@BoldAndBrash ummm RE4 remake sucks as well! As does the Dead Space remake, Last of Us 1 remake and almost every remake in memory.
As you've said yourself, the fact you limit your gaming to PS4/PS5 only is your problem.
@Uncharted2007 rather than a remake of Dino Crisis, we could simply have a new entry in the series. Not everything has to be remade. I'd absolutely love a new Dino Crisis too. Imagine if we got a remake of the original Devil May Cry instead of Devil May Cry 5. For every game remade, a potential new classic is lost.
@BoldAndBrash The original Silent Hill 2 is available for PS2, PS3, Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X and PC. It is currently available for a large variety of consoles (admittedly mostly with the poor port from the HD collection but still) If this was a re-release of the original classic game I'd be all for it. I agree, it isn't just one of the best horror games of all time, but one of the very best video games of all time. One of the first and best examples as Games as Art even. It doesn't need to be remade. It just needs re-releasing. There is a very large difference between the two.
@StylesT the saddest thing about the timed exclusivity, isn't that it keeps it off Xbox for a year, but rather Sony would have paid money for the exclusivity whilst at the same time raising their console prices and complaining about affordability. The console wars are costing us players more.
I can't be the only one sick of all these remakes? An absolute YES to more silent hill but a definite NO to unimaginative risk-averse remakes around every corner.
The addition of games on PS Extra is genuinely very impressive. Month after month of games like that and Sony have a very decent service on their hands.
Well Sony is so hard strapped for cash these days they have to save money somehow. Why else did the PS5 price go up and this game retail for £70. They need to save money 😅
@UltimateOtaku91 because pre-order bonuses are an addition not found in all versions of the game, DLC isn't available at launch and is genuinely reviewed separately when released. As for cover art, games are digital these days as much as physical. It's clear you're grasping as straws simply because you don't like the fact that this game didn't get 10/10 due to the pricing. All reviews are entirely subjective by the way. If you don't want to hear someone else's opinion on a game, don't read their review.
@UltimateOtaku91 where's the line drawn though for price in a review.
Take Journey, one of the best PS games ever. What if that was £70. Should it then get 10/10 reviews still.
Price is definitely a subjective issue but it's not something that can be removed wholesale.
@tameshiyaku I'm lucky enough to not have any disability (except perhaps poor eyesight 🤣) and I have zero issue with Sony putting out a trailer highlighting their accessibility options. This trailer isn't meant for people like you or me, but for others it will make a big difference to them
For all of Sony's many many faults these last few years, the sheer amount of accessibility options in their games is something to be championed. In that they definitely are the best.
@Rob_230 this 100%. I totally believe that all this negativity can actually bring around a positive change and put Sony back as the innovative and great company they once were. I find it funny that when the "for the players" slogan was first created, that's exactly what Sony were! How times change.
Considering Sony gave up on Japan a few years ago, sadly the feeling is mutual.
Maybe I'll wake up tomorrow, PS headquarters are back in Japan where they should be, they make multiple genres of games and put the gamer front and center like they used to rather than this insufferable elitist attitude they seem to have developed of late.
Sony and Microsoft have a much more competitive battle for market share in the US. That's why the price hasn't gone up there. The currency value is just smoke and mirrors.
This just reads like a list of best PlayStation games?! I realise the term "adventure game" has been expanded over the years but the roots of the genre are in the old point and click games with emphasis on a puzzle solving alongside an immersive story. Resident Evil Village as an adventure game? Why not go all out and include God of War? A strange list indeed.
The fact that people see obtaining a "platinum trophy" as akin to beating a game is so strange. Especially with how little you have to do to even achieve them nowadays. Take Spider-Man. You don't even need to get Ultimate on all the Taskmaster challenges or complete the game on the hardest difficulty. How is getting the platinum for that game "100%"ing the game?!?! Some people just play for the "ding"
I absolutely love this. If I didn't have Lan Di as my profile avatar for this site I would have chosen Loaderbot!
Also, when talking about great writing in games I find that the Telltale Games tend to get overlooked, and this has the best writing of all of them. Portal levels of good writing.
I still can't believe they managed to out-Nintendo the Switch Online offering for worst service this gen! It has to get better, simply because it can't get any worse.
I mean, why not. Of all the things to criticise Sony for lately, porting their games to PC isn't one of them. A very sensible decision which only increases fan engagement and sales alike. The best idea they've come up with in the last 5 years.
Top of the Netflix charts. Considering "Sweet Girl" also got to Number 1 along with many other awful movies it's hardly a sign of quality being highly watched with the Netflix viewership.
I'd say that these days the words "calm and measured" no longer also apply to Sony themselves. From their sporadic engagement approach with their fanbase to well... everything the last year or so with them I'd say they continuously deserve all criticism until we get old Sony back.
Just showed the clip to my wife who is a total non-gamer. She genuinely had no clue as to which version was PS4 or PS5 and just commented that they were saturated differently. This game exists purely for fanboys to give Sony more money.
If I forget about the Last of Us 1 remake will that also go away 😂😅 I never even bother with the share button on any of my consoles. Accolades won't be missed.
Here's the hard fact. If Last of Us Past 1 retails for £70, then they'll use the justification that a ground up new game can then be sold for £80+! I'm calling it now that next gen only games like Wolverine and whatnot that don't have a PS4 version will soon be priced at +£80.
Aspyr launched the switch port of KOTOR2 with a literal game breaking bug that made it impossible to complete. This game had bad news since they were confirmed as the developer. Don't forget this is their first ever game that isn't a port either....
The price is the reason it's a cash grab. It's the same opportunism that perpetuates through FIFA Ultimate Team and mobile gaming. Charge way above what's necessary knowing a select few will pay the price no matter what you end up charging. Regardless of the work that's gone into the game, they are asking for the same fee as Horizon Forbidden West and God of War Ragnarok. Two brand new games built from scratch. I'm not saying this remaster is worthless but any sense of perspective at all shows that this is a really dodgy practice on this release.
I can't help but think back to the Ratchet and Clank remake for PS4 back in 2016. A game built from the ground up as a remake, not just new visuals but all new gameplay as well! Sony back then released this game as a budget title with a lower price point than their other new games. Sony has since then, sadly, changed. The LoU Part 1 is most definitely a cash grab. Sony's past positive actions prove why.
Rockstar have shown themselves to not be the developers they once were. I sadly have very low expectations of this game if it eventually ever does appear. With Red Dead Online being shut down and the total lack of support for single player games from their end I expect it to be GTA Online 2 in all but name.
Considering how litigious Germany and Austria are, this won't go down well there at all.
I understand Sony can no longer allow customers to stream/download the affected films due to the changing licensing agreements, but that said the absolute bare minimum is a refund for the people who have actually purchased these films themselves.
This one isn't going away anytime soon.
First of all, $70 isn't £70. So for all you lucky Americans getting games on the cheap, us Brits are essentially bearing the brunt of Sony's massive price hike. It's true, I definitely spend more of my gaming money on game sales and significantly less day 1 purchases than usual. The cost of living crisis isn't going anywhere and this is something gaming companies are going to have to think very hardly about. I need to pay my electricity bill before I can game for example...
The Matrix Awakens Unreal demo turned out to be better than the Matrix Resurrections film it was supporting 🤣 Well worth a download from everyone before this vanishes into the same depths as P.T.
The sequence of the fish factory worker is one of my gaming highlights from any game ever. It's a game I always use a rebuttal whenever anyone uses the term "Indie Game" in a negative way.
Digital Eclipse! If they're involved in a retro collection I'm buying it day 1. They're museum preservationists of the gaming industry and this one looks amazing!
