@Americansamurai1 Agreed. I immediately thought the same thing. I bet there are kids all over the world who'd love some distraction and a chance to do what kids do.
Eighty quid a year! The whole idea for me was to save the hassle of going down to the pub for a pint and a few games every now and then. But at this price I might as well get my shoes on and order an uber.
@ShogunRok I know, right? It's not as if they could have given him an entire spectrum of customisable boomerangs, , between 2 and 4, each with x number of power slots - say they're a gift from Lex, or nicked from Star labs or something, anything. Maybe even link them to a skill tree. But no, they spend 8 years to-ing and fro-ing between board meetings with developers and accountants on assessing the market, forecasts and margins.
@grubsteak. Yes. I went off and read the reviews and watched the yong yea guys video that went into the hate. Is it fair to compare it to thier Arkham games? It's a different thing, closer to Square's Avengers, that is a closer comparison. From a simply co-op point of view, if done right, then it might be a fair enough game to buy. As for the Live service and micro-transactions, it's looks more like a budget Destinyverse. They could have made more of Boomerangs Boomerangs, give them various powers, rather than copping out and giving him a shotgun. The same with the other characters, show a bit of imagination with their preferred powers/weapons. I'm going to wait a few months after release and see how it pans out.
@KidBoruto I see Skydance is credited at the end of the video - the same people behind the Apple TV series. But the Borderlands type graphics put me off. All I can say is it better be a damn good story
@grubsteak please elaborate. What put you off? It had the opposite affect on me. I had no interest and the trailer got me interested in at least keeping an eye out for more info. One to possibly buy pending post-release reviews and videos. solo story and co-op are my preferences and the game ticked those boxes.
@Tomato_Goose I bought worldslayer after some initial reluctance. IMO it's worth the asking price. Only caveat being online player base has probably dropped. But extended story still a good addition to the original campaign.
Looks good. just ran through some reviews for the PC release. scores balance out at 5-6/10 due to how people feel about dialogue/choice context inconsistencies and bugs. Might be worth keeping an eye out for any news on whether these were addressed or not, unlikely as they might be.
@themightyant Hmm, might wait for the next price drop. Meanwhile looking forward to Lightfall and Phantom Liberty. Those and the bunch of little indie waiting to be finished off should fill up most of the rest of the year.
@Wheatly I learned the other day that The Premier League is a 'company' and when a team is promoted into it, they get a share of the company and lose that share when/if they are relegated. Perhaps this too has some relevance to the ease with which EA made the deal. https://www.premierleague.com/about
@ItsBritneyB_tch I see what you mean. Though in episode 2 of the podcast they explain the logic behind that way of showing it. Have you been listening to the official podcast? It's on Apple, Spotify, and here's the youtube link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYCccmiSSWo
Third episode was the best so far. I particularly like that the show focuses more on the impact on people's lives and relationships rather than fighting off the infected. I found much of episode 3 predictable, and wasn't surprised at the relationship and how the story unfolded. This wasn't a problem at all as the acting and telling of the story was first class.
@arsmolinarc I disagree. Uncharted five can do a "Taken". Have Drakes daughter kidnapped and held to ransom so he and the missus have to go on some heist/adventure to locate and retrieve the McGuffin in order to get her back.
@Bionic-Spencer Agreed. TLOU was grim enough to start with. The way things went with TLOU2, a third TLOU would be one grim and gritty game too far. A fifth Uncharted announced now would be a refreshing boost for ND and us punters. Though it would need a new, more vibrant team of writers to give us an entertaining story, not the same bunch that fell down the dark ditch of TLOU.
It's pretty good. I guessed it would be the little old lady next door. I like the subtle references to twitching. The kid in the classroom with the shiny bracelet, the dodgy soldier. The Podcast now live, listening to it now, refers to lots of little things to look out for.
@NEStalgia
The Writers Room but as chefs
People like ice cream; check

people like burgers, check.
people like potato chips; check
Okay chuck all that into the blender and we have a sure-fire winner.
Meanwhile the designers of the restaurant, (visuals) are geniuses of creativity
Visually the game is stunning and gameplay and controls are fun and fluid.
Pity dialogue is a big dog's fart in a small room.
@NEStalgia
Agreed on Infamous. Bring back Cole.
I played the Forespoken Demo and deleted it because of Frey. Developers confused arrogant, snarky and rude with witty, Independent, bold and assertive.
I know very little about One Piece aside from the fact it's been going for years and has a solid history, but there's something about this I find very appealing. I'll definitely try the demo.
My money is on a Spiderverse. Miles Morales barely scraped through, having so many similarities with the first. I can't see anything other than the Spiderverse ramping things up. Throwing new villains etc into the mix just won't cut it because Spider-man will still be doing the same stuff; swing, thwip, fight, acrobatics, and no matter the settting or villain, that will only be fun and engaging for so long before it gets a bit rinse and repeat after the games we've already had.
I wonder what we'll get third time round. It'll have to be a damn fine game to avoid accusations of 'cash grab' development with more of the same stuff. Only a compelling story will save the game from rinse and repeat. Hopefully they'll bring in some new writing talent to give us something with a bit more character and narrative depth than the bog standard 'Oh, didn't expect that' budget story devices of TLOU2
@trev666 Hi. I had a great time with Mass Effect 2 but Damned if I'm going to start grinding and mining again. That ruined my time on the game. If I didn't have a life to be getting on with maybe I would have enjoyed it more.
I highly enjoyed ME2 except for one thing, the endless searching and mining for stuff for improvements. That killed the game for me and put me off the franchise completely
"very, very early" stages. Meaning a couple of developers overheard at a bar. "What about this Deus Ex thing?" "Fair point. The last one went down fairly well." "Worth cashing in?" "Might as well give it a go, see how we get on." "This guy with you?" Who?.. Hey, you're that hack from Forbes. Piss off."
This bloody well better be "Resistance," with our old friend Nathan Hale. The first one was a masterpiece. Anything else they can shove up their beloved backsides.

Ah, yes. Spider-Man 2 and Wolverine. Plus there's Skydance's Captan America & Black Panther game somewhere down the line.

Ah, okay. I enjoyed the game a lot. it was a nice break from, and more colourful fun than, the pomposity and endless grind of Destiny 2.
Re: PS Store Sale Discounts 1,000+ Pieces of DLC, Expansions, Season Passes
@Tomato_Goose
I wouldn't say better, but different enough to make it interesting with . I completed it a while back and carried on with the co-op for a good few months with the new area, gear, skill tree. Lots of stuff. google worldslayer reviews. In fact there might be something here in Pushsquare about what's included...
Yep, found this for you: https://www.pushsquare.com/news/2022/04/outriders-worldslayer-expands-the-looter-shooter-in-june-paid-upgrade-on-ps5-ps4
