price for the devs who went above and beyond instead of doing a lazy remaster that barely changes anything
@KundaliniRising333 what side by side comparisons have you watched because the most recent one showed a massive upgrade. It’s also not just that but new areas to explore and new story scenes ,new animations as well as new contextual animations for each character, new collectibles and interactions,a a whole new soundtrack and the camera going from static to third person. All that and it’s been rebuilt it from the ground up in unreal engine 5
@Recover20 really underselling it lol. It’s expanded the story with new scenes, added new areas to explore and collectibles to collect as well as switching graphics engines, changing the camera to third person, completely new soundtrack, new animations as well as new contextual animations for each character on top of the massively upgraded graphics. Trying to sell it has a few areas/upgraded graphics is ridiculous.
@Monstermash40 they are supposedly making a sequel and people obviously wanted this or Sony wouldn’t have found it to be cost effective to do and if the game didn’t have popularity or a following they wouldn’t be doing a movie adaptation also. The game is still I believe Supermassives best selling title and it reviewed well and continues to grow in popularity with each passing year. Oh and the outplayed and regurgitated I was referring to in my comment was about how every time a remake or remaster is announced there’s someone with the oh so original comment of who is this for lol
@PuppetMaster don’t waste your time most of these people weren’t interested to begin with they just want to come in and take shots at Sony or just be negative and even when you show them the amount of things added or changed they either ignore it and bounce or try to move the goal posts to why this is still bad it’s exhausting lol
@DennisReynolds no black myth cost 60 which what would that matter anyway. Tlou remastered part 2 barely upgraded the graphics and if you didn’t upgrade sold for 50 with nowhere near the amount that’s been added to this. You can keep moving the goal post all you want to try to justify why Sony is “greedy” but in this example they just aren’t. Nintendo released the Mario all star collection which were straight ports with no added content for 60,Capcom released the five hour RE 3 remake for 60,hell TLOU part 1 remake sold for 70 and had upgraded graphics and slightly improved controls so this being 60 with the amount added and changed isn’t some outrageous proposition. Now if you don’t feel like all those changes are worth it cool you can still play the ps4 version or wait for a discount. Oh and once again this isn’t a remaster it’s a remake and do you think it was cheap for them to rebuild this from the ground up in a completely new graphics engine because it wasn’t
@DennisReynolds ok my guy just because one game did it doesn’t mean every game has to do it not to mention this game switches to a completely different graphics engine, added new story scenes and areas to explore, new animations, new contextual animations for each character, new collectibles and interactions,a new soundtrack and a completely new camera. Oh and I like atlas fallen a lot and the update is nice but the new area isn’t fairly sized nvm you do nothing but what amounts to a mini horde mode fight every visit, the opening isn’t new they just took out the talk to three people busy work and I don’t remember anything about improved graphics at all and don’t believe that to be true
You can easily tell who came to sh**post and bounce which could have been solved if the article didn’t frame this story negatively and reported on all the differences
@Intr1n5ic yeah you never see this in the movie collecting scene which I’m part of. Like there’s movies I’ve bought on the same format two or three times just because of a better transfer or new packaging or special features. This is so cool and def the way I’ll be playing the game. I’m using Chinese in Wukong and it’s so good
