Where are the figures for Resident Evil 4?! I don't believe a game that came to every console under the sun before the new remake, sold less than the RE0 remaster. Must be a mistake from the source figures surely?

I am positively shocked that Resident Evil Gaiden for the GBC didn't make the top 10 😂

Jokes aside Resident Evil 2 is for my money the best game remake there's ever been! Well deserved No 1 spot.

Italian Job and more recently Lost world Jurassic Park all feature very similar sequences and shots as well.
Would be disingenuous in the extreme to suggest this came from Uncharted 2. If anything the directors and team have made it clear that Buster Keaton's The General and that film's excellent train work and stunts is the inspiration for said scenes.

Disappointing. Removing things in a re-release is fair game so long as the original is still playable. So the potentially offensive racial changes are fine with me.
That said, why Sony needs to insist on changes that even Nintendo don't is utterly beyond me.

@naruball this!! Episode 3 was an example of the series taking something from the game and improving it! One of the best episodes of not just the series, but television in general of all time.

Every nomination well earned. Easily the best video game adaptation there's ever been.

Entirely unsurprising decision. The writers and users of this site have put forward more effective arguments against the deal than the FTC did. By spending half the time arguing that the Switch doesn't count and the other half about Call of Duty (something even the CMA said doesn't matter) this outcome was all but to be expected.

I loved the Amnesia Fortnight shows as well and this documentary really is amazing.
I'd say that if you genuinely take gaming seriously as a hobby you owe it to yourself to watch it.

Maybe check your facts Push Square. If you follow the news on "The Verge" (which is doing a fantastic reporting job btw) you'll know that they've stated their disapproval of the deal but it's not blocked in any sense of the word at all.

Biggest surprise for me was the new Capcom game day 1 on Game Pass. As a usually platform agnostic company and unlike Exoprimal not looking like a multiplayer service game, that was genuinely unexpected.

Easy to see why this didn't get a spot in the previous PS showcase after all... Yikes. If Sony is going to successfully walk the TV&Film/Video Game tightrope it needs The Last of Us TV series to not just be a one-off in terms of quality.

One (of the presumably many), who don't own one. I don't have the largest interest in VR in the first place and the fact it's so expensive means it's something I'll just never end up likely getting. Same situation with the original PSVR for me. I'm just not into VR games.

If anybody gets how to keep a game fun with regular content and great shooting mechanics it's Bungie. Never played the original Marathon games but I'm well aware of their history and impact.
Definitely the most pleasant surprise of the recent showcase for me.

Bungie (one of the very few companies who gets live service games) raised concerns about long term playability!
This is a good thing. This is Sony realising they have a "Halo Infinite" on their hands MP wise and pivoting accordingly.

It would certainly make sense with Sony's current heavy push into TV and Film to reveal things like Heavy Metal and Last of Us Factions alongside their TV promotions as well.
Sadly this also feeds into the concerns that single player games aren't their focus anymore, especially when those aforementioned two games are live service ones.
Also, expect the Horizon Zero Dawn PS5 remake reveal to debut alongside the Amazon TV series promo

It's worth remembering that if the deal doesn't go through, MS have to pay AB 3Billion as a consequence.
The operating annual profit of MS in the UK is 300Million.
Not small change of course but it's worth bearing these numbers in mind if the UK is going to be the ONLY country in the world that stands against the deal.

I voted good for the showcase.
Viewed as a showcase for upcoming games in general it was one of the best I've seen in a while.
Viewed as a "why did I choose PS5" showcase then that's where it failed to deliver. As someone who owns all three consoles I definitely thought it was solid in fairness (Sony Wii U Pad excluded)

One of the highlights from the showcase for me. Ghostrunner 1 was absolutely fantastic 9/10 stuff! Can't wait for this!

Sony deciding to not just reinvent the wheel, but the Wii U instead.

Hopefully they can add some Craig Breen content after his tragic death in a practice rally earlier this year. A huge loss to the sport.

I think with Venom being involved we're likely to see other symbiotes. If not Carnage then perhaps some of the symbiotes from Lethal Protector.
Definitely concur that the Kravens Last Hunt storyline is Spiderman comics at their best!
(I still think Venom will be playable in some form, ala Ultimate Spiderman)

It's been boxed in with PS5's for ages. Same reason Wii Sports is one of the best selling games of all time.
I really wish there was a way to exclude boxed in sales from these figures as personally, I don't feel like it tells me much.

Genuinely the best Video Game Adoption I've seen and likely to be the best for years, if not decades to come. The benchmark has been set.

It was an ok game but not one I'll be getting the DLC for. It wasn't interesting enough of a game for me to want to revisit.

@Titntin I have to agree. And even if people were still playing, it's important to have new games and experiences too. I don't want Media Molecule to end up like Rare just updating Sea of Thieves for all eternity for example.

Had some amazing time and memories with this game. The definition of an underrated masterpiece.
Here's hoping the next Media Molecule project can match up to this. It's got very big boots to fill indeed.

Probably one of the top 5 games Sony has made over the last decade.
Looking forward to the next Media Molecule project. Their games are a huge refresher from the Cinematic Action-Adventure games Sony produce too much of personally.

The story isn't just better, the game itself is too!

I'm not such an antisocial gamer that I play games all day having travelled to see my family 🤣😅😂 but before settling down to bed, having a 1/2 hour gaming session via the tablet & cloud is really very good

Remote play is a very handy feature. When visiting family for example I can still play my games on a weekend away.
But forking out what will inevitably be £150+ for a Sony branded piece of kit to already do what I'm doing on my tablet/phone?! No thanks.

Actually this is really helpful outside of gaming immersion. Whenever I have cold fingers, I'm not as quick as usual so having a heated controller is a genius idea.

With the cross TV/Game approach Sony is going for, how long before their console games have bugs in order to hit the movie/TV show deadlines as well?
I'm more interested in the digital foundry review of the new Twisted Metal game now than the game itself.

Lost Planet? Dead Rising? Seriously those games are already playable on modern consoles and are fine as is.

Worth remembering that the Atari 50 collection was made by Digital Eclipse which is unrelated to the other companies here.
That said, Nightdive is a great purchase. Their remasters are absolutely superb! Forsaken being an absolute classic.
