@PossibLeigh @Jayslow
Here is one example of the attention to detail.
Yesterday I walked from inside the drab, run-down entrance hallway of an apartment block out into a wide street and the shift in sound environment was incredible. Just to check i walked back into the building. The audio design / sound immersion (dunno the technical term) was spot-on. You get the same experience going into any kind of building. There's so much detail in the game - that's why I give the game a lot of leeway. In my opinion the game as far, far more going for it than what nit-picking gamers are focusing on. They should get a life and enjoy the game for what it is, a damn fine game.
@Papasears I couldn't agree more. Seems some people are getting off nit-picking. There's clearly a 'bash CDPR/cyberpunk 2077' bandwagon. Seems there always has to be a game that becomes the symbol for the frustration of petty small minded, nit-picking gamers and trend-chasing journalists.
@Jayslow Agreed. I'm still having fun with the game long after completion of the main quest and all the side missions apart from the fights and cars - and the damn cat. No way am I getting a cat. As for the lack of perfectly replicating the real world - It's a Bloody Game for Crissake !!!!
Is anyone else watching their HDD capacity on the PS5? Mine's almost topped out already and Outriders will drop at the end of the month. So I doubt I'll be checking out WDL this weekend even thought I've bee following news and reviews of the game online.
so much slo-mo, unnecessary exposition, lots of scenes where a look would have been enough rather than dialogue to express emotion/view/opinion. Awful lighting (to hide cheap SFX & CGI), pretentious arty-farty mis-en-scene, trope /unoriginal character backstory. Choppy 'here's the hero so here's their theme music'. Sure, the first one was pretty tortuous; this one was just longer so not as painful. Lots of illogical scenes: like why was Aquaman wearing a T-shirt when he came out of the water but ripped it off before he dived back in? Why didn't Steppenwolf used the psychic spiders from the onset rather than torture and threaten people first? Where did Lois disappear to when Superman first turned up? So many plot points ripped straight from MCU Infinity Saga I lost count - Ironic since Thanos was the Marvel answer to Darkseid who turned up first when Jack Kirby went over to DC and created the New Gods and Darkseid.
Okay, rant over.
Only in Lockdown would this be remotely interesting.
Then again, having watched Zack Snyder's Justice League, this rendering of a carpet tile has more going for it and doesn't steal four hours of your life you'll never get back.
@PaperAlien Same here. I too was seriously considering pre-ordering at the end of March but seeing this Game Pass mess put me off. Now I'll wait for a hefty price drop People Can Fly can go fly a kite.
Couldn't care less. Playstation has way more than enough games and as the console leader, I can't see developers and publishers leaning exclusivity to Microsoft
@OmegaStriver If their backend system monitor is showing that people are not using perks properly then maybe they need to look at their user interface rather than blame players.
@HotGoomba My thoughts exactly. Crashed then burnt what could have been one helluva game. Hard to believe they of all people could make such a dog's dinner from a guaranteed, sure-fire winner. It's Marvel FFS!
@marnelljm hi. Yes. It took them longer enough to get started thenI actually got bored. Sure, there video looks good but it's just running through corridors shooting aliens. There's only so much variety you can get out of that. Now if they threw in a few clowns and horned shamans in there I might be interested
Talk about dated. This game looked phoned in. Running through corridors shooting dumb aliens. Is that really it? Who would want to pay good money for this crap? Maybe die-hard fans of the Franchise but that's it.
Well now they're just flogging a dead horse. First Crystal Dynamics does a bang up job in ruining a great franchise and now they proceed to stick it to gamers and Marvel fans by giving them even less of an incentive to buy.. Or is this the inspired idea of some marketing suit who thought "I know what, let's get them to panic buy!"
I enjoyed it. I played as a Devastator and had lots of fun getting up close and personal just to get health and survive. Cover is not meant to be a strong point of the game, I was struck by the poor cut-scene graphics but forgot about that when the game took off. Combat is over quick once you get the hang of it and killing the boss second time round happened so fast it took me by surprise. I'm still on the fence about it and will wait to see what reviews of the full game are like.
EA's reliance on tried and tested titles like Dragon Age, like other blockbuster franchises COD, Battlefield etc is why the market makes it so difficult for new and original games to take off. EA were desperate to squeeze Bioware/Anthem into their own 'corporate vision' they killed off any originality and creativity that could have made the game a stand-out AAA game. Forcing them to use EA preferred software, pushing publication above content, under-resourcing development R.I.P Anthem
@Voltan Same here. Although the flaws got me so angry I deleted it from the PS4, cracked the disk in two and threw it across the room - Anthem had great gameplay and tons of potential plot expansions what with all the characters and the possible expansions that were teased in their backstories. If only EA had left Bioware alone and given them the time and resources to get on with it. EA and its corporate 'profit above all else' attitude is the sole and primary root for Anthem's failure
I see you are running adverts for Stockx who seem to be selling scalped PS5's. I know you probably don't have much control over what adverts appear, but perhaps given the current circumstances, you should monitor things more closely. I always set Push Square as a trusted website to help you with the ad revenue. Since you are now supporting scalpers I've I re-enabled Ghostery ad blocker.
Excited? No. Disappointed? Very This should have been the definitive Avengers game. It fell far short, so far in fact it's more of a curate's egg, game than an AAA game. Definitely not worth my time
After hours of checking out specs, build, appearance, dimensions prices, delivery dates and costs I ordered from houseofoak.co.uk. It was nice not to order from tax-evasion, exploitative Amazon, and the customer service people were prompt in taking care of changes and acted with integrity. Yes, I'm plugging them because in these difficult times, struggling local family businesses need all the help they can get.
Destiny 2 looks very crisp and sharp. I can see what people mean when they say the image 'pops' I realised that the Tivo has a standard hdmi cable so I've ordered a hdmi.2.0 cable. I'll let you know what improvement it makes.
@AshM
The TV arrived this morning. I logged into my google account and the TV found and set up my Media apps. Disney +, Now TV, Netflix. so no need to enter passwords etc.
I've been playing Cyberpunk and it's a helluva lot sharper and plays perfectly.
I started the download for Destiny 2 PS5 edition and will let you know what that looks like.
I did have to tweak the display settings for the Tivo but not for the PS5 as that looked great 'out of the box'.
So far so good.
I haven't seen any of the banding people complain about - I think that's more a cause of people wanting an over bright image. The default bright is too bright. I've set the Picture mode to 'Vivid' which deals with the 'washed out' issue and brought the brightness down to 35. Brightness starts at 'Max then goes down in increments of 5.
Looks fantastic.
Having watched a football match on BT sport Ultimate and the west brom v arsenal on regular HD, we've noticed the picture quality actually improved after about 10 minutes. it's pretty impressive.
@Blacksmith1985 Same edition here, pre-ordered. Only game I've been playing since it arrived. Everything about it is brilliant, one crash every 4 to 5 hours is no problem. Far, far more tolerable than the s**tshow that was Anthem, and the disaster that is Avengers
@AshM
I got mine from Johnlewis.com
It's arriving on the 2nd. I'll make a note to feedback my views.
With one millisecond being 1000th of a second, I'm not too bothered about about a lag no normal human will detect.
@AshM I've bitten the bullet and ordered a 49" XH950 (UK name for X950H) as I get a 12.5% discount on an already reduced price. I'm more than happy with 4k-60 and from the pov of optimal viewing experience my room/space can't comfortably handle a 55"+ TV which the Next Gens will be for a good few years.
It's a fantastically well designed game. The world is full and rich and the characters many and varied. The stories and characters are great. CDPR have created a masterpiece that a lot of people are overlooking thanks to the negative experience of people using dated consoles and PCs. I'm having a blast with it on my ps5 and 1080p TV. The game works equally well when I remote play on the PS4 in the other room.
@Papasears I couldn't agree more. . I'm having a blast with it. Using most of my lockdown hours of each day playing the game. Even worked smoothly on the PS4 remote play from the ps5. I have the consoles in separate rooms.
I'm absolutely loving the game. My ps5 is connected to a bog standard 1080p TV. I get a faulty game close about once every five or six hours of continuous play. It's a wonderfullyv richly crafted world on all levels. The main story and side jobs, driven by great dialogue and characters are all 100% cyberpunk. It's a damn fine game.
