Re: Silent Hill 2 Remake Pitch Images Leak, May Be a Timed PlayStation Exclusive

pip_muzz

@BoldAndBrash The original Silent Hill 2 is available for PS2, PS3, Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X and PC.
It is currently available for a large variety of consoles (admittedly mostly with the poor port from the HD collection but still)
If this was a re-release of the original classic game I'd be all for it. I agree, it isn't just one of the best horror games of all time, but one of the very best video games of all time. One of the first and best examples as Games as Art even.
It doesn't need to be remade. It just needs re-releasing. There is a very large difference between the two.

Re: The Last of Us: Part I (PS5) - A Better, More Beautiful Remake of a Modern Classic

@UltimateOtaku91 because pre-order bonuses are an addition not found in all versions of the game, DLC isn't available at launch and is genuinely reviewed separately when released. As for cover art, games are digital these days as much as physical.
It's clear you're grasping as straws simply because you don't like the fact that this game didn't get 10/10 due to the pricing.
All reviews are entirely subjective by the way. If you don't want to hear someone else's opinion on a game, don't read their review.

Re: Japanese Gamers Aren't Impressed with PS5's Price Hike

pip_muzz

@Rob_230 this 100%. I totally believe that all this negativity can actually bring around a positive change and put Sony back as the innovative and great company they once were.
I find it funny that when the "for the players" slogan was first created, that's exactly what Sony were! How times change.

Re: Japanese Gamers Aren't Impressed with PS5's Price Hike

pip_muzz

Considering Sony gave up on Japan a few years ago, sadly the feeling is mutual.
Maybe I'll wake up tomorrow, PS headquarters are back in Japan where they should be, they make multiple genres of games and put the gamer front and center like they used to rather than this insufferable elitist attitude they seem to have developed of late.

Re: Best Adventure Games on PS5

pip_muzz

This just reads like a list of best PlayStation games?!
I realise the term "adventure game" has been expanded over the years but the roots of the genre are in the old point and click games with emphasis on a puzzle solving alongside an immersive story.
Resident Evil Village as an adventure game? Why not go all out and include God of War?
A strange list indeed.

Re: Video: Top 10 PS5 Platinums for Beginners

pip_muzz

The fact that people see obtaining a "platinum trophy" as akin to beating a game is so strange. Especially with how little you have to do to even achieve them nowadays.
Take Spider-Man. You don't even need to get Ultimate on all the Taskmaster challenges or complete the game on the hardest difficulty. How is getting the platinum for that game "100%"ing the game?!?!
Some people just play for the "ding"

Re: Sony Expands PlayStation Homepage for PC Games

pip_muzz

I mean, why not. Of all the things to criticise Sony for lately, porting their games to PC isn't one of them.
A very sensible decision which only increases fan engagement and sales alike.
The best idea they've come up with in the last 5 years.

Re: Sony Coy on Potential PS5 Price Increase

pip_muzz

Here's the hard fact. If Last of Us Past 1 retails for £70, then they'll use the justification that a ground up new game can then be sold for £80+!
I'm calling it now that next gen only games like Wolverine and whatnot that don't have a PS4 version will soon be priced at +£80.

Re: Rumour: Star Wars: KOTOR Remake Hit with Huge Delay

pip_muzz

Aspyr launched the switch port of KOTOR2 with a literal game breaking bug that made it impossible to complete. This game had bad news since they were confirmed as the developer. Don't forget this is their first ever game that isn't a port either....

Re: Poll: Is The Last of Us: Part 1 Really a 'Cash Grab'?

pip_muzz

The price is the reason it's a cash grab. It's the same opportunism that perpetuates through FIFA Ultimate Team and mobile gaming. Charge way above what's necessary knowing a select few will pay the price no matter what you end up charging.
Regardless of the work that's gone into the game, they are asking for the same fee as Horizon Forbidden West and God of War Ragnarok. Two brand new games built from scratch.
I'm not saying this remaster is worthless but any sense of perspective at all shows that this is a really dodgy practice on this release.

Re: The Last of Us PS5 Remake Is Meticulously Built and Crafted, Not a Cash Grab

pip_muzz

I can't help but think back to the Ratchet and Clank remake for PS4 back in 2016. A game built from the ground up as a remake, not just new visuals but all new gameplay as well! Sony back then released this game as a budget title with a lower price point than their other new games.
Sony has since then, sadly, changed. The LoU Part 1 is most definitely a cash grab. Sony's past positive actions prove why.

Re: GTA 6 Needs to Exceed Players' Expectations, Rockstar Admits

pip_muzz

Rockstar have shown themselves to not be the developers they once were. I sadly have very low expectations of this game if it eventually ever does appear. With Red Dead Online being shut down and the total lack of support for single player games from their end I expect it to be GTA Online 2 in all but name.

Re: Sony Removing Some Purchased Films, Movies from Users' Accounts

pip_muzz

Considering how litigious Germany and Austria are, this won't go down well there at all.
I understand Sony can no longer allow customers to stream/download the affected films due to the changing licensing agreements, but that said the absolute bare minimum is a refund for the people who have actually purchased these films themselves.
This one isn't going away anytime soon.

Re: Gaming Spend Will Continue to Decline in US as Living Costs Increase, Says NPD Report

pip_muzz

First of all, $70 isn't £70. So for all you lucky Americans getting games on the cheap, us Brits are essentially bearing the brunt of Sony's massive price hike.
It's true, I definitely spend more of my gaming money on game sales and significantly less day 1 purchases than usual. The cost of living crisis isn't going anywhere and this is something gaming companies are going to have to think very hardly about. I need to pay my electricity bill before I can game for example...
