I only skimmed through the article but are people really saying you cannot enjoy both titles? Jeez, they’re both fantastic games just play whichever titles interest you, have fun, and let others do the same.
Will read through the entire sometime article after work.
EDIT: Ignore my comment lol, get2sammyb filled me in
Really cool but probably the worst possible time they could have done this. Horizon Forbidden West and Pokémon Legends just came out within the past few weeks and people are jumping back into CybePunk since it’s finally “complete” now. And with GRID Legends and obviously, Elden Ring out this Friday… this is probably the worst weekend they could have picked lol.
Eh, I don’t know why I care so much. I’ll be on vacation at the mountains this weekend lol.
@Bentleyma I might be doing the same. I’m planning on playing through Forbidden West when it’s cheaper sometime in the Spring/Summer and I’ve gotten through my current list of games to play. I don’t think I’ll have a PS5 by then so I might be snagging the PS4 version for my Pro given it doesn’t come to PC by the time I want to play it.
Kinda funny how they went from making games for Microsoft and now they’re going to operate under Sony now. I didn’t like the original Destiny but I heard the sequel was a lot better, and given its free-to-play, maybe I’ll give a go sometime soon. It would be cool if they had Bungie work on the next Killzone or another PlayStaion property. If all this amounts to is Destiny 3 being a PlayStation exclusive… then that doesn’t really do anything for me lol.
I have a Switch, PS4 Pro, and PC so this entire fiasco is null to me. I’ll still have access to the games regardless but I’m a lucky one I suppose. Not lucky enough to randomly stumble upon a PS5 or Series X yet, but fortunate nonetheless.
Really like them. Not enough to replace the cover of my hard copies but they’re still very nice. Hopefully more anniversary stuff gets revealed before they call it a wrap. Loved the rebooted trilogy and would like another title!
Purple looks clean. I’m planning on picking up a PS5 at some point later this year… thinking of snagging the purple controller and purple plate. Either that or black.
Pretty cool it’s on PC but I’ll stick to my physical copy on my PS4 Pro. I’m not opposed to PS games going to PC but I don’t wanna buy a PS5 and have the entire library available on PC soon after.
Depends on the genre and the quality of the game but I’d say now that I’m older, I prefer my games to be between 10-25 hours. A little over is fine, but when games require like 50+ hours just to beat the main story I get pretty turned off and shift it further down my backlog lol.
Bring back Jak and Daxter or give us a new IP. Not that I’m against Uncharted or TLOU but I want to see what else the company can do. I’d love to see another 3D platformer!
Happy new year, fam! That's a very packed first couple of months. Just like Longondo said above, I too have a new year resolution to buy not buy any games until I finish most of my backlog. Got a ton to go!
I agree with the PS5 and PS4 lists. Great year when you combine first and third-parties but I can see why people are disappointed from just a first-party perspective. Pretty much just Ratchet and Clank, Returnal, and some PS4 games getting patches or rereleases. Deathloop is really good but that’s also on PC.
Very excited. Loved Chaos Theory and was planning on playing through some of the other titles in the near future. Glad they’re not going open-world as well. Not every game needs it and when I played Chaos Theory, it seemed the more linear, level based structure actually worked out to the strengths of its mechanics and game flow. I’m not opposed to open-world design, but I like me some classic game design conventions still.
I expected nothing so I was surprised to find a decent amount of stuff I actually cared about. I didn’t watch the event but going through all of the announcements and trailers… I’m pretty impressed. Looking forward to 2022!
Looking forward to this but will probably wait for a price drop. The last GRID was fun but lacking in content, glad I waited and picked it up with the DLC for like $20 or so. Legends is looking great though. I’m looking forward to hearing more!
I never played the originals so I was looking forward to this release. After seeing everything… nah. I’ll just play the San Andreas port on my VITA or something for free if I get the itch to play an older GTA down the road since Rockstar removed the ability to buy the original versions.
Yeah I’m waiting for this “remaster” to get patched and drop in price before picking it up. It’s not looking so hot but I’ve also never played any of the GTA titles before IV.
Lol. I didn’t preorder the game but I plan to pick it up in some capacity after seeing how it performs on all platforms. Might wait for a price drop of the physical release for Switch or something depending how that version runs. Otherwise it’ll be PS4 Pro or PC for me.
It’s the first GTA game I played and I definitely had a lot of fun with it. But with the trilogy of GTA III games about to drop… I’d rather them just hold off on more remasters and focus on getting GTA VI to us. It’ll come eventually… right? 😂
@Snackfood Same exact situation here. The day it came out I had no plan on getting the game. Little did I know that I’d buy it and play it within the next 24 hours because all my old middle/high school buddies would finally all decide to buy another CoD after many, many years.
And… I’ve actually had a ton of fun. The multiplayer, mechanics, visuals, customization, and maps all feel great. It’s also just fun to play a multiplayer FPS with my buddies after all these years. I didn’t touch the campaign or Zombies yet but I’ll definitely check them out soon. I remember loving Zombies in World and War and the first Black Ops. Plus I’ve always liked the campaigns and heard this one is relatively short, so I’d love to just binge that in a couple days.
I had no idea Suicide Squad is going to be a live service game. That stings. Still keeping an eye on it though because I love Rocksteady. Arkham Asylum and City are incredible. Knight is really solid too. I really like the new angle with SS I just hope it being a live service game doesn’t ruin its potential.
I know RockStar has been milking their older titles for a long time now (well, mainly GTA V), but I’m actually really interested in this collection if real. I haven’t played any of the GTA III titles as both my older brothers and I were too young to get our hands on a rated M game back in the day. If this is real, I’ll probably pick it up!
I only played Destruction All-Stars once on my brother’s PS5 but it was pretty fun. It was definitely polished but it just seemed they were trying too hard to combine the a lot of games into one. If they focus on the gameplay of an existing franchise I think there’s a lot of potential for it to turn out well. And if that existing franchise is Twisted Metal… then He’ll yeah I’m down!
I’m cool with what we’re getting. Another Spider-Man and a Wolverine sounds awesome. That said, even though I’m a big Marvel fan (mainly the MCU), I would rather have Insomniac work on something else. Another Ratchet and Clank, Resistance, Sunset Overdrive, etc. It would also be neat to see them work on Jak and Daxter or Sly Cooper if other development teams have their hands full.
I played the original Dishonored. Didn't think it was incredible but I still had good fun with it. Gotta play through the sequel at some point. Might get Deathloop down the road, too many other titles in my backlog. Glad people like it, though!
I’ve been playing Dirt 5 again on PC recently and it’s a ton of fun. Controls, visuals, and presentation are all great. Highly recommend it, even if not through this EA subscription method. I may have said this already but whenever I get a PS5 I’d consider getting a physical copy of it when it gets cheap.
Been playing this on PC recently and it’s a ton of fun. Great racer with nice vivid visuals. Whenever I get a PS5 I’d consider picking this up physically on the bargain bin.
Oh my... I see backgrounds and stages that look like they are from the first two titles... plus Monkey Target has that medal... this could be a huge comeback for the series. Fingers crossed!
@Loftimus It is, but from the gameplay I've seen it seems much more simplified with less options, powerups, and stage variety. I haven't actually played it so I can't speak on how much fun it is.
@hi_drnick I thought the same thing. I was expecting at least a 9 if not a 10. There were 3 minor complaints and everything else was just oozing with compliments and praise. I feel like the $70 price-tag for a 12 hour game is what made the score lower.
This is nice news. I don’t know when I’ll ever get a PS5 at this point with my current backlog, financial situation, and chip shortage. If I can play the new games at reasonable resolutions and frame rates on my PS4 Pro then I’ll be a happy camper. Returnal and Ratchet and Clank are the two big games that I’ll have to wait on, though.
Literally shocked people are complaining about women not looking “feminine” enough in video games. News flash: not all women have perfect jawlines, hourglass bodies, and cover themselves in makeup. Especially not Alloy, look at the setting of the game she’s from. Let me just apply some makeup and do my hair before going out and hunting a giant beast. Gotta look beautiful for the boys lol.
Anyone actually complaining about this needs to go outside and get a sense of reality.
I’m definitely getting it, more of a matter of when though. I still don’t have a PS5 plus as always, my backlog is huge. I know I can get it for my PS4 Pro but I think I might just wait to play it the best way possible.
This is much smaller than I would have ever guessed since the game has such amazing visuals, animations, and such diverse and expansive worlds. Very impressed.
Honestly, if any triple-A game is under 60GB I'm pretty surprised lol.
Thanks for the PSA. I just claimed it. I own the physical copy of the Complete Edition but it's nice to have the digital copy for convenience since it's free. This is one of the few PS4 games that I still need to go back and play... and damnit this summer I'm going to make it happen!
I enjoyed the game. Granted, I was in high school when it released so the edgy, immature humor really hit with me back then. Man... crazy to think that was almost 7 years ago.
I remember enjoying the game, though. The gameplay reminded me of a cross between Tony Hawk and Ratchet and Clank. Fun, crazy weapons to use while you're constantly skating on poles and parkouring around buildings. I was actually considering picking the game up on PC later this year when it goes on sale again and I clear up more of my backlog. It's a whacky game... a very fun one that isn't for everyone, though.

Still don’t have a PS5 so if I pick this up I’ll be playing at 30fps 1800p on my Pro.

7. I’ll take it considering I haven’t played a lot of the games on this quiz lol.
Re: Surprise! There's a Brand New Call of Duty Game Launching This Year
Fix the visual glitches with the PC version of Vanguard first before I’ll consider buying another CoD.
