Mainly in it for the excitement of VR, so here are my VR predictions... Ace combat 8 announced for flat plus entirely playable in VR. Half life Alyx, although I feel this might be a summer game fest announcement. Wolverine if shown which I doubt will be playable in VR. Borderlands 3 announced for VR.
And finally Skyrim updated for psvr2, okay perhaps that is being too unrealistic.
@tselliot This is why the only way forward for VR is what has been called hybrid games, games which are playable in flat and VR. For example Hitman 3, Dirt rally, Resident evil 7/8/4, gt7 etc.. Personally I really enjoy hybrid games and more of them will give me more faith in Sonys VR commitment, perhaps Wolverine could be hybrid or Last of Us could be modified (it has shown to work on PC with a mod).
I experienced this playing HZD around the time it was put on ps+. I also seem to remember it happening years ago but it is a very rare event, I guess the license query timed out or something like that.
Nice. Mainly interested to see what they have in store for VR2, hopefully Alyx and hybrid games. Fingers crossed for lots of "also playable in VR"
Plus it is time for a few vr1 ports, personally I think they should create a ps+ Vr collection which includes vr1 ports and make a commitment like adding one per quarter, this would bolster Vr sales...if indeed they are lacking.
As we have GT7 in VR, F1 isn't such a loss but this decision is still disappointing. I just hope the next rally game is supported on PS VR2, Dirt Rally VR was brilliant and was considerably easier for me than in flat mode. Wipeout was the same. If there isn't support for psvr2 in the next rally game then I shall be writing to my MP.
@Vacuumator It is solo only, no support for coop. I'm playing with the Moves as I don't have an Aim controller, it works very well with the Moves...minimal issues. I have heard the Aim support is very good as well. I am using the dual shock to drive though and the game handles the use of using different controllers with no issues at all.
Playing Borderlands 2 VR, I put off buying it for so long because of reported issues but I'm not experiencing those. All in all a great port and lots of fun. Also Ghostwire Tokyo and perhaps Grid Legends.
@Vacuumator I had no idea that Shadows of the damned was such a collectors item. I have a copy of that, I'm sure I only paid a few quid for it. The last PS3 game that I found out was worth something was 3D dot game heroes.
It would be interesting to see the sales drop as a percentage for both US and UK/EU because whilst in America the price 'only' went up by $10 in the U.K./EU they seemed to jump £20/€20 (not sure exactly about the EU as I'm in the U.K. but that what comments on forum would have me believe). However tbh we all seem to have massive backlogs so the waiting game is easier these days. 😜
Brad and Bobby have both seemed to be a bit irrational and unstable during this whole affair and to think I thought the crazy Takes would come from their rabid YouTube fanbase. Where is Phil in all of this? Clearly locked away from the media for fear of saying something really crazy?! 😂
@colonelkilgore Indeed, negativity gets the clicks. When the original Bloomberg estimate was released I didn't think 270k was too bad, i reckon it amounts to roughly 1% of the PS5 user base. I'm sure there was a much larger PS4 user base when the original psvr unit was released which makes the 270k even more impressive imo.
@Wheatly I actually think that support for psvr 1 was pretty good and didn't "dry up". Even in the year of the psvr2 announcement (2021) we got Hitman 3 , Moss 2,Wanderer and Doom 3 all of which I'm sure were paid for in some way by Sony. Saints and sinner 2 is even releasing soon as well.
These Pro models make these discussions much more complicated, less us hope the PS5 Pro doesn't happen (I'm of the opinion it won't but I have been wrong before).
@Jaz007 The Psvr aspect is what saddens me the most about Bethesda as they were quite a prolific Vr developer. Also a big fan and supporter of Arkane and have played all their games in the PS3 and on generations (platted them all).
Oh well there are more games than ever these days and my backlog is massive so I won't be losing too much sleep, except for those Vr titles. Imagine Starfield in Vr, assuming they could get the fps high enough. 🤔 As for Activision, $69b and Xbox gamers won't be getting any more titles than they wouldn't have gotten anyway. If I was on team green that would really grind my gears. 😂
What a shame, imo they have just lost their uniqueness. Of course I could be wrong and this is better than Moss, unlikely as that may seem. Everyone seems to be chasing that multiplayer dream which can result in failure, even more so in the VR space imo.
@lindos A couple of youtubers, Beardo Banjo and Gamertag VR. I haven't seen any other reviews so it is quite a small sample.
@thefourfoldroot1 if you upgrade by the fee or by buying the Tourist edition upgrade then getting it for free would remove the PS+ licence. I don't know for sure so could be wrong.
Nice review and I'm hearing good things about how well the psvr2 runs compared to high end PCs, bodes well for PSVR2 going forward. (Assumption, one swallow doesn't make a summer and all that).
@StylesT I would suggest getting the bundle (£17 more or a £10ish upgrade if you have PS+ version, free if you have tourist edition) and play the first one. Nb. I've yet to play SandS 2 but the story continues.
I almost managed to obtain the Rush of blood platinum, just a couple of trophies short. The permadeath trophy is BS. I did enjoy hunting all the skittles though, a great game and I hope they remaster it (the lack of Sony remasters is seriously depressing).
@gaia093 I recently completed Ghost of a tale and it wasn't too bad, there are a few missables but just read a guide and it won't be an issue. However you do need to avoid being hit or seen but once you get a certain item the seen aspect goes mostly out of the window. I recommend the game, if that means anything. 😂
I'm playing Outriders on PS++, it is surprisingly good.
@dschons A Resistance trilogy on PSVR2 (& flat) would be great. Imagine ducking from the land mines, or popping behind a shield and the awesomeness of the X-ray gun. So good and I can't believe they haven't done it as it would surely sell well, I do wonder at Sony sometimes. Also do Killzone and Motorstorm while they are at it.
Nice. Being able to find which friends own a game is very helpful. I notice sorting of trophy list is still missing which is a little annoying, quite bizarre why this hasn't been implemented (PS3 and Vita both did it). Oh well psnprofiles still has its uses then. 😃
@NEStalgia The biggest negative for this game is the developer with it being always online. Swords of G didn't last long before the Devs pulled the plug rendering the game unplayable. What made it more annoying is that it took ages after the shutdown announcement and the removal of it from the psn store. Always online sucks.
@riceNpea Well I waited for re8 and I love the resident evil series but after playing re7 (first playthrough) I just knew I had to wait. Gt7 is something I would play in Vr but I'm a bit meh about it flat but tbh that goes for all racing games flat after playing Vr wipeout and dirt rally. (Sony give us Motorstorm trilogy vr). So yeah I am definitely someone who waits even if they would play the game flat but them again I am odd so perhaps it is a rarity.
Nice especially as I liked the look of the flat version. You have to wonder what VR does to day one sales as I'm delaying purchase of Gt7, Re8, re4 and now Tin hearts until I get a headset. This also applies to some "mmm I can see Vr happening" titles like Atomic hearts for example (and gt7,re8 in the past as those were obvious Vr titles). But I guess Vr is so niche at the moment that it probably doesn't factor into the sales figures.
Ignore previous comment as I just googled it and wasn't aware it was shown at 2am. Still not staying up till that time. 😂 The bit about spoilers remains though, sort yourself out PushSq.
Jesus, this site and the spoilers. This has yet to be show in this country (U.K.) and one has to ask how PushSq, a U.K. Website is even watching it. If Liam knows then please inform us so we can avoid further spoilers. thank you.
Looking forward to this as the first one was brilliant, yes it is more of the same but the title 'chapter 2' implies that. Also this is coming to psvr1 in April and I expect it to be a bit better than the Quest version. And don't forget kids that the first one gets a free upgrade next month, even the PS+.
Good price on Sniper elite 4 content. Season pass is £4.34 @colonelkilgore Were you after this? Sniper elite dlc is generally pretty good and this was no exception.
Gotta love the pie chart that they have brought out on stage, "wah wah look how pathetic we are, you just gotta give us Activision". Not to mention the lame Union tweet and Nintendo deal, talk about dragging out the desperate measures to the 11th hour.
However I'm Quite surprised Value is behind the deal though because Shirley they would lose a big chunk of change if CoD and Diablo went into PC GP.
@NEStalgia When I finally give in and purchase Psvr2 then I will certainly give gyro a go, a wheel is just too much of an investment plus the amount of room is requires is just too much of a headache for me. I seem to do fine with the controller, even managed to platinum Dirt Rally, only in VR though as I don't seem to be very good when playing flat and that goes double for Wipeout, despite playing the game since the ps1 days it was only in VR that I managed to be any good at it.
