Re: Cyberpunk 2077 on PS4 Is Being Slaughtered By Metacritic Users

Eadgar

We should all wait for the dedicated PS5 version. A real shame, but they should of canceled the console versions (pre-PS5) and focused on the PC version.

Of course that is a ludicrous statement I have made since they would be neglecting a gigantic user install base but, I feel the game would of been better for it.

Re: Rumour: PS5 Shooter Returnal May Be Launching 19th March

Eadgar

I am currently playing Matterfall on my PS4 Pro, made by the same development team. It is really fun. I am just ashamed I did not buy it when it was originally released to make sure the developers received the message that there is definitely a market out there for games like Matterfall.

I also have Nex Macchina but have yet to play it. But I will after Matterfall.

I definitely want to support this development studio with Returnal but I have no PS5, and do not plan on getting one until late 2021 or the year 2022. Hoping the games does well for them.

Re: Soapbox: PS5 Is Pushing Me Ever Closer to All-Digital

Eadgar

Same for me. When I buy a PS5, I will buy a disc-based PS5, just to play my entire PS4 library, which is primarily physical. I would say my entire PS4 library is 98% physical, bar a few games, and have well over 50 PS4 games.

But I plan on transitioning to digital with the PS5. We shall see how things go in a few years.

Re: The Nioh Collection Remasters Both Games for PS5, Coming February 2021

Eadgar

Nioh is my favorite experience from the PlayStation IV era. This was the game that helped me understand the "souls' genre, and I have been addicted to it since.

I also own Nioh II since launch and still have it sealed because I am trying to cut down my backlog, so I have yet to play it.

Great time to experience these games for those who have yet to experience them, I highly recommend them.

The combat system is superior to any of the pioneering Souls games, since it is faster and more intuitive, at least in my honest opinion.

Re: Rumour: PS5's Deathloop Starts Over on 21st May

Eadgar

My favorite studio from Bethesda, love the Dishonored franchise, it is bloody brilliant.

It is a well known as sad fact that a lot of Arkane games were critical successes, but not commercial successes unfortunately. Which is a shame since a lot of gamers are missing out on some gems.

I am definitely looking forward to this one since like was said in the article, could be the swan song for the studio on Sony platforms. I will wish them well, however.

Re: Sony Considered Raising PS5 Game Prices Beyond $70, Says New Report

Eadgar

Definitely a sensitive subject, especially while reading the comments. People are not happy and I definitely understand, more important things in life that £70 can buy. I will refrain from commenting myself and just say I will reluctantly accept this for now as see how it goes but I, like many, do have my limits.

Re: Poll: What PS5 Launch Games Will You Buy?

Eadgar

Not getting a PS5 at launch unfortunately, but if I were, I would of bought Demon's Souls, Godfall, and Destruction All-Stars (to support the Liverpool and UK based developer), but since that will be free come February, Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition will take its place.

Have fun to everyone lucky and fortunate enough to enjoy the console in launch. Enjoy.

Re: Goal Machine Robert Lewandowski Has a PS5, Maybe

Eadgar

Great player. Also seems very humble. Would of loved to have seen him in Liverpool red but I am glad he has had a great career in the Bundesliga (which is my second favorite league to follow after the Premier League).

All the best for the PS5 in its early years as well as for its early adopters.

Re: Ubisoft Connect Detailed, Replaces Ubisoft Club, Uplay, and Other Services

Eadgar

Never have tried this Ubi "ecosystem," nor have I ever tried the EA "ecosystem." But this certainly intrigues me from the standpoint of if, and when, more third party publishers will do these "ecosystem" type maneuvers. I can name a few publishers that have the history, catalog, and name recognition, to intent and make an "ecosystem" of their own. The future of gaming is going to be intriguing.

Re: Have a Gander at the New PS Store for Web Browsers

Eadgar

@MarcG420 Yes, I know that and in the grand scheme of things it is no big deal. It is just that the vast majority of the time the PS3 store frezzes. Not sure if it is just me with the problem but I do not think I am. It was far easier and simpler to buy games or dlc from the web, which is what I would do.

I do disagree with your second point however. I do not think Sony should ever shut down the PS3 store. People still play on said console and will continue to do so for the immediate future, particularly those without the means to upgrade or those in countries where the cost to upgrade is too steep. I do not think it is hard for Sony to maintain the PS3 store front. So a complete shutdown of it should never be in question.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 346

Eadgar

@KingPev Really enjoying it. I love the series, the first two were great games, in the action-adventure genre. I was expecting Darksiders III to be similar, but was unexpectedly surprised to be playing a Souls-like game.

The whole series is amazing and unfortunately overlooked. They should receive more praise.

Will try Darksiders Genesis once I am done with III.

Re: Final Fantasy 14 Will Be Playable on PS5 via Backwards Compatibility with Performance Improvements

Eadgar

@jimmydx Thanks for the information. I went to the Square Enix store and bought the so-called complete edition. It was advertised as perfect for people starting the game since it includes all expansions (at least the ones released up until today I presume).

Now I will upgrade by internet connection a bit, and start playing it on my PS4 Pro before eventually transitioning to the PS5 when I get it in the future.

Re: Final Fantasy 14 Will Be Playable on PS5 via Backwards Compatibility with Performance Improvements

Eadgar

I have been wondering if it was too late to get into this game. Is the community still active? Will Square Enix continue to support it, etc.? Have heard great things about it but I hardly play MMO's but like many, I love the Final Fantasy franchise.

With this news, I am happy to say a copy of this will now be sold. My only question is, which one do I get? There seems to be quite a few releases. Time to do some investigating.

Re: Godfall's Cinematic Opening Is Way More Hype Than We Expected

Eadgar

I am really looking forward to this game. If I was able to secure a launch PS5, this and Demon's Souls were going to be my game purchases but alas, it was not meant to be.

I hope it does well and meets or surpasses people's expectations because I know there are some who are still not entirely convinced about the game. Good luck to it.

Re: Yakuza: Like a Dragon PS5 Version Coming March 2021, Free Upgrade Confirmed

Eadgar

@Justifier Very good point I had not thought about it that way.

I guess the point I was trying to make, or at least wanted to make, was that publishers/developers should know where their audience is. But if you are trying to make a point of at least transition said audience, the start of a new console generation is definitely the time to do it.

Re: Soapbox: The Week After PS5's Showcase, Sony Told Us Nothing About Its Next-Gen Console

Eadgar

@S1ayeR74 Thanks for the response.

I meant to say Microsoft has as of yet shown actual gameplay running on an Xbox Series X. I know they demonstrated Halo, but it was running on a PC if I remember correctly (feel free to correct me if I am wrong).

Sony on the other hand has demonstrated actual gameplay running on PS5, which to me is much more important than showing UI features, etc.

Re: Maybe Don't Get Your Hopes Up for Future Bethesda Games on PS5

Eadgar

@BAMozzy "You know if Sony bought Bethesda, there wouldn't be any discussion about games releasing on Xbox..."

Absolutely agree with these sentiments of yours. People just need to accept this business transaction and move on. Microsoft is playing catch-up, so to speak, to Sony, so this was a business move to close the gap.

Also, regarding your Game Pass comments......I think game pass is obviously an incredible deal for gamers, there is no denying it. My question is in regards to developers. Do you think they make they best amount of money they can make by releasing the game on game pass?

I admit I still need more knowledge regarding this service, but I would always wonder, with the rise in game development, do developers really make the most money by investing in game pass, or releasing the game traditionally?

Re: Maybe Don't Get Your Hopes Up for Future Bethesda Games on PS5

Eadgar

I hope we can hear in the near future about what the studios think of this acquisition. I really wish Microsoft and Bethesda the very best in their new-found partnership, but I just wonder if the studios knew of this ahead of time and how they felt (I am sure they did).

For example, my favorite studio of that group is Arkane, because I love the Dishonored franchise. From certain interviews they seemed estatic, lively, to be able to work with the PS5 hardware. They praised it and Sony. Now with this acquisition they will probably not be able to work the the system again, which considering how amazing and talented they are to me, and as a future PS5 owner that I will be, it is really a sad outcome in a personal level. I would really like to hear their thoughts on the acquisition. Same with Shinji Mikami's studio, considering they will now develop for a console manufacturer that has never done well in his home territory (even though most of his games are indeed targeted for the western market).

Of course, I am sure they will do well with the Xbox Series X and I hope they are succesful. I am sure with Microsoft's backing they will continue to release more great games that do their talent justice.

Re: Maybe Don't Get Your Hopes Up for Future Bethesda Games on PS5

Eadgar

@AdamNovice I will agree with your point only and only if the PS5 is a resounding success on par with the PS4 and the Xbox Series X is not. Basically, if this upcoming gen is more of the same as this one we are currently in, with the PS4 obliterating the Xbox One, then I will agree with your point that they might come to PS5 for the simple fact that it would be stupid for both Microsoft and Bethesda to ignore the 4X larger playstation market compared to the Xbox market.

Of course, it all depends on how well the Xbox Series X does in the market. If it does well or it is closer in sales to the PS5, akin to the PS3 Xbox 360 gen, I do not think any Bethesda game will be playable on playstation.

Just my opinion.

Re: Maybe Don't Get Your Hopes Up for Future Bethesda Games on PS5

Eadgar

@Rash Not mediocre, I think some of them are great games (I love Dishonored for example) but I think most of them do not sell as well or as people think.

Dishonored 2,for example, did not do well sales wise, which hurt because the game is amazing. But Bethesda games do not sell like playstation studios games. For example, I do not think a Bethesda game sold 10 million this generation while playstation had quite a few who did. Of course if I am wrong please feel free to correct me. I do not have the numbers in front of me but I am going from memory of many articles I read in the past pointing to the fact.

Re: Maybe Don't Get Your Hopes Up for Future Bethesda Games on PS5

Eadgar

They will be exclusive to Xbox and rightfully so, as they are the proprietors of the studios. This is business, just like people celebrate PS exclusives people will now celebrate Xbox exclusives. We all need to accept that and not make a big fuss about it. It is business and I think in the near future more of these things are going to happen, it is going to get interesting.
