Re: Danganronpa S: Ultimate Summer Camp Out for PS4 in July

JustPlainLoco

@Bismarck - I recommend you check out 'Cartoons in Danganronpa' on YouTube, 16 characters from some of animation's best cartoon shows forced to participate in a killing game, from Gravity Falls to Ed, Edd n Eddy to Invader Zim to Powerpuff Girls to South Park to Rick & Morty and MORE!
LET'S GIVE IT EVERYTHING WE'VE GOT!!!

Re: Danganronpa S: Ultimate Summer Camp Out for PS4 in July

JustPlainLoco

If you're a fan of Danganronpa AND Cartoons you grew up with, I highly recommend people check out 'Cartoons in Danganronpa' on YouTube, the premise is everything you've come to expect from the Danganronpa series, only it features beloved cartoon characters such as Dipper & Mabel (Gravity Falls), Zim, Dib & Gaz (Invader Zim), Ed & Eddy (Ed, Edd n Eddy), Blossom & Bubbles (Powerpuff Girls), Cartman & Kyle (South Park), Morty (Rick & Morty), Jenny Wakeman (My Life as a Teenage Robot), Star Butterfly (Star Vs The Forces of Evil), and Charlotte & Vendetta (Making Fiends), and it is brilliant.

Re: PlayStation Won't Be at Gamescom This Year

JustPlainLoco

Gee people acting like Sony ain't got any games to look forward to or something, only half way through 2022, and I say Sony have been spoiling us rotten (unlike a certain other company), not to mention Sony's last State of Play was practically the highlight of Summer Games Fest, alongside the Capcom Showcase of course.

Seriously I swear most of you lot are so damn impatient, if they have a big showcase too soon and show a plethora of games that are still 2 years or so out, most of you will moan and groan like always, and if they have a tame showcase of what's to come in just the next year or two, most of you will STILL moan and groan, there's just no pleasing most of you.

@AdamNovice summed it all up very nicely

Sony speaks when they're ready to speak, and when they do, it always ends up making up for all that time they were silent, the calm before the storm so to speak.

So in the meantime, play some games, seriously am I to believe NONE of you have a backlog of games to tide you over?

Re: PlayStation Won't Be at Gamescom This Year

JustPlainLoco

After how lackluster Summer Games Fest was, I'm surprised people here acting like Gamescom will be any different when previous Summer Games Fests and previous Gamescoms have proven otherwise, has Vaas from Far Cry 3 taught us nothing about the definition of Insanity?
"It's doing the same sh@t over and over again... and expecting sh@t to change. That. Is. Crazy"

Re: Over 30 Developers and Publishers Confirmed for Summer Game Fest

JustPlainLoco

@Deoxyr1bose - Correct me if I'm wrong but I doubt we're going to see anything from Spider-Man 2 or Wolverine, as I'm pretty sure someone at Insomniac said earlier this year that we shouldn't expect to see anything from Spider-Man 2 until the second half of 2022, and supposedly there's going to be another big PS-centric showcase in September, that's likely when we'll see Spider-Man 2.

Re: Over 30 Developers and Publishers Confirmed for Summer Game Fest

JustPlainLoco

ATLUS being there gives me hope for a Persona 4 Golden PS4 Port. Also whether at the State of Play or Summer Games Fest, I truly believe Resident Evil Village for PSVR2 will be announced. Probably a stretch but Bloober Team being there got me hoping those Silent Hill 2 Remake rumors are true. Surprised Studio MDHR are going to be there, guess we're getting some more Cuphead DLC News before it's release.

Re: Spider-Man Games Could Have Been Exclusive to Xbox

JustPlainLoco

@Areus - Actually they didn't pass up on Heavy Rain, Microsoft demanded the game be rewritten because they didn't want to face any controversy from the game's more 'mature' aspects. However Quantic Dreams & David Cage refused to alter their vision of the game, thus they went on to approach Sony and the rest is history.

Re: Spider-Man Games Could Have Been Exclusive to Xbox

JustPlainLoco

Glad it was Sony and not Microsoft, as this was around the time Xbox had only a small handful of studios, none of whom I would trust to do Spider-Man justice.

From the moment it was announced Insomniac Games were at the helm of this new Spider-Man game, I knew that Spider-Man was in good hands, and I'm sure the folks at Insomniac Games were incredibly honored & proud to be able to make a Spider-Man game, I imagine any studio would be thrilled by such an opportunity.

And Insomniac Games delivered two amazing Spider-Man games, and now they get to work on a Wolverine game? I still can't get over that fact, but much like with Spider-Man, I have complete faith in Insomniac Games to deliver the definitive Wolverine gaming experience that Wolverine fans deserve.

Re: Future Games Show will Present Around 40 Games with Summer Showcase

JustPlainLoco

40 games and only 4 or 5 of those games will likely be remembered fondly (I'm being generous with that number).
E3 always promised lots of games being shown, but over time the quality of said games diminished until the majority of those games were the same-old same-old copy-and-paste Multiplayers game.
I'm open to being wrong this time, but based on past experiences, it's unlikely I will be.

Re: The Last of Us PS5 Remake Allegedly a Major Holiday Release

JustPlainLoco

I think they plan to add gameplay elements from TLOU2 like crawling through grass, rope swinging / rope puzzles, maybe add some human enemies versus infected encounters, maybe even include one or two new enemy types and expand certain areas like Bill's Town & The City so that there are multiple branching paths and more places to explore, much like in TLOU2.
And I'm okay with all these things, my only concern is them altering the story too much, but I'm looking at TLOU Remake much the same way Insomniac Games looks at Ratchet & Clank 2016, while Ratchet & Clank 2016 was a retelling of Ratchet & Clank 1, it didn't undermine or replace the original Ratchet & Clank back on the PS2, it was simply another take on the original that can exist on it's own.
And people claiming "They wasting resources that could be better spent on something else", I mean they're currently developing 4 titles at the moment, and from my understanding TLOU Remake is being handled by a small team within Naughty Dog in collaboration with XDev who is also working with multiple other studios on multiple other projects.
The fact that Naughty Dog is working on 4 projects at once is pretty impressive, clearly taking some notes from Insomniac Games, would love to see Sucker Punch, Guerrilla Games, Santa Monica Studios & Bluepoint Games grow to the point that they too can work on four project at once.

Re: Sony Buying Square Enix Was the Big Acquisition Rumour, Apparently

JustPlainLoco

@alixx - Unfortunately a Sleeping Dogs 2 would be a licensing nightmare, I don't know the specifics but the reason Sleeping Dogs 2 has not happened is due to a complicated licensing issue.
There are videos on YT that explain the issue far better than I ever could, but yeah Sleeping Dogs 2 is likely never gonna happen sadly, because Sleeping Dogs is criminally underrated.

Re: Sony Buying Square Enix Was the Big Acquisition Rumour, Apparently

JustPlainLoco

Sony acquiring Square Enix still makes too much sense to me, despite Square Enix selling off Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, Legacy of Kain & Thief, Sony has often relied heavily on Square Enix to fill that JRPG space that Sony sorely lacks.
The question in Sony's mind is likely, do we try buy Square Enix to fill that JRPG gap? Or do we buy Capcom who consistently puts out highly-rated high-selling games, while possessing more talent? Also I feel that Sony putting in a bid for WB Games, this tells me they're specifically after a Fighting Game Developer i.e NetherRealm, though personally if I was Sony I'd be targetting Capcom & Arc System Works if they truly want a foot in the Fighting Game space, plus both Capcom & Arc System Works already has the best working relationship with Sony anyway.
And if Sony truly needs any type of game, it's a fighting game to call their own, and not just by solely relying on Third-Party Developers to deliver it for them, they need an in-house studio to make their own Fighting Game, just as Polyphony Digital is their in-house Racing game studio.

Re: Video: How Telltale Nailed The Walking Dead's Opening Scene

JustPlainLoco

@Th3solution - The problem was that Telltale Games started taking on too many projects at once, they weren't taking their time to write and tell an engaging story on the same level as The Walking Dead, the more projects they took on, the more basic and less interesting they became.
Telltale's The Walking Dead Season 1, Telltale's The Wolf Among Us and Telltale's Tales from the Borderlands will remain the pinnacle of Telltale Games career for me.

Re: Video: How Telltale Nailed The Walking Dead's Opening Scene

JustPlainLoco

I've played and replayed the first season of Telltale's The Walking Dead so many times, I've practically seen and heard everything the game had to offer, but it's just such an incredibly captivating story, with fantastic characters, a phenomenal soundtrack, and beautifully tugs at the heartstrings, that I honestly don't mind replaying it at least once every year.
Every so often I find myself quoting many scenes from this game, and getting teary-eyed while doing so.

SPOILERS!!!
Just a handful of my favorite moments include:
> Meeting Clementine for the first time
> Choosing who to feed at the Motor Inn
> Having to decide Larry's fate (I always try to save him)
> Lilly kills Carly - Lilly accidently kills Doug attempting to kill Ben
> Chuck's speech about survival
> Ben admits to giving supplies to the bandits
> Getting Kenny to stop the train - Convincing Kenny that isn't responsible for Shawn's death - "There ain't no way this world let's my son live, when I helped put someone else's in the ground"
> Shooting Duck AND the kid in the Attic
> Defending Ben after he admits the truth to Kenny
> Saving Ben
> Lee gets bitten
> Going after Clementine
> Ben stands up to Kenny - "NO! You know how they died. You said goodbye. I-I never got to see my family, my parents, my little sister... DO YOU GET THAT!? Your family's gone BUT at least you had them to lose... I never made it home, they could be alive, or dead, OR WALKERS OR WORSE AND I DON'T KNOW! SO GIVE ME A F@CKING BREAK!!!"
> The confrontation in the Attic
> Lee tells Kenny how Ben wanted to die back in Crawford
> Kenny shoots Ben to spare him from being eaten by Walkers, and sacrifices himself
> Lee's final moments in the Police Station
> That beautiful song 'Take Us Back' that plays during the End Credits

If it's not already been made clear, Telltale's The Walking Dead Season 1 is one of my favorite games of all time, easily worthy of my top ten games of all times list.
And while the other 3 seasons are nowhere near as good as the first season (Season 2 comes close to being almost as good as the first season in MY opinion)... that being said; I still thoroughly enjoyed every season of Telltale's The Walking Dead.

Re: Crash Trilogy, Tony Hawk Remake Dev Now Officially Merged with Blizzard

JustPlainLoco

@ShogunRok - That's what I thought, I just remember that when the news dropped that MS were acquiring Activision / Blizzard, there was an image of all the games they've made/owned and Sekiro's main character was among the image, which confused me because normally you don't show an image like that which implies they own something they don't actually own, and I'm pretty sure the image was made by MS themselves.

Re: Crash Trilogy, Tony Hawk Remake Dev Now Officially Merged with Blizzard

JustPlainLoco

More worried for the future of Crash & Spyro, I get the feeling they're going to end up back in hibernation again (But this time they'll remain there permanently), and if the Activision/Microsoft deal goes through, I'll be even more concerned for the future of Crash & Spyro if Banjo Kazooie, Conker & Voodoo Vince are anything to go off of, especially since Activision & Microsoft's focus going forward will more than than likely be on the IP's that generate consistent revenue, like Call of Duty, Overwatch, Candy Crush and other Blizzard titles.

Re: PlayStation Studios' Firesprite Hiring for a AAA Horror Game

JustPlainLoco

@truerbluer - I myself don't particularly care for those type of Horror Titles you are describing, but there is an audience for those types of Horror Games, but I like the way the later Resident Evil games handle it, where you can still fight back to get some breathing room, however it's ill-advised due to the fact you're wasting precious resources, like how you handle Mr X, Nemesis, Lady Dimetrescu, Jack Baker & Margarite Baker, I like the stress that comes with not being able to outright kill them at first, and how they're always pursuing you BUT you can get them to back off if your smart AND you do eventually kill them and it is satisfying to kill them for all the grief they've given you throughout the course of the game.

Re: PlayStation Studios' Firesprite Hiring for a AAA Horror Game

JustPlainLoco

Imagine taking what worked from The Persistence, such as the creepy atmosphere, messed-up enemies and creative ways of dispatching said enemies, and given the budget of a AAA Game like God of War, TLOUP2 & Ghost of Tsushima, I think Firesprite could create something truly incredible, much in the same way Visceral Games did with Dead Space.

Re: This Week Could Be Big for PlayStation, Say Swirling Rumours

JustPlainLoco

PlayStation gonna announce PlayStation Spartacus and there's going to be a lot of whining and complaining that it 'doesn't measure up to Game Pass' because Sony are smart enough not to put their First-Party Titles Day-and-Date into this new service.
I think we'll hear a bit more about PSVR2 but it won't be a substantial reveal of any sorts, just showing off the Headset, Controls & maybe a in-depth demonstration of Horizon Call of the Mountain.
I also believe that a new studio acquisition from PlayStation will be announced between now and the 11th of April, just a gut feeling I have, but my gut was right about the timing of the Haven Studio Acquisition, as for who? Either Ember Labs or Kojima Productions.

Re: Poll: We Want You to Rate Your Favourite PSP Games

JustPlainLoco

I played quite a fair bit of Yugioh GX Tag Force 3, used to play this game daily with a friend before, during and after school, even on the bus, both of us practically 100% the game in just a couple months... kinda makes me wish Konami would remaster Yugioh GX Tag Force 1, 2 & 3 for PS & Switch, they were surprisingly good games with a lot of fun minigames.

Re: Gran Turismo 7 Fans Fight Controversial Currency Nerfs with PS5, PS4 Farming Exploits

JustPlainLoco

Funny how no one bothers to fight this hard against MTX with any other game, it's always excuses excuses excuses for those other games, but Sony has MTX in GT7 "Oh gosh well that's a no-no".
I'm all for the fight against MTX, I just wish you lot were this consistent with every game that has MTX, it's either "All MTX are bad" or none of it it is, stop picking-and-choosing to fit your own narrative, it's embarrassing.

Re: Sony Acquires Haven Studios, the New Developer Led By Jade Raymond

JustPlainLoco

Just as I suspected, there's a pattern, have you all noticed that after an event whether that be a State of Play or PS Centric Showcase, shortly afterwards they announce an acquisition?
Since yesterday I had a feeling an acquisition announcement was immanent, quite surprised that it's the Haven Studio, figured they'd wait until after their game releases before they acquire them, Sony must have a lot of faith in this project.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 417

JustPlainLoco

@GorosBat - Yeah I just spent today doing just that, got into the Academy, and defeated both of it's bosses, but now I'm back where I started and not sure where to go / where I can go next. I could just use a guide but I'm really trying not to, right now I'm curious how to activate that Grand Lift of Dectus, since a friend recommended I 'clear' that area? Not sure how cause the Lift doesn't appear to work.
