Re: The Response to Rocksteady's Suicide Squad Has Been Abysmal

nathanSF

@ShogunRok I know, right? It's not as if they could have given him an entire spectrum of customisable boomerangs, , between 2 and 4, each with x number of power slots - say they're a gift from Lex, or nicked from Star labs or something, anything. Maybe even link them to a skill tree. But no, they spend 8 years to-ing and fro-ing between board meetings with developers and accountants on assessing the market, forecasts and margins.

Re: Reaction: Sony Continues to Fumble the State of Play Format

nathanSF

@grubsteak. Yes. I went off and read the reviews and watched the yong yea guys video that went into the hate. Is it fair to compare it to thier Arkham games? It's a different thing, closer to Square's Avengers, that is a closer comparison. From a simply co-op point of view, if done right, then it might be a fair enough game to buy. As for the Live service and micro-transactions, it's looks more like a budget Destinyverse. They could have made more of Boomerangs Boomerangs, give them various powers, rather than copping out and giving him a shotgun. The same with the other characters, show a bit of imagination with their preferred powers/weapons. I'm going to wait a few months after release and see how it pans out.

@grubsteak
please elaborate.
What put you off?
It had the opposite affect on me. I had no interest and the trailer got me interested in at least keeping an eye out for more info. One to possibly buy pending post-release reviews and videos.
solo story and co-op are my preferences and the game ticked those boxes.

@Tomato_Goose
I wouldn't say better, but different enough to make it interesting with . I completed it a while back and carried on with the co-op for a good few months with the new area, gear, skill tree. Lots of stuff. google worldslayer reviews. In fact there might be something here in Pushsquare about what's included...
Yep, found this for you: https://www.pushsquare.com/news/2022/04/outriders-worldslayer-expands-the-looter-shooter-in-june-paid-upgrade-on-ps5-ps4

Re: Cyberpunk CRPG Gamedec Logs Imminent PS5 Release

nathanSF

Looks good. just ran through some reviews for the PC release. scores balance out at 5-6/10 due to how people feel about dialogue/choice context inconsistencies and bugs. Might be worth keeping an eye out for any news on whether these were addressed or not, unlikely as they might be.

Re: TV Show Review: The Last Of Us (HBO) Episode 3 - Television At Its Finest

nathanSF

Third episode was the best so far. I particularly like that the show focuses more on the impact on people's lives and relationships rather than fighting off the infected. I found much of episode 3 predictable, and wasn't surprised at the relationship and how the story unfolded. This wasn't a problem at all as the acting and telling of the story was first class.

Re: Naughty Dog May Move On from The Last of Us Like It Did with Uncharted

nathanSF

@Bionic-Spencer Agreed. TLOU was grim enough to start with. The way things went with TLOU2, a third TLOU would be one grim and gritty game too far. A fifth Uncharted announced now would be a refreshing boost for ND and us punters. Though it would need a new, more vibrant team of writers to give us an entertaining story, not the same bunch that fell down the dark ditch of TLOU.

Okay chuck all that into the blender and we have a sure-fire winner.

Meanwhile the designers of the restaurant, (visuals) are geniuses of creativity
Visually the game is stunning and gameplay and controls are fun and fluid.
Pity dialogue is a big dog's fart in a small room.

Re: Marvel's Spider-Man 2 PS5 Will Officially Release Fall 2023, Sony Confirms

nathanSF

My money is on a Spiderverse. Miles Morales barely scraped through, having so many similarities with the first.
I can't see anything other than the Spiderverse ramping things up.
Throwing new villains etc into the mix just won't cut it because Spider-man will still be doing the same stuff; swing, thwip, fight, acrobatics, and no matter the settting or villain, that will only be fun and engaging for so long before it gets a bit rinse and repeat after the games we've already had.

Re: Rumour: The Last of Us 3 Is In Development at Naughty Dog

nathanSF

I wonder what we'll get third time round. It'll have to be a damn fine game to avoid accusations of 'cash grab' development with more of the same stuff. Only a compelling story will save the game from rinse and repeat. Hopefully they'll bring in some new writing talent to give us something with a bit more character and narrative depth than the bog standard 'Oh, didn't expect that' budget story devices of TLOU2

Re: A New Deus Ex Game Is Reportedly Very Early in Development

nathanSF

"very, very early" stages. Meaning a couple of developers overheard at a bar.
"What about this Deus Ex thing?"
"Fair point. The last one went down fairly well."
"Worth cashing in?"
"Might as well give it a go, see how we get on."
"This guy with you?"
Who?.. Hey, you're that hack from Forbes. Piss off."
