Re: PS5 Players Don't Want to See 60fps Die Out

pip_muzz

@UltimateOtaku91 60FPS has always been a thing. I remember back on the N64 for F Zero X where they made the choice to sacrifice graphical fidelity for the smoother crisper frame rate. 60FPS has been a thing for gamers for decades now.

Re: Nioh Franchise Ships More Than 7 Million Units Worldwide

pip_muzz

Absolutely love the Nioh series. Must play games the pair of them. I personally prefer them to Soulsbourne. The camera is a lot better in the Nioh games, and the load times are significantly shorter (at least comparatively on PS4). Both of which make for an equally punishing but much more enjoyable playing experience.

Re: New Tales From The Borderlands (PS5) - No Tale, Too Much Borderlands

pip_muzz

The review could be better. Seems this review is trying hard to be as funny as the game is.
3/10 is so low it makes me want to play it. I consider the first Tales of the Borderlands to probably be Telltale's best Story based game so this should be up my alley. I mean, at least it's a new story (however bad it may be) and I'd rather have a crappy sequel than a remake/remaster of the original Tales of the Borderlands in all fairness.

Re: Silent Hill 2 Remake Announced, Will Be Console Exclusive on PS5

pip_muzz

@UltimateOtaku91 @Would_you_kindly I mean it's a 12 month exclusive, not full console exclusive. It just seems like a waste of money. It was a waste with Xbox hoarding Scorn for 12ish months and it's a waste here. Hardcore fans will play on PS5 and PC. Xbox only users just wait a year...I don't see any upside to these pointless deals. (I include MS and Scorn in my point to show fairness)

Re: Marvel's Spider-Man 2 'Making Good Progress', Still on Track for 2023

pip_muzz

Insomniac. Possibly the best developer of video games out there. The fact they're so productive with every game being such a high quality is insane.
Cannot wait for this one.
Side note, I wouldn't be surprised if this isn't PS5 only after all based upon the recent comments of not leaving PS4 behind by Mr Ryan, but I'm sure this game will be amazing regardless.

Re: The Outer Worlds Is Totally Coming to PS5, Even if Its Sequel Won't

pip_muzz

It's funny the day after this site had to debunk the quite ridiculous Sony delayed showcase rumours, people here have their tin hats on again for this game since Obsidian is now owned by Microsoft. Can't you give it a rest, a good game is getting a PS5 version. It must be very tiring viewing the world through console fanboy lenses.

Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Extra, Premium Games for October 2022?

pip_muzz

It's truly a sorry state of affairs when Nintendo of all companies seem to offer a better "top tier" service than Sony. The Switch Online Expansion was rightfully ridiculed, but at least it was a one off small yearly payment, so the drip feeding of classic games softens the sting.
Sony should bite the bullet, stop charging monthly for Premium (and I can't believe I'm saying this about an online service) and copy Nintendo by making Premium a one off £30ish payment. Then the poor showing of games has a lesser effect as the wallet doesn't take as much of a hit.
Or you know, they could do what they advertised they were going to do and release lots of classic games. One or the other

Re: Hardcore PlayStation Fans Seem Dead Against a Horizon Zero Dawn Remake or Remaster

pip_muzz

I'd argue it's not just hardcore Playstation Fans that have an issue, but the more vested gamers in general.
EA dead space remake has been rightly called out for launching at £70, but I can't help but feel Last of Us Part 1 PS5 and it's sales have played a part in that.
If Sony remaster all their recent games, charge £70 for them and they sell well, that behaviour will spread to others (and it already is to some degree).
I feel that Sony today is only interested in people with high disposable income who are willing to pay for the same experience over and over because "it's that game from the TV I've been watching"

Re: Talking Point: We Need to Discuss This Horizon Zero Dawn PS5 Remaster

pip_muzz

The sad news is, this isn't the last PS4-PS5 remaster you'll see. I expect God of War 2018 will get the same treatment, I wouldn't even be surprised if Shadow of the Colossus is released once again as well.
Sony under Jim Ryan are sadly creatively moribund.
If we want actual, real change then games like Last of Us Part 1 can't sell as well as they do. Ryan is a businessman before a gamer, and he's always going to chase the money. Only by the money going away is he going to change course.

Re: Dead Space PS5 Remake Will Be One Shot Like God of War

pip_muzz

I am probably one of the few people who think God of War 2018 could have done with a "behind you" view button. Yes, it would have broken the admittedly very impressive single shot atmosphere, but the flashing circle around Kratos felt like a sticking plaster to me the whole game.
Dead Space makes much more sense due to the corridor environments but again, I don't want the single shot atmosphere to impact the gameplay.

Re: Best PS4 Games

pip_muzz

@ShogunRok @themightyant @Beerheadgamer82 so long as well all agree that Nioh deserves to be on this list then I'll go to bed happy tonight 👍

Re: Best PS4 Games

pip_muzz

Oh look. Nioh 1+2 are both missing from the list and God of War 2018 is the winner. Exactly what I said would happen when the ratings opened up. How boringly predictable people can be.

Re: Rumour: PS5 Redesign to Include Detachable Disc Drive

pip_muzz

I think this is essentially going to mask the price increase. The PS5 digital model will retail for the Disc Drive version. That one will be faded out alongside a new "detachable" disc drive version which Sony will be able to market at their new higher price for the console.

Re: Silent Hill 2 Remake Pitch Images Leak, May Be a Timed PlayStation Exclusive

pip_muzz

@tameshiyaku it's because RE4 is essentially the basis of all modern third person shooter game design that it's as unnecessary as the Last of Us remake is.
At least with RE2 remake, they transposed the old survival horror mechanics to modern design, but RE4 plays like every game out today already. Hence totally unnecessary.
Shinier graphics don't make a better game.
I'd much rather we have Kojima's Silent Hills and look forward with gaming/franchises rather than always looking into the past.
