Housemarque, Nixxes Software, Firesprite and now Bluepoint Games. Sony been busy this year, makes you wonder who else they might try and acquire next? I think Ember Lab would be a great choice, I also think they should acquire a fighting game centric studio, because Sony really does need a fighting game franchise to call their own, problem is; I don't know who could fill that void, Arc System Works maybe? And if they want more VR centric studios, I would go with the studio behind Farpoint on PSVR (Impulse Gear), and the studio behind Firewall: Zero Hour on PSVR (First Contact Entertainment), as well as the studio behind Moss on PSVR (Polyarc).
Very intrigued, I do hope they plan on creating more remakes down the track, but all the experience gained from said remakes, no doubt inspired them, now they can flex the extent of their creativity.
You know @playstation1995 is going to be thrilled by this acquisition, that man been touting for the Bluepoint acquisition to happen for so long... WORD UP SON!!!
So glad to see Bluepoint Games finally join the PlayStation Family. So many dormant PlayStation IP's deserve to be the Remake treatment, but I also would love to see them create their own original IP at some point, but I would never scoff at the idea of a Jak & Daxter Trilogy Remake, Legend of Dragoon Remake, Sly Cooper Trilogy Remake or Ape Escape Trilogy Remake, especially if it's being handled by the talented folks at Bluepoint Games. Plus if Sony ever decides to greenlight a PlayStation All-Stars 2, Bluepoint would be the perfect fit to helm the project, with aid from Asobi Studios & Santa Monica Studios.
The way people on Push Square's comment section talk about Jim Ryan, you'd think he was the type of person to kick puppies, tip over grannies, and eat another man's fries.
No big deal, most people didn't even know what Ray-Tracing was until a few years ago, I've no doubt Far Cry 6 is going to be a great game, my biggest concern lies beyond Far Cry 6, regarding the future of the series, based on what I've heard about it going the route of Assassins Creed Infinity, well then Far Cry 6 might very well be the last Far Cry game I play.
Just spent 4 hours playing it, needed to take a break from it, but so far I'm pleasantly surprised how big the world is, and there's a lot more mechanics at work than I thought there'd be, combat is fun but a bit simplistic at first, but combat mechanics deepen as you play, explore and collect. So far the only criticism lies with the story, to me it feels like an afterthought, as I'm playing, I'm not entirely sure what the end goal is meant to be. HOWEVER I should clarify that I did have a mate over and we both took turns playing, and I wasn't paying as much attention whilst he was playing, so my opinion on the story will likely change upon a second playthrough. .
Replaying through Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, and then I'm gonna start Life is Strange True Colors, and I might try and squeeze in a replay of the Destroy All Humans Remake.
I preordered it but I'm still waiting for it to arrive in the mail, and yes I've played both Dishonored 1 & 2, LOVED Dishonored 1, but I just could not get into Dishonored 2, I'm not sure why though, there was nothing wrong with Dishonored 2, but it just didn't hook me like the first game did. I plan on revisiting Dishonored 2 some day, and hopefully it'll hook me in this time, I had similar experiences with Heavy Rain & Dead-Rising 2, now I love those games.
@nessisonett - Man the SpongeBob SquarePants movie game was surprising good for a tie-in movie game, granted it had some issues, but the fun-factor managed to outweigh the negatives.
@Discol76 - Some people may not have gotten to play some of these games back in the day (I missed on SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom & have never had the chance to play KOTOR), and some games are simply too hard to come by now on the systems they were available on, not to mention that some games do not age so gracefully (Demon Souls on PS3), be that graphically, or gameplay-wise, thus games that DO receive the Remake treatment, I see that as an absolute win for fans and potential new players.
Though I do understand your frustrations toward GTA and how they resold the same game too many damn times, but there are a lot of games that actually do deserve the Remake treatment, and brought back into the public eye, plus Remakes can be used to determine whether a series can still be viable today, and whether there is enough interest in these games to continue making more games in the series (Crash Bandicoot being a prime example). I mean if Activision or whoever owns the IP for The Simpson's Hit & Run, announced a Remake for that game, and a couple of years later, due to the success of the Remake, they announce The Simpson's Hit & Run 2, I would lose my damn mind and preordered it ASAP.
YES!!! I played the absolute crap out of this game back in the day, hell I played it almost as much as I did Kingdom Hearts 2, Crash Twinsanity, Simpson's Hit & Run, the Sly Cooper Trilogy, Ratchet & Clank Trilogy (And Ratchet Gladiator) and the Jak & Daxter Trilogy (And Jak X). So I am really looking forward to this Remake!
I'm really hoping this Twisted Metal show leads to a new Twisted Metal game, but I'm also scared that if this were to happen, it will be an Online-Only Twisted Metal Game riddled with Microtransactions. Which is why I think I would prefer a Twisted Metal Black Remake.
I can't remember who said it, but someone on YouTube did a video on this potential new Twisted Metal game, and they said "You don't get a Twisted Metal game made in this day-and-age and have it NOT be riddled with Microtransactions & Lootboxes. That's just the way the industry is nowadays", and I had a hard time disagreeing with that logic.
@Flaming_Kaiser - Nah it's all good, I've been on a Cartoon binge as of late, in preparation for a fan-made YouTube project where 16 characters across different animated shows are trapped in a school together and are forced to kill one another and then solve the mystery behind each murder in order to escape. It's called 'Cartoons in Danganronpa', look into it, it's incredible stuff.
It's got Dipper & Mabel from Gravity Falls. Zim, Dib & Gaz from Invader Zim. Morty from Rick & Morty. Ed & Eddy from Ed, Edd n Eddy. Kyle & Cartman from South Park. Blossom & Bubbles from Powerpuff Girls. Charlotte & Vendetta from Making Fiends. Jenny Wakeman from My Life as a Teenage Robot. And Star Butterfly from Star Vs The Forces of Evil.
@fR_eeBritney - So many great shows back in the day, very few goods nowadays, but I loved shows like Courage the Cowardly Dog, Ed, Edd n Eddy, Hey Arthur, CatDog, Total Drama Series, Johnny Bravo, Powerpuff Girls, Dexter's Lab, The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, Making Fiends, My Life as a Teenage Robot, Invader Zim, Rocko's Modern Life, Rugrats, The Wild Thornberries, Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain, Tom & Jerry, Recess, Ducktales, Chip n Dale Rescue Rangers, Hey Arnold, Jake Long American Dragon, Kim Possible, Lilo & Stitch, Darkwing Duck, Samurai Jack, and a plethora of other shows I know I'm forgetting.
@playstation1995 @Flaming_Kaiser - Most of the shows you guys listed are Cartoon Network shows, Ed, Edd n Eddy, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Codename Kids Next Door and Cow & Chicken are Cartoon Network IP's, not Nickelodeon.
That being said; I would love to see a Cartoon Network All-Star Brawl! Finn & Jake duking it out with Mordecai & Rigby, the Powerpuff Girls wiping the floor with Ed, Edd n Eddy, Samurai Jack attempting to slice & dice Ben 10, Courage headbutting Johnny Bravo in the gonads.
I'm really hoping Jenny Wakeman, Timmy Turner, Jimmy Neutron, Rocko, Arnold and a few more of The Loud Sisters to be included as DLC, maybe even include a Nickelodeon Villains DLLC Pack as well, villains like Crocker or Jorgen Von Strangle, Man-Ray or Plankton, Shredder, Vexus & Vlad Phasmius. I know, not gonna happen, just wishful thinking.
@pharos_haven - I thought everybody hated Sylvando? Never understood why though, as I found him to be a fun and charismatic character with tons of personality.
While I have already preordered the game, and I am looking forward to it, I have a bad feeling this game will be average, maybe slightly above average.
Question for those who played the first Dying Light, did anyone encounter a nasty bug where upon loading the game up again, you lost all your skills, weapons, blueprints, collectibles etc. and your character was reduced back to Level 1, but your progress through the story remained? Did anyone else experience this? Or was I one of the few unlucky buggers that did, still remember that day and how absolutely furious I was.
Goddamn it! Was REALLY looking forward to Dying Light 2 in December, granted I'm glad they're taking the time to ensure the game is polished, but still this news is a real bummer.
I don't know, some of these sound a little... fake, like 'Fight for Middle-Earth'? 'Destroy All Humans 3'? But no mention of the Destroy All Humans 2 Remake? Plus Destroy All Humans 3 already exist. 'Kingdom Hearts 4?' yeah okay, I love Kingdom Hearts as much as the next bloke, but that ain't happening anytime soon. Also Trey Parker & Matt Stone are working on a 3D South Park Game, but no mention of that. Resident Evil 4 Remake, anyone with a singular brain cell could have predicted that. While I do believe Injustice 3 is in the works, 'Gods will Fall'? Wasn't that the fan-given name for the game via Wiki Fandom? Monster Hunter 6? When was the last mainline Monster Hunter game given a number in it's title? The rest just feel like wishful thinking and educated guesses.
@ATaco - They pretty much carried the PS3 too with the Ratchet & Clank series and Resistance series too, not that I'm complaining, but it does make me wish they would divulge their secrets to other PlayStation Studios so that they too can develop and release multiple games at a time at a consistent pace and quality.
@Grimwood - Are you for real? Ever since the Batman Arkham Series proved that great Superhero games can still be done in this day and age, combined with the success of the MCU, people have been begging for years for Marvel to try their hand at making games based on beloved Marvel Icons, Sony/PlayStation/Insomniac were the only ones who had the balls to try.
Mimir foreshadowed Thor's appearance in the first game, remember when Mimir was telling Artreus about the World Serpent, and how he "Absolutely loathes the fat dobber".
@Bamila - I misread your comment and thought you wrote 'Artreus' where it says Kratos, my bad, but my question remains, did they change Kratos's voice actor? Sounded exactly like Christopher Judge to me. And Mimir sounds exactly as he does in the previous game too.
@Randzilla - But the voice-over sounded Russian, Kraven is Russian, maybe Harry Osborn becoming Venom is nothing more than a misdirect, after all I think Peter & Miles will inevitably find and rescue Harry, and the symbiote clings to Peter, shenanigans ensue and the symbiote inevitably fuses with Kraven. I mean Kraven is already a pretty big threat on his own, but Kraven fused with the symbiote?... Spidey bout to go from predator to prey real quick.

Really don't understand people's fascination with Crash Bash, I played it back in the day (I still have it too), and honestly I didn't think much of it at all, in fact I would go as far as to say it was pretty bland, that's just my opinion though.

What type of game would everyone like to see from Bluepoint next?
I'd love to see an Open-World RPG in a similar vein to Legend of Dragoon, Dragon Quest & Fable.
