Re: PS Plus Extra, Premium List Games Leaving Soon, Shadow Warrior 3 Gone on 5th July

Dezzy70

@nomither6
Had a GameCube day one with Luigi Mansion, great console.
For me the Switch is great but since the great release games the first year, for me has lacked those big massive AAA Nintendo in house studios games.
No new real AAA platformers since Mario Odyssey apart from add on Bowser Fury.
That is bad after 5 years. Not like they are programme a top end console with massive graphical abilities. Also they have no separate hand held console to programme for now either.

@ThatMusicFan
Totally agree on the Xbox front.
Will give credit where it is due with AAA titles like Forza horizon 5 and probably Forza motor sport next year.
But outside of those two games I can’t see an Xbox studio getting close to say the AAA of HFW, which I’m playing right now and say last of us, god of war etc etc.
Their studios either don’t have the talent or are not managed correctly or told not to produce such outstanding quality AAA games, due to cost and putting them on game pass.

Re: PS Plus Extra, Premium List Games Leaving Soon, Shadow Warrior 3 Gone on 5th July

Dezzy70

@render
I know what you mean, but all this other old stuff etc I mentioned is making them drag a bit, especially 2 years this November.
By the way I mean all consoles the Xbox series lot as well and many third party developers doing remakes and remasters.
I remember going for the SNES to N64 with Mario 64 what a difference in generations and usage of the N64 power with a first game release on the day of the console. Same with Wave Racer.

Re: PS Plus Extra, Premium List Games Leaving Soon, Shadow Warrior 3 Gone on 5th July

Dezzy70

Those that disagree with my comment above about new consoles new games made for the new consoles.
Take a look this generation, 2 years this November 2022 and not a single game on any of them that shouts new generation. Even R&C can be done on PS4, DF proved that in a way.

This generation so focused on old games, backwards compatibility, remasters and remakes and services.
Almost make our £450 new machines redundant with the power they have and what they can really achieve.

Re: PS Plus Extra, Premium List Games Leaving Soon, Shadow Warrior 3 Gone on 5th July

Dezzy70

What a load of ball gaming has becoming.
Bring back the old days.
You got a new generation console you got games made just for that generation, you played those games and just moved on.
All this backwards compatibility and service stuff has just taken resources away from making new games for a new generation and created distractions from giving us all new games for new a generation of consoles.

Let’s go back in time when it was done properly.
New console, new games.

Re: May 2022 NPD: PS5 Stock Issues Put Sony Back in Last

Dezzy70

@UltimateOtaku91
I thought it was could not remember.
Might be top in June as well in the UK as stock as been fairly good.
As for series s and also now x, easy to get both in the UK, you can just walk in and get one now.
So supply has might demand there.

Re: Poll: Will You Buy The Last of Us: Part I?

Dezzy70

@MakersMark
Unfortunately it seems the same across the whole of this generation of new consoles to some degree currently.
I think apart from third party games you just have to go with what console suits yourself and or family for the the games you like that might be exclusive.
Then you have the Switch with its collection of exclusive Nintendo games as well.
In the end you could end up with all three main consoles 😂

Re: Poll: Will You Buy The Last of Us: Part I?

Dezzy70

@Flaming_Kaiser
Wow just went to sports direct UK that have Game UK inside the shop and by a little miracle picked up PS5 Disc Edition solo no bundles. £449.99
Got the last remaining one.
Someone I know will be very happy 😃

Re: Poll: Will You Buy The Last of Us: Part I?

Dezzy70

No played it loved it, new games please.
Welcome to the new generation nearly 2 years in.
Old backwards compatibility games.
Old games remade etc.
Mainly cross generation games.
£450 for a quarter new generation, this includes the other side as well.

Re: God of War Ragnarok PS5, PS4 Release Date Targeting November

Dezzy70

@get2sammyb
I would probably not release it unless I needed the cash injection from the game.
I’m selling every PS5 I can make, though it has slowed a little in the UK, those nasty big bundles the shops sell to make extra money sell a lot slower now than they used.
Probably because the weather is getting better and the cost of living is going through the roof.
Will be interesting to see what they do.

Re: God of War Ragnarok PS5, PS4 Release Date Targeting November

Dezzy70

@Cikajovazmaj
If you have a had PS5 and every Playstation console since day one like myself. Then they have not released that many big AAA games this year, so you have a point they may want to release this year.
I don’t need the uncharted collection, I don’t need last of us 1 remakes etc. I played and loved them first time round.

Re: God of War Ragnarok PS5, PS4 Release Date Targeting November

Dezzy70

Will be very interesting to see even if ready to release this November 2022 if Sony hold it off to say March 2023. It may make good business sense and start 2023 with a massive AAA game to propel PS5 even more early next year.
The competition main games are now 2023 at some point. BOTW2 and Starfield.

PS5 sells very easy if there is stock, so GOW2 won’t help sell PS5, as Demand will still out strip supply this Christmas regardless if GOW2 releases or not.

Delaying will also mean more PS5 consoles sold so a higher attachment software rate.

That my business sense idea anyway.

Re: Gallery: Spot the Difference in The Last of Us: Part I PS5 Screenshots

Dezzy70

@Titntin
interesting point about letting go of old ideas and moving forward.
Because I actually have Game Pass and yes it definitely could do with some more new AAA ip but I think that will come with all the studios attached to Xbox now.
And yes I like cloud streaming, just wish my internet was better so I could quickly try a game through cloud and if I like download the game.
So I like these new moves, but would enjoy more new top end games as I really enjoy new big AAA experiences. I think development is taking longer now a days, and I wrote a piece blaming working from home had not helped this, as I deal with WFH in my industry and it is a pain being honest.
Yes during covid it was essential but now it’s used because the employee prefers to be at home for many reasons that to me are not beneficial for productiveness. I have witnessed this and have shown this with data, especially when it comes to communication and sometimes output.
Everything just lacks and takes longer and I guess WFH in the game development businesses suffers the same.

Re: Gallery: Spot the Difference in The Last of Us: Part I PS5 Screenshots

Dezzy70

@Titntin
I guess I come from an era that when you got new generations of consoles you basically got all new games.
Say like the SNES to N64 with Mario 64 etc.
Yes new versions of old games came out like a new Yoshi island 2 but it was a new game.

We currently seem to be soaking up developers resources on backwards compatibility and remasters and remakes.

I prefer the old days, new generation, lots of new games.

Re: Gallery: Spot the Difference in The Last of Us: Part I PS5 Screenshots

Dezzy70

It only naughty dog but a lot of developers/studios are using valuable resource doing the remakes/remasters instead of focusing on new games.
Seems to be the trend and to me a waste of time
As I played the originals on the original consoles.

I bet Sunday with Xbox we will get a goldeneye remaster and gears of war collection of remakes/remasters.

Why can’t studios just put all resources onto new AAA new generation gaming development.
It’s not surprising we get new game delays with resources spread to thinly.

Re: Soapbox: I Really Miss E3

Dezzy70

I’ve grown up on E3 through the generations and the Europe show. Miss them badly, the good old days.
Also everything seemed more honest and up front in those days.

Re: State of Play Showcase for Thursday Confirmed, PSVR2 Games Included

Dezzy70

@get2sammyb
Perhaps they do and all of the manufacturers just do what they do regardless of what each other do.
Then again Sony are only doing all this PS PLUS extra stuff because Xbox kicked it all of with game pass, that is so obvious.
Sony don’t spend or do unless they have to, they have that approach in the tv market as well.

Re: State of Play Showcase for Thursday Confirmed, PSVR2 Games Included

Dezzy70

Keeping expectations low, as doesn’t mention
First part studios ie GOW etc.
Thinking some PSVR2 stuff and few third party announcements, like they have said.
Always used to love the big live shows a few years ago, when Sony would surprise at the end with a big first party studio game. ie Uncharted 4 etc.
Those were the great live audience show days.

Re: PS5 Supply Issues a 'Top Priority' for Sony as It Aims to Overtake PS4 Again in 2024

Dezzy70

Also Sony has very stiff competition in the UK
It’s one those countries currently that has a very spread user base of consoles and sometime multiple console owners.
All three have to fight for sales really.
You have both the Nintendo and Xbox fans and gamers in the UK. It really is a mixed nation of console users at the moment.
In the UK I would guess obviously the Switch is leading, then probably PS5 but Xbox close behind or very close and gaining momentum. Not sure how with no real new games and game delays, guess it must be the appeal of game pass and also the cheaper series s, especially with the cost of living at the moment and prices going up.

Re: PS5 Supply Issues a 'Top Priority' for Sony as It Aims to Overtake PS4 Again in 2024

Dezzy70

We have had amazing stock in the UK all this week
With still some naughty big bundles for sale right now and the HFW consoles still about for sale, though not many.
I think the mad panic to get one or the FOMO
is slightly reducing, also scalpers are reducing and even shops like CEX only give £410 for the disc console so no profit to be mad there.
Also the summer is coming which is usually low for console sales and maybe the cost of living as well.
Also maybe no new release dates announced for new games, though PS5 does have a fantastic line up of games available already if you new to the console.
