@Scootybby Because you lose 3 companions on the evil route and gained one. The point of the game is to choose and live with what happens. It’s the same reason you should not Halsin for the sake of “options” if you kill all druids. Different paths should lock things out.
This is horrible. Minthara is supposed to be an evil route boon and emending that is just penalizing the evil route, which has a lot going for it, but needs some definite work. Letting a good player have all the companions with no consequence is an awful idea. Good or evil, this game needs consequences and this is removing them in a shortsighted manner.
@rjejr in what way was FF16 not complete? It’s one of the most complete games this year, and really in general. The game would have been fine never getting an update after it launched.
@This_Guy Don't be sorry lol , I'm glad someone is waiting for patches instead of praising a dev for "great post-launch support" because they're getting around (at least starting to) adding the ending a game months after release. The QoL changes like the inventory and such are nice improvements post-launch, commendable for sure, but I've said my piece on other elements already. A definitive edition may be the key words you're looking for as far as the patches truly slowing down.
@CallMeDuraSouka This is because the ending was cut content and didn't reflect a single thing you did, companion quests were unfinished, act 3 seems off with the lack of somethings, has a quest that blatantly is missing it's end. The studio boasted about 17,000 variations of the ending while one of the two endings the game hypes for ages is a nonsensical 30 second cutscene, and the other isn't that much better. I'm not sure that ending will even be touched by this, but I hope it is. It totally railroads you at the end. I genuinely regret buying the game at launch as it was incomplete and sold on lies. It was an early access release at best that completely falls apart by the end. I cannot believe it got so many 10/10s.
The studio has a history of making definitive editions later on, and will probably do again, rewriting act 3 and making changes to the rest of the game is something they've done twice, I would wait for a long time to make sure they've updated the game before buying.
YES! They're actually adding in the ending to the game, it's still gonna need a lot more as act 3 is a slowly sinking ship that's not apparent at first, but is the titanic by end.
I want them to patch back in the ending to the game, no seriously, whatever it was supposed to be got cut and something very brief and shallow got added back in instead.
So many games could be shorter and better, or are just crafted differently, it doesn’t necessarily reflect cost to make or “value.” A crazy game might be 10H, but a longer game without the set pieces might also be there. It’s a dangerous philosophy to follow. God of War Ragnorok , despite high quality moments, is 7/10 max to me because a third to half of the game is eating my time to have the good moments, or something decent takes much longer than it should. Because of that, it failed to meaningfully take any of the first game’s main issues and addressed more shallow ones I don’t even notice instead.
@Deljo They made a product deadline which was unfeasible from the get go. They changed their minds far too late, and the product quality suffered too. This was poorly managed. There’s a huge difference between not being strictly 9-5 and changing your mind on a project very late.
@czDante92 Not to mention it's kind of flimsy, a series about blending in, so you find the most conspicuous character ever to use? He automatically breaks one of the tenants of the Creed through no fault of his own basically. It's also not even him, it's someone "based on him". Why not just have a Japanese Samurai? It's like finding that one Irish guy in Africa and having a flaming redhead be what you play as for a game about African tribes, citing that one incident. It's insane. It also is insanely inaccurate still. I don't care if one existed, playing as Carrot Top in that setting would be stupid and we all know it.
I think more scripting is good so it’s not James Bond Hitman edition. I want to play as Daniel Craig. I don’t think that’ll happen though.
Also, we need Hitman 3 in PSVR2. I’m surprised we haven’t gotten and I hope Sony wasn’t so soghtshroter as to only hire them for a PSVR1 version. It would be an insane showcase for the PSVR2.
If they ask this to get taken down, they should fight it under parody laws. This is hilarious, and I’m not a lawyer, but I do have a feeling that this is definitely a parody that’s protected under parody laws.
@Bentleyma That’s just because of rights, Quantam Break(owned by MS) also gets referenced in Alan Wake 2. All of them are there, some just not in an “official capacity”.
@Bentleyma They already did. Max Payne is in Alan Wake 2, his voice and face are there, it's just a different name because Rockstar has the rights, but almost all Remedy games take place in one universe.
It looks kinda neat, but could be better. This should have only focused on Ezio, and should especially not have a random fantasy spartan mercenary. I have heard good things though, and I hope it comes to PSVR2. Sony needs to get deals like so the games can't even run on a quest in the first place.
It sounds like it'll be good after some patches. That statement is too common, but we once did just have to deal with bugs like this forever, so it's a double edged sword.
Good news, but I’m worried the PS5 version will stabilize the framerate I can’t wait for next gen only EDF to come up with new ways to wreck the framerate.
@Triumph741 The formula of being an assassin never got old. It just needs to have good core mechanics behind it. With the shaky RPG foundation, yet good ideas and passion the devs brought, I’m glad it’s a smaller game; but I’ll happily take a Unity sized game for full price I’ll play for ages if I can get an improved Unity foundation.
Good. The game has a lot of good idea, but Is built on a shaky framework. Bring back Unity’s framework and ambition, and you’ve got something truly amazing. Unity is still such an impressive game due to its ambition. We haven’t had it’s open world (in certain ways) or parkour matched since.
@gaston I promise you the people who say they don't care about the haptics also complain about feedback for damage in a bunch of VR games. Headset haptics is easily the best solution to that issue. I don't think there's a better one.
@gaston And the headset rumbling is heavily underrated. The fact that it communicates taking damage when it's hard to know otherwise alone makes many games so much better. I was just playing After the Fall with a friend last night and he found it hard to know when he was getting hit and to react on PCVR, but I knew immediately and instinctively because of the rumble in the headset.
@Deityjester I’ve played over 100H of Unity, started playing it a few months after launch when it had been patched, and have been telling everyone Unity has the best parkour and is the best AC game in the series since then. It works very well and functions better the rest of the series making it much more fluid by letting you go diagonally and down,, and certainly Mirage, which while I’m enjoying, is built on a shaker groundwork from Valhalla. Unity is now getting the respect it deserves and I’ve been pushing for.
@Deityjester It's not enough like the old games without low/high profile and lacking all of the advancements (like with parkour) and ambition that Unity had. I really like some things they've done like the notoriety system, but some of it feels like it got build on a shaky RPG trilogy groundwork instead of going back and building off of Unity. The game should also have too much going on in order to work on a PS4. This is a step in the right direction and an infinitely better Assassin's Creed game than the past three games that just spit on the franchise and mocked it by throwing the entire identity of the series, but it's still not good enough and doesn't meet prior standards set by the series to be truly lauded as great from what I've played of it.
@Nexozi The problems lie more in the fact that it doesn't have low/high profile and isn't half as ambitious a game as Unity was. I'm feeling very divided about Mirage so far.
It sounds like Bungie messed everything up. They could have had a game that would make some money, but because Bungie didn't think it would make Destiny money, they said it wasn't good, and now Sony is just in a bad spot. Now, I could just be ignorant, but ND has made enough MP that's been well received in the past. I think the always-updating live-service model is the problem. Games used to just come with a MP mode and that was fine. We should have some of that again. MP games don't always need to be updated forever. One good launch or a few updates similar to a couple map packs can be just fine.
@Shepherd_Tallon Ah, I see. I suppose I see a difference in Matrix Online and Gran Turismo. GT has a long history that shows online is great but not needed, the game could be fine with some offline saving. The Matrix Online is an MMO based entirely on being online in much more core ways. I think certain games have a much more open and practical offering of being online and gone one day, but those are very specific. I understand say, Zenith VR (a VR MMO I quite like) disappearing one day, but would begrudge Hitman 3 if it didn’t get offline saves one day. In principle it’s not always wrong, but this doesn’t meet that in practice.
@Shepherd_Tallon Sony shuts down stuff way sooner than anyone else, and this game should be getting offline saves before it gets shut down. Ubisoft has recently started to shut down PS3 games, PS3. Sony should be meeting that standard.
This deserves an uproar. If anyone wants to play the game on occasion, it’s a problem.
@naruball Plus they also felt personable and had a great stage presence. Passion can drive these people, and that passion can go beyond just money. It's very popular to completely cynical, but while there is a lot of truth to it, it does not define everything and doesn't reflect reality.
@wiiware Ah yes, because there have been good silent movies I suppose movies don’t need actors who speak either, or books that have good stories, they don’t need voice actors either. Yes, of course there have been good stories without VAs, but to say that the entirety of many games with their stories we have now wouldn’t be kinda ruined without voice acting or not hit half as hard would be disingenuous as the most charitable interpretation.
That's disappointing for me. On it's face, the Callisto Protocol is a good game and a good choice, but it's also something I own it and I don't care about farming simulator.
@Kidfried It's because people are bitter and jealous unfortunately. They see someone with a job and paycheck he/she wishes he/she had, and so it's decided it's not a real job anymore and doesn't deserve anything more since it already has more relatively. It doesn't matter how risky the vocation is or how possible it is for your career to end because you can't find your next gig.
@BrockSmith You should have started off with that. Some of the demands from what I know seem reasonable, but that's a much better argument than "moneybags" and doesn't just make you look petty. You have some good points in your second post.
