if xbox had a new fallout game for this gen for xbox things might have been different for them this gen

for me theres not alot of games that are ps5 only. You can play most games still on ps4

people are not leaving the live service games they already play to switch over to a new one

question is what will happen to the old ps2 games already on ps4 using the old emulator. will they be updated ? or will you have to pay for a new version

would love it if fallout 3 and new vegas were available to play on ps5 (steaming the non GOTY ps3 versions doesnt really cut it)

@breakneck thats is indeed the problem they made some great games but people didnt buy them

AAA gaming isnt financially viable spending 300 million to make a game on the hopes of making your money back

one of my favourite games ever and the DLC but the game didn't even sell a million units so was a commercial failure

is it still locked behind the PS+ paywall or can everyone use it now ?

I liked Redfall and played it all the way though thought it was a good 7/10 game i would have actually bought in if it came to PS5.

at the moment only 23% of games played have come out in the last 3 years

new releases are in big trouble

I like the subscriptions however gamepass day 1 games doenst make financial sense. subscription services should be for older games once sales have died down.

EA actually do this best you have to buy it if you want to play in the first year but you know after a year it will be on EA play

@Kraven they each made some great games but they dont sell and with the cost nowdays to make AAA games you cant make a AAA game for hundreds of millions and sell under a million copies and stay in business.

I dont like it because prey and Evil within 2 are two of my favourite games of all time but each game was a commercial failure selling less than a million copies

@playstation1995 The games didnt sell despite being good Prey was great so was evil within 2 both didnt sell even a million and were commercial failures

Is a sad state of the gaming industry when great games dont sell because everyone's too busy playing the live service games

I dont think putting PlayStation exclusives on the xbox makes much difference as it has a much much smaller user base.

now if sony can put ports of ps4 titles on switch 2 that is a money maker

it obviously works currently without the need for a PSN account

i dont see it as a massive issue as you already have to do that with other publishers eg EA. its just that sony want your data and can boast more PSN users

that's great and everything but what about all the stuff we would still like for the actual ps5 UI. folders, themes, Explore update, Being able to see what your friends are up to, quick resume equivalent

I suspect a remaster of horizon zero dawn. fingers crossed its for a £5 to £10 fee like spiderman and last of us 2 were.

@Vovander yeah i wish sony had a consistant time span in which they add their games to ps+ extra be it a year, 2 years, 3 years.

@Stickleman totally agree lots of people who have very strong opinions and hate fallout 76 have never actually played it because of what they believe it is. even if they do try it they start it up put very little into it and dismiss it.

having sunk hundreds of hours into it i can say you can play the whole of fallout 76 solo. Did all the main quests i loved exploring the map one of the best maps they have made and didnt engage in the multiplayer or settlement building or microtransactions.

another game im glad i didnt miss out on because of everyone else's opinion on it

it was a really good show in my opinion probably the best game to tv adaption made.

@Splat yeah i tthought the Fallout tv show was a great. The show captured the feel of fallout and told a good story that im intrigued to see where it goes next

Fallout 3 and fallout vegas are the best and run like a dream on series X 4k60fps. 9/10

fallout 76 despite its reputation i thoroughly enjoyed doing all the main quests in that game. 8/10

fallout 4 i feel wasnt as enjoyable the limited dialogue system, more of a shooter than RPG, settlement building not for me, constant settlement in trouble stuff was a chore 7/10

having played 150 hours of fallout 76 its not a looter shooter at all nothing like destiny or division.

its a fallout game with a great map you explore and do quests.

for me it goes

fallout 3 9/10
fallout new vegas 9/10
fallout 76 8/10
fallout 4 7/10

Fallout 76 is a good game with a bad reputation it cant shift. you dont have to play fallout 76 multiplayer i played the whole thing solo. I have enjoyed it more than fallout 4 it has a great map to explore probably there best map they have done

fallout 3 and new Vegas are the best ones though i would start with those

@MattSilverado me personally i play fallout 76 single player and i really enjoyed all the main quests its got a great map to explore

the fallout 4 GOTY version isnt on sale its still £34.99 whewn its usual sale price is £8.74

shame fallout 3 and fallout new vegas are stuck on poorly performing ps3 versions that are stream only on ps4 and ps5. I play them now on series X which plays them at 4k60

haven't played fallout 1, 2 or tactics

played fallout 3 and vegas, and fallout 4 multiple times and still play fallout 76

I was pleased with the show though my issues with it were similar to the last of us lack of monsters and lore changes irked me

fallout 4 is my least favourite fallout game
