Great news. I bought it the moment it hit brick and mortar stores, and I am glad I did. Hitman 3 is coming next month, and I can’t wait for it. Third party support is good, Somy just needs to support more themselves.
Vuelgaurd is not a great game, it’s cringe that wrecked the Dragon Age name. It’s tanking this month’s game selection too. We don’t want your failure nobody wanted to play.
Overpriced and nickel and diming. I hope it fails to send Sony a message to stop being so cheap and charging for not only a disc drive, but a stand on a $700 console. Insane.
@Skorge1091 It’s gotten so much worse, but they had a good starting point so they’ve been able to coast to some extent. They’re count totally need correction too. This gen has not been as good from Sony as the last two for sure.
It a sign of the times of bad Xbox management. Xbox management has completely failed at making good exclusives to draw people to Xbox. The buyouts were bad ideas and didn’t go as hoped. It’s a sign of disaster, and while Halo on PS is fun, it’s ultimately gonna be bad for the industry and having good competition for Sony.
It has poorer critic ratings than normal, much lower, and has a 51% positive review rate on Steam. Civ 7's launch is an absolute disaster. I already decided I wasn't interested, but it's launch is much worse than I expected.
It’s even worse because something like Crunchyroll still works fine outside of the maintenance message popping up every two seconds making it impossible to watch anything despite the streaming being fine.
The average is 78 on PC right now. This is actually very low for a Civ game which usually gets 90 and above. This is likely a drop in quality and many of the changes they are making seem bad. I stopped looking forward to Civ 7 a while ago. Give me Civ 8 where I can play as the Roman Empire the entire game.
Sad to see Civ fall, but I’m not surprised at all since I’ve followed some of the news for it.
I think Helldivers 3 would be better actually. Get premium sales again and we eventually get a close to the galactic war and then a new one. I’d rather pay $70 on the PS6 than have more MTs put in the game:
@get2sammyb People do buy them, they just aren’t as big potentially as the online games. They also get cancelled less and don’t result in giant concord losses. They’re less risky than these games. We need more games that aren’t built on giant budget like we used to have.
What is Sony supposed to do? Barely make any games because live service ends up as a disaster and SP apparently doesn’t sell?
@tameshiyaku I’m pretty sure the attack rate is very high. A game can sell more on Quest, but while PSVR2 has a much smaller install base, more of that base or an equal amount might be likely to buy in practice.
First one had some better first-party support, but the PSVR2 is honestly a better purchase than PSVR1 at this point. I wouldn’t say it’s agreed that it’s a failure, I would say it’s agreed Sony did not do its best or close to it. There’s obviously a good market for devs to keep putting games on it and I imagine the software attach rate is very high.
@nomither6 I feel like Factions would if not a giant hit, been fine if ND had just released it and not had Bungie told them it wasn't sustainable. MP used to not be forever deals, and it would have been fine for factions to do that too like ND's previous MP attempts.
Sony is listening to bad ideas that weird like Concord, trying to put square cubes into circular holes with SP games as live service, and then just not willing to let something be a SP and MP mix that isn't a huge, but is successful. Twisted Metal should have just had another traditional premium entry without a huge focus on post-release monetization but Sony is floundering these days sadly.
It’s a nice points program, but the tasks are terrible. If you own a game you can’t get points for buying it, so loyalty is punished there. It’s good to at least leave in the background. Certain games are like half off with the points, otherwise always get the credit.
@colonelkilgore This. Honesty, if they updated the melee a bit, it’d be been better! I’d take a straight remaster though. We used to have so many good/fun Transformers games, then it just stopped. Even most of the movie games were good (or at least fun).
This is sad. I still shop regularly at GameStop and I hope they don’t close totally. My location see to be doing well thankfully and the customer service is excellent.
I wish I hadn’t bought that NFS a while back. It should be the new one, Unbound though. Suicide Squad should have been a 4th, not a normal one. Thanks for dying game no one wanted. Sanely Parable seems cool. Honestly, this month feels like someone lowered the budget for 2025.
@crossbit Helldivers 2 is very much defined by being live service, and the entire story of the game is build around it. It’s built upon the opportunities live service brings though, not the monetization aspects. It uses live service for storytelling in a way never seen before and doesn’t just iteratively add single player like storytelling. And so people love it because it does it the right way.
@PloverNutter It’s not that the weapons weren’t over-powered, it’s that they nerfed them into the ground, even if for a bug, and had no plans to revert after the bug. They buffed the flamethrower a few times, boasted about certain things it could do, then made it useless when they released the flame warbond. It stopped me from buying some supercredits until the game got patched. Some nerfs are fine, how they liked to burn the down the house in order to get rid of a few spiders instead of just removing perhaps not all at once.
So why does the warbond need to be priced higher? There should be no licensing fees because Sony owns Killzone and published Helldivers. Just release it as another warbond. For finances maybe decrease super credit spawn rates on trivial missions? That’s how people farm. For some reason there seems to be more super credits there than playing on normal fun difficulties, which doesn’t even make sense. That’s be a good way of doing it. The fact is other live service games are designed to bleed your wallet, HD isn’t and people like that.
@get2sammyb They’re not just cosmetics, it’s weapons and armor with a unique affect. The Killzone collection very much introduces gameplay changes and is not a cosmetic collection.
@LogicStrikesAgain Sony published Helldivers 2 and controls which platforms it’s on and whatnot. It’d pretty much be Sony paying Sony lol.
I hear you though, there is a balance to strike and AH is far better than most, I’m just worried about a slippery slope. I think superstore weapons are a bridge too far, so that needs to addressed in general. I feel giving some stuff away for free is a very nice band-aid, but only a band-aid.
I think they also put themselves in a bad spot by making it kinda too late to turn it into a warbond which it easily could have been and should have been. @The_Wailing_Doom See above paragraph, they made it so there is no right answer by their own hand and fault. This is the only game over eve bought current for because it wasn’t trying to Nickel and dime me. This cross-over was nickel and diming me.
@LogicStrikesAgain they’re giving them away for free because people called them out for getting for dipping into garbage MT practices. I’m glad they listened, but we shouldn’t have to call them out in the first place. Also, both Helldivers and Killzone are Sony franchises. There are zero listening fees here.
It’s great this was free after the outrageous prices, but now we need to get the other KZ stuff and superstore weapons given away. This is simply not good enough and after the big mistep. They should have simply made all of this a war one from the start. It costs super-credits, but it’s reasonable. Helldivers 2 is the only game I have ever bought currency for because it doesn’t feel like it’s nickel and diming me, it’s feels fair. I hope they don’t lose that.
It’s not just cosmetic. It’s weapons, which matter a lot and the armor has a new affect, which is also not cosmetic. It’s also crazy you how you went from “it’s cosmetic” to “it’s actually not, but that’s okay” within the same paragraph. I expect better journalism than this PS, that’s accurate and doesn’t contradict itself within two sentences or less.
Can we move away from the FMV with the girls? It feels kinda weird. It’s much more entertaining and funny when they just keep it in-game as part of the normal graphics.
I’ve been playing this and it’s fantastic, combat is great (with a small amount of jank), it looks good, the pacing is great. The Behemoth fights are awesome and the scale is impressive.
The puzzles are also fine and the game doesn’t dwell too long on them. I’ve also not seen a VR game where climbing has a weight to it like this one before.
I’d say this is a must-have for VR, far from a 4/10, it’d say 8/10 9/10.
A solid linear campaign like this is desperately needed in VR and I’m honestly surprised the review rated it so low.
@TheTraditional Better hardware makes for easier software development. Less needed optimization to run just as well will be helpful to making games and putting time elsewhere.
I’m glad they’re adding some of this, but I’d rather have the third act be worked on and not somewhat obviously unfinished and empty compared to the first part of the game as deadlines approached.
@Flaming_Kaiser Excuse me? Act like all women are liars? I specifically said those who lie make it harder for the real victims (don’t tell me no one’s lied before, it’s happened in famous cases before). Nor did I ever say he was a good person.
Your premise is that a famous not great person must have done it which is false. Yes you just listed some terrible men and I want to see Tate locked up personally. His own mouth hasn’t left room for doubt.
You go ahead and retract what you said about acting all women about being liars though, that’s some manipulative garbage right there because you know I never said or implied that, but you think you can guilt me by pretending I did.
Leave it alone. If I’m out, I really don’t need to play games. I rarely play my Switch undocked. And on a lite handheld note, the PSVR2 has taken that niche of an alternative ecosystem that brings something new to the table.
@Deityjester Stealth is miles better than the first and it’s not nearly as janky. It’s much more modernized, smoother, and better QOL changes. I’ve played both and would rather play Payday 3 than 2 easily.
It’s a great game. Honestly had so many improvements over the second. Tech issues aside, I don’t know why people hate it so much. It’s like they expected it to launch with PD2 levels of content.
The game that’s giving away the season pass isn’t going to throw itself in front of a train? Wow, the train still might hit it mind you, but they won’t be as expidited.
