@get2sammyb Dunham said that "this won't affect our item drop system in any way" so items will drop as normal. This system is just another way of making money for Psyonix, so it seems.
I feel like there should be a few additions to this list, though I agree with a lot of them, especially Gravity Rush 2 and Infinite Warfare, which I was very surprised by.
Insomniac's Spider Man game - while we saw next to nothing about it, I'm cautiously anticipating it. If it can get the web swinging right as per Spider Man 2, then it could potentially be the greatest superhero game in a while
Ghost Recon: Wildlands - I was really surprised by this. Seeing it last year I thought it'd be another boring Ubisoft open world game, but it now looks more like a far better GTA Heists mode made into a game. Since it's Ubisoft, I'm again quite skeptical, but this looks promising
Star Trek VR - While I'm not a Star Trek fan, this easily looks like the best VR game I've seen, and I can't wait for it to come out. Working together in a ship sounds like the coolest thing
Why the hell not. Making physical editions of their games gives them a bit of publicity in game shops, so it's a good way to gain exposure - plus it gives an incentive for collectors and fans of the game
@Lucienjohnpeters @Number_6 So disappointing that literally no racers have couch multiplayer anymore. It's becoming a new trend that I'm really not a fan of.
@tororosso Just because I wasn't alive when some of the Micro Machines games came out doesn't mean I haven't played them - I played the hell out of V4 back on PS2, likewise V3. Also, I don't think insulting people is the best way to debate with them, just like you, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
@BowTiesAreCool @Bad-MuthaAdebisi @chiptoon I know what you mean. Like I said, it feels just too mobile-y for consoles. It's not a game to play for an extended period.
@AFCC The plat is pretty easy, yeah, but I doubt it'll be enjoyable. Shouldn't be too hard though!
@hi_drnick Yup. There are plenty of better racing games, but it's fine playing in short bursts if you're into that.
@Draythedestroyer Thanks! That's a pretty good example actually, didn't think of that.
@dryrain I definitely agree, I don't have too much time for gaming right now so it's nice to have content in bite size chunks. I do enjoy a big experience though
@themcnoisy Thanks!
@NAZA187 I was sceptical at first of the episodic release, but Sapienza won me over to the idea
@DrClayman Thanks! That's a good point, and that's why many Telltale games has "Previously on..." moments whenever you started a new episode. Alternatively, there's the Hitman route, where the levels are so loosely connected that story isn't a problem. I prefer the latter.
@rjejr I get why you're sour about the topic - the LEGO Hobbit thing was a bad move, and there are definitely bad ways to go about episodic games. But I'm not suggesting that these become a widespread thing - hell, the tagline says "experimental games" I'm just saying that this a very interesting concept that should be tested on more games
@Gamer83 That's a fair point too, it's always best to be sceptical when your money's at stake. Still, I think that it could work in some situations, as my above Assassin's Creed example explains.
@sub12 @xMEADx That's fair. Still, I think it's a concept that should be used at some point by bigger studios.
@JoeBlogs Thanks!
@kyleforrester87 I think so too - episodic games always make me want to find every secret and search every area because they're in digestible sizes and don't take too long to fully complete.
@Octane I agree too - prices should be capped at $60, otherwise it just becomes a bad investment
I wish I could just buy MW remastered on its own. By the looks of things so far, Infinite Warfare hasn't really got me excited yet, though it's early days.
@kyleforrester87 Trust me, you won't be disappointed. I wouldn't buy the entire season pass yet, but it's a good idea to buy Sapienza considering it's the pick of the bunch thus far.
@andreoni79 Whoops. My only knowledge of Italian is from food names, so I'm no expert on the language
@thatguyEZ I suppose, but then again the training missions in the Intro Pack were very small in comparison to Paris and Sapienza. If they put as much effort into later levels as they did with Sapienza, then I'm fine with them releasing 1 level, as much as I'd like two.
@VenomSnake08 @JaxonH @fabisputza00 @Frank90 The only real news about a physical release is that one's apparently coming at the end of the year once all the packs are released. At least there are plenty of games to tide you over until then!
@Draythedestroyer I agree. A lot of people knocked the game for its episodic release, but I quite like it, because it encourages the developers to make deep levels with plenty of content and replay factor, plus it means that they aren't rushed either
@Tasuki I imagine most still have a fair presence, although World At War's multiplayer is full of hackers and modders. I'd recommend Modern Warfare because of its simplicity, but Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops 2 are also ones recommended by a lot of people.
@Tasuki Thanks! I agree with what you say about Spire, it's a really nice looking map. It looks like something out of Mirror's Edge with its minimalism.
@Flurpsel I know what you mean. I'd love for shooters to revert back to simplicity at some point, I'm really not a fan of levelling up or anything like that
@Tasuki Thanks! Another Bigs would be great. Either that or World Series Baseball, that's probably my favourite baseball series.
@dellyrascal I quite liked Super Mega Baseball, though I don't really play it now. It stripped the game down to the basics, though it still had some compelling elements, but I mostly play football and american football games now.
@BAMozzy While the PS4 could be seen as technically underwhelming, it's still early days for the console - compare the early PS3 games to The Last of Us or GTA V and you'll see a huge technical difference. Like I've said before, adding a PS4 with 4K support is fine by me, but tampering with the hardware significantly will cause problems in the long term. Also, just curious: would you say that 4K is a big enough improvement over HD to warrant the prices, or is it a technology that most people should wait a little longer before they buy?
@themcnoisy I feel like 4K is too new and niche a technology to warrant making a new console over, considering the lack of support for 4K. There are only a few channels in the UK that I can think of that have 4K support, and I doubt that anyone would buy a 4K TV just to play their PS4 on considering the current price. I feel like 4K should only be a focus for Sony once it become a mainstream technology, as it doesn't make much sense for them to build one otherwise. Outputting a 4K resolution is one thing, but running a game at 4K is a whole nother level.
@jmbenetti I'd prefer them to wait until the PS5 to bolster game performance and hardware, just like you said. If they want to create a better entertainment box then they should focus on Blu-Ray players and set-top boxes
@ElkinFencer I'm fine with Sony making a PS4 slim, just like they have in previous generations, but bolstering gameplay performance is just wrong
@Hego Cheers! I had a long list of rejects for this one, I always seem to put way too much time into doing the sub headings.
@Bliquid Thanks! Tobey Maguire will always be the only Spider Man in our hearts
@Jaxx2507 Exactly. 4K is such a new and expensive technology that it's doubtful many people would buy a PS4K for its actual purpose
@kyleforrester87 That's a good point - there are a definite few games that haven't run well on PS4. Still, the final two cores of the PS4's CPU haven't been unlocked for developers yet, so we could see improved performance in the future.
@Thebenman That's what I'm worried about. This may be paranoid, but if this new PS4 is as powerful as the rumours claim, then it would definitely give improved performance over the original model.
@mrobinson91 Fair enough - I guess the benefits of console gaming is that we save money because we don't have to upgrade as often.
@superspur1978 If developers use this rumoured PS4.5 as a model for developing their games, then the version on the less powerful original model will probably take a hit in terms of performance. Two models means twice as much work for developers, interestingly.
@VanillaLake Thanks! Still, I wouldn't say that everyone at Push Square relentlessly stands by Sony - we are a group of PlayStation fans, so therefore we do have a slight bias towards Sony, but I can safely say that all of the writers here would always call out Sony on doing something wrong, and have done in the past. Still it's a matter of opinion. I agree with your comments about the retro lineup, though. PS2 releases on the PS4 have slowed down too much, and Sony should do more to bring PS1 and extra PS2 games more frequently to the PS Store.
@carlos82 That's not a bad idea, actually. Selling the PS4K as a way to prolong PSVR would probably be a way to get fans on board, I just think that Song shouldn't be exploring that option after 2 years of the console releasing.
@dryrain Backwards compatibility would probably be more of a problem if consoles were upgraded more often, but at least Sony are using PS Now to attempt Backwards compatibility. Still, ID prefer to download older games instead of streaming them.
@sham8nix @LieutenantFatman Imagine if all of these rumours were completely false! It's happened before, but I think that it's gone on for too long for it to be a hoax. It always helps to be skeptical though.
@DerMeister Two PS4s means more work for developers, which would probably mean Sony would have to help devs port games to their systems more. I'm not bothered about 4K, and while it's a nice extra for those who care about it, designing a new console seems a little excessive.
I'll be visiting the comments periodically tonight, so I'm around to answer any questions.
@AhabSpampurse The box art curse has struck again!
@morrisseymuse That's fair enough, we all have our opinions. I agree with you on the clinching things, as well as the grappling system, but I still think that the submission system is hidden and hard to get to - it's not that they're difficult to pull off, it's that they're hidden behind layers of HUD. I still enjoy Career mode though, although my technique of ground n' pound seems to make fights a bit too easy for me.
@TripleGK Definitely. It's got a lot for fans of UFC, but newcomers will probably get frustrated by the clinching and ground gameplay.
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi There are plenty of new modes, if that's what you're looking for, but the gameplay has regressed somewhat.
@Splat @john81 I would kill for a new Fight Night. Playing Round 3 all those years ago was crazy graphics-wise, and I loved Champion when it came out 5 years ago, so it'd be nice to get another boxing game soon
@stevejcrow As far as I know, no, but I imagine the developers have already patched that. I didn't have any real problems with framerate in this DLC though, so perhaps it's different on every console.
@themcnoisy By the looks of it, they haven't changed the gameplay much, but there are a lot of modes. There are 200 campaign tracks, as well as a track editor and random track generator (which is awesome for replayability) plus co-op online mode called Double Driver where two players drive the same car, as well as 4-player splitscreen multiplayer. The developers themselves have said they want it to play like an arcade game focused on stunts, so interpret that as you will. Personally, I can't wait for this, since there aren't many driving games that have excited me on PS4 so far
I remember when I first played Drake's Fortune round my friends at the start of middle school once he bought a PS3. Can't believe it's been this long since the original came out
@Sanquine I think it's a lot better in 2D in my opinion - there are certain franchises that are much better in 2D than 3D, not only Oddworld, but also Sonic and other series
I really hope this is being developed by the same people that did New N' Tasty, because that game was awesome. I still trust Oddworld Inhabitants though
I can see this being pretty good. I've heard a lot of people complain that she doesn't have the.... assets of Lara Croft (which is just a stupid complaint if you ask me) but I think she'd be a good Lara - she has an absurdly British accent, for one
@DominicanGlory While it's not exactly like Sonic in terms of structure and probably even genre, it really feels like a spiritual successor - the momentum, the satisfaction of getting a good time, the grapple-hook powerup, the mini challenges missions, and the basic principle that the higher you go in a level, the faster you'll complete it. All I'm saying is, if Sega were to make a 2D sonic game, they couldn't go wrong by taking a leaf out of Action Henk's book.
@DerMeister I've tried to get admitted but the staff are always like "it's not a real condition" Absolute rubbish if you ask me
@sub12 Definitely. Broforce isn't on-par with the 90s run and gun classics, but it's done a really good job at reviving the genre, yet putting an interesting twist on it.
@Dan_ozzzy189 You're right - I might've worded it wrong in the article.
@JaxonH What I love about them is how varied they can get - there's always an indie game for someone, even in the most obscure genres
@goonow The game's been patched recently, so it might start working for you now. It's a annoying how the game launched with those problems, but credit to the developers for getting a patch out so fast.
@add86 I imagine so - we try to review every PlayStation game we get a hand on, so I'm sure that AAC won't be any different. We'll try our best.
@Rapid I actually voted for Action Henk, but I'm glad that Broforce was picked considering the amount of fun I got from it. Still, Action Henk is awesome too, so I would've been happy if either game won!
@SonyInfinity That's fine, you can just wait until it releases next year. It's a long time, but at least it's an option, though I doubt this release type will catch on. Still, I'm not really a fan of it, as it requires a lot of waiting and breaks my hype up for the game, but at least it's a really good game! I like your idea about episodic schedules too - Life Is Strange is a game that had a problem with release quite a lot.
@Churchy This is probably why, since Square really haven't had that many big-hitters in the last year or so. Bit of a shame, though.
@AXEL314 No problem! If you're a fan of Blood Money like I was, then this is perfect for you!
@thatguyEZ If you can wait, then you might as well - better to make sure that the entire game is good then to spend money on it before realising it isn't good value!
@themcnoisy It plays very differently to MGS V, but if you're a bit sick of stealth then I'd wait for physical release/full release in the meantime
I reckon a platinum will come out when the whole game releases, but this is still annoying. I don't get why they have to be inconsistent, surely there are measures that can be put in place.
@Dodoo @DerMeister @PlaytendoGuy You will have to wait a year, but there's plenty of games launching in the meantime - there's no rush, might as well make sure the entire game is good!
@sub12 One the one hand I agree with you, but then again it allows players to pick and choose which packs they want - if there's one that's particularly bad, then they can miss ist out and get a better pack instead. Still, I imagine this release type should stay in the minority for most AAA games.
@Nirogol That's a good idea - for now, though, @AlexStinton is doing a stream 9pm GMT if you want to see some more gameplay.
@kyleforrester87 @Draythedestroyer It's good to see developers experimenting with different release types - this one is quite good value to me, considering you can pick and choose what you want.
@Quintumply Thanks! I'd probably wait to get it on disc if all turns out well, but if not then you can always pick and choose the better episodes digitally.
If anyone has any more questions then I'll be checking the comments intermittently. If you want to see more gameplay and/or get a different viewpoint, @AlexStinton is doing a stream at 9pm GMT tonight.

Re: Rocket League to Receive Paid Crate System
@get2sammyb I reckon the incentive will be exclusive items, just like @LieutenantFatman said. Still, I won't bother paying for them.
As for the avatar, the moment I saw that Kolo left I had no choice but to put it on. Truly the saddest day in LFC history.

Re: Feature: All the E3 2016 Press Conferences Rated and Reviewed
@themcnoisy Agreed, plus Aisha Tyler is a great host!
Re: Talking Point: Did EA's E3 2016 Press Conference Entertain You?
Absolutely awful. The only real thing they announced was a Titanfall 2 release date, and that's about it. Surely they've lost E3 already
Re: Review: Hitman: Episode 3 - Marrakesh (PS4)
@themcnoisy He really should lol
@NAZA187 The best way (I think) is to nab an invite to the exclusive club and steal the cameraman's uniform. I'll let you figure it out from there
Re: Review: Dangerous Golf (PS4)
Glad to hear this is good, might pick it up!
Re: Talking Point: Are Indie Devs Bringing Back the Budget Boxed Game?
Why the hell not. Making physical editions of their games gives them a bit of publicity in game shops, so it's a good way to gain exposure - plus it gives an incentive for collectors and fans of the game
Re: Star Wars Battlefront Sequel Soaring to PS4 from a Galaxy Far, Far Away
@Tasuki You're goddamn right!

Pretty predictable to be honest, Activision flooded the market with one genre and I doubt that's ever worked in the long run

Re: Naughty Dog Discusses the Growing Pains That Shaped Uncharted 4
I remember when I first played Drake's Fortune round my friends at the start of middle school once he bought a PS3. Can't believe it's been this long since the original came out
Re: A New Oddworld Game Is Set to Reimagine Abe in 2017
@Sanquine I think it's a lot better in 2D in my opinion - there are certain franchises that are much better in 2D than 3D, not only Oddworld, but also Sonic and other series
Re: A New Oddworld Game Is Set to Reimagine Abe in 2017
I really hope this is being developed by the same people that did New N' Tasty, because that game was awesome. I still trust Oddworld Inhabitants though
Re: Star Wars' Daisy Ridley in the Frame to Play Lara Croft?
I can see this being pretty good. I've heard a lot of people complain that she doesn't have the.... assets of Lara Croft (which is just a stupid complaint if you ask me) but I think she'd be a good Lara - she has an absurdly British accent, for one
Re: Psyonix Teases Basketball Mode for Rocket League
@themcnoisy I hope so! Aerial shots/flying is the one thing that I've never been any good at, so I'll be getting some practice in for this mode.
@JaxonH It's called Snow Day - it's a non-ranked playlist, but you can also play it in Exhibition mode and private games
Re: Soapbox: Why Action Henk and Broforce Have Me Hooked
@Dan_ozzzy189 You're right - I might've worded it wrong in the article.
Re: Soapbox: Why Action Henk and Broforce Have Me Hooked
@JoeBlogs Thanks! Saw Spider-Man 3 again the other day and I completely forgot how cringe-worthy some of the evil sequences were
Re: Soapbox: Why Action Henk and Broforce Have Me Hooked
@JoeBlogs It doesn't play like Mario at all - it's momentum-based, and way quicker than any Mario game
Re: Review: Hitman: Intro Pack (PS4)
Re: Soapbox: Why Action Henk and Broforce Have Me Hooked
If anyone has any questions about either game, just ask! I'll be checking the comments periodically tonight
Re: Review: Hitman: Intro Pack (PS4)
@fybyfyby Exactly. There are still options, it's not forcing you into buying it episodically. It gives you more options
@andreoni79 At least there are plenty of games to tide us over until then!
Re: There's an Uncharted 4 GIF That People Are Going Gaga Over
I can't believe they hand-animated that. Naughty Dog must have some of the best animators in the industry
Re: Hitman PS4 Plops Platinum Trophy in a Nearby Port-a-Potty
I reckon a platinum will come out when the whole game releases, but this is still annoying. I don't get why they have to be inconsistent, surely there are measures that can be put in place.
Re: Review: Hitman: Intro Pack (PS4)
