Astro Bot looks like the most exciting Sony game in the last half decade. One of the few games I will get day 1. As the article states, this is EXACTLY the type of game I missed from Sony. I really can't wait!
You were all correct and I was wrong.
Absolutely indefensible. Outrageous when considered with the recent ActiBlizz acquisition. The tone of the internal email is shockingly inconsiderate as well. I shan't be standing by Xbox any longer!
One of my favourite fighting games ever! Still go back to it with friends round after all these years! Didn't even know this was getting a PS5 version, let alone free upgrade. Thanks for the heads up!
The lack of voice acting is explained by the fact it is set in Southern Germany and the text you read is often translated in front of your eyes as you do so. Having an English voiceover wouldn't work at all.
For those wanting Monkey Island 1+2 on modern consoles, get a Series X or S while MS are still making devices. Both available from the online store still and fully playable via backwards compatibility!
Yes! Forgot this was around the corner. Can't believe this is finally out after what feels like forever!
Ordering my copy now! Finally another reason to own my PS5 😆
I hope Sea of Stars is Number 1 then, otherwise this is playground levels of GOTY🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I absolutely refuse, on any level in my 25+ years of gaming across multiple platforms, to see how Spider-Man 2 is a better game than this or Alan Wake 2. And I say that as someone who thinks Spider-Man 2 was very enjoyable and decent. Highly recommended game, but GOTY it most certainly is not!
Rarely comment here these days but just want to stand in solidarity with Insomniac. Their games are genuinely the best in the industry, I can trace their gaming history to my own childhood and growing up with Spyro on the PS1. If you're a true fan of gaming, don't play the wolverine build, don't read news on the leaks and buy Spider-Man 2! (Or buy it for someone else if you already have it yourself!)
@Titntin I actually think with EA their future is more secure. EA love to pump out annual releases and as long as they hold the licenses to both F1 and WRC then they're as safe as houses in my view. What's likely to be missing is the more creative approach such as Grid or Onrush but the EA buyout of Codemasters is one of the only recent acquisitions that to me felt like a "good fit"
Really looking forward to this. Dirt Rally 2 feels like it came out ages ago and as much as I really like the Kyloton WRC series, I definitely prefer Codemasters handling systems.
On a business level you can't argue with his success. The numbers don't lie and he's put PlayStation in a position of dominance I've not seen since the PS2 era.
On a personal level, I can't help but feel that by doing so he's turned his back on what made some of the earlier PS games so great. He's made PS more Americanised, with a commercial focus and less of the quirkiness I used to associate with PlayStation.
I'm not sad to see him go but I doubt that his leaving will signal a shift in Sony's direction which is what I ultimately want to see.
For me it's Gran Turismo 1 on the PS1. The Super Mario or Doom equivalent of racing games and for my money the most important game that Sony has ever made!
If the 4 million were anything like me, they'd have played it for half an hour, realised the matchmaking is terrible, game is boring and uninstalled shortly afterwards.
It's superb! Very similar to Atari 50 but with the more defined focus on one game and its history it's even more interesting to play/experience. I view buying games from Digital Eclipse almost like a charitable donation to game preservation, they're that good.
PS Extra was genuinely building up to be a real Game Pass competitor. Cheaper, solid shuffling of games and the odd day 1 release. With this (significant) price increase all that goodwill and foundation work has gone out of the window. Premium was always a disaster, but the new cost of PS Extra had gone from being a gaming 'no brainer' to a 'no thanks'
Moments like this I wish there was an "ignore reviewer" button like there is for "ignore user" as whilst it's certainly an opinion, it's so far from mine that it's clear our gaming tastes couldn't be further apart.
7/10 for Quake 2! I suppose the Red Dead Redemption port will get the same score as this! The gameplay is as thrilling as it's ever been, levels are multilayered, hours of high quality content and Nightdive have even added in a compass feature so modern players attuned to handholding don't get lost. This review is most definitely the "outlier" for the game. If you're on the fence about this game, ignore this review and get it anyway.
The Series X backwards compatibility version runs at 60FPS (Edit: It clearly doesn't, seems I was talking out of my backside here).
This is nothing but one of the laziest port attempts in recent memory.
What happened to Rockstar?! The PS2 years of GTA, Manhunt, Warriors etc... Seems so so far away from the hideous company they've morphed into today.
Once again Sony leading the way on accessibility in games! What they do with their first party releases is amazing. Nintendo and MS have a lot to learn from them.
I'm definitely more Xbox than Sony these days, but this is getting my attention more than Starfield. Especially as it doesn't come with ridiculous amounts of hype, it just looks really really damn good! Can see myself playing this one first!
@DennisReynolds the soundtrack isn't included?!?! Akira Yamaoka's score was one of the best things about the original. I hope you're mistaken as otherwise that's a huge disappointment.
😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣 It's beyond a joke with SE management and their sales expectations. It's like they expect their games to sell like GTAV and Mario Kart! I knew the previous praise on FF16's sales were too good to be true

The game was so bad Sega successfully sued as the blatant rip off it was. Some people have no taste (you'll find them playing foam stars).
