It annoyed me to no end last year that Sekiro released a few weeks after DMC5 and got heaped with praise and hype. DMC5 on the other hand was superior in every way in my view. A truly underrated masterpiece of a game.
@JayShaw I totally forgot about Rival Schools. I used to play Project Justice on Dreamcast for days straight. Definitely a franchise in need of reviving!
@Sekys Yes. When I posted the comment they hadn't yet had articles. Particularly disappointing/ironic since Eurogamer prides itself on it's "morality".
Read article - This is outrageous, how could Sony be so stupid again. Plays Video - Barely hear anything, turn sound to max , hears something. If I have to play the video at full blast to hear the noise it really can't be that bad.
@mechayakuza Big companies and rich people can be victims too. It doesn't matter what background someone has, a crime is a crime. So yes, I'm sympathetic to the employees of Capcom who are the victims of a crime that this website is validating. Not all websites are sharing the information, Eurogamer, Kotaku, Polygon have no mention of it... So yes. It seems I have empathy, a dying trait these days.
@ShogunRok Sorry to be "that guy" but do you not have an issue with essentially replicating stolen information on the site? The only difference between this and the employee bank details is the relevance of news. This isn't some disgruntled employee posting on Twitter but a full on large scale act of company theft. Which is now being shared here (complete with screenshots I might add). I am the only one with a conscious who finds this to not be ok and in very bad taste?
@mechayakuza well I'm not a US citizen but a UK one and our libel laws work very differently. Information illegally obtained in the EU can not be widely shared unless there's a specific clause for public interest/benefit. This may fly in the US but I wouldn't be surprised if Push Square get a cease and desist letter at some point
@mechayakuza Complicit or not, the information was stolen and private property and is now being reproduced without the original owners permission. That's not ok, US law or otherwise. "Legal" or not it's a scummy thing to do.
Its a tricky one this for journalism. Yes it's been published online and so the information is now "out there". However publishing the information here as well makes you "complicit" in the theft of the information in a rather uncomfortable way. I know if you don't report it, others will and it's a tricky situation, but I'm not particularly keen on how the media in general are handling the situation.
Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes!!!!!! Best piece of gaming news in ages. I feared the licence had died in lawyer hell after Activision let it go... The last few bond games haven't been great but I just can't help playing them regardless. With IO making it, this could genuinely be the best bond game since Goldeneye!
I mean, even I'm not buying at launch as I simply can't afford it after the events of this year. To compare the launch sales of the new consoles to older ones isn't fair when we take into account what's happened.
@LiamCroft Sorry to reply so late. I've just got and finished the game, and unfortunately your review is spot on. It's sadly just a bit crap all round. The puzzles are tied to boring encounters and it really does feel like a bit of a chore to play. Soma was a tad overrated in my view but I loved Dark Descent. I wouldn't give it a 4/10 but I'm not far off with a 5/10. Just thought I'd reply as I was a tad sceptical in my comments earlier in which I was totally wrong.
If this is at bad as it gets for the PS5 at launch that's not bad going. I reckon with the pandemic a lot more gremlins would have squeaked by quality control as opposed to usual. If it's one that's patchable and not terminal like this, and it's the only one. That's still pretty good going.
It's looking like the PS5 is a very very close second, but apart from the SSD it does look like the Xbox has the edge at launch hardware wise. A couple of games would be circumstance, but this is a definite trend of late where the Xbox just had a slight edge. Thankfully for fans of both consoles it's negligible.
This is absolutely baloney! All the pre console talk of less space for games as they're optimised was utter nonsense. We essentially have just over half a TB, slightly more than the PS4 launch but with greatly inflated game install sizes to go with it... Not sure if it's Take Two or Sony to blame for this but this is not good enough.
This seems like a cynical move to avoid the potential future use of streaming Xbox games via a PlayStation browser. Microsoft are planning to circumnavigate the apple ban by having it streaming from the web, so I think Sony are stopping that by removing the internet altogether. Seems a heavy handed decision if you ask me. To think my PS3 could surf the web, play CD's and everything...
For those questioning the use of the web app, even on PS4 it was very handy for certain games to have a map of missing collectables open on the web app and switch back and forth to cross off the last few items.
That's very impressive. Microsoft have let Halo slip and look to have a real first year drought. Sony really looks ready to capitalise on this I have to say. Even without Horizon, the others like R&C and GT still make a very good reading.
One does get the feeling this wouldn't be the case if the Xbox had sold more than the PS4. Come on Sony... I don't want to bring out the "arrogant" word too early but this is pretty poor at the least.
One of my favourite PS4 games. I get why people didn't love it universally, but for me all the "issues" are actually strengths. Trico being stubborn feels real, the gameplay felt more akin to Ico than SOTC which was a nice surprise, and it was just an absolute joy to experience start to finish. Was sad to see Sony let Ueda leave, their games have been one of the core reasons I'm a PS fan.
For me the American western focus was shown clearly during the PS4 time. The move to the more cinematic action game is all ok, but I do miss the more diverse range of games Sony put out for the PS2 for example. I just don't want to see a homogenised action template for most of the PS5 exclusives, as this is what sells most in the west.
@TheFrenchiestFry Thanks for the clarification. Comment ammended. My original point stands with the Sony link to Ninja Theory well before Microsoft. I remember really enjoying heavenly sword at the time too. "HIT THE WEAK SPOT FOR MASSIVE DAMAGE"
@TheFrenchiestFry Exactly. The idea that Microsoft swooped in and bought Ninja Theory under the nose of Sony is such a ludicrous concept. Sony essentially kept the engine Ninja Theory built for Heavenly Sword, essentially screwing the company over. Of course they signed with Microsoft...
This is alarming. A quick look at WWE shows that 2K have form for ruining franchises and moving development studios around. F1 is brilliant with Codemasters but even more so their Dirt Rally Games... Also, Codemasters is such an inherently British game studio I have doubts about it being successfully managed by an American company... Hope it's not true....
Sounds pretty much what I was hoping for. DLC included, updated Autolog for modern consoles. I didn't really expect more after the Burnout Paradise remaster.
My favourite Need for Speed game and timely release with Criterion doing the next NFS as well.
@Quintumply What's the soundtrack like? Did all the tracks from the original release make it over?
Wow. I thought games in the new gen would take up less space after all the noise we were hearing a few months ago. That's awful then... If the PS5 has 650GB of usable space that's not good at all if install sizes aren't shrinking... I mean bloody hell, the PS5 is physically massive so why the miniscule harddrive?!?! Oh yes, because we're being charged an arm and a leg to make up for the launch cost by having to buy external harddrive space and paying £70 a flipping game.
This review is fair. The first episode is almost worth the price of admission alone.
The next two I had fun with, and would recommend to fans of Observation but the puzzles are similar to the ones in that game. (I don't know Morse code either but the manual in that episode does have the answer there so there's no need to google)
The last episode is a real waste I agree too... But the first episode is one of my favourite horror gaming moments.
"Hard to imagine". I find it "hard to imagine" Microsoft spending $7 billion and then giving the games to its main competition. If Sony suddenly bought GTA I wouldn't expect it to ship on Xbox...
This will go into my sale list.
Don't fancy spending £70 to hit a difficulty brick wall.
I almost find difficult games more palatable if they're not so pricey. I bought Sekiro on release and when a game costs more I almost feel like the game I've paid for is locked out. It's a ludicrous thought of mine I know, but I end up playing the game to get "value for my money" rather than relaxing and absorbing the difficulty. Probably why l adored Nioh so much when I got it for £10.
I also don't want to break my shiny new PS5 controller so soon after launch 😂
Saw the article pic and got my hopes up for an Ezio Series. Read the article with hopes dashed and realised we're still waiting for the animated Assassin's Creed Netflix series anyway... And DMC...
@Flurpsel There are no unskippable cutscenes in this game but the checkpointing is harsh. It's not so much the placement but that the world essentially "resets" upon every death. As much as the niggles in the game annoy me I do think it's worth a play still... I don't see why it's so highly rated but there's fun to be had with it nevertheless.
This is well worth a play. The first story alone is one of the best pieces of horror gaming I've ever played. If anyone ever enjoyed the old text parser games of yore this is a must play.
@Rustydog83 It's not whining it's a valid criticism. It annoys me to no end that things in other games that are seen as bad development are seen as part of the "challenge" of Sekiro. Clearing out enemies before bosses everytime is akin to unskippable cutscenes. It's not necessary. I know it works because of the way you respawn when you die back at the checkpoint with a world reset... It just comes across as an articial challenge. Rather than focusing on the enemy that is kicking my ass, I have to plow through the grunts again and again and again... That's just not fun. The dying and learning process from the game is very fun, the grind not so much. Just my opinion is all.
@doctommaso In open spaces it's fine. As soon as it's in any enclosed space it just delocks from the enemy and bounces around/off the walls. As opposed to Nioh where the camera goes through the walls translucently. Sometimes it was easier to play without locking on as the camera would get me killed just as quickly as the enemies. For a difficult game, minor issues that are normally ignorable are unfortunately intensified.
@ztpayne7 It's the main drawback in the game for me. I am happy to try again and again on tough bosses, but the grunt killing etc... Feels like padding and just a frustration the game could do without. Sekiro is a game I wanted to enjoy a lot more than I actually did.
Still hoping for a camera fix and reduced load times, along with not having to clear out boss arenas every time after dying. For every wondrous moment with the giant snake, divine dragon there's other moments where all fun was sucked dry like the camera issues in the well fight and having to clear out the same enemies every time just to die on the boss. Make a hard game by all means, but i want to spent my time attempting the boss, not killing grunt for the umpteenth time.
I'll need to play this and see. Push Square gave Observer an equally low score and I found that to be an 8/10 enjoyable horror game so it's very much a personal opinion with these games... This is the lowest score on the game by far... Not discounting Liam's opinion but it's just that, an opinion. I've seen enough about the game to want to give it a go regardless. Hopefully I'll enjoy it more than the reviewer.
Thankfully as a multi platform owner I tend to buy games depending on the sales. Much as this sucks for the dev here, there are other games that were on sale on PS I bought over switch and Xbox. So it all evens out over time I'd say. The PS store does have very good sales over time, I don't think Sony are really doing anything wrong here and this is just a one off case
@naruball please expand how Elder Scrolls is an established PS franchise?!?! It had the first two games in PC, Morrowind was Xbox and PC, Oblivion was PC and Xbox with the PS having an inferior port much later. Skyrim was fair and square a universal launch all round. That said, Skyrim is not the only game in the franchise and so Elder Scrolls is most definitely not a PS franchise. It most definitely has closer links to Xbox than PS.
@RayNick I was thinking of both Metal Gear and Devil May Cry as counter examples. Ones where they started on PlayStation but Xbox lost out, especially with MGS 4 being to this day only available on the PS3. It cuts both ways. It's always sucky when it happens as it ultimately limits the audience of very good games, but in my view not unprecedented and fair
For those complaining about losing access to franchises that have previously been on PlayStation bear this in mind: Elder Scrolls. Started on PC, Morrowind was Xbox only and Oblivion was Xbox first before PS Fallout: First two on PC Wolfenstein: Originally PC, Return to castle Wolfenstein best port was Xbox Doom: 1-2 on PC, 3 was Xbox only. These franchises have all been PC focused with Xbox having significantly better support historically over PlayStation. And if anyone here has played Fallout 3+New Vegas on PS3 compared to 360 you also know they've been inferior on PlayStation too. It's ok to be annoyed at these franchises absence on PS moving forward, but to suggest that as PlayStation gamers you're entitled to them is absolutely ridiculous of the highest order showing a lack of gaming history knowledge.
Shame he took the cellophane off... If I got a brand new PS5 the last game I'd want to start with would be Godfall... I wonder what other company they sub-contracted the development of this game too...
If the PS5 is quieter than my PS4 Pro I'll use it a lot to play games that were not so fun on my pro. I'll replay God of War and Death Stranding for starters.
I mean....it's a Paul Anderson film (and not the good Magnolia one). What were people expecting? This had straight to DVD trash the second his name was attached to the project. The American equivalent of Uwe Boll.
Superb. This was a strange one considering the game only launched a few months ago. An absolutely superb motorbike racer. I personally rate it above Moto GP and Ride. It's that good. Highly recommend giving it a go to anyone curious. The handling compared to the first is completely redone to the point where they're world's apart.
If this is anything like Arc's previous games I expect the starting roster to be very good and varied. However, the season pass characters take it a little too far in their previous games. They could definitely add a few more at launch. It's something I've learned to live with in Arc games lately.

Shame he took the cellophane off... If I got a brand new PS5 the last game I'd want to start with would be Godfall... I wonder what other company they sub-contracted the development of this game too...
Re: Poll: How Often Will You Use PS5 Backwards Compatibility?
If the PS5 is quieter than my PS4 Pro I'll use it a lot to play games that were not so fun on my pro. I'll replay God of War and Death Stranding for starters.
Re: Monster Hunter Movie Trailer May Bemuse Franchise Fans
I mean....it's a Paul Anderson film (and not the good Magnolia one). What were people expecting? This had straight to DVD trash the second his name was attached to the project. The American equivalent of Uwe Boll.
Re: TT Isle of Man 2 Will Receive PS5 Backwards Compatibility Update

An absolutely superb motorbike racer. I personally rate it above Moto GP and Ride. It's that good. Highly recommend giving it a go to anyone curious. The handling compared to the first is completely redone to the point where they're world's apart.
Re: Guilty Gear Strive Will Have 15 Characters at Launch, Giovanna Revealed
If this is anything like Arc's previous games I expect the starting roster to be very good and varied. However, the season pass characters take it a little too far in their previous games. They could definitely add a few more at launch. It's something I've learned to live with in Arc games lately.
