Re: Reaction: Sony's Bungie Buyout Means Little for PS5, PS4 Fans Right Now

Altaria_97

Kinda funny how they went from making games for Microsoft and now they’re going to operate under Sony now. I didn’t like the original Destiny but I heard the sequel was a lot better, and given its free-to-play, maybe I’ll give a go sometime soon. It would be cool if they had Bungie work on the next Killzone or another PlayStaion property. If all this amounts to is Destiny 3 being a PlayStation exclusive… then that doesn’t really do anything for me lol.

Re: Poll: How Long Should Games Be?

Altaria_97

Depends on the genre and the quality of the game but I’d say now that I’m older, I prefer my games to be between 10-25 hours. A little over is fine, but when games require like 50+ hours just to beat the main story I get pretty turned off and shift it further down my backlog lol.

Re: Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart Voted PS5 Game of the Year on PS Blog

Altaria_97

I agree with the PS5 and PS4 lists. Great year when you combine first and third-parties but I can see why people are disappointed from just a first-party perspective. Pretty much just Ratchet and Clank, Returnal, and some PS4 games getting patches or rereleases. Deathloop is really good but that’s also on PC.

Re: Splinter Cell Remake Officially Announced, Not Open World

Altaria_97

Very excited. Loved Chaos Theory and was planning on playing through some of the other titles in the near future. Glad they’re not going open-world as well. Not every game needs it and when I played Chaos Theory, it seemed the more linear, level based structure actually worked out to the strengths of its mechanics and game flow. I’m not opposed to open-world design, but I like me some classic game design conventions still.

Re: Poll: Did You Buy GTA Trilogy?

Altaria_97

I never played the originals so I was looking forward to this release. After seeing everything… nah. I’ll just play the San Andreas port on my VITA or something for free if I get the itch to play an older GTA down the road since Rockstar removed the ability to buy the original versions.

Re: Poll: Did You Buy Call of Duty: Vanguard?

Altaria_97

@Snackfood Same exact situation here. The day it came out I had no plan on getting the game. Little did I know that I’d buy it and play it within the next 24 hours because all my old middle/high school buddies would finally all decide to buy another CoD after many, many years.

And… I’ve actually had a ton of fun. The multiplayer, mechanics, visuals, customization, and maps all feel great. It’s also just fun to play a multiplayer FPS with my buddies after all these years. I didn’t touch the campaign or Zombies yet but I’ll definitely check them out soon. I remember loving Zombies in World and War and the first Black Ops. Plus I’ve always liked the campaigns and heard this one is relatively short, so I’d love to just binge that in a couple days.

Re: Rumoured GTA Trilogy Remasters Get Age Rating in Korea

Altaria_97

I know RockStar has been milking their older titles for a long time now (well, mainly GTA V), but I’m actually really interested in this collection if real. I haven’t played any of the GTA III titles as both my older brothers and I were too young to get our hands on a rated M game back in the day. If this is real, I’ll probably pick it up!

Re: Rumour: Destruction AllStars Dev at the Wheel for New Twisted Metal Game

Altaria_97

I only played Destruction All-Stars once on my brother’s PS5 but it was pretty fun. It was definitely polished but it just seemed they were trying too hard to combine the a lot of games into one. If they focus on the gameplay of an existing franchise I think there’s a lot of potential for it to turn out well. And if that existing franchise is Twisted Metal… then He’ll yeah I’m down!

Re: Poll: Do You Want Even More PS5 Marvel Games from Sony?

Altaria_97

I’m cool with what we’re getting. Another Spider-Man and a Wolverine sounds awesome. That said, even though I’m a big Marvel fan (mainly the MCU), I would rather have Insomniac work on something else. Another Ratchet and Clank, Resistance, Sunset Overdrive, etc. It would also be neat to see them work on Jak and Daxter or Sly Cooper if other development teams have their hands full.

Re: Poll: Did You Buy Deathloop?

Altaria_97

I played the original Dishonored. Didn't think it was incredible but I still had good fun with it. Gotta play through the sequel at some point. Might get Deathloop down the road, too many other titles in my backlog. Glad people like it, though!

Re: God of War Ragnarok, Gran Turismo 7 PS4 Versions Confirmed

Altaria_97

This is nice news. I don’t know when I’ll ever get a PS5 at this point with my current backlog, financial situation, and chip shortage. If I can play the new games at reasonable resolutions and frame rates on my PS4 Pro then I’ll be a happy camper. Returnal and Ratchet and Clank are the two big games that I’ll have to wait on, though.

Re: Aloy Trends As Fans Discuss Horizon Forbidden West Hero

Altaria_97

Literally shocked people are complaining about women not looking “feminine” enough in video games. News flash: not all women have perfect jawlines, hourglass bodies, and cover themselves in makeup. Especially not Alloy, look at the setting of the game she’s from. Let me just apply some makeup and do my hair before going out and hunting a giant beast. Gotta look beautiful for the boys lol.

Anyone actually complaining about this needs to go outside and get a sense of reality.

Re: Reminder: Get Horizon Zero Dawn for Free Until Tomorrow

Altaria_97

Thanks for the PSA. I just claimed it. I own the physical copy of the Complete Edition but it's nice to have the digital copy for convenience since it's free. This is one of the few PS4 games that I still need to go back and play... and damnit this summer I'm going to make it happen!

Re: Insomniac: 'Nothing Really Stopping Us' Working on Sunset Overdrive

Altaria_97

I enjoyed the game. Granted, I was in high school when it released so the edgy, immature humor really hit with me back then. Man... crazy to think that was almost 7 years ago.

I remember enjoying the game, though. The gameplay reminded me of a cross between Tony Hawk and Ratchet and Clank. Fun, crazy weapons to use while you're constantly skating on poles and parkouring around buildings. I was actually considering picking the game up on PC later this year when it goes on sale again and I clear up more of my backlog. It's a whacky game... a very fun one that isn't for everyone, though.

Re: Poll: Did You Buy Resident Evil Village?

Altaria_97

Wow, I legit didn’t know the game released. I’ve been so out of the loop with gaming news and releases recently.

Anyways, this is something I’ll pick up down the road when it’s cheaper. Not sure which platform, probably PC but if I have a PS5 by then maybe I’d spring for a physical copy. We shall see.

Re: Tales of Arise Drops Multiplayer for Bigger Focus on Characters, Story

Altaria_97

Same as most others here as I had no idea previous entries even supported multiplayer. Glad they’re focusing on the story and keeping the game more linear. I feel like every company feels a need to make their games open-world now like Breath of the Wild. Linearity isn’t a bad practice at all to me so I’m glad they’re keeping it here so they can focus on the gameplay and story more.

Re: Tales of Arise Coming 10th September, PS5 Version Confirmed

Altaria_97

I'll definitely be looking into this game. I probably won't get it right away but once I clear out most of my backlog and (hopefully) have a PS5, I'd be down to give this a go. I only tried a Tales game once, just a demo for Vesperia, but I remember enjoying it a bit. Might try to find that on the bargain bin if I can't snag a PS5 by then, I would just really want to play this game at 60fps if possible with those beautiful visuals.
